2 Corinthians 1
1 Pavl an Apostle of JESVS Christ, by the will of God, and our brother Timotheus, to the Church of God, which is at Corinthus with all the Saints, which are in all Achaia:
Barua hii ni kutoka kwangu mimi Paulo, mtume wa Kristo Yesu kwa mapenzi ya Mungu, na Timotheo ndugu yetu, Kwa kanisa la Mungu lililoko Korintho, pamoja na watakatifu wote walioko Akaya yote:
2 Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ.
Neema na amani itokayo kwa Mungu Baba yetu na kwa Bwana Yesu Kristo iwe nanyi.
3 Blessed be God, euen the Father of our Lord Iesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort,
Ahimidiwe Mungu na Baba wa Bwana wetu Yesu Kristo, Baba wa huruma na Mungu wa faraja yote.
4 Which comforteth vs in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any affliction by the comfort wherewith we our selues are comforted of God.
Yeye hutufariji katika taabu zetu, ili tuweze kuwafariji walio katika taabu yoyote kwa faraja ambayo sisi wenyewe tumepokea kutoka kwa Mungu.
5 For as the sufferings of Christ abounde in vs, so our consolation aboundeth through Christ.
Kama vile mateso ya Kristo yanavyozidi ndani ya maisha yetu, hivyo ndivyo faraja yetu inavyofurika kwa njia ya Kristo.
6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and saluation, which is wrought in the induring of the same sufferings, which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and saluation.
Kama tunataabika, ni kwa ajili ya faraja na wokovu wenu; kama tukifarijiwa, ni kwa ajili ya faraja yenu, iwaleteayo saburi ya mateso yale yale yanayotupata.
7 And our hope is stedfast concerning you, in as much as we know that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.
Nalo tumaini letu kwenu ni thabiti, kwa sababu tunajua kwamba kama vile mnavyoshiriki mateso yetu, ndivyo pia mnavyoshiriki katika faraja yetu.
8 For brethren, we woulde not haue you ignorant of our affliction, which came vnto vs in Asia, howe we were pressed out of measure passing strength, so that we altogether doubted, euen of life.
Ndugu wapendwa, hatutaki mkose kujua kuhusu zile taabu tulizopata huko Asia. Kwa maana tulilemewa na mizigo sana, kiasi cha kushindwa kuvumilia, hata tulikata tamaa ya kuishi.
9 Yea, we receiued the sentence of death in our selues, because we shoulde not trust in our selues, but in God, which rayseth the dead.
Kwa kweli, mioyoni mwetu tulihisi tumekabiliwa na hukumu ya kifo, ili tusijitegemee sisi wenyewe bali tumtegemee Mungu afufuaye wafu.
10 Who deliuered vs from so great a death, and doeth deliuer vs: in whom we trust, that yet hereafter he will deliuer vs,
Yeye aliyetuokoa kwenye hatari kubwa ya kifo na atatuokoa tena. Kwake yeye tumeweka tumaini letu kwamba ataendelea kutuokoa.
11 So that ye labour together in prayer for vs, that for the gift bestowed vpon vs for many, thankes may be giuen by many persons for vs.
Kama vile mlivyoungana kusaidiana nasi katika maombi, hivyo wengi watatoa shukrani kwa niaba yetu kwa ajili ya baraka za neema tulizopata kwa majibu ya maombi ya wengi.
12 For our reioycing is this, the testimonie of our conscience, that in simplicitie and godly purenesse, and not in fleshly wisedome, but by the grace of God wee haue had our conuersation in the worlde, and most of all to you wardes.
Basi haya ndiyo majivuno yetu: Dhamiri yetu inatushuhudia kwamba tumeenenda katika ulimwengu na hasa katika uhusiano wetu na ninyi, katika utakatifu na uaminifu utokao kwa Mungu. Hatukufanya hivyo kwa hekima ya kidunia bali kwa neema ya Mungu.
13 For wee write none other thinges vnto you, then that ye reade or els that ye acknowledge, and I trust ye shall acknowledge vnto ye end.
Kwa maana hatuwaandikii mambo ambayo hamwezi kusoma au kuyaelewa. Natumaini kwamba,
14 Euen as ye haue acknowledged vs partly, that we are your reioycing, euen as ye are ours, in the day of our Lord Iesus.
kama vile mlivyotuelewa kwa sehemu, mtakuja kuelewa kwa ukamilifu ili mweze kujivuna kwa ajili yetu, kama na sisi tutakavyojivuna kwa ajili yenu katika siku ya Bwana Yesu.
15 And in this confidence was I minded first to come vnto you, that ye might haue had a double grace,
Kwa kuwa nilikuwa na uhakika wa mambo haya, nilitaka nije kwenu kwanza, ili mpate faida mara mbili.
16 And to passe by you into Macedonia, and to come againe out of Macedonia vnto you, and to be led foorth towarde Iudea of you.
Nilipanga kuwatembelea nikiwa safarini kwenda Makedonia na kurudi tena kwenu nikitoka Makedonia, ili mnisafirishe katika safari yangu ya kwenda Uyahudi.
17 When I therefore was thus minded, did I vse lightnesse? or minde I those thinges which I minde, according to the flesh, that with me should be, Yea, yea, and Nay, nay?
Nilipopanga jambo hili, je, nilikuwa kigeugeu? Au ninafanya mipango yangu kwa hali ya mwili, ili niseme, “Ndiyo, ndiyo” na “Siyo, siyo” wakati huo huo?
18 Yea, God is faithfull, that our worde towarde you was not Yea, and Nay.
Hakika kama Mungu alivyo mwaminifu, maneno yetu kwenu hayajawa “Ndiyo na Siyo.”
19 For the Sonne of God Iesus Christ, who was preached among you by vs, that is, by me, and Siluanus, and Timotheus, was not Yea, and Nay: but in him it was Yea.
Kwa kuwa Yesu Kristo, Mwana wa Mungu, ambaye tulimhubiri kwenu: Mimi, Silvano na Timotheo, hakuwa “Ndiyo” na “Siyo,” bali kwake yeye siku zote ni “Ndiyo.”
20 For all the promises of God in him are Yea, and are in him Amen, vnto the glorie of God through vs.
Kwa maana ahadi zote za Mungu zilizo katika Kristo ni “Ndiyo.” Kwa sababu hii ni kwake yeye tunasema “Amen” kwa utukufu wa Mungu.
21 And it is God which stablisheth vs with you in Christ, and hath anoynted vs.
Basi ni Mungu atufanyaye sisi pamoja nanyi kusimama imara katika Kristo. Ametutia mafuta
22 Who hath also sealed vs, and hath giuen the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
kwa kututia muhuri wake na kutupa Roho wake mioyoni mwetu kuwa rehani kwa ajili ya kututhibitishia kile kijacho.
23 Nowe, I call God for a recorde vnto my soule, that to spare you, I came not as yet vnto Corinthus.
Mungu ni shahidi wangu kwamba ilikuwa ni kwa ajili ya kuwahurumia ninyi sikurudi Korintho.
24 Not that wee haue dominion ouer your faith, but wee are helpers of your ioy: for by faith yee stande.
Si kwamba tunatawala imani yenu, bali twatenda kazi pamoja nanyi kwa ajili ya furaha yenu, kwa sababu ni kwa imani mwasimama imara.
