2 Chronicles 9
1 And when the Queene of Sheba heard of the fame of Salomon, she came to proue Salomon with hard questions at Ierusalem, with a very great traine, and camels that bare sweete odours and much golde, and precious stones: and when she came to Salomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.
Ketika ratu negeri Syeba mendengar kabar tentang Salomo, maka dengan pasukan pengiring yang sangat besar dan dengan unta-unta yang membawa rempah-rempah, banyak emas dan batu permata yang mahal-mahal datanglah ia ke Yerusalem hendak menguji Salomo dengan teka-teki. Setelah ia sampai kepada Salomo, dipercakapkannyalah segala yang ada dalam hatinya dengan dia.
2 And Salomon declared her all her questions, and there was nothing hid from Salomon, which he declared not vnto her.
Dan Salomo menjawab segala pertanyaan ratu itu; bagi Salomo tidak ada yang tersembunyi, yang tidak dapat dijawabnya untuk ratu itu.
3 Then the Queene of Sheba sawe the wisedome of Salomon, and the house that he had buylt,
Ketika ratu negeri Syeba melihat hikmat Salomo dan rumah yang telah didirikannya,
4 And the meate of his table, and the sitting of his seruants, and the order of his wayters, and their apparel, and his butlers, and their apparel, and his burnt offrings which he offred in the house of the Lord, and she was greatly astonied.
makanan di mejanya, cara duduk pegawai-pegawainya, cara pelayan-pelayannya melayani dan berpakaian, juru-juru minumannya dan pakaian mereka, dan korban bakaran yang biasa dipersembahkannya di rumah TUHAN, maka tercenganglah ratu itu.
5 And she saide to the King, It was a true worde which I heard in mine owne lande of thy sayings, and of thy wisedome:
Dan ia berkata kepada raja: "Benar juga kabar yang kudengar di negeriku tentang engkau dan tentang hikmatmu,
6 Howbeit I beleeued not their report, vntil I came, and mine eyes had seene it: and beholde, the one halfe of thy great wisedom was not told me: for thou exceedest the fame that I heard.
tetapi aku tidak percaya perkataan-perkataan mereka sampai aku datang dan melihatnya dengan mataku sendiri; sungguh, setengah dari hikmatmu yang besar itu belum diberitahukan kepadaku; engkau melebihi kabar yang kudengar.
7 Happie are thy men, and happie are these thy seruants, which stande before thee alway, and heare thy wisedome.
Berbahagialah orang-orangmu, dan berbahagialah para pegawaimu ini yang selalu melayani engkau dan menyaksikan hikmatmu!
8 Blessed be the Lord thy God, which loued thee, to set thee on his throne as King, in the steade of the Lord thy God: because thy God loueth Israel, to establish it for euer, therefore hath he made thee King ouer them, to execute iudgement and iustice.
Terpujilah TUHAN, Allahmu, yang telah berkenan kepadamu sedemikian, hingga Ia mendudukkan engkau di atas takhta-Nya sebagai raja untuk TUHAN, Allahmu! Karena Allahmu mengasihi orang Israel, maka Ia menetapkan mereka untuk selama-lamanya, dan menjadikan engkau raja atas mereka untuk melakukan keadilan dan kebenaran."
9 Then she gaue the King sixe score talents of golde, and of sweete odours exceeding much and precious stones: neither was there such sweete odours since, as the Queene of Sheba gaue vnto King Salomon.
Lalu diberikan kepada raja seratus dua puluh talenta emas, dan sangat banyak rempah-rempah dan batu permata yang mahal-mahal; tidak pernah lagi ada rempah-rempah seperti yang diberikan ratu negeri Syeba kepada raja Salomo itu.
10 And the seruants also of Huram, and the seruants of Salomon which brought golde from Ophir, brought Algummim wood and precious stones.
Lagipula hamba-hamba Huram dan hamba-hamba Salomo, yang membawa emas dari Ofir, membawa juga kayu cendana dan batu permata yang mahal-mahal.
11 And the King made of the Algummim wood staires in the house of the Lord, and in the Kings house, and harpes and violes for singers: and there was no such seene before in the lande of Iudah.
Raja mengerjakan kayu cendana itu menjadi tangga-tangga untuk rumah TUHAN dan istana raja, dan juga menjadi kecapi dan gambus untuk para penyanyi. Hal seperti itu tidak pernah kelihatan sebelumnya di tanah Yehuda.
12 And King Salomon gaue to the Queene of Sheba euery pleasant thing that she asked, besides for that which she had brought vnto the King: so she returned and went to her owne countrey, both she, and her seruants.
Raja Salomo memberikan kepada ratu negeri Syeba segala yang dikehendakinya dan yang dimintanya, melebihi yang dibawa ratu itu untuk raja. Lalu ratu itu berangkat pulang ke negerinya bersama-sama dengan pegawai-pegawainya.
13 Also the weight of golde that came to Salomon in one yeere, was sixe hundreth three score and sixe talents of golde,
Adapun berat emas, yang dibawa kepada Salomo dalam satu tahun ialah seberat enam ratus enam puluh enam talenta,
14 Besides that which chapmen and marchants brought: and all the Kings of Arabia, and the princes of the countrey brought golde and siluer to Salomon.
belum terhitung yang dibawa oleh saudagar-saudagar dan pedagang-pedagang; juga semua raja Arab dan bupati-bupati di negeri itu membawa emas dan perak kepada Salomo.
15 And King Salomon made two hundreth targets of beaten golde, and sixe hundreth shekels of beaten golde went to one target,
Raja Salomo membuat dua ratus perisai besar dari emas tempaan, enam ratus syikal emas tempaan dipakainya untuk setiap perisai besar;
16 And three hundreth shieldes of beaten golde: three hundreth shekels of golde went to one shielde, and the King put them in the house of the wood of Lebanon.
ia membuat juga tiga ratus perisai kecil dari emas tempaan, tiga ratus syikal emas dipakainya untuk setiap perisai kecil; lalu raja menaruh semuanya itu di dalam gedung "Hutan Libanon".
17 And the King made a great throne of yuorie and ouerlaid it with pure golde.
Juga raja membuat takhta besar dari gading, yang disalutnya dengan emas murni.
18 And the throne had sixe steppes, with a footestoole of gold fastened to the throne, and stayes on either side on the place of the seate, and two lyons standing by the stayes.
Takhta itu enam tingkatnya, dan tumpuan kakinya dari emas, yang dipautkan pada takhta itu, dan pada kedua sisi tempat duduk ada kelek-kelek. Di samping kelek-kelek itu berdiri dua singa,
19 And twelue lyons stoode there on the sixe steps on either side: there was not the like made in any kingdome.
sedang dua belas singa berdiri di atas keenam tingkat itu sebelah-menyebelah; belum pernah diperbuat yang demikian bagi sesuatu kerajaan.
20 And all King Salomons drinking vessels were of golde, and all the vessels of the house of the wood of Lebanon were of pure gold: for siluer was nothing esteemed in ye dayes of Salomon.
Segala perkakas minuman raja Salomo dari emas dan segala barang di gedung "Hutan Libanon" itu dari emas murni; perak tidak dianggap berharga pada zaman Salomo.
21 For the Kings ships went to Tarshish with the seruants of Huram, euery three yeere once came the ships of Tarshish, and brought golde, and siluer, yuorie, and apes, and peacockes.
Sebab raja mempunyai kapal-kapal yang berlayar ke Tarsis bersama-sama dengan orang-orang Huram; dan sekali tiga tahun kapal-kapal Tarsis itu datang membawa emas dan perak serta gading; juga kera dan burung merak.
22 So King Salomon excelled all the Kings of the earth in riches and wisedome.
Raja Salomo melebihi semua raja di bumi dalam hal kekayaan dan hikmat.
23 And all the Kings of the earth sought the presence of Salomon, to heare his wisedome that God had put in his heart.
Semua raja di bumi berikhtiar menghadap Salomo untuk menyaksikan hikmat yang telah ditaruh Allah di dalam hatinya.
24 And they brought euery man his present, vessels of siluer, and vessels of golde, and raiment, armour, and sweet odours, horses, and mules, from yeere to yeere.
Mereka datang masing-masing membawa persembahannya, yakni barang-barang perak dan barang-barang emas, pakaian, senjata, rempah-rempah, kuda dan bagal, dan begitulah tahun demi tahun.
25 And Salomon had foure thousand stalles of horses, and charets, and twelue thousand horsmen, whom he bestowed in the charet cities, and with the King at Ierusalem.
Salomo mempunyai juga empat ribu kandang untuk kuda-kudanya dan kereta-keretanya dan dua belas ribu orang berkuda, yang ditempatkan dalam kota-kota kereta dan dekat raja di Yerusalem.
26 And he reigned ouer all the Kings from the Riuer euen vnto the land of the Philistims, and to the border of Egypt.
Dan ia memerintah atas semua raja mulai dari sungai Efrat sampai negeri orang Filistin dan sampai ke tapal batas Mesir.
27 And the King gaue siluer in Ierusalem, as stones, and gaue cedar trees as the wilde fig trees, that are aboundant in the plaine.
Raja membuat banyaknya perak di Yerusalem sama seperti batu, dan banyaknya pohon kayu aras sama seperti pohon ara yang tumbuh di Daerah Bukit.
28 And they brought vnto Salomon horses out of Egypt, and out of all landes.
Kuda untuk Salomo didatangkan dari Misraim dan dari segala negeri.
29 Concerning the rest of the actes of Salomon first and last, are they not written in the booke of Nathan the Prophet, and in the prophecie of Ahiiah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Ieedo the Seer against Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat?
Selebihnya dari riwayat Salomo dari awal sampai akhir, bukankah semuanya itu tertulis dalam riwayat nabi Natan dan dalam nubuat Ahia, orang Silo itu, dan dalam penglihatan-penglihatan Ido, pelihat itu, tentang Yerobeam bin Nebat?
30 And Salomon reigned in Ierusalem ouer all Israel fourtie yeeres.
Salomo memerintah di Yerusalem atas seluruh Israel empat puluh tahun lamanya.
31 And Salomon slept with his fathers, and they buryed him in the citie of Dauid his father: and Rehoboam his sonne reigned in his steade.
Kemudian Salomo mendapat perhentian bersama-sama dengan nenek moyangnya, dan ia dikuburkan di kota Daud, ayahnya. Maka Rehabeam, anaknya, menjadi raja menggantikan dia.
