2 Kings 1
1 Then Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab:
১আহাবের মৃত্যুর পর মোয়াব ইস্রায়েলের অধীনে আর থাকলো না।
2 And Ahaziah fell thorow the lattesse windowe in his vpper chamber which was in Samaria: so he was sicke: then he sent messengers, to whome he saide, Goe, and enquire of Baal-zebub the God of Ekron, if I shall recouer of this my disease.
২আর অহসিয় শমরিয়াতে তাঁর বাড়ির উপরের কুঠরীর জানালা দিয়ে নীচে পড়ে গিয়ে অসুস্থ হলেন; তাতে তিনি কয়েকজন দূতকে বলে পাঠালেন, “যাও, ইক্রোণের দেবতা বাল্-সবূবের কাছে গিয়ে জিজ্ঞাসা কর যে, এই অসুস্থতা থেকে আমি সুস্থ হব কি না?”
3 Then the Angel of the Lord said to Eliiah the Tishbite, Arise, and goe vp to meete the messengers of the King of Samaria, and say vnto them, Is it not because there is no God in Israel, that ye goe to enquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron?
৩কিন্তু সদাপ্রভুর দূত তিশ্বীয় এলিয়কে বললেন, “তুমি গিয়ে শমরিয়ার রাজার দূতেদের সঙ্গে দেখা করে তাদের বল, ‘ইস্রায়েলের মধ্যে কি ঈশ্বর নেই যে, তোমরা ইক্রোণের দেবতা বাল্-সবূবের কাছে জিজ্ঞাসা করতে যাচ্ছ?’
4 Wherefore thus saith the Lord, Thou shalt not come downe from the bed on which thou art gone vp, but shalt die the death. So Eliiah departed.
৪তাই সদাপ্রভু বলছেন, ‘তুমি যে খাটে উঠে শুয়েছ, তা থেকে তুমি আর নামবে না, তুমি নিশ্চয়ই মারা যাবে’।” এই বলে এলিয় চলে গেলেন।
5 And the messengers returned vnto him, to whome he said, Why are ye nowe returned?
৫আর সেই ভাববাদীদের মণ্ডলী রাজার কাছে ফিরে আসলে তিনি তাদের জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “তোমরা কেন ফিরে আসলে?”
6 And they answered him, There came a man and met vs, and saide vnto vs, Goe, and returne vnto the King which sent you, and say vnto him, Thus saith the Lord, Is it not because there is no God in Israel, that thou sendest to enquire of Baal-zebub the God of Ekron? Therefore thou shalt not come downe from the bed, on which thou art gone vp, but shalt die ye death.
৬তারা বলল, “একজন ব্যক্তি আমাদের সঙ্গে দেখা করে বললেন, ‘যে রাজা তোমাদের পাঠিয়েছেন, তোমরা তাঁর কাছে ফিরে গিয়ে বল যে’, সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, ‘ইস্রায়েলের মধ্যে কি ঈশ্বর নেই যে, তুমি ইক্রোণের দেবতা বাল্ সবূবের কাছে জিজ্ঞাসা করতে লোক পাঠিয়েছ? অতএব তুমি যে খাটে উঠে শুয়েছ সেখান থেকে আর নামবে না; তুমি নিশ্চয়ই মারা যাবে’।”
7 And he saide vnto them, What maner of man was he which came and met you, and tolde you these wordes?
৭রাজা তাদের জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “যে লোকটা তোমাদের সঙ্গে দেখা করে এই কথা বলেছে সে দেখতে কেমন?”
8 And they said vnto him, He was an hearie man, and girded with a girdle of lether about his loynes. Then sayde he, It is Eliiah the Tishbite.
৮উত্তরে তারা বলল, “তার গা লোমে ভরা ছিল এবং তাঁর কোমরে ছিল চামড়ার কোমর-বন্ধনী।” রাজা বললেন, “সে তিশ্বীয় এলিয়।”
9 Therefore the King sent vnto him a captaine ouer fiftie with his fiftie men, who went vp vnto him: for beholde, he sate on the toppe of a mountaine, and he saide vnto him, O man of God, the King hath commanded that thou come downe.
৯এরপর রাজা একজন সেনাপতি ও তাঁর পঞ্চাশজন সৈন্যকে এলিয়ের কাছে পাঠিয়ে দিলেন, এলিয় তখন একটা পাহাড়ের উপরে বসে ছিলেন। সেই সেনাপতি এলিয়ের কাছে উঠে গিয়ে বললেন, “হে ঈশ্বরের লোক, রাজা আপনাকে নেমে আসতে বলেছেন।”
10 But Eliiah answered, and saide to the captaine ouer the fiftie, If that I be a man of God, let fire come downe from the heauen, and deuoure thee and thy fiftie. So fire came downe from the heauen and deuoured him and his fiftie.
১০উত্তরে এলিয় সেই সেনাপতিকে বললেন, “আমি যদি ঈশ্বরেরই লোক হই, তবে আকাশ থেকে আগুন নেমে এসে তোমাকে ও তোমার পঞ্চাশজন লোককে পুড়িয়ে ফেলুক।” তখন আকাশ থেকে আগুন নেমে এসে সেই সেনাপতি ও তার পঞ্চাশজন সৈন্যকে পুড়িয়ে ফেলল।
11 Againe also he sent vnto him another captaine ouer fiftie, with his fiftie. Who spake, and saide vnto him, O man of God, thus the King commandeth, Come downe quickely.
১১পরে রাজা আবার একজন সেনাপতি ও তাঁর পঞ্চাশজন সৈন্যকে এলিয়ের কাছে পাঠালেন। সেই সেনাপতি এলিয়কে বললেন, “হে ঈশ্বরের লোক, রাজা আপনাকে এখনই নেমে আসতে বলেছেন।”
12 But Eliiah answered, and saide vnto them, If I be a man of God, let fire come downe from the heauen, and deuoure thee and thy fiftie. So fire came downe from the heauen, and deuoured him and his fiftie.
১২উত্তরে এলিয় বললেন, “আমি যদি ঈশ্বরেরই লোক হই তবে আকাশ থেকে আগুন নেমে এসে তোমাকে ও তোমার পঞ্চাশজন সৈন্যকে পুড়িয়ে ফেলুক।” তখন আকাশ থেকে আগুন নেমে এসে তাকে ও তার পঞ্চাশজন সৈন্যকে পুড়িয়ে ফেলল।
13 Yet againe he sent the third captaine ouer fiftie with his fiftie. And the thirde captaine ouer fiftie went vp, and came, and fell on his knees before Eliiah, and besought him, and saide vnto him, O man of God, I pray thee, let my life and the life of these thy fiftie seruants be precious in thy sight.
১৩পরে রাজা তৃতীয় বার একজন সেনাপতি ও তাঁর পঞ্চাশজন সৈন্যকে পাঠালেন। এই তৃতীয় সেনাপতি উপরে উঠে গিয়ে এলিয়ের সামনে হাঁটু পেতে অনুরোধ করে বলল, “হে ঈশ্বরের লোক, আমি অনুরোধ করি, আমার ও আপনার এই পঞ্চাশজন দাসের প্রাণ রক্ষা করুন।
14 Beholde, there came fire downe from the heauen and deuoured the two former captaines ouer fiftie with their fifties: therefore let my life nowe be precious in thy sight.
১৪দেখুন, আকাশ থেকে আগুন পড়ে এর আগে দুজন সেনাপতি ও তাদের পঞ্চাশ পঞ্চাশ জনকে পুড়িয়ে ফেলেছে। কিন্তু এবার আপনি আমার প্রাণ রক্ষা করুন।”
15 And the Angel of the Lord said vnto Eliiah, Goe downe with him, be not afraide of his presence. So he arose, and went downe with him vnto the King.
১৫তখন সদাপ্রভুর দূত এলিয়কে বললেন, “তুমি ওর সঙ্গে নেমে যাও, ওকে ভয় কোরো না।” তখন এলিয় তাঁর সঙ্গে নেমে রাজার কাছে গেলেন।
16 And he saide vnto him, Thus saith the Lord, Because thou hast sent messengers to enquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron, (was it not because there was no God in Israel to inquire of his worde?) therefore thou shalt not come downe off the bed, on which thou art gone vp, but shalt die the death.
১৬তিনি রাজাকে বললেন, “সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, ‘যে, তুমি ইক্রোণের দেবতা বাল্-সবূবের কাছে জিজ্ঞাসা করবার জন্য দূতদের পাঠিয়েছিলে; এর কারণ কি এই যে, ইস্রায়েলের মধ্যে ঈশ্বর নেই, যাঁর বাক্য জিজ্ঞাসা করা যায়? তাই তুমি যে বিছানায় শুয়ে আছ, তা থেকে আর নামবে না। তুমি নিশ্চয়ই মারা যাবে’।”
17 So he dyed according to the worde of the Lord which Eliiah had spoken. And Iehoram began to reigne in his steade, in the seconde yeere of Iehoram the sonne of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, because he had no sonne.
১৭আর এলিয়কে দিয়ে সদাপ্রভুর বলা বাক্য অনুযায়ী অহসিয় মারা গেলেন। অহসিয়ের কোন ছেলে ছিল না বলে তাঁর জায়গায় যিহোরাম রাজা হলেন। যিহূদার রাজা যিহোশাফটের ছেলে যিহোরামের রাজত্বের দ্বিতীয় বছরে, রাজা হলেন।
18 Concerning the rest of the actes of Ahaziah, that he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
১৮অহসিয়ের বাকি সমস্ত কাজের কথা ইস্রায়েলের রাজাদের ইতিহাস বইতে কি লেখা নেই?
