2 Chronicles 1
1 Then Salomon the sonne of Dauid was confirmed in his kingdome: and the Lord his God was with him, and magnified him highly.
Salomón, hijo de David, quedó afirmado en su reino; Yahvé su Dios estaba con él y lo engrandeció sobremanera.
2 And Salomon spake vnto all Israel, to the captaines of thousandes, and of hundreths, and to the iudges, and to all the gouernours in all Israel, euen the chiefe fathers.
Entonces habló Salomón a todo Israel, a los jefes de miles y de cientos, a los jueces y a todos los príncipes de todo Israel, a las cabezas de las casas paternas;
3 So Salomon and all the Congregation with him went to the hie place that was at Gibeon: for there was the Tabernacle of the Congregation of God which Moses the seruant of the Lord had made in the wildernesse.
y fue Salomón con toda la comunidad que lo acompañaba, al lugar alto que había en Gabaón, porque allí se hallaba el Tabernáculo de la Reunión de Dios, que Moisés, siervo de Yahvé, había hecho en el desierto.
4 But the Arke of God had Dauid brought vp from Kiriath-iearim, when Dauid had made preparation for it: for he had pitched a tent for it in Ierusalem.
En cuanto al Arca de Dios, David la había llevado de Kiryatyearim al lugar que él le había preparado, pues le había erigido un Tabernáculo en Jerusalén.
5 Moreouer the brasen altar that Bezaleel the sonne of Vri, the sonne of Hur had made, did hee set before the Tabernacle of the Lord: and Salomon and the Congregation sought it.
El altar de bronce que había hecho Besalel, hijo de Urí, hijo de Hur, estaba también allí, delante de la Morada de Yahvé. Fueron Salomón y la comunidad para consultarle.
6 And Salomon offred there before the Lord vpon the brasen altar that was in the Tabernacle of the Congregation: euen a thousand burnt offrings offred he vpon it.
Y subió Salomón allí al altar de bronce que estaba ante Yahvé junto al Tabernáculo de la Reunión, y ofreció sobre él mil holocaustos.
7 The same night did God appeare vnto Salomon, and sayde vnto him, Aske what I shall giue thee.
En aquella noche se apareció Dios a Salomón y le dijo: “Pídeme lo que quieres que te conceda.”
8 And Salomon sayde vnto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy vnto Dauid my father and hast made me to reigne in his stead.
Salomón respondió a Dios: “Tú has tenido gran misericordia con David mi padre, y a mí me has hecho rey en su lugar.
9 Nowe therefore, O Lord God, let thy promise vnto Dauid my father be true: for thou hast made mee King ouer a great people, like to the dust of the earth.
Ahora, oh Yahvé Dios, cúmplase la promesa que hiciste a mi padre David, ya que Tú me has hecho rey sobre un pueblo numeroso como el polvo de la tierra.
10 Giue me now wisdome and knowledge, that I may go out and go in before this people: for who can iudge this thy great people?
Dame ahora sabiduría e inteligencia, para que sepa cómo conducirme ante este pueblo; porque ¿quién podrá gobernar este tu pueblo tan grande?”
11 And God sayde to Salomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, treasures nor honour, nor the liues of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life, but hast asked for thee wisdome and knowledge that thou mightest iudge my people, ouer whome I haue made thee King,
Respondió Dios a Salomón: “Ya que piensas esto en tu corazón, y no has pedido riquezas, ni bienes, ni gloria, ni la muerte de tus enemigos; ni tampoco has pedido larga vida, sino que has pedido para ti sabiduría e inteligencia para gobernar a mi pueblo, del cual te he hecho rey;
12 Wisdome and knowledge is granted vnto thee, and I will giue thee riches and treasures and honour, so that there hath not bene the like among the Kings which were before thee, neither after thee shall there be the like.
por eso te son dadas la sabiduría y la inteligencia; y además te daré riqueza y bienes y gloria como no las poseyó ningún rey antes de ti ni las tendrá ninguno de tus sucesores.”
13 Then Salomon came from the hie place, that was at Gibeon, to Ierusalem from before the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and reigned ouer Israel.
Y Salomón regresó a Jerusalén desde el lugar alto de Gabaón, de delante del Tabernáculo de la Reunión, y reinó sobre Israel.
14 And Salomon gathered the charets and horesemen: and he had a thousand and foure hundreth charets, and twelue thousande horsemen, whome he placed in the charet cities, and with the King at Ierusalem.
Salomón juntó carros y gente de a caballo y vino a poseer mil cuatrocientos carros y doce mil jinetes, a los que acuarteló en las ciudades de los carros y junto al rey en Jerusalén.
15 And the King gaue siluer and gold at Ierusalem as stones, and gaue cedar trees as the wilde figge trees, that are abundantly in the playne.
El rey hizo que la plata y el oro fuesen en Jerusalén tan común como las piedras, y los cedros tan abundantes como los sicómoros en la Sefelá.
16 Also Salomon had horses brought out of Egypt and fine linen: the Kings marchants receiued the fine linen for a price.
Los caballos de Salomón venían por medio de una caravana de comerciantes del rey desde Egipto, donde la caravana los compraba a un precio convenido.
17 They came vp also and brought out of Egypt some charet, worth sixe hundreth shekels of siluer, that is an horse for an hundreth and fiftie: and thus they brought horses to all the Kings of the Hittites, and to the Kings of Aram by their meanes.
Sacaban y traían de Egipto un carro por seiscientos siclos de plata, y un caballo por ciento cincuenta. De la misma manera los traían, como intermediarios, para todos los reyes de los heteos y los de Siria.
