2 Kings 18
1 Now in the third yeere of Hoshea, sonne of Elah King of Israel, Hezekiah the sonne of Ahaz king of Iudah began to reigne.
Mʼchaka chachitatu cha Hoseya mwana wa Ela mfumu ya Israeli, Hezekiya mwana wa Ahazi mfumu ya Yuda analowa ufumu.
2 He was fiue and twentie yeere olde when he began to reigne, and reigned nine and twenty yeere in Ierusalem. His mothers name also was Abi the daughter of Zachariah,
Anakhala mfumu ali ndi zaka 25 ndipo analamulira mu Yerusalemu zaka 29. Amayi ake anali Abi, mwana wa Zekariya.
3 And he did vprightly in the sight of the Lord, according to all that Dauid his father had done.
Iye anachita zolungama pamaso pa Yehova monga anachitira Davide kholo lake.
4 He tooke away the hie places, and brake the images, and cut downe the groues, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for vnto those dayes the children of Israel did burne incense to it, and hee called it Nehushtan.
Anachotsa malo opembedzerako mafano, anaphwanya miyala yachipembedzo ndiponso anadula mafano a Asera. Iye anaphwanya njoka yamkuwa imene Mose anapanga, pakuti mpaka kufikira nthawi imeneyi Aisraeli amafukiza lubani kwa njoka imeneyi. (Imatchedwa Nehusitani).
5 He trusted in the Lord God of Israel: so that after him was none like him among all the Kings of Iudah, neither were there any such before him.
Hezekiya anadalira Yehova Mulungu wa Israeli. Kotero panalibe wina wofanana naye pakati pa mafumu onse a Yuda, asanakhale mfumu kapena atakhala kale mfumu.
6 For he claue to the Lord, and departed not from him, but kept his commandements, which the Lord had commanded Moses.
Iye anakangamira Yehova ndipo sanamusiye koma anasunga malamulo amene Yehova anapatsa Mose.
7 So the Lord was with him, and he prospered in all thinges, which he tooke in hande: also he rebelled against the King of Asshur, and serued him not.
Ndipo Yehova anali naye ndipo kulikonse kumene anapita zinthu zinkamuyendera bwino. Iye anagalukira mfumu ya ku Asiriya ndipo sanayitumikirenso.
8 He smote the Philistims vnto Azzah, and the coastes thereof, from the watch towre vnto the defensed citie.
Iye anakantha Afilisti kuyambira ku nsanja ya alonda mpaka ku mzinda wotetezedwa. Anakafika mpaka ku Gaza ndi ku malire ake.
9 And in the fourth yere of King Hezekiah, (which was the seuenth yeere of Hoshea sonne of Elah King of Israel) Shalmaneser King of Asshur came vp against Samaria, and besieged it.
Mʼchaka chachinayi cha Mfumu Hezekiya, chimene chinali chaka chachisanu ndi chiwiri cha Hoseya mwana wa Ela mfumu ya Israeli, Salimenezeri, mfumu ya ku Asiriya anabwera kudzathira nkhondo mzinda wa Samariya ndi kuwuzinga
10 And after three yeeres they tooke it, euen in the sixt yeere of Hezekiah: that is, the ninth yeere of Hoshea King of Israel was Samaria taken.
Asiriya analanda mzindawu patatha zaka zitatu. Choncho mzinda wa Samariya unalandidwa chaka chachisanu ndi chimodzi cha Hezekiya, chimene chinali chaka chachisanu ndi chinayi cha Hoseya mfumu ya Israeli.
11 Then the King of Asshur did carry away Israel vnto Asshur, and put them in Halah and in Habor, by the riuer of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes,
Mfumu ya ku Asiriya inatenga Aisraeli kupita nawo ku ukapolo ku Asiriya ndipo anakawakhazika ku Hala, ku Habori pafupi ndi mtsinje wa Gozani ndi mʼmizinda ya Amedi.
12 Because they woulde not obey the voyce of the Lord their God, but transgressed his couenant: that is, all that Moses the seruant of the Lord had commanded, and would neyther obey nor doe them.
Izi zinachitika chifukwa sanamvere zonena za Yehova Mulungu wawo, koma anaphwanya pangano lake ndi zonse zimene Mose mtumiki wa Yehova anawalamula. Iwo sanamvere malamulowo kapena kuwagwiritsa ntchito.
13 Moreouer, in the fourteenth yeere of King Hezekiah, Saneherib King of Asshur came vp against all the strong cities of Iudah, and tooke them.
Mʼchaka chakhumi ndi chinayi cha ulamuliro wa Mfumu Hezekiya, Senakeribu mfumu ya ku Asiriya anathira nkhondo mizinda yonse yotetezedwa ya Yuda, nayilanda.
14 Then Hezekiah King of Iudah sent vnto the King of Asshur to Lachish, saying, I haue offended: depart from me, and what thou layest vpon me, I wil beare it. And the King of Asshur appoynted vnto Hezekiah King of Iudah three hudreth talents of siluer, and thirty talets of golde.
Choncho Hezekiya mfumu ya Yuda anatumiza uthenga kwa mfumu ya ku Asiriya ku Lakisi wonena kuti, “Ine ndalakwa. 15 Therefore Hezekiah gaue all the siluer that was found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the Kings house.
Mfumu Hezekiya inapereka siliva yense amene anapezeka mʼNyumba ya Yehova ndi mʼnyumba zosungiramo chuma cha mfumu.
16 At the same season did Hezekiah pul off the plates of the doores of the Temple of the Lord, and the pillars (which the sayd Hezekiah King of Iudah had couered ouer) and gaue them to the King of Asshur.
Nthawi imeneyi Hezekiya mfumu ya Yuda anakanganula golide amene anakuta zitseko ndi mphuthu za chipata cha Nyumba ya Yehova namupereka kwa mfumu ya ku Asiriya.
17 And the King of Asshur sent Tartan, and Rab-saris, and Rabshakeh from Lachish to King Hezekiah with a great hoste against Ierusalem. And they went vp, and came to Ierusalem, and when they were come vp, they stood by the conduite of the vpper poole, which is by the path of the fullers fielde,
Mfumu ya ku Asiriya inatuma Taritani, Rabusarisi ndi Rabusake pamodzi ndi gulu lalikulu la ankhondo, kwa Mfumu Hezekiya ku Yerusalemu kuchokera ku Lakisi. Iwo anafika ku Yerusalemu nakayima pafupi ndi ngalande ya madzi yochokera ku Dziwe Lakumtunda, pa msewu waukulu wopita ku malo a Munda wa Mmisiri Wochapa.
18 And called to the King. Then came out to them Eliakim the sonne of Hilkiah, which was steward of the house, and Shebnah the chanceller, and Ioah the sonne of Asaph the recorder.
Iwo anayitana mfumu, ndipo Eliyakimu mwana wa Hilikiya woyangʼanira nyumba ya mfumu, Sebina mlembi wa bwalo ndi Yowa mwana wa Asafu mlembi wa zochitika anapita kwa anthuwo.
19 And Rabshakeh sayde vnto them, Tell ye Hezekiah, I pray you, Thus saith the great King, euen the great King of Asshur, What confidence is this wherein thou trustest?
Ndipo Rabusake anawawuza kuti, “Kamuwuzeni Hezekiya kuti, “‘Mfumu yayikulu, mfumu ya ku Asiriya ikunena kuti, ‘Kodi chikukulimbitsa mtima ndi chiyani?’
20 Thou thinkest, Surely I haue eloquence, but counsell and strength are for the warre. On whom then doest thou trust, that thou rebellest against me?
Iwe ukuti uli ndi luso ndiponso mphamvu pa nkhondo, komatu ukuyankhula mawu opanda pake. Kodi tsono iwe ukudalira yani kuti undiwukire ine?
21 Lo, thou trustest now in this broken staffe of reede, to wit, on Egypt, on which if a man leane, it will goe into his hand, and pearce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt vnto all that trust on him.
Taona tsono, iwe ukudalira Igupto, bango lothyokalo, limene limalasa mʼmanja mwa munthu ngati waliyesa ndodo yoyendera! Umo ndi mmene Farao mfumu ya ku Igupto imachitira aliyense amene akuyidalira.’”
22 But if ye say vnto me, We trust in the Lord our God, is not that he whose hie places, and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and hath sayd to Iudah and Ierusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar in Ierusalem?
Ndipo ngati ukunena kwa ine kuti, “Ife tikudalira Yehova Mulungu wathu.” Kodi si Mulungu yemweyo amene nyumba zake ndi maguwa ake Hezekiya anachotsa, nawuza anthu a ku Yuda ndi a ku Yerusalemu kuti, “Muzipembedza pa guwa lansembe ili mu Yerusalemu?”
23 Now therefore giue hostages to my lord the King of Asshur, and I will giue thee two thousand horses, if thou be able to set riders vpon them.
“‘Ndipo tsopano bwera udzakambirane ndi mbuye wanga, mfumu ya ku Asiriya: ine ndidzakupatsa akavalo 2,000 ngati ungathe kupeza okwerapo!
24 For how canst thou despise any captaine of the least of my masters seruants, and put thy trust on Egypt for charets and horsemen?
Ungathe bwanji kugonjetsa ngakhale mmodzi mwa akazembe angʼonoangʼono a mbuye wanga, pamene ukudalira Igupto kuti akupatse magaleta ndi anthu okwera pa akavalo?
25 Am I now come vp without the Lord to this place, to destroy it? the Lord sayd to me, Goe vp against this land, and destroy it.
Kuwonjezera pamenepa, kodi ine ndabwera kudzathira nkhondo ndi kuwononga malo ano popanda chilolezo cha Yehova? Yehova mwini ndiye anandiwuza kuti ndidzathire nkhondo ndi kuwononga dziko lino.’”
26 Then Eliakim the sonne of Hilkiah, and Shebnah, and Ioah said vnto Rabshakeh, Speake I pray thee, to thy seruants in the Aramites language, for we vnderstand it, and talke not with vs in the Iewes tongue, in the audience of the people that are on the wall.
Pamenepo Eliyakimu mwana wa Hilikiya, Sebina ndi Yowa anawuza Rabusakeyo kuti, “Chonde yankhulani kwa atumiki anufe mʼChiaramu, popeza timachimva. Musayankhule nafe mu Chihebri kuopa kuti anthu onse amene ali pa khomapa angamve.”
27 But Rabshakeh saide vnto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master and to thee to speake these words, and not to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eate their owne doung, and drinke their owne pisse with you?
Koma Rabusake anayankha kuti, “Kodi mbuye wanga wandituma kuti ndidzanene zinthu izi kwa mbuye wanu yekha ndi inu nokha basi? Ayi, komanso kwa anthu amene akhala pa khomawa. Iwowa adzadya chimbudzi chawo chomwe ndi kumwa mkodzo wawo womwe monga momwe mudzachitire inuyonso.”
28 So Rabshakeh stoode and cryed with a loude voyce in the Iewes language, and spake, saying, Heare the wordes of the great King, of the king of Asshur.
Tsono Rabusake anayimirira nafuwula mu Chihebri kuti, “Imvani mawu a mfumu yayikulu, mfumu ya ku Asiriya!
29 Thus sayth the King, Let not Hezekiah deceiue you: for he shall not be able to deliuer you out of mine hand.
Zimene mfumu ikunena ndi izi: ‘Musalole kuti Hezekiya akunamizeni. Iye sangakupulumutseni mʼdzanja langa.
30 Neither let Hezekiah make you to trust in the Lord, saying, The Lord will surely deliuer vs, and this citie shall not be giuen ouer into the hand of the king of Asshur.
Hezekiya asakukakamizeni kudalira Yehova ndi mawu akuti, ‘Ndithu, Yehova adzatipulumutsa; ndipo sadzapereka mzindawu mʼdzanja la mfumu ya ku Asiriya.’
31 Hearken not vnto Hezekiah: for thus saith the king of Asshur, Make appointment with me, and come out to me, that euery man may eate of his owne vine, and euery man of his owne figge tree, and drinke euery man of the water of his owne well,
“Musamumvere Hezekiya. Zimene mfumu ya ku Asiriya ikunena ndi izi: Pangani mtendere ndi ine ndipo mutuluke mu mzinda. Mukatero aliyense wa inu adzadya mphesa ndi nkhuyu za mʼmunda mwake ndiponso adzamwa madzi a mʼchitsime chake,
32 Till I come, and bring you to a land like your owne land, euen a land of wheate and wine, a land of bread and vineyardes, a lande of oliues oyle, and hony, that ye may liue and not die: and obey not Hezekiah, for he deceiueth you, saying, The Lord will deliuer vs.
mpaka nditabwera kudzakutengani kupita ku dziko lofanana ndi lanuli, dziko la tirigu ndi vinyo watsopano, dziko la chakudya ndi minda ya mipesa, dziko la mitengo ya olivi ndi uchi. Sankhani moyo osati imfa! “Musamvere zonena Hezekiya, pakuti iye akukusocheretsani ponena kuti, ‘Yehova adzatipulumutsa.’
33 Hath any of the gods of the nations deliuered his lande out of the hand of the King of Asshur?
Kodi mulungu wa anthu a mtundu wina uliwonse wapulumutsapo dziko lake mʼdzanja la mfumu ya ku Asiriya?
34 Where is the god of Hamah, and of Arpad? where is the god of Sepharuaim, Hena and Iuah? how haue they deliuered Samaria out of mine hand?
Kodi ili kuti milungu ya Hamati ndi Aripadi? Ili kuti milungu ya Sefaravaimu, Hena ndi Ivani? Kodi inapulumutsa Samariya mʼdzanja langa?
35 Who are they among all the gods of the nations, that haue deliuered their lande out of mine hand, that the Lord should deliuer Ierusalem out of mine hand?
Kodi ndi milungu iti mwa milungu yonse ya mayiko awa amene anapulumutsa dziko lake mʼdzanja langa? Nanga tsono Yehova adzapulumutsa Yerusalemu mʼdzanja langa motani?”
36 But the people helde their peace, and answered not him a worde: for the Kings commandement was, saying, Answere ye him not.
Koma anthu anakhala chete ndipo sanayankhepo kanthu, chifukwa mfumu inawalamula kuti, “Musayankhe.”
37 Then Eliakim, the sonne of Hilkiah which was steward of the house, and Shebnah the chanceller, and Ioah the sonne of Asaph the recorder came to Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and tolde him the wordes of Rabshakeh.
Pamenepo anthu atatu aja Eliyakimu, mwana wa Hilikiya amene ankayangʼanira nyumba ya mfumu, Sebina mlembi wa bwalo ndi Yowa mwana wa Asafu, mlembi wa zochitika anapita kwa Hezekiya atangʼamba zovala zawo ndipo anamuwuza Hezekiya zonse zimene anayankhula Rabusake uja.
