2 Kings 18
1 Now in the third yeere of Hoshea, sonne of Elah King of Israel, Hezekiah the sonne of Ahaz king of Iudah began to reigne.
Im dritten Jahre Hoseas, des Sohnes Elas, des Königs von Israel, ward Hiskia König, der Sohn des Ahas, des Königs von Juda.
2 He was fiue and twentie yeere olde when he began to reigne, and reigned nine and twenty yeere in Ierusalem. His mothers name also was Abi the daughter of Zachariah,
Mit fünfundzwanzig Jahren ward er König und regierte neunundzwanzig Jahre lang zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Abia, eine Tochter Sacharias.
3 And he did vprightly in the sight of the Lord, according to all that Dauid his father had done.
Und er tat, was dem HERRN wohlgefiel, ganz wie sein Vater David getan hatte.
4 He tooke away the hie places, and brake the images, and cut downe the groues, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for vnto those dayes the children of Israel did burne incense to it, and hee called it Nehushtan.
Er tat die Höhen ab und zerbrach die Säulen und hieb die Ascheren um und zerstieß die eherne Schlange, welche Mose gemacht hatte; denn bis zu dieser Zeit hatten die Kinder Israel ihr geräuchert, und man hieß sie Nechuschtan.
5 He trusted in the Lord God of Israel: so that after him was none like him among all the Kings of Iudah, neither were there any such before him.
Er vertraute dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels, so daß unter allen Königen von Juda keiner seinesgleichen war, weder nach ihm noch vor ihm.
6 For he claue to the Lord, and departed not from him, but kept his commandements, which the Lord had commanded Moses.
Er hing dem HERRN an, wich nicht von ihm ab und beobachtete die Gebote, welche der HERR dem Mose geboten hatte.
7 So the Lord was with him, and he prospered in all thinges, which he tooke in hande: also he rebelled against the King of Asshur, and serued him not.
Und der HERR war mit ihm; und wo er hinzog, handelte er weislich. Er fiel auch ab von dem assyrischen König und diente ihm nicht.
8 He smote the Philistims vnto Azzah, and the coastes thereof, from the watch towre vnto the defensed citie.
Und er schlug die Philister bis hin nach Gaza und dessen Gebiet, vom Wachtturm bis an die festen Städte.
9 And in the fourth yere of King Hezekiah, (which was the seuenth yeere of Hoshea sonne of Elah King of Israel) Shalmaneser King of Asshur came vp against Samaria, and besieged it.
Es geschah aber im vierten Jahr des Königs Hiskia (das war das siebente Jahr Hoseas, des Sohnes Elas, des Königs von Israel), da zog Salmanassar, der König von Assyrien, wider Samaria herauf und belagerte es.
10 And after three yeeres they tooke it, euen in the sixt yeere of Hezekiah: that is, the ninth yeere of Hoshea King of Israel was Samaria taken.
Und sie eroberten es nach drei Jahren; im sechsten Jahre Hiskias (das ist das neunte Jahr Hoseas, des Königs von Israel) ward Samaria genommen.
11 Then the King of Asshur did carry away Israel vnto Asshur, and put them in Halah and in Habor, by the riuer of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes,
Und der König von Assyrien führte Israel nach Assyrien hinweg und siedelte sie in Chalach und Chabor, am Flusse Gosan, und in den Städten der Meder an,
12 Because they woulde not obey the voyce of the Lord their God, but transgressed his couenant: that is, all that Moses the seruant of the Lord had commanded, and would neyther obey nor doe them.
weil sie der Stimme des HERRN, ihres Gottes, nicht gehorcht und seinen Bund gebrochen hatten, alles, was Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, geboten; sie hatten nicht darauf gehört und es nicht getan.
13 Moreouer, in the fourteenth yeere of King Hezekiah, Saneherib King of Asshur came vp against all the strong cities of Iudah, and tooke them.
Aber im vierzehnten Jahre des Königs Hiskia zog Sanherib, der König von Assyrien, herauf wider alle festen Städte Judas und nahm sie ein.
14 Then Hezekiah King of Iudah sent vnto the King of Asshur to Lachish, saying, I haue offended: depart from me, and what thou layest vpon me, I wil beare it. And the King of Asshur appoynted vnto Hezekiah King of Iudah three hudreth talents of siluer, and thirty talets of golde.
Da sandte Hiskia, der König von Juda, [Boten] zum König von Assyrien nach Lachis und ließ ihm sagen: Ich habe mich versündigt! Ziehe ab von mir; was du mir auferlegst, will ich tragen! Da legte der König von Assyrien Hiskia, dem König von Juda, dreihundert Talente Silber und dreißig Talente Gold auf.
15 Therefore Hezekiah gaue all the siluer that was found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the Kings house.
Und Hiskia gab ihm alles Silber, das sich im Hause des HERRN und in den Schätzen des königlichen Hauses vorfand.
16 At the same season did Hezekiah pul off the plates of the doores of the Temple of the Lord, and the pillars (which the sayd Hezekiah King of Iudah had couered ouer) and gaue them to the King of Asshur.
Zu jener Zeit ließ Hiskia, der König von Juda, das Gold abschneiden von den Türen am Tempel des HERRN und von den Pfosten, die er selbst hatte überziehen lassen, und gab es dem König von Assyrien.
17 And the King of Asshur sent Tartan, and Rab-saris, and Rabshakeh from Lachish to King Hezekiah with a great hoste against Ierusalem. And they went vp, and came to Ierusalem, and when they were come vp, they stood by the conduite of the vpper poole, which is by the path of the fullers fielde,
Und der König von Assyrien sandte den Tartan und den Rabsaris und den Rabschake mit großer Macht von Lachis aus zum König Hiskia gen Jerusalem. Und sie zogen herauf, und als sie vor Jerusalem anlangten, hielten sie an der Wasserleitung des obern Teiches, die an der Straße des Walkerfeldes liegt; und sie riefen den König.
18 And called to the King. Then came out to them Eliakim the sonne of Hilkiah, which was steward of the house, and Shebnah the chanceller, and Ioah the sonne of Asaph the recorder.
Da gingen zu ihnen hinaus Eljakim, der Sohn Hilkias, der über das Haus gesetzt war, und Sebna, der Schreiber, und Joah, der Sohn Asaphs, der Kanzler.
19 And Rabshakeh sayde vnto them, Tell ye Hezekiah, I pray you, Thus saith the great King, euen the great King of Asshur, What confidence is this wherein thou trustest?
Und Rabschake sprach zu ihnen: Saget doch dem Hiskia: So spricht der große König, der König von Assyrien: Was ist das für ein Trost, darauf du dich vertröstest?
20 Thou thinkest, Surely I haue eloquence, but counsell and strength are for the warre. On whom then doest thou trust, that thou rebellest against me?
Wenn du sagst: «Es ist Rat und Macht zum Krieg vorhanden», so ist das leeres Geschwätz! Auf wen vertraust du denn, daß du von mir abtrünnig geworden bist?
21 Lo, thou trustest now in this broken staffe of reede, to wit, on Egypt, on which if a man leane, it will goe into his hand, and pearce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt vnto all that trust on him.
Siehe, du vertraust jetzt auf jenen zerbrochenen Rohrstab, auf Ägypten, welcher jedem, der sich darauf lehnt, in die Hand fährt und sie durchbohrt! Also ist der Pharao, der König von Ägypten, allen denen, die auf ihn vertrauen!
22 But if ye say vnto me, We trust in the Lord our God, is not that he whose hie places, and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and hath sayd to Iudah and Ierusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar in Ierusalem?
Wenn ihr mir aber sagen wolltet: Wir vertrauen auf den HERRN, unsern Gott! ist das nicht der, dessen Höhen und Altäre Hiskia abgetan hat, während er zu Juda und zu Jerusalem sprach: Vor diesem Altar sollt ihr anbeten zu Jerusalem?
23 Now therefore giue hostages to my lord the King of Asshur, and I will giue thee two thousand horses, if thou be able to set riders vpon them.
Wette doch jetzt einmal mit meinem Herrn, dem König von Assyrien: ich will dir zweitausend Pferde geben, wenn du die Reiter dazu stellen kannst!
24 For how canst thou despise any captaine of the least of my masters seruants, and put thy trust on Egypt for charets and horsemen?
Wie wolltest du auch nur einem der geringsten Fürsten von meines Herrn Knechten begegnen? Doch du vertraust ja auf Ägypten, wegen der Wagen und Reiter!
25 Am I now come vp without the Lord to this place, to destroy it? the Lord sayd to me, Goe vp against this land, and destroy it.
Bin ich nun aber etwa ohne den HERRN gegen diesen Ort heraufgezogen, ihn zu verderben? Der HERR hat zu mir gesagt: Ziehe wider dieses Land hinauf und verderbe es!
26 Then Eliakim the sonne of Hilkiah, and Shebnah, and Ioah said vnto Rabshakeh, Speake I pray thee, to thy seruants in the Aramites language, for we vnderstand it, and talke not with vs in the Iewes tongue, in the audience of the people that are on the wall.
Da sprachen Eljakim, der Sohn Hilkias, und Sebna und Joah zu Rabschake: Rede doch mit deinen Knechten aramäisch; denn wir verstehen es, und rede nicht judäisch mit uns vor den Ohren des Volkes, das auf der Mauer ist!
27 But Rabshakeh saide vnto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master and to thee to speake these words, and not to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eate their owne doung, and drinke their owne pisse with you?
Rabschake aber sprach zu ihnen: Hat mich denn mein Herr zu deinem Herrn oder zu dir gesandt, solche Worte zu reden, und nicht vielmehr zu den Männern, die auf der Mauer sitzen, um mit euch ihren Kot zu essen und ihren Harn zu trinken?
28 So Rabshakeh stoode and cryed with a loude voyce in the Iewes language, and spake, saying, Heare the wordes of the great King, of the king of Asshur.
Und Rabschake trat vor und rief mit lauter Stimme auf judäisch, redete und sprach: Hört das Wort des großen Königs, des Königs von Assyrien!
29 Thus sayth the King, Let not Hezekiah deceiue you: for he shall not be able to deliuer you out of mine hand.
So spricht der König: Laßt euch von Hiskia nicht verführen; denn er kann euch nicht aus meiner Hand erretten!
30 Neither let Hezekiah make you to trust in the Lord, saying, The Lord will surely deliuer vs, and this citie shall not be giuen ouer into the hand of the king of Asshur.
Laßt euch auch von Hiskia nicht auf den HERRN vertrösten, wenn er sagt: Der HERR wird uns gewiß erretten, und diese Stadt wird nicht in die Hand des Königs von Assyrien gegeben werden!
31 Hearken not vnto Hezekiah: for thus saith the king of Asshur, Make appointment with me, and come out to me, that euery man may eate of his owne vine, and euery man of his owne figge tree, and drinke euery man of the water of his owne well,
Höret nicht auf Hiskia; denn also spricht der König von Assyrien: Macht Frieden mit mir und kommt zu mir heraus; so soll ein jeder von seinem Weinstock und von seinem Feigenbaum essen und das Wasser seines Brunnens trinken,
32 Till I come, and bring you to a land like your owne land, euen a land of wheate and wine, a land of bread and vineyardes, a lande of oliues oyle, and hony, that ye may liue and not die: and obey not Hezekiah, for he deceiueth you, saying, The Lord will deliuer vs.
bis daß ich komme und euch in das Land hole, das eurem Lande gleich ist; ein Land von Korn und Most, ein Land von Brot und Weinbergen, ein Land von Ölbäumen und Honig; so werdet ihr am Leben bleiben und nicht sterben. Hört nicht auf Hiskia; denn er verführt euch, wenn er sagt: Der HERR wird uns erretten!
33 Hath any of the gods of the nations deliuered his lande out of the hand of the King of Asshur?
Haben auch die Götter der Völker ein jeder sein Land aus der Hand des Königs von Assyrien errettet?
34 Where is the god of Hamah, and of Arpad? where is the god of Sepharuaim, Hena and Iuah? how haue they deliuered Samaria out of mine hand?
Wo sind die Götter zu Chamat und Arpad? Wo sind die Götter zu Sepharwaim, Hena und Iwa? Haben sie etwa Samaria von meiner Hand errettet?
35 Who are they among all the gods of the nations, that haue deliuered their lande out of mine hand, that the Lord should deliuer Ierusalem out of mine hand?
Wo ist einer unter allen Göttern der Länder, der sein Land aus meiner Hand errettet hätte, daß der HERR Jerusalem aus meiner Hand erretten sollte!
36 But the people helde their peace, and answered not him a worde: for the Kings commandement was, saying, Answere ye him not.
Das Volk aber schwieg still und antwortete ihm nichts; denn der König hatte geboten und gesagt: Antwortet ihm nichts!
37 Then Eliakim, the sonne of Hilkiah which was steward of the house, and Shebnah the chanceller, and Ioah the sonne of Asaph the recorder came to Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and tolde him the wordes of Rabshakeh.
Da kamen Eljakim, der Sohn Hilkias, der über das Haus gesetzt war, und Sebna, der Schreiber, und Joah, der Sohn Asaphs, der Kanzler, zu Hiskia, mit zerrissenen Kleidern und meldeten ihm die Worte Rabschakes.
