2 Chronicles 8
1 And after twentie yeere when Salomon had built the house of the Lord, and his owne house,
Vua Sa-lô-môn hoàn tất chương trình kiến thiết Đền Thờ của Chúa Hằng Hữu và cung điện của ông trong hai mươi năm. Vào cuối thời kỳ đó,
2 Then Salomon built the cities that Huram gaue to Salomon, and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.
vua bắt đầu xây lại các thành mà Vua Hi-ram đã tặng và cho một số con dân Ít-ra-ên định cư tại đó.
3 And Salomon went to Hamath Zobah, and ouercame it.
Sa-lô-môn cũng tấn công và chiếm đóng Ha-mát Sô-ba.
4 And he built Tadmor in the wildernesse, and repayred all the cities of store which hee built in Hamath.
Vua xây cất thành Tát-mốt trong hoang mạc và nhiều thành quanh Ha-mát làm trung tâm tiếp tế.
5 And he built Beth-horon the vpper, and Beth-horon the nether, cities defensed with walles, gates and barres:
Vua tăng cường các thành Thượng Bết-hô-rôn và Hạ Bết-hô-rôn, xây thành lũy, và đặt cổng giữ thành.
6 Also Baalath, and al the cities of store that Salomon had, and all the charet cities, and the cities of the horsemen, and euery pleasant place that Salomon had a minde to builde in Ierusalem, and in Lebanon, and throughout all the lande of his dominion.
Vua cũng kiến thiết thành Ba-lát, các trung tâm tiếp tế và các thành chứa chiến xa và kỵ binh. Vua hoàn thành các dự án kiến thiết tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, trong xứ Li-ban và khắp đất nước thuộc quyền của ông.
7 And all the people that were left to ye Hittites, and ye Amorites, and Perizzites, and the Hiuuites, and the Iebusites, which were not of Israel,
Vẫn còn vài người sống sót trong xứ nhưng không thuộc Ít-ra-ên, là người Hê-tít, A-mô-rít, Phê-rết, Hê-vi, và Giê-bu.
8 But of their children which were left after them in the lande, whome the children of Israel had not consumed, euen them did Salomon make tributaries vntill this day.
Họ là con cháu còn sót lại của các dân tộc mà người Ít-ra-ên không diệt. Vì vậy, Sa-lô-môn bắt họ làm sưu dịch và họ vẫn còn phục dịch cho đến ngày nay.
9 But of the children of Israel did Salomon make no seruantes for his worke: for they were men of warre, and his chiefe princes, and the captaines of his charets and of his horsemen.
Nhưng Sa-lô-môn không bắt người Ít-ra-ên phải làm sưu dịch, mà được phân công phục vụ như các binh sĩ, quan chỉ huy quân đội, chỉ huy chiến xa, và kỵ binh.
10 So these were the chiefe of the officers which Salomon had, euen two hundreth and fiftie that bare rule ouer the people.
Sa-lô-môn cũng bổ nhiệm 250 người để điều khiển các sinh hoạt của toàn dân.
11 Then Salomon brought vp the daughter of Pharaoh out of the citie of Dauid, into the house that he had built for her: for he saide, My wife shall not dwel in the house of Dauid King of Israel: for it is holy, because that the Arke of the Lord came vnto it.
Vua rước hoàng hậu, là con gái Pha-ra-ôn, từ Thành Đa-vít lên cung điện mới xây cất cho bà. Vua nói: “Vợ ta không nên ở trong cung Vua Đa-vít vì Hòm Giao Ước của Chúa Hằng Hữu đã ở đó và là nơi đã được thánh hóa.”
12 Then Salomon offered burnt offrings vnto the Lord, on the altar of the Lord, which he had built before the porche,
Lúc ấy, Sa-lô-môn dâng các tế lễ thiêu lên Chúa Hằng Hữu trên bàn thờ vua đã lập trước hiên cửa Đền Thờ.
13 To offer according to the commandement of Moses euery day, in the Sabbaths, and in the newe moones, and in the solemne feastes, three times in the yeere, that is, in the feast of the Vnleauened bread, and in the feast of the Weekes, and in the feast of the Tabernacles.
Như luật pháp Môi-se đã ấn định, vua dâng các tế lễ trong ngày Sa-bát, ngày trăng mới, và ba ngày lễ lớn hằng năm là lễ Vượt Qua, lễ Các Tuần, và lễ Lều Tạm.
14 And he set the courses of the Priestes to their offices, according to the order of Dauid his father, and the Leuites in their watches, for to praise and minister before the Priestes euery day, and the porters by their courses, at euery gate: for so was the commandement of Dauid the man of God.
Theo lệnh Đa-vít, cha vua, các thầy tế lễ được phân công và chia thành từng ban. Người Lê-vi cũng được phân công tôn ngợi Chúa và giúp các thầy tế lễ trong các nhiệm vụ hằng ngày. Ông cũng phải canh gác các cổng theo từng ban thứ như lệnh của Đa-vít, người của Đức Chúa Trời.
15 And they declined not from the commandement of the King, concerning the Priests and the Leuites, touching al things, and touching the treasures.
Sa-lô-môn không dám làm sai lệch bất cứ lệnh nào của Đa-vít liên quan đến các thầy tế lễ, người Lê-vi, và các kho tàng.
16 Nowe Salomon had made prouision for all the worke, from the day of the foundation of the house of the Lord, vntill it was finished: so the house of the Lord was perfite.
Mọi công tác của Sa-lô-môn, từ ngày khởi công cho đến ngày hoàn thành, đều được chuẩn bị chu đáo, nên Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu được hoàn tất cách tuyệt hảo.
17 Then went Salomon to Ezion-geber, and to Eloth by the sea side in the lande of Edom.
Sa-lô-môn cũng xuống Ê-xi-ôn Ghê-be và Ê-lát, hai hải cảng trong đất Ê-đôm.
18 And Huram sent him by the handes of his seruants, shippes, and seruants that had knowledge of the sea: and they went with the seruants of Salomon to Ophir, and brought thence foure hundreth and fiftie talents of golde, and brought them to King Salomon.
Hi-ram sai những người thông thạo nghề biển và các thủy thủ đem tàu đến cho Sa-lô-môn. Những tàu này cùng với người của Sa-lô-môn đi Ô-phia lấy vàng. Và họ lấy được 75 tấn vàng, chở về cho Sa-lô-môn.
