2 Chronicles 9
1 And when the Queene of Sheba heard of the fame of Salomon, she came to proue Salomon with hard questions at Ierusalem, with a very great traine, and camels that bare sweete odours and much golde, and precious stones: and when she came to Salomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.
Då dronningi i Saba høyrde gjetordet um Salomo, drog ho til honom i Jerusalem og vilde røyna honom med djupe gåtor. Ho kom med eit ovstort fylgje, med kamelar som var klyvja med kryddor og gull i store mengder og glimesteinar. Og då ho var komi til Salomo, lagde ho fram for honom alt det ho hadde på hjarta.
2 And Salomon declared her all her questions, and there was nothing hid from Salomon, which he declared not vnto her.
Men Salomo gav henne svar på alle spurningarne hennar, og det var ingenting dult for honom, som han ikkje kunde svare på.
3 Then the Queene of Sheba sawe the wisedome of Salomon, and the house that he had buylt,
Då dronningi frå Saba såg kor vis Salomo var, og huset som han hadde bygt,
4 And the meate of his table, and the sitting of his seruants, and the order of his wayters, and their apparel, and his butlers, and their apparel, and his burnt offrings which he offred in the house of the Lord, and she was greatly astonied.
og retterne på bordet hans, korleis hirdmennerne hans sat der, og korleis tenarane hans varta upp og var klædde, skjenkjarsveinarne hans og deira klæde, og den uppgangen som han hadde til Herrens hus, vart ho reint ifrå seg.
5 And she saide to the King, It was a true worde which I heard in mine owne lande of thy sayings, and of thy wisedome:
Og ho sagde til kongen: «So var det då sant det som eg høyrde i landet mitt um deg og visdomen din!
6 Howbeit I beleeued not their report, vntil I came, and mine eyes had seene it: and beholde, the one halfe of thy great wisedom was not told me: for thou exceedest the fame that I heard.
Eg kunde ikkje tru det dei sagde fyrr eg kom og fekk sjå det med eigne augo; og so er det endå ikkje helvti av all visdomen din som de hev fortalt meg um; du er endå større enn det gjetordet eg hev høyrt um deg.
7 Happie are thy men, and happie are these thy seruants, which stande before thee alway, and heare thy wisedome.
Sæle er mennerne dine, sæle er desse tenarane dine, som stødt fær standa framfyre deg og høyra visdomen din.
8 Blessed be the Lord thy God, which loued thee, to set thee on his throne as King, in the steade of the Lord thy God: because thy God loueth Israel, to establish it for euer, therefore hath he made thee King ouer them, to execute iudgement and iustice.
Lova vere Herren, din Gud, som hadde hugnad i deg og sette deg på sin kongsstol til konge for Herren, din Gud! For di din Gud elskar Israel, og vil halda det ved magt æveleg, difor hev han sett deg til konge yver deim til å gjera rett og rettferd.»
9 Then she gaue the King sixe score talents of golde, and of sweete odours exceeding much and precious stones: neither was there such sweete odours since, as the Queene of Sheba gaue vnto King Salomon.
So gav ho kongen tri hundrad våger gull og kryddor i store mengder og glimesteinar; og aldri hev det funnest slike kryddor som dei dronningi frå Saba gav Salomo.
10 And the seruants also of Huram, and the seruants of Salomon which brought golde from Ophir, brought Algummim wood and precious stones.
Dessutan kom folki åt Huram og folki åt Salomo, som henta gull frå Ofir, med algummimtre og glimesteinar.
11 And the King made of the Algummim wood staires in the house of the Lord, and in the Kings house, and harpes and violes for singers: and there was no such seene before in the lande of Iudah.
Og av algummimtreet let kongen gjera tropper til Herrens hus og til huset åt kongen og cithrar og harpor til songarar; og makan til det hadde dei aldri fyrr set i Judalandet.
12 And King Salomon gaue to the Queene of Sheba euery pleasant thing that she asked, besides for that which she had brought vnto the King: so she returned and went to her owne countrey, both she, and her seruants.
Og kong Salomo gav dronningi frå Saba alt ho hadde hug på og bad um, umfram gåvor for det som ho gav til kongen. Sidan snudde ho og drog heim att til landet sitt, ho og tenarane hennar.
13 Also the weight of golde that came to Salomon in one yeere, was sixe hundreth three score and sixe talents of golde,
Vegti på det gullet som kom til Salomo på eitt år, var sekstan hundrad og fem og seksti våger gull,
14 Besides that which chapmen and marchants brought: and all the Kings of Arabia, and the princes of the countrey brought golde and siluer to Salomon.
og då var det ikkje medrekna det som kjøpmennerne og kræmarane førde inn, og det som kom frå alle kongarne i Arabia og frå jarlarne i landet, som førde gull og sylv til Salomo.
15 And King Salomon made two hundreth targets of beaten golde, and sixe hundreth shekels of beaten golde went to one target,
Kong Salomo let gjera tvo hundrad store skjoldar av uthamra gull - til kvar skjold gjekk det seks hundrad lodd uthamra gull -
16 And three hundreth shieldes of beaten golde: three hundreth shekels of golde went to one shielde, and the King put them in the house of the wood of Lebanon.
og tri hundrad små skjoldar av uthamra gull, og til kvar skjold gjekk det med tri hundrad lodd gull; og kongen sette deim upp i Libanonskoghuset.
17 And the King made a great throne of yuorie and ouerlaid it with pure golde.
Dessutan let kongen gjera ein stor kongsstol av filsbein og klædde honom med skirt gull.
18 And the throne had sixe steppes, with a footestoole of gold fastened to the throne, and stayes on either side on the place of the seate, and two lyons standing by the stayes.
Kongsstolen hadde seks stig og ein fotskammel av gull, som var feste til kongsstolen; på båe sidorne åt sætet var det armstyd, og på kvar side åt deim stod det tvo løvor.
19 And twelue lyons stoode there on the sixe steps on either side: there was not the like made in any kingdome.
Det stod og tolv løvor på båe sidorne på dei seks stigi. Det var ikkje laga maken i noko anna rike.
20 And all King Salomons drinking vessels were of golde, and all the vessels of the house of the wood of Lebanon were of pure gold: for siluer was nothing esteemed in ye dayes of Salomon.
Alle drykkjestaupi åt kong Salomo var av gull, og alle gognerne i Libanonskoghuset var av skirt gull; sylv rekna dei slett ikkje for noko i kong Salomos dagar.
21 For the Kings ships went to Tarshish with the seruants of Huram, euery three yeere once came the ships of Tarshish, and brought golde, and siluer, yuorie, and apes, and peacockes.
For kongen hadde skip som siglde til Tarsis saman med folki åt Huram; ein gong tridje kvart år kom Tarsis-skipi og førde gull og sylv og filsbein og apor og påfuglar.
22 So King Salomon excelled all the Kings of the earth in riches and wisedome.
Kong Salomo vart større enn alle andre kongar på jordi i rikdom og visdom.
23 And all the Kings of the earth sought the presence of Salomon, to heare his wisedome that God had put in his heart.
Og alle kongarne på jordi kom og vilde sjå honom og høyra visdomen hans, som Gud hadde lagt i hjarta hans.
24 And they brought euery man his present, vessels of siluer, and vessels of golde, and raiment, armour, and sweet odours, horses, and mules, from yeere to yeere.
Og kvar av deim hadde med seg ei gåva; det var ymse ting av sylv eller gull, klæde, våpn, kryddor, hestar, muldyr, år etter år.
25 And Salomon had foure thousand stalles of horses, and charets, and twelue thousand horsmen, whom he bestowed in the charet cities, and with the King at Ierusalem.
Salomo hadde fire tusund heste-par og stridsvogner og tolv tusund hestfolk, og deim lagde han, sume i vognbyarne og sume hjå seg sjølv i Jerusalem.
26 And he reigned ouer all the Kings from the Riuer euen vnto the land of the Philistims, and to the border of Egypt.
Han rådde yver alle kongarne frå Eufratelvi til Filistarland og egyptargrensa.
27 And the King gaue siluer in Ierusalem, as stones, and gaue cedar trees as the wilde fig trees, that are aboundant in the plaine.
Kongen gjorde sylvet so vanlegt i Jerusalem som stein, og cedertre som morberfiketrei i låglandet.
28 And they brought vnto Salomon horses out of Egypt, and out of all landes.
Hestar førde dei til Salomo frå Egyptarland og frå alle landi.
29 Concerning the rest of the actes of Salomon first and last, are they not written in the booke of Nathan the Prophet, and in the prophecie of Ahiiah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Ieedo the Seer against Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat?
Det som elles er å fortelja um Salomo frå fyrst til sist, det er uppskrive i profeten Natans krønika, og i spådomen åt siloniten Ahia og i syni åt sjåaren Jedi um Jeroboam Nebatsson.
30 And Salomon reigned in Ierusalem ouer all Israel fourtie yeeres.
Salomo var konge i Jerusalem yver heile Israel i fyrti år.
31 And Salomon slept with his fathers, and they buryed him in the citie of Dauid his father: and Rehoboam his sonne reigned in his steade.
So lagde Salomo seg til kvile hjå federne sine og vart gravlagd i far sin, Davids, by. Og Rehabeam, son hans, vart konge i staden hans.
