2 Kings 14
1 The second yeere of Ioash sonne of Iehoahaz King of Israel reigned Amaziah the sonne of Ioash King of Iudah.
No segundo ano de Jehoás, filho de Joachaz, rei de Israel, começou a reinar Amasias, filho de Joás, rei de Judá.
2 He was fiue and twentie yeere olde when he began to reigne, and reigned nine and twentie yeere in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Iehoadan of Ierusalem.
Tinha vinte e cinco anos quando começou a reinar, e vinte e nove anos reinou em Jerusalém. E era o nome de sua mãe Joaddan, de Jerusalém.
3 And he did vprightly in the sight of the Lord, yet not like Dauid his father, but did according to all that Ioash his father had done.
E fez o que era reto aos olhos do Senhor, ainda que não como seu pai David: fez porém conforme tudo o que fizera Joás seu pai.
4 Notwithstanding the hie places were not taken away: for as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense in the hie places.
Tão somente os altos se não tiraram; porque ainda o povo sacrificava e queimava incenso nos altos.
5 And when the kingdome was confirmed in his hand, he slewe his seruants which had killed the King his father.
Sucedeu pois que, sendo já o reino confirmado na sua mão, matou os seus servos que tinham morto o rei seu pai.
6 But the children of those that did slay him, he slewe not, according vnto that that is written in the booke of the Lawe of Moses, wherein the Lord commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children put to death for the fathers: but euery man shall be put to death for his owne sinne.
Porém os filhos dos matadores não matou, como está escrito no livro da lei de Moisés, no qual o Senhor deu ordem, dizendo: Não matarão os pais por causa dos filhos, e os filhos não matarão por causa dos pais; mas cada um será morto pelo seu pecado.
7 He slew also of Edom in the valley of salt ten thousand, and tooke the citie of Sela by warre, and called the name thereof Ioktheel vnto this day.
Este feriu a dez mil edomitas no vale do Sal, e tomou a Sela na guerra: e chamou o seu nome Jocteel, até ao dia de hoje.
8 Then Amaziah sent messengers to Iehoash the sonne of Iehoahaz, sonne of Iehu King of Israel, saying, Come, let vs see one another in the face.
Então Amasias, enviou mensageiros a Jehoás, filho de Joachaz, filho de Jehu, rei de Israel, dizendo: Vem, vejamo-nos cara a cara.
9 Then Iehoash the King of Israel sent to Amaziah King of Iudah, saying, The thistle that is in Lebanon, sent to the cedar that is in Lebanon, saying, Giue thy daughter to my sonne to wife: and the wilde beast that was in Lebanon, went and trode downe the thistle.
Porém Jehoás, rei de Israel, enviou a Amasias, rei de Judá, dizendo: O cardo que está no líbano enviou ao cedro que está no líbano, dizendo: Dá tua filha por mulher a meu filho: mas os animais do campo, que eram no líbano, passaram e pizaram o cardo.
10 Because thou hast smitten Edom, thine heart hath made thee proud: bragge of glory, and tary at home. why doest thou prouoke to thine hurt, that thou shouldest fall, and Iudah with thee?
Na verdade feriste os moabitas, e o teu coração se ensoberbeceu: glória-te disso, e fica em tua casa; e porque te entremeterias no mal, para caires tu, e Judá contigo?
11 But Amaziah would not heare: therefore Iehoash King of Israel went vp: and he and Amaziah King of Iudah sawe one another in the face at Beth-shemesh which is in Iudah.
Mas Amasias não o ouviu: e subiu Jehoás, rei de Israel, e Amasias, rei de Judá, e viram-se cara a cara, em Beth-semes, que está em Judá.
12 And Iudah was put to the worse before Israel, and they fledde euery man to their tents.
E Judá foi ferido diante de Israel, e fugiu cada um para as suas tendas.
13 But Iehoash King of Israel tooke Amaziah King of Iudah, the sonne of Iehoash the sonne of Ahaziah, at Beth-shemesh, and came to Ierusalem, and brake downe the wall of Ierusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, foure hundreth cubites.
E Jehoás, rei de Israel, tomou a Amasias, rei de Judá, filho de Joás, filho de Achazias, em Beth-semes: e veio a Jerusalém, e rompeu o muro de Jerusalém, desde a porta de Ephraim até à porta da esquina, quatrocentos côvados.
14 And he tooke all the gold and siluer, and all the vessels that were found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the Kings house, and the children that were in hostage, and returned to Samaria.
E tomou todo o ouro e a prata, e todos os vasos que se acharam na casa do Senhor e nos tesouros da casa do rei, como também os reféns: e voltou para Samaria.
15 Concerning the rest of the acts of Iehoash which he did and his valiant deedes, and how he fought with Amaziah King of Iudah, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
Ora o mais dos sucessos de Jehoás, o que fez, e o seu poder, e como pelejou contra Amasias, rei de Judá, porventura não está escrito no livro das crônicas dos reis de Israel?
16 And Iehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried at Samaria among the Kings of Israel: and Ieroboam his sonne reigned in his stead.
E dormiu Jehoás com seus pais, e foi sepultado em Samaria, junto aos reis de Israel: e Jeroboão, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
17 And Amaziah the sonne of Ioash King of Iudah, liued after the death of Iehoash sonne of Iehoahaz King of Israel fifteene yeere.
E viveu Amasias, filho de Jehoás, rei de Judá, depois da morte de Jehoás, filho de Joachaz, rei de Israel, quinze anos.
18 Concerning the rest of the actes of Amaziah, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
Ora o mais dos sucessos de Amasias, porventura não está escrito no livro das crônicas dos reis de Judá?
19 But they wrought treason against him in Ierusalem, and he fled to Lachish, but they sent after him to Lachish, and slewe him there.
E conspiraram contra ele em Jerusalém, e fugiu para Lachis; porém enviaram após ele até Lachis, e o mataram ali.
20 And they brought him on horses, and he was buried at Ierusalem with his fathers in the citie of Dauid.
E o trouxeram em cima de cavalos: e o sepultaram em Jerusalém, junto a seus pais, na cidade de David.
21 Then all the people of Iudah tooke Azariah which was sixteene yeere olde, and made him King for his father Amaziah.
E todo o povo de Judá tomou a Azarias, que já era de dezeseis anos, e o fizeram rei em lugar de Amasias, seu pai.
22 He built Elath, and restored it to Iudah, after that the King slept with his fathers.
Este edificou a Elath, e a restituiu a Judá, depois que o rei dormiu com seus pais.
23 In the fifteenth yeere of Amaziah the sonne of Ioash King of Iudah, was Ieroboam the sonne of Ioash made King ouer Israel in Samaria, and reigned one and fourtie yeere.
No décimo quinto ano de Amasias, filho de Joás, rei de Judá, começou a reinar em Samaria, Jeroboão, filho de Jehoás rei de Israel e reinou quarenta e um anos.
24 And he did euill in the sight of the Lord: for he departed not from all the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne.
E fez o que parecia mal aos olhos do Senhor: nunca se apartou de nenhum dos pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nebat, que fez pecar a Israel.
25 He restored the coast of Israel, from the entring of Hamath, vnto the Sea of the wildernesse, according to the worde of the Lord God of Israel, which he spake by his seruant Ionah the sonne of Amittai the Prophet, which was of Gath Hepher.
Também este restituiu os termos de Israel, desde a entrada de Hamath até ao mar da planície: conforme a palavra do Senhor, Deus de Israel, a qual falara pelo ministério de seu servo Jonas, filho do profeta Amithai, o qual era de Gath-hepher.
26 For the Lord saw the exceeding bitter affliction of Israel, so that there was none shutte vp, nor any left, neyther yet any that could helpe Israel.
Porque viu o Senhor que a miséria de Israel era mui amarga, e que nem havia encerrado, nem desamparado, nem quem ajudasse a Israel.
27 Yet the Lord had not decreed to put out the name of Israel from vnder the heauen: therefore he preserued them by the hand of Ieroboam the sonne of Ioash.
E ainda não falara o Senhor em apagar o nome de Israel de debaixo do céu; porém os livrou por mão de Jeroboão, filho de Joás
28 Concerning the rest of the actes of Ieroboam, and all that he did, and his valiant deedes, and how he fought, and how he restored Damascus, and Hamath to Iudah in Israel, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
Ora o mais dos sucessos de Jeroboão, tudo quanto fez, e seu poder, como pelejou, e como restituiu a Damasco e a Hamath, pertencentes a Judá, sendo rei em Israel, porventura não está escrito no livro das crônicas de Israel?
29 So Ieroboam slept with his fathers, euen with the Kings of Israel, and Zachariah his sonne reigned in his steade.
E Jeroboão dormiu com seus pais, com os reis de Israel: e Zacarias, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
