2 Kings 10
1 Ahab had nowe seuentie sonnes in Samaria. And Iehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria vnto the rulers of Izreel, and to the Elders, and to the bringers vp of Ahabs children, to this effect,
Yeroo sanatti Ahaab ilmaan torbaatama Samaariyaa keessaa qaba ture. Kanaafuu Yehuun xalayoota barreessee qondaaltota Yizriʼeelitti, maanguddootattii fi guddiftoota ilmaan Ahaabitti gara Samaariyaatti erge. Inni akkana jedhe;
2 Nowe when this letter commeth to you, (for ye haue with you your masters sonnes, yee haue with you both charets and horses, and a defenced citie, and armour)
“Akkuma xalayaan kun isin gaʼeen, waan ilmaan gooftaa keessanii isin bira jiranii fi waan isinis gaariiwwanii fi fardeen, magaalaa jabeeffamee ijaaramee fi miʼa lolaa qabdaniif,
3 Consider therefore which of your masters sonnes is best and most meete, and set him on his fathers throne, and fight for your masters house.
ilmaan gooftaa keessanii keessaa kan warra kaan caaluu fi kan ni mala jettanii yaaddan filadhaatii teessoo abbaa isaa irra teessisaa. Ergasiis mana abbaa keessaniitiif lolaa.”
4 But they were exceedingly afraid, and saide, Behold two Kings coulde not stande before him, how shall we then stand?
Isaan garuu akka malee sodaatanii, “Yoo mootonni lama isa hin dandaʼin nu akkamiin isa dandeenya?” waliin jedhan.
5 And he that was gouernour of Ahabs house, and he that ruled the citie, and the Elders, and the bringers vp of the children sent to Iehu, saying, We are thy seruants, and will doe all that thou shalt bid vs: we will make no King: do what seemeth good to thee.
Kanaafuu bulchaan masaraa mootummaatii fi shuumiin magaalattii, maanguddoonnii fi guddiftoonni, “Nu garboota kee ti; waan ati jettu hunda ni hojjenna. Nu nama tokko illee mootii goonee hin filannu; ati mataan kee waanuma jaallatte godhi” jedhanii ergaa kana Yehuutti ergan.
6 Then he wrote another letter to them, saying, If ye be mine, and wil obey my voyce, take the heads of ye men that are your masters sonnes, and come to me to Izreel by to morowe this time. (Nowe the Kings sonnes, euen seuentie persons were with the great men of the citie, which brought them vp)
Yehuun immoo, “Isin yoo garee koo taatanii fi yoo naa ajajamtan, mataa ilmaan gooftaa keessanii kukkutaatii bori yeroo kanatti Yizriʼeelitti naa fidaa” jedhee xalayaa lammaffaa barreesse. Yeroo kanatti ilmaan mootii torbaatamanuu namoota magaalaa sanaa bebeekamoo kanneen isaan guddisan bira turan.
7 And when the letter came to them, they tooke the Kings sonnes, and slewe the seuentie persons, and layde their heads in baskets, and sent them vnto him to Izreel.
Yommuu xalayaan sun isaan gaʼetti namoonni kunneen ilmaan mootii torbaatamman sana hundumaa ni gogorraʼan. Mataa isaaniis guubootti naqanii gara Yizriʼeelitti Yehuudhaaf ni ergan.
8 Then there came a messenger and tolde him, saying, They haue brought the heads of the Kings sonnes. And he sayd, Let them lay them on two heapes at the entring in of the gate vntil the morning.
Ergamtichi yommuu deebiʼetti, “Isaan mataa ilmaan mootii fidaniiru” jedhee Yehuutti hime. Yehuun immoo, “Mee balbala ittiin magaalattii seenan duratti iddoo lamatti tuulaatii hamma lafti bariitutti tursaa” jedhee ajaje.
9 And when it was day, he went out, and stood and sayd to all the people, Ye be righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, and slew him: but who slew all these?
Yehuun guyyaa itti aanu ganamaan kaʼee gad baʼe. Fuula namoota hundaa dura dhaabatees akkana jedhe; “Isin yakka hin qabdan. Namni gooftaa kootti malatee isa ajjeese anuma; garuu warra kana hunda eenyutu fixe?
10 Knowe nowe that there shall fall vnto the earth nothing of the word of the Lord, which the Lord spake concerning the house of Ahab: for the Lord hath brought to passe the things that hee spake by his seruant Eliiah.
Kanaafuu akka dubbiin Waaqayyo mana Ahaab irratti dubbate tokko iyyuu lafa hin buune beekaa. Waaqayyo waan karaa garbicha isaa Eeliyaasiin dubbate sana guuteera.”
11 So Iehu slew al that remained of the house of Ahab in Izreel, and all that were great with him, and his familiars and his priestes, so that he let none of his remaine.
Yehuunis akkasiin nama mana Ahaab keessaa Yizriʼeel keessatti hafe kam iyyuu, namoota isaa gurguddaa, michoota isaa kanneen itti dhiʼaatanii fi luboota isaa, utuu nama tokko illee hin hambisin hunda isaanii fixe.
12 And he arose, and departed and came to Samaria. And as Iehu was in the way by an house where the shepheards did shere,
Yehuun ergasii kaʼee Samaariyaa dhaqe. Innis yommuu Beet Eekad gaʼetti,
13 He met with the brethre of Ahaziah king of Iudah, and sayd, Who are ye? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahaziah, and goe downe to salute the children of the King and the children of the Queene.
firoota Ahaaziyaa mootii Yihuudaa keessaa namoota tokko tokko argee, “Isin eenyu?” jedhee gaafate. Isaanis, “Nu firoota Ahaaziyaa; nu maatii mootichaatii fi ilmaan haadha mootichaa dubbisuu dhufne” jedhanii deebisan.
14 And he sayde, Take them aliue. And they tooke them aliue, and slew them at the well beside the house where the sheepe are shorne, euen two and fourtie men, and he left not one of them.
Innis, “Utuma lubbuudhaan jiranuu isaan qabaa!” jedhee ajaje. Kanaafuu utuma isaan lubbuun jiranuu qabanii boolla bishaanii Beet Eekad biratti afurtamii lamaan isaanii gogorraʼan. Inni isaan keessaa nama tokko illee hin hambifne.
15 And when he was departed thence, hee met with Iehonadab the sonne of Rechab comming to meete him, and he blessed him, and sayde to him, Is thine heart vpright, as mine heart is towarde thine? And Iehonadab answered, Yea, doubtlesse. Then giue me thine hande. And when he had giuen him his hande, he tooke him vp to him into the charet.
Erga achii deemee immoo Yehoonaadaab ilma Rekaab utuu inni gara isaa dhufuutti jiruu arge. Yehuunis isa dubbisee, “Akkuma ani gara kee jiru ati gara koo jirta moo?” jedhee isa gaafate. Yehoonaadaabis, “Ani gara kee jira” jedhee deebise. Yehuunis, “Yoo akkas taʼe harka kee natti kenni” jedheen. Innis harka isaa itti kenne. Yehuunis isa gargaaree gaariitti ol isa baase.
16 And he sayde, Come with me, and see the zeale that I haue for the Lord: so they made him ride in his charet.
Yehuun, “Na wajjin kottuutii hinaaffaa ani Waaqayyoof qabu ilaali” jedheen. Ergasiis gaarii isaatiin isa fudhatee deeme.
17 And when he came to Samaria, he slew all that remained vnto Ahab in Samaria, till he had destroyed him, according to the worde of the Lord, which he spake to Eliiah.
Yehuun yommuu Samaariyaa gaʼetti maatii Ahaab keessaa kanneen achitti hafan hunda fixe; innis akkuma dubbii Waaqayyo Eeliyaasitti dubbate sanaatti isaan balleesse.
18 Then Iehu assembled all the people, and sayd vnto them, Ahab serued Baal a litle, but Iehu shall serue him much more.
Ergasii Yehuun saba hunda walitti waamee akkana jedheen; “Ahaab xinnuma Baʼaalin tajaajile. Yehuun garuu guddisee isa tajaajila.
19 Now therefore call vnto me all ye prophets of Baal, all his seruants, and all his priests, and let not a man be lacking: for I haue a great sacrifice for Baal: whosoeuer is lacking, he shall not liue. But Iehu did it by a subtiltie to destroy ye seruats of Baal.
Kanaafuu amma raajota Baʼaal hunda, tajaajiltoota isaa hundaa fi luboota isaa hunda walitti waamaa. Waan ani qalma guddaa isaa Baʼaaliif dhiʼeessuuf tokkoon isaanii iyyuu hin hafin. Namni hafu kam iyyuu siʼachi lubbuudhaan hin jiraatu.” Yehuun garuu tajaajiltoota Baʼaal barbadeesuudhaaf sobee akkas jedhe.
20 And Iehu sayd, Proclaime a solemne assemblie for Baal. And they proclaimed it.
Yehuun, “Ulfina Baʼaaliif jedhaatii yaaʼii waamaa” jedhe. Kanaafuu isaan ni labsan.
21 So Iehu sent vnto all Israel, and all the seruants of Baal came, and there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal, and the house of Baal was full from ende to ende.
Kana irratti inni Israaʼel guutuu keessa ergaa ergee akkasiin tajaajiltoonni Baʼaal hundinuu ni dhufan; tokkoon isaanii iyyuu hin hafne. Isaanis mana waaqeffannaa Baʼaalitti ol galan; manni sunis gama tokkoo hamma gama kaaniitti guutame.
22 Then he said vnto him that had the charge of the vestrie, Bring forth vestments for al the seruants of Baal. And he brought the out vestments.
Yehuunis namicha uffata eeguun, “Tajaajiltoota Baʼaal hundaaf uffata fidi” jedhe. Kanaafuu namichi sun wayyaa fideef.
23 And when Iehu went, and Iehonadab the sonne of Rechab into the house of Baal, he sayde vnto the seruants of Baal, Searche diligently, and looke, lest there be here with you any of the seruants of the Lord, but the seruants of Baal only.
Yehuu fi Yehoonaadaab ilmi Rekaab sun mana waaqeffannaa Baʼaal ol seenan. Yehuunis tajaajiltoota Baʼaaliin, “Mee asii fi achi ilaalaatii akka tajaajiltoota Baʼaal malee tajaajiltoonni Waaqayyoo tokko iyyuu isin wajjin as hin jirre hubadhaa” jedhe.
24 And when they went in to make sacrifice and burnt offering, Iehu appoynted foure score men without, and sayd, If any of the men whome I haue brought into your hands, escape, his soule shalbe for his soule.
Kanaafuu isaan qalmaa fi aarsaa gubamu dhiʼeessuuf ol galan. Yehuun yeroo sanatti nama saddeettama ala dhaabee, “Namni warra ani harka keessanitti kennu kanneen keessaa akka tokko iyyuu miliqu godhu kam iyyuu qooda lubbuu namicha sanaa lubbuu isaa dhaba” jedhee akeekkachiisee ture.
25 And when hee had made an ende of the burnt offring, Iehu sayde to the garde, and to the captaines, Goe in, slay them, let not a man come out. And they smote them with the edge of the sworde. And the garde, and the captaines cast them out, and went vnto the citie, where was the temple of Baal.
Yehuun akkuma aarsaa gubamu sana dhiʼeessee raawwateen, “Ol seenaatii isaan fixaa; akka namni tokko iyyuu miliqu hin godhinaa” jedhee eegdotaa fi ajajjoota sana ajaje. Kanaafuu isaan goraadeedhaan warra sana cicciran. Eegdotaa fi ajajjoonni sun reeffa isaanii alatti gad dadarbatanii kutaa mana waaqeffannaa Baʼaal kan gara keessaatti ol galan.
26 And they brought out the images of the temple of Baal, and burnt them.
Isaanis mana Baʼaal keessaa fakkiiwwan gad baasanii guban.
27 And they destroyed the image of Baal, and threwe downe the house of Baal, and made a iakes of it vnto this day.
Isaan fakkii Baʼaal caccabsanii mana Baʼaalis diigan. Namoonnis hamma guyyaa harʼaatti lafa itti bobbaa baʼan godhatanii itti fayyadamu.
28 So Iehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.
Akkasiin Yehuun Israaʼel keessaa waaqeffannaa Baʼaal balleesse.
29 But from the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat which made Israel to sinne, Iehu departed not from them, neither from the golden calues that were in Beth-el and that were in Dan.
Taʼus inni iyyuu cubbuu Yerobiʼaam ilma Nebaat kan inni akka sabni Israaʼel hojjetu godhe sana irraa hin deebine; cubbuun kunis fakkii jabbii warqee irraa hojjetamee Beetʼeelii fi Daanitti waaqeffachuu isaanii ti.
30 And the Lord sayde vnto Iehu, Because thou hast diligently executed that which was right in mine eyes, and hast done vnto the house of Ahab according to all things that were in mine heart, therefore shall thy sonnes vnto the fourth generation sit on the throne of Israel.
Waaqayyos Yehuudhaan akkana jedhe; “Sababii ati waan fuula koo duratti qajeelaa taʼe fiixaan baasuu keessatti waan gaarii hojjettee fi waan ani mana Ahaab irratti hojjechuuf garaadhaa qabu hunda hojjetteef sanyiiwwan kee hamma dhaloota afuraffaatti teessoo Israaʼel irra ni taaʼu.”
31 But Iehu regarded not to walke in the law of the Lord God of Israel with all his heart: for hee departed not from the sinnes of Ieroboam, which made Israel to sinne.
Taʼus Yehuun seera Waaqayyo Waaqa Israaʼel garaa guutuudhaan eeguuf of eeggannoo hin goone. Inni cubbuu Yerobiʼaam kan inni akka sabni Israaʼel hojjetu godhe sana irraa hin deebine.
32 In those dayes the Lord began to lothe Israel, and Hazael smote them in all the coastes of Israel,
Bara sana keessa Waaqayyo lafa Israaʼel irraa kukkutee xinneessuu jalqabe. Hazaaʼeelis guutummaa bulchiinsa isaanii keessatti Israaʼeloota moʼate;
33 From Iorden Eastward, euen all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and them that were of Manasseh, from Aroer (which is by the riuer Arnon) and Gilead and Bashan.
kunis gama baʼa Yordaanosiin biyya Giliʼaad hunda jechuunis biyya Gaad, biyya Ruubeenii fi biyya Minaasee kan Aroʼeer laga Arnoon biratti argamtu sanaa jalqabee Giliʼaadii hamma Baashaaniitti jiruu dha.
34 Concerning the rest of the actes of Iehu, and all that he did, and all his valiant deedes, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
Wantoonni bara mootummaa Yehuu keessa hojjetaman biraa, wanni inni hojjete hundii fi jabinni isaa hundi kitaaba seenaa mootota Israaʼel keessatti barreeffamaniiru mitii?
35 And Iehu slept with his fathers, and they buryed him in Samaria, and Iehoahaz his sonne reigned in his stead.
Yehuun abbootii isaa wajjin boqotee Samaariyaa keessatti ni awwaalame. Ilmi isaa Yehooʼaahaaz iddoo isaa buʼee mootii taʼe.
36 And the time that Iehu reigned ouer Israel in Samaria is eight and twentie yeeres.
Yehuun Samaariyaa keessa taaʼee waggaa digdamii saddeet Israaʼelin bulche.
