2 Kings 14
1 The second yeere of Ioash sonne of Iehoahaz King of Israel reigned Amaziah the sonne of Ioash King of Iudah.
El año segundo de Jeoás, hijo de Joacaz, rey de Israel, comenzó a reinar Amasías, hijo de Joás, rey de Judá.
2 He was fiue and twentie yeere olde when he began to reigne, and reigned nine and twentie yeere in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Iehoadan of Ierusalem.
Tenía 25 años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó 29 años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre fue Joadán, de Jerusalén.
3 And he did vprightly in the sight of the Lord, yet not like Dauid his father, but did according to all that Ioash his father had done.
Hizo lo recto ante Yavé, aunque no como David, su antepasado. Hizo conforme a todo lo que hizo Joás su padre.
4 Notwithstanding the hie places were not taken away: for as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense in the hie places.
Sin embargo, los lugares altos no fueron quitados, porque el pueblo aún sacrificaba y quemaba incienso en los lugares altos.
5 And when the kingdome was confirmed in his hand, he slewe his seruants which had killed the King his father.
Sucedió que cuando el reino se afirmó en sus manos, mató a los esclavos que asesinaron a su padre el rey.
6 But the children of those that did slay him, he slewe not, according vnto that that is written in the booke of the Lawe of Moses, wherein the Lord commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children put to death for the fathers: but euery man shall be put to death for his owne sinne.
Pero no mató a los hijos de los asesinos, según lo escrito en el Rollo de la Ley de Moisés, donde Yavé mandó: No morirán los padres por los hijos, ni los hijos morirán por los padres, sino que cada cual morirá por su pecado.
7 He slew also of Edom in the valley of salt ten thousand, and tooke the citie of Sela by warre, and called the name thereof Ioktheel vnto this day.
Él mató a 10.000 de Edom en el valle de la Sal. Durante la guerra conquistó Sela y la llamó Jocteel, hasta hoy.
8 Then Amaziah sent messengers to Iehoash the sonne of Iehoahaz, sonne of Iehu King of Israel, saying, Come, let vs see one another in the face.
Amasías envió mensajeros a Jeoás, hijo de Joacaz, hijo de Jehú, rey de Israel, y le dijo: ¡Ven, veámonos las caras!
9 Then Iehoash the King of Israel sent to Amaziah King of Iudah, saying, The thistle that is in Lebanon, sent to the cedar that is in Lebanon, saying, Giue thy daughter to my sonne to wife: and the wilde beast that was in Lebanon, went and trode downe the thistle.
Jeoás, rey de Israel, envió a decir a Amasías, rey de Judá: El cardo del Líbano envió a decir al cedro del Líbano: Da tu hija como esposa a mi hijo. Pasó una fiera salvaje del Líbano y pisoteó el cardo.
10 Because thou hast smitten Edom, thine heart hath made thee proud: bragge of glory, and tary at home. why doest thou prouoke to thine hurt, that thou shouldest fall, and Iudah with thee?
Ciertamente derrotaste a Edom, y tu corazón se enalteció. ¡Ufánate de eso y quédate en tu casa! ¿Por qué provocas una calamidad en la que puedes caer tú y Judá contigo?
11 But Amaziah would not heare: therefore Iehoash King of Israel went vp: and he and Amaziah King of Iudah sawe one another in the face at Beth-shemesh which is in Iudah.
Pero Amasías no escuchó, por lo cual Jeoás, rey de Israel, salió y se vieron las caras, él y Amasías, rey de Judá, en Bet-semes, que es de Judá.
12 And Iudah was put to the worse before Israel, and they fledde euery man to their tents.
Judá fue derrotado por Israel, y huyeron cada uno a su tienda.
13 But Iehoash King of Israel tooke Amaziah King of Iudah, the sonne of Iehoash the sonne of Ahaziah, at Beth-shemesh, and came to Ierusalem, and brake downe the wall of Ierusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, foure hundreth cubites.
Jeoás, rey de Israel, capturó a Amasías, rey de Judá, hijo de Joás, hijo de Ocozías, en Bet-semes. Entró en Jerusalén y rompió el muro de Jerusalén desde la puerta de Efraín hasta la puerta de la esquina, 180 metros en total.
14 And he tooke all the gold and siluer, and all the vessels that were found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the Kings house, and the children that were in hostage, and returned to Samaria.
Después tomó todo el oro, la plata y todos los utensilios que estaban en la Casa de Yavé y en los tesoros de la casa real. Tomó rehenes y volvió a Samaria.
15 Concerning the rest of the acts of Iehoash which he did and his valiant deedes, and how he fought with Amaziah King of Iudah, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
El resto de los hechos que realizó Jeoás, su valor y cómo luchó contra Amasías, rey de Judá, ¿no están escritos en el rollo de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
16 And Iehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried at Samaria among the Kings of Israel: and Ieroboam his sonne reigned in his stead.
Jeoás descansó con sus antepasados, y fue sepultado en Samaria con los reyes de Israel. Reinó en su lugar su hijo Jeroboam.
17 And Amaziah the sonne of Ioash King of Iudah, liued after the death of Iehoash sonne of Iehoahaz King of Israel fifteene yeere.
Amasías, hijo de Joás, rey de Judá, vivió 15 años después de la muerte de Jeoás, hijo de Joacaz, rey de Israel.
18 Concerning the rest of the actes of Amaziah, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
Los demás hechos de Amasías, ¿no están escritos en el rollo de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
19 But they wrought treason against him in Ierusalem, and he fled to Lachish, but they sent after him to Lachish, and slewe him there.
Conspiraron contra él en Jerusalén. Él huyó a Laquis, pero lo persiguieron hasta Laquis, y allí lo mataron.
20 And they brought him on horses, and he was buried at Ierusalem with his fathers in the citie of Dauid.
Lo llevaron a Jerusalén sobre caballos, y fue sepultado con sus antepasados en la Ciudad de David.
21 Then all the people of Iudah tooke Azariah which was sixteene yeere olde, and made him King for his father Amaziah.
Entonces todo el pueblo de Judá tomó a Azarías, quien tenía 16 años, y lo llevaron a reinar en lugar de su padre Amasías.
22 He built Elath, and restored it to Iudah, after that the King slept with his fathers.
Él reedificó Elat y la restituyó a Judá, después que el rey descansó con sus antepasados.
23 In the fifteenth yeere of Amaziah the sonne of Ioash King of Iudah, was Ieroboam the sonne of Ioash made King ouer Israel in Samaria, and reigned one and fourtie yeere.
El año 15 de Amasías, hijo de Joás, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Jeroboam, hijo de Jeoás, rey de Israel, en Samaria, y reinó 41 años.
24 And he did euill in the sight of the Lord: for he departed not from all the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne.
Hizo lo malo ante Yavé, y no se apartó de todos los pecados de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, con los cuales estimuló a pecar a Israel.
25 He restored the coast of Israel, from the entring of Hamath, vnto the Sea of the wildernesse, according to the worde of the Lord God of Israel, which he spake by his seruant Ionah the sonne of Amittai the Prophet, which was of Gath Hepher.
Él restableció la frontera de Israel desde la entrada de Hamat hasta el mar del Arabá, según la Palabra de Yavé, ʼElohim de Israel, que dio por medio de su esclavo Jonás, hijo de Amitay, el profeta de Gat-hefer.
26 For the Lord saw the exceeding bitter affliction of Israel, so that there was none shutte vp, nor any left, neyther yet any that could helpe Israel.
Pues Yavé vio la amarga aflicción de Israel, la cual padecían tanto esclavos como libres, sin que alguien ayudara a Israel.
27 Yet the Lord had not decreed to put out the name of Israel from vnder the heauen: therefore he preserued them by the hand of Ieroboam the sonne of Ioash.
Yavé determinó no borrar el nombre de Israel de debajo del cielo. Por eso los libró por mano de Jeroboam, hijo de Joás.
28 Concerning the rest of the actes of Ieroboam, and all that he did, and his valiant deedes, and how he fought, and how he restored Damascus, and Hamath to Iudah in Israel, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
Todo lo que hizo Jeroboam, su valor con que luchó y cómo recuperó a Damasco y a Hamat (que fueron de Judá) para Israel, ¿no están escritos en el rollo de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
29 So Ieroboam slept with his fathers, euen with the Kings of Israel, and Zachariah his sonne reigned in his steade.
Jeroboam descansó con sus antepasados, con los reyes de Israel, y su hijo Zacarías reinó en su lugar.
