2 Kings 14
1 The second yeere of Ioash sonne of Iehoahaz King of Israel reigned Amaziah the sonne of Ioash King of Iudah.
No ano segundo de Joás filho de Jeoacaz rei de Israel, começou a reinar Amazias filho de Joás rei de Judá.
2 He was fiue and twentie yeere olde when he began to reigne, and reigned nine and twentie yeere in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Iehoadan of Ierusalem.
Quando começou a reinar era de vinte e cinco anos, e reinou vinte e nove anos em Jerusalém: o nome de sua mãe foi Jeoadã, de Jerusalém.
3 And he did vprightly in the sight of the Lord, yet not like Dauid his father, but did according to all that Ioash his father had done.
E ele fez o que era correto aos olhos do SENHOR, ainda que não como Davi seu pai: fez conforme a todas as coisas que havia feito Joás seu pai.
4 Notwithstanding the hie places were not taken away: for as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense in the hie places.
Contudo isso os altos não foram tirados; que o povo ainda sacrificava e queimava incenso nos altos.
5 And when the kingdome was confirmed in his hand, he slewe his seruants which had killed the King his father.
E logo que o reino foi confirmado em sua mão, feriu a seus servos, os que haviam matado ao rei seu pai.
6 But the children of those that did slay him, he slewe not, according vnto that that is written in the booke of the Lawe of Moses, wherein the Lord commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children put to death for the fathers: but euery man shall be put to death for his owne sinne.
Mas não matou aos filhos dos que lhe mataram, conforme o que está escrito no livro da lei de Moisés, de onde o SENHOR mandou, dizendo: Não matarão aos pais pelos filhos, nem aos filhos pelos pais: mas cada um morrerá por seu pecado.
7 He slew also of Edom in the valley of salt ten thousand, and tooke the citie of Sela by warre, and called the name thereof Ioktheel vnto this day.
Este feriu também dez mil edomitas no vale das salinas, e tomou a Selá por guerra, e chamou-a Jocteel, até hoje.
8 Then Amaziah sent messengers to Iehoash the sonne of Iehoahaz, sonne of Iehu King of Israel, saying, Come, let vs see one another in the face.
Então Amazias enviou embaixadores a Joás, filho de Jeoacaz filho de Jeú, rei de Israel, dizendo: Vem, e vejamo-nos face a face.
9 Then Iehoash the King of Israel sent to Amaziah King of Iudah, saying, The thistle that is in Lebanon, sent to the cedar that is in Lebanon, saying, Giue thy daughter to my sonne to wife: and the wilde beast that was in Lebanon, went and trode downe the thistle.
E Joás rei de Israel enviou a Amazias rei de Judá esta resposta: O cardo que está no Líbano enviou a dizer ao cedro que está no Líbano: Da tua filha por mulher a meu filho. E passaram os animais selvagens que estão no Líbano, e pisaram o cardo.
10 Because thou hast smitten Edom, thine heart hath made thee proud: bragge of glory, and tary at home. why doest thou prouoke to thine hurt, that thou shouldest fall, and Iudah with thee?
Certamente feriste a Edom, e teu coração te envaideceu: gloria-te, pois, mas fica-te em tua casa. E por que te intrometerás em um mal, para que caias tu, e Judá contigo?
11 But Amaziah would not heare: therefore Iehoash King of Israel went vp: and he and Amaziah King of Iudah sawe one another in the face at Beth-shemesh which is in Iudah.
Mas Amazias não deu ouvidos; pelo que subiu Joás rei de Israel, e vieram-se de rosto ele e Amazias rei de Judá, em Bete-Semes, que é de Judá.
12 And Iudah was put to the worse before Israel, and they fledde euery man to their tents.
E Judá caiu diante de Israel, e fugiram cada um a suas moradas.
13 But Iehoash King of Israel tooke Amaziah King of Iudah, the sonne of Iehoash the sonne of Ahaziah, at Beth-shemesh, and came to Ierusalem, and brake downe the wall of Ierusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, foure hundreth cubites.
Além disso Joás rei de Israel tomou a Amazias rei de Judá, filho de Joás filho de Acazias, em Bete-Semes: e veio a Jerusalém, e rompeu o muro de Jerusalém desde a porta de Efraim até a porta da esquina, quatrocentos côvados.
14 And he tooke all the gold and siluer, and all the vessels that were found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the Kings house, and the children that were in hostage, and returned to Samaria.
E tomou todo o ouro e a prata, e todos os vasos que foram achados na casa do SENHOR, e nos tesouros da casa do rei, e os filhos em reféns, e voltou-se a Samaria.
15 Concerning the rest of the acts of Iehoash which he did and his valiant deedes, and how he fought with Amaziah King of Iudah, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
Os demais dos feitos de Joás que executou, e suas façanhas, e como lutou contra Amasias rei de Judá, não estão escritos no livro das crônicas dos reis de Israel?
16 And Iehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried at Samaria among the Kings of Israel: and Ieroboam his sonne reigned in his stead.
E descansou Joás com seus pais, e foi sepultado em Samaria com os reis de Israel; e reinou em seu lugar Jeroboão seu filho.
17 And Amaziah the sonne of Ioash King of Iudah, liued after the death of Iehoash sonne of Iehoahaz King of Israel fifteene yeere.
E Amazias, filho de Joás, rei de Judá, viveu depois da morte de Joás filho de Jeoacaz rei de Israel, quinze anos.
18 Concerning the rest of the actes of Amaziah, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
Os demais dos feitos de Amazias não estão escritos no livro das crônicas dos reis de Judá?
19 But they wrought treason against him in Ierusalem, and he fled to Lachish, but they sent after him to Lachish, and slewe him there.
E fizeram conspiração contra ele em Jerusalém, e ele fugiu a Laquis; mas enviaram atrás dele a Laquis, e ali o mataram.
20 And they brought him on horses, and he was buried at Ierusalem with his fathers in the citie of Dauid.
Trouxeram-no logo sobre cavalos, e sepultaram-no em Jerusalém com seus pais, na cidade de Davi.
21 Then all the people of Iudah tooke Azariah which was sixteene yeere olde, and made him King for his father Amaziah.
Então todo o povo de Judá tomou a Azarias, que era de dezesseis anos, e fizeram-no rei em lugar de Amasias seu pai.
22 He built Elath, and restored it to Iudah, after that the King slept with his fathers.
Ele edificou Elate, e a restituiu a Judá, depois que o rei descansou com seus pais.
23 In the fifteenth yeere of Amaziah the sonne of Ioash King of Iudah, was Ieroboam the sonne of Ioash made King ouer Israel in Samaria, and reigned one and fourtie yeere.
O ano quinze de Amazias filho de Joás rei de Judá, começou a reinar Jeroboão filho de Joás sobre Israel em Samaria; e reinou quarenta e um anos.
24 And he did euill in the sight of the Lord: for he departed not from all the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne.
E fez o que era mau aos olhos do SENHOR, e não se separou de todos os pecados de Jeroboão filho de Nebate, o que fez pecar a Israel.
25 He restored the coast of Israel, from the entring of Hamath, vnto the Sea of the wildernesse, according to the worde of the Lord God of Israel, which he spake by his seruant Ionah the sonne of Amittai the Prophet, which was of Gath Hepher.
Ele restituiu os termos de Israel desde a entrada de Hamate até o mar da planície, conforme à palavra do SENHOR Deus de Israel, a qual havia ele falado por seu servo Jonas filho de Amitai, profeta que foi de Gate-Hefer.
26 For the Lord saw the exceeding bitter affliction of Israel, so that there was none shutte vp, nor any left, neyther yet any that could helpe Israel.
Porquanto o SENHOR olhou a muito amarga aflição de Israel; que não havia escravo nem livre, nem quem desse ajuda a Israel;
27 Yet the Lord had not decreed to put out the name of Israel from vnder the heauen: therefore he preserued them by the hand of Ieroboam the sonne of Ioash.
E o SENHOR não havia determinado apagar o nome de Israel de debaixo do céu: portanto, os salvou por mão de Jeroboão filho de Joás.
28 Concerning the rest of the actes of Ieroboam, and all that he did, and his valiant deedes, and how he fought, and how he restored Damascus, and Hamath to Iudah in Israel, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
E o demais dos feitos de Jeroboão, e todas as coisas que fez, e sua valentia, e todas as guerras que fez, e como restituiu a Judá em Israel a Damasco e a Hamate, não está escrito no livro das crônicas dos reis de Israel?
29 So Ieroboam slept with his fathers, euen with the Kings of Israel, and Zachariah his sonne reigned in his steade.
E descansou Jeroboão com seus pais, os reis de Israel, e reinou em seu lugar Zacarias seu filho.
