2 Kings 17
1 In the twelft yeere of Ahaz King of Iudah began Hoshea the sonne of Elah to reigne in Samaria ouer Israel, and reigned nine yeeres.
யூதாவின் அரசன் ஆகாஸ் அரசாண்ட பன்னிரண்டாம் வருடத்தில் ஏலாவின் மகன் ஓசெயா சமாரியாவில் இஸ்ரயேலுக்கு அரசனானான். அவன் ஒன்பது வருடங்கள் ஆட்சிசெய்தான்.
2 And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, but not as the Kinges of Israel, that were before him.
யெகோவாவின் பார்வையில் தீமையானதையே இவனும் செய்தான். ஆனால் இஸ்ரயேலின் முந்தைய அரசர்கள் செய்ததுபோல செய்யவில்லை.
3 And Shalmaneser king of Asshur came vp against him, and Hoshea became his seruant, and gaue him presents.
அசீரிய அரசன் சல்மனாசார் ஓசெயாவை தாக்கவந்ததால், ஓசெயா அவனுக்குக் கீழ்பட்டவனாகி வரி செலுத்தி வந்தான்.
4 And the King of Asshur founde treason in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So King of Egypt, and brought no present vnto the King of Asshur, as he had done yeerely: therfore the king of Asshur shut him vp, and put him in prison.
ஆனால் பின்பு ஓசெயா எகிப்திய அரசன் சோ என்பவனிடம் தூதுவரை அனுப்பியதோடு, அசீரிய அரசனுக்கு வருடாவருடம் செலுத்திவந்த வரியைக் கொடுக்காமலும் இருந்தான். இதனால் ஓசெயா ஒரு துரோகி என்று அசீரிய அரசன் கண்டுபிடித்தான். எனவே சல்மனாசார் அவனைப் பிடித்துச் சிறையிலிட்டான். சமாரியாவின் வீழ்ச்சி
5 Then the king of Asshur came vp throughout all the lande, and went against Samaria, and besieged it three yeere.
அசீரிய அரசன் முழு நாட்டையும் தாக்கி, சமாரியாவுக்கு அணிவகுத்துப் போய் அதை மூன்று வருடங்களாக முற்றுகையிட்டிருந்தான்.
6 In the ninth yeere of Hoshea, the King of Asshur tooke Samaria, and caryed Israel away vnto Asshur, and put them in Halah, and in Habor by the riuer of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
ஓசெயாவின் ஆட்சியின் ஒன்பதாம் வருடத்தில் அசீரிய அரசன் சமாரியாவைக் கைப்பற்றி இஸ்ரயேலரை அசீரியாவுக்கு நாடுகடத்தினான். அவன் ஆபோர் ஆற்றுக்கு அருகே கோசானிலும் ஆலாகிலும், மேதியாவின் பட்டணங்களிலும் அவர்களைக் குடியேற்றினான்.
7 For when the children of Israel sinned against the Lord their God, which had brought them out of the land of Egypt, from vnder ye hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and feared other gods,
இஸ்ரயேலர் எகிப்திய அரசனான பார்வோனின் அதிகாரத்திலிருந்து தங்களை விடுதலையாக்கிக் கொண்டுவந்த தங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு எதிராகப் பாவம் செய்தபடியாலேயே, அவர்களுக்கு இவையெல்லாம் ஏற்பட்டது. அவர்கள் வேறு தெய்வங்களையும் வணங்கி,
8 And walked according to the facions of the Heathen, whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel, and after the maners of the Kings of Israel, which they vsed,
யெகோவா தங்களுக்கு முன்னால் துரத்திவிட்ட நாட்டினரின் நடைமுறைகளையும் பின்பற்றினார்கள். அத்துடன் இஸ்ரயேல் அரசர்கள் உட்புகுத்திய பாரம்பரிய வழக்கங்களையும் பின்பற்றினர்.
9 And the children of Israel had done secretly things that were not vpright before the Lord their God, and throughout all their cities had built hie places, both from the tower of the watch, to the defensed citie,
மேலும் இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் தங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு எதிராக பிழையான செயல்களை இரகசியமாகவும் செய்தனர். அத்துடன் காவற் கோபுரத்திலிருந்து, அரணாக்கப்பட்ட பட்டணம் வரையும் தங்களுடைய எல்லாப் பட்டணங்களிலும் வழிபாட்டு மேடைகளைக் கட்டினார்கள்.
10 And had made them images and groues vpon euery hie hill, and vnder euery greene tree,
ஒவ்வொரு உயர்ந்த குன்றுகளிலும், விசாலமான ஒவ்வொரு மரத்தின் கீழும் புனித கற்களையும், அசேரா விக்கிரக தூண்களையும் நாட்டினார்கள்.
11 And there burnt incense in all the hie places, as did the heathen, whom the Lord had taken away before them, and wrought wicked things to anger the Lord,
யெகோவா தங்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் துரத்திவிட்ட நாட்டினர் செய்ததுபோல் ஒவ்வொரு வழிபாட்டு மேடைகளிலும் தூபங்காட்டினார்கள். கொடிய காரியங்களையும் செய்து யெகோவாவைக் கோபப்படுத்தினார்கள்.
12 And serued idoles: whereof the Lord had sayd vnto them, Ye shall do no such thing,
“இவற்றைச் செய்யவேண்டாம்” என்று யெகோவா குறிப்பாகத் திரும்பத்திரும்ப எச்சரித்த விக்கிரக வழிபாட்டையே அவர்கள் செய்துவந்தார்கள்.
13 Notwithstanding the Lord testified to Israel, and to Iudah by all the Prophets, and by all the Seers, saying, Turne from your euill wayes, and keepe my commandements and my statutes, according to all the Lawe, which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my seruants the Prophets.
யெகோவா தமது இறைவாக்கினர் மூலமும், தரிசனம் காண்பவர்கள் மூலமும், “உங்கள் பொல்லாத வழிகளைவிட்டு விலகுங்கள். நான் எனது பணியாட்களான இறைவாக்கினர்மூலம் கொடுத்து, உங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட முழு சட்டத்தின்படி எனது கட்டளைகளையும், விதிமுறைகளையும் கைக்கொள்ளுங்கள்” என்று இஸ்ரயேலையும், யூதாவையும் எச்சரித்தார்.
14 Neuerthelesse they would not obey, but hardened their neckes, like to the neckes of their fathers, that did not beleeue in the Lord their God.
ஆனால் அவர்கள் அதைக் கேட்க மறுத்து, தங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவிடம் நம்பிக்கை வைக்காத தங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களைப்போல பிடிவாதமுள்ளோராக இருந்தார்கள்.
15 And they refused his statutes and his couenant, that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies (wherewith he witnessed vnto them) and they followed vanitie, and became vaine, and followed the heathen that were round about them: concerning whome the Lord had charged them, that they should not do like them.
யெகோவா அவர்களுடைய முற்பிதாக்களுக்குக் கைக்கொள்ளும்படி எச்சரித்துக் கொடுத்த விதிமுறைகளையும், நியமங்களையும், அவர்களுடன் செய்த உடன்படிக்கையையும் அவர்கள் வெறுத்துத் தள்ளிவிட்டார்கள். அவர்கள் பயனற்ற விக்கிரகங்களைப் பின்பற்றி, தாங்களும் பயனற்றவர்களானார்கள். யெகோவா அவர்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டு, “நீங்கள் உங்களைச்சுற்றி வாழும் நாட்டினர் செய்வதுபோல் செய்யவேண்டாம்” என்று சொல்லியுங்கூட, அவர்கள் அதையே பின்பற்றினார்கள். யெகோவா செய்யவேண்டாமென்று விலக்கியவற்றையே அவர்கள் செய்தார்கள்.
16 Finally they left all the commandements of the Lord their God, and made them molten images, euen two calues, and made a groue, and worshipped all the hoste of heauen, and serued Baal.
தங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவின் கட்டளைகள் யாவையும்விட்டு, தங்களுக்கு வார்க்கப்பட்ட உலோகத்தால் இரண்டு கன்றுக்குட்டிகளின் உருவத்தில் விக்கிரகங்களையும், அசேரா விக்கிரக தூணையும் செய்தார்கள். எல்லா நட்சத்திரக் கூட்டங்களையும் வணங்கி, பாகாலையும் வழிபட்டார்கள்.
17 And they made their sonnes and their daughters passe thorowe the fire, and vsed witchcraft and inchantments, yea, solde them selues to doe euill in the sight of the Lord, to anger him.
தங்கள் மகன்களையும், மகள்களையும் நெருப்பில் பலியிட்டார்கள். குறிகேட்டு சகுனம் பார்த்தல், மாயவித்தை முதலிய வழக்கங்களில் ஈடுபட்டு, யெகோவாவின் பார்வையில் தீய செயல்களைச் செய்வதற்குத் தங்களை விற்று யெகோவாவைக் கோபமூட்டினார்கள்.
18 Therefore the Lord was exceeding wroth with Israel, and put them out of his sight, and none was left but the tribe of Iudah onely.
இதனால் யெகோவா இஸ்ரயேலரில் அதிக கோபங்கொண்டு தமது சமுகத்திலிருந்து அவர்களை அகற்றிவிட்டார். யூதா கோத்திரம் மட்டுமே மீதியாயிருந்தது.
19 Yet Iudah kept not the commandements of the Lord their God, but walked according to the facion of Israel, which they vsed.
யூதாவுங்கூட தங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவின் கட்டளைகளைக் கைக்கொள்ளவில்லை. அவர்கள் இஸ்ரயேலர் அறிமுகப்படுத்திய நடைமுறைகளைப் பின்பற்றினர்.
20 Therefore the Lord cast off all the seede of Israel, and afflicted them, and deliuered them into the handes of spoylers, vntill he had cast them out of his sight.
இதனால் யெகோவா இஸ்ரயேலர் அனைவரையும் வெறுத்துத் தள்ளினார். அவர்களை அவர் துன்பத்துக்குள்ளாக்கி, தமது சமுகத்திலிருந்து முழுவதுமாகத் துரத்துண்டு போகும்வரையும் கொள்ளையிடுபவர்களின் கையில் அவர்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.
21 For he cut off Israel from the house of Dauid, and they made Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat King: and Ieroboam drewe Israel away from following the Lord, and made them sinne a great sinne.
தாவீதின் வம்சத்திலிருந்து யெகோவா இஸ்ரயேலரை அகற்றியதும், அவர்கள் நேபாத்தின் மகன் யெரொபெயாமை தங்களுக்கு அரசனாக்கினார்கள். யெரொபெயாமோ இஸ்ரயேலை யெகோவாவைப் பின்பற்றுவதிலிருந்து வழிவிலகச் செய்து அவர்களைப் பெரும்பாவமொன்றைச் செய்யவும் தூண்டினான்.
22 For the children of Israel walked in all the sinnes of Ieroboam, which he did, and departed not therefrom,
இஸ்ரயேலர் யெரொபெயாம் செய்த எல்லாப் பாவங்களையும் தொடர்ந்து செய்தார்கள். அவற்றைவிட்டு விலகவில்லை.
23 Vntill the Lord put Israel away out of his sight, as he had said by all his seruants the Prophets, and caryed Israel away out of their land to Asshur vnto this day.
யெகோவா தமது பணியாளர்களான இறைவாக்கினர்மூலம் எச்சரித்திருந்தபடியே, அவர்களைத் தமது முன்னிருந்து நீக்கிப்போடும்வரை அவர்கள் இவற்றைவிட்டு விலகவில்லை. எனவே இஸ்ரயேலர் தங்கள் சொந்த நாட்டிலிருந்து அசீரியாவுக்கு நாடுகடத்தப்பட்டார்கள். அவர்கள் இன்றும் அங்கேயே இருக்கிறார்கள்.
24 And the King of Asshur brought folke from Babel, and from Cuthah, and from Aua, and from Hamath, and from Sepharuaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria in steade of the children of Israel: so they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.
அசீரிய அரசன், பாபிலோனிலிருந்தும், கூத்தா, ஆவா, ஆமாத், செப்பர்வாயீம் ஆகிய இடங்களிலிருந்தும் மனிதர்களைக் கொண்டுவந்து சமாரியாவின் பட்டணங்களில் இஸ்ரயேலருக்குப் பதிலாக குடியேற்றினான். அவர்கள் சமாரியாவைத் தங்களுடைய உடைமையாக்கிக் கொண்டு அந்தப் பட்டணங்களிலே வாழ்ந்தார்கள்.
25 And at the beginning of their dwelling there, they feared not the Lord: therefore the Lord sent lions among them, which slewe them.
அவர்கள் முதன்முதலாக அங்கு வந்து வாழ்ந்தபோது யெகோவாவை வழிபடவில்லை. அதனால் யெகோவா அவர்களின் மத்தியில் சிங்கங்களை அனுப்பினார். அவை அவர்களில் சிலரைக் கொன்றுபோட்டன.
26 Wherefore they spake to the King of Asshur, saying, The nations which thou hast remoued, and placed in the cities of Samaria, knowe not the maner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and behold, they slay them, because they knowe not the maner of the God of the land.
அப்பொழுது, “நீர் நாடுகடத்தி சமாரியா பட்டணங்களில் குடியேற்றிய மக்களுக்கு, இந்த நாட்டின் தெய்வத்தை எப்படி வழிபடவேண்டுமென்று தெரியவில்லை. இந்த நாட்டு தெய்வத்திற்கு என்ன செய்யவேண்டும் என்று அறியாதபடியால் அவர் சிங்கங்களை அவர்கள் மத்தியில் அனுப்பியிருக்கிறார். அவை அவர்களைக் கொல்கின்றன” என்று அசீரிய அரசனுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.
27 Then the King of Asshur commanded, saying, Carie thither one of the Priestes whome ye brought thence, and let him goe and dwell there, and teache them the maner of the God of the countrey.
அப்பொழுது அசீரிய அரசன் அவர்களிடம், “சமாரியாவிலிருந்து வெளியேற்றப்பட்ட ஆசாரியர்களில் ஒருவனை அங்கு வாழ்வதற்காகத் திரும்பக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு போங்கள். அவன் அங்கு வசித்து அந்நாட்டின் தெய்வத்தை எப்படி வணங்க வேண்டுமென்று அவர்களுக்குக் கற்றுக் கொடுக்கட்டும்” என்று கட்டளையிட்டான்.
28 So one of the Priestes, which they had caryed from Samaria, came and dwelt in Beth-el, and taught them how they shoulde feare the Lord.
அவ்வாறே சமாரியாவிலிருந்து நாடுகடத்தப்பட்ட ஆசாரியர்களில் ஒருவன் பெத்தேலுக்கு வந்து அங்கே வாழ்ந்து அவர்களுக்கு யெகோவாவை எப்படி வழிபடவேண்டுமென்று கற்பித்தான்.
29 Howbeit euery nation made their gods, and put them in the houses of the hie places, which the Samaritanes had made, euery nation in their cities, wherein they dwelt.
ஆனாலும் ஒவ்வொரு நாட்டினரின் மக்கள் குழுவும் தாங்கள் குடியமர்த்தப்பட்ட அநேக பட்டணங்களில், அவரவருடைய சொந்த தெய்வங்களை உருவாக்கி சமாரியரினால் கட்டப்பட்ட உயரமான வழிபாட்டு மேடைகளிலும், கோயில்களிலும் அவற்றை வைத்தார்கள்.
30 For the men of Babel made Succoth-Benoth: and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,
பாபிலோன் பட்டண மனிதர் சுக்கோத் பெனோத் தெய்வத்தையும், கூத் பட்டணத்து மனிதர் நேர்கால் தெய்வத்தையும், ஆமாத் பட்டணத்து மனிதர் அசிமா தெய்வத்தையும்,
31 And the Auims made Nibhaz, and Tartak: and the Sepharuims burnt their children in the fire to Adrammelech, and Anammelech the gods of Sepharuaim.
ஆவீம் பட்டணத்து மனிதர் நிபேகாஸ் தெய்வத்தையும், தர்காக் தெய்வத்தையும் உருவங்களாகச் செய்தனர். செப்பர்வியர் தங்கள் செப்பர்வாயிமின் தெய்வங்களான அத்ரமெலேக்கு, அன்னமெலேக்கு என்னும் தெய்வங்களுக்கு தங்கள் பிள்ளைகளையும் நெருப்பில் பலி செலுத்தினார்கள்.
32 Thus they feared the Lord, and appoynted out Priestes out of them selues for the hie places, who prepared for them sacrifices in the houses of the hie places.
அவர்கள் யெகோவாவை வழிபட்டார்கள். ஆனாலும், வழிபாட்டு மேடைகளிலுள்ள கோவில்களில் தங்கள் பூசாரிகளாகப் பணிசெய்வதற்கு தங்கள் மக்களிலிருந்து பலதரப்பட்டவர்களையும் நியமித்தார்கள்.
33 They feared the Lord, but serued their gods after the maner of the nations whome they caryed thence.
அவர்கள் யெகோவாவை வழிபட்டாலும், தாங்கள் விட்டுவந்த நாட்டினரின் முறைகளுக்கேற்ப தங்கள் சொந்தத் தெய்வங்களுக்கும் பணிசெய்து வந்தார்கள்.
34 Vnto this day they doe after the olde maner: they neyther feare God, neyther doe after their ordinances, nor after their customes, nor after the Lawe, nor after the commandement, which the Lord commanded the children of Iaakob, whom he named Israel,
அவர்கள் இன்றுவரை தங்கள் முந்தைய கிரியைகளுக்கேற்றபடியே செய்து வருகிறார்கள். ஆனால் யெகோவாவை உண்மையாக வழிபடவோ, அவர் இஸ்ரயேல் என்று பெயரிட்ட யாக்கோபின் சந்ததிகளுக்குக் கொடுத்த விதிமுறைகளையும், ஒழுங்குவிதிகளையும், சட்டங்களையும், கட்டளைகளையும் கைக்கொள்ளவோ இல்லை.
35 And with whom the Lord had made a couenant, and charged them, saying, Feare none other gods, nor bowe your selues to them, nor serue them, nor sacrifice to them:
யெகோவா இஸ்ரயேலரோடு உடன்படிக்கை செய்தபோது அவர்களிடம், “நீங்கள் வேறு தெய்வங்களை வழிபடவோ, தலைவணங்கவோ, அவைகளுக்குப் பணிசெய்யவோ, பலி செலுத்தவோ வேண்டாம்.
36 But feare the Lord which brought you out of the land of Egypt with great power, and a stretched out arme: him feare ye, and worshippe him, and sacrifice to him.
எகிப்திலிருந்து பலத்த ஆற்றலினாலும், நீட்டப்பட்ட புயத்தினாலும் உங்களைக் கொண்டுவந்த யெகோவாவையே நீங்கள் வழிபடவேண்டும். அவரை வணங்கி அவருக்கு மட்டுமே பலிசெலுத்தவேண்டும்.
37 Also keepe ye diligently the statutes and the ordinances, and the Lawe, and the commandement, which he wrote for you, that ye do them continually, and feare not other gods.
அவர் உங்களுக்கு எழுதிக்கொடுத்த விதிமுறைகளையும், ஒழுங்குவிதிகளையும், சட்டங்களையும், கட்டளைகளையும் நீங்கள் எப்பொழுதும் கைக்கொள்ளக் கவனமாயிருக்க வேண்டும். வேறு தெய்வங்களை வழிபட வேண்டாம்.
38 And forget not the couenant that I haue made with you, neither feare ye other gods,
நான் உங்களுடன் செய்த உடன்படிக்கையை மறவாமலும், வேறு தெய்வங்களை வழிபடாமலும் இருங்கள்.
39 But feare the Lord your God, and he will deliuer you out of the handes of all your enemies.
அதற்குப் பதிலாக உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவை மட்டுமே வழிபடுங்கள். அவரே உங்களுடைய எல்லாப் பகைவர்களின் கையிலிருந்தும் உங்களை விடுதலையாக்குவார்” என்று கட்டளையிட்டிருந்தார்.
40 Howbeit they obeyed not, but did after their olde custome.
ஆனாலும் அவர்களோ செவிகொடுக்காமல் தொடர்ந்து தங்கள் பழைய வழக்கங்களையே செய்துவந்தார்கள்.
41 So these nations feared the Lord, and serued their images also: so did their children, and their childrens children: as did their fathers, so do they vnto this day.
இந்த மக்கள் யெகோவாவை வழிபட்டுக் கொண்டிருக்கும்போதே தங்கள் விக்கிரகங்களுக்கும் பணிசெய்தார்கள். இன்றுவரை தங்கள் முற்பிதாக்கள் செய்ததுபோல அவர்கள் பிள்ளைகளும், பிள்ளைகளின் பிள்ளைகளும் தொடர்ந்து செய்து வருகிறார்கள்.
