2 Corinthians 8
1 We doe you also to wit, brethren, of the grace of God bestowed vpon the Churches of Macedonia,
Y ahora les damos noticias, hermanos, acerca de la gracia de Dios que se ha dado a las iglesias de Macedonia;
2 Because in great triall of affliction their ioy abounded, and their most extreme pouertie abounded vnto their rich liberalitie.
Mientras estaban pasando por todo tipo de problemas, y estaban en la mayor necesidad, se tomaron la mayor alegría de poder dar libremente a las necesidades de los demás.
3 For to their power (I beare record) yea, and beyonde their power, they were willing,
Porque les doy testimonio de que pudieron dar, y aún más de lo que pudieron, de todo corazón de su propia iniciativa,
4 And praied vs with great instance that we woulde receiue the grace, and fellowship of the ministring which is toward the Saints.
Rogándonos que pudieran participar en este privilegio de servir y apoyar en las necesidades de los santos:
5 And this they did, not as we looked for: but gaue their owne selues, first to the Lord, and after vnto vs by the will of God,
Y yendo más lejos que nuestra esperanza, primero se entregaron al Señor y a nosotros según el propósito de Dios.
6 That we should exhort Titus, that as hee had begon, so he would also accomplish the same grace among you also.
De modo que pedimos a Tito que, como había comenzado antes, así él podría completar está colecta entre ustedes.
7 Therefore, as yee abound in euery thing, in faith and woorde, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your loue towardes vs, euen so see that yee abound in this grace also.
Y que como están llenos de todo lo bueno, de fe, de la palabra, de conocimiento, de una mente dispuesta, y de amor para nosotros, así puedan sobresalir en está obra de caridad.
8 This say I not by commandement, but because of the diligence of others: therefore prooue I the naturalnesse of your loue.
No te estoy dando una orden, sino usando la mente dispuesta de los demás como una prueba de la sinceridad de su amor.
9 For ye knowe the grace of our Lord Iesus Christ, that hee being rich, for your sakes became poore, that yee through his pouertie might be made rich.
Porque tú ves la gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que aunque tuvo riquezas, se hizo pobre por ustedes, para que por su pobreza tengas riquezas.
10 And I shewe my minde herein: for this is expedient for you, which haue begun not to doe onely, but also to will, a yeare agoe.
Y en esto doy mi opinión: ya que es para su beneficio, quienes fueron los primeros en comenzar el año anterior, no solo para hacer esto, sino para dejar en claro que sus mentes estaban más que dispuestas a hacerlo.
11 Nowe therefore performe to doe it also, that as there was a readinesse to will, euen so yee may performe it of that which yee haue.
Ahora haz que se complete; con la misma disposición que mostraron al principio, cuando decidieron hacerlo.
12 For if there be first a willing minde, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
Porque si hay una mente dispuesta, un hombre tendrá la aprobación de Dios en la medida de lo que tiene, y no de lo que no tiene.
13 Neither is it that other men should be eased and you grieued: But vpon like condition, at this time your abundance supplieth their lacke:
Y no estoy diciendo esto para que otros puedan liberarse de esta carga, mientras que el peso recae sobre ustedes:
14 That also their aboundance may bee for your lacke, that there may be equalitie:
Pero para que las cosas sean iguales; que en este tiempo de abundancia sobre ustedes, puedan suplir su necesidad, y que la abundancia de ellos supla la necesidad de ustedes de la misma manera, haciendo las cosas iguales.
15 As it is written, Hee that gathered much, had nothing ouer, and hee that gathered litle, had not the lesse.
Como se dice en la Escritura, el que había recogió mucho, no tuvo más y el que recogió poco, no tuvo escasez.
16 And thanks be vnto God, which hath put in the heart of Titus the same care for you.
Pero alabado sea Dios, que pone la misma preocupación que yo tengo por ustedes en el corazón de Tito.
17 Because hee accepted the exhortation, yea, hee was so carefull that of his owne accorde hee went vnto you.
Mientras que de buena gana prestó oído a nuestra petición, estaba lo suficientemente interesado en ir a ustedes de su propia voluntad.
18 And wee haue sent also with him the brother, whose praise is in the Gospel throughout al the Churches.
Y con él hemos enviado un hermano cuya alabanza en las buenas nuevas ha pasado por todas las iglesias;
19 (And not so onely, but is also chosen of the Churches to be a fellowe in our iourney, concerning this grace that is ministred by vs vnto the glorie of the same Lord, and declaration of your prompt minde)
Y no solo eso, sino que fue escogido por las iglesias para ir con nosotros en este acto de caridad, que es administrado por nosotros que hemos emprendido para la gloria del Señor y para dejar en claro su buena voluntad para dar:
20 Auoiding this, that no man shoulde blame vs in this aboundance that is ministred by vs,
Y para que ningún hombre pueda decirnos algo en contra de nosotros en la administración de esta gran ofrenda que ha sido puesta en nuestras manos:
21 Prouiding for honest thinges, not onely before the Lord, but also before men.
Y por eso procuramos hacer lo bueno y honesto para tener la aprobación, no solo del Señor, sino de los hombres.
22 And we haue sent with them our brother, whom we haue oft times prooued to be diligent in many thinges, but nowe much more diligent, for the great confidence, which I haue in you.
Y hemos enviado con ellos a nuestro hermano, cuyo entusiasmo de espíritu nos ha sido aclarado a veces y en innumerables momentos, pero ahora lo es aún más debido a la cierta fe que él tiene en ustedes.
23 Whether any doe inquire of Titus, he is my fellowe and helper to you ward: or of our brethren, they are messengers of the Churches, and the glorie of Christ.
Si surge alguna pregunta sobre Tito, él es mi hermano trabajador, que trabaja conmigo para ustedes o sobre los otros, ellos son los representantes de las iglesias para la gloria de Cristo.
24 Wherefore shew toward them, and before the Churches the proofe of your loue, and of the reioycing that we haue of you.
Hazles claro a ellos, como representantes de las iglesias, muéstrales que verdaderamente los aman y que tenemos razón al estar satisfechos de ustedes.
