2 Chronicles 8
1 And after twentie yeere when Salomon had built the house of the Lord, and his owne house,
Passati i vent'anni durante i quali aveva edificato il tempio e la reggia,
2 Then Salomon built the cities that Huram gaue to Salomon, and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.
Salomone ricostruì le città che Curam gli aveva dato e vi stabilì gli Israeliti.
3 And Salomon went to Hamath Zobah, and ouercame it.
Salomone andò ad Amat di Zoba e l'occupò.
4 And he built Tadmor in the wildernesse, and repayred all the cities of store which hee built in Hamath.
Egli ricostruì Palmira nel deserto e tutte le città di rifornimento, che aveva costruito in Amat.
5 And he built Beth-horon the vpper, and Beth-horon the nether, cities defensed with walles, gates and barres:
Ricostruì Bet-Coròn superiore e Bet-Coròn inferiore, fortezze con mura, battenti e catenacci.
6 Also Baalath, and al the cities of store that Salomon had, and all the charet cities, and the cities of the horsemen, and euery pleasant place that Salomon had a minde to builde in Ierusalem, and in Lebanon, and throughout all the lande of his dominion.
Lo stesso fece con Baalat, con tutte le città di rifornimento di sua proprietà e con tutte le città dei carri e dei cavalli; insomma eseguì tutto ciò che gli piacque di costruire in Gerusalemme, nel Libano e in tutto il territorio del suo dominio.
7 And all the people that were left to ye Hittites, and ye Amorites, and Perizzites, and the Hiuuites, and the Iebusites, which were not of Israel,
Quanti rimanevano degli Hittiti, degli Amorrei, dei Perizziti, degli Evei e dei Gebusei, che non erano Israeliti,
8 But of their children which were left after them in the lande, whome the children of Israel had not consumed, euen them did Salomon make tributaries vntill this day.
cioè i loro discendenti, sopravvissuti dopo di loro nel paese, quanti non erano stati sterminati dagli Israeliti, Salomone li rese tributari, come lo sono fino ad oggi.
9 But of the children of Israel did Salomon make no seruantes for his worke: for they were men of warre, and his chiefe princes, and the captaines of his charets and of his horsemen.
Ma degli Israeliti Salomone non impiegò nessuno come schiavo per i suoi lavori, perché essi erano guerrieri, capi dei suoi scudieri, capi dei suoi carri e dei suoi cavalieri.
10 So these were the chiefe of the officers which Salomon had, euen two hundreth and fiftie that bare rule ouer the people.
Questi capi di prefetti, eletti dal re Salomone, erano duecentocinquanta e avevano la sorveglianza sul popolo.
11 Then Salomon brought vp the daughter of Pharaoh out of the citie of Dauid, into the house that he had built for her: for he saide, My wife shall not dwel in the house of Dauid King of Israel: for it is holy, because that the Arke of the Lord came vnto it.
Salomone trasferì la figlia del faraone dalla città di Davide alla casa che aveva costruita per lei, perché aveva stabilito: «Una donna non deve abitare per me nella casa di Davide, re di Israele, perché è sacro ogni luogo in cui ha sostato l'arca del Signore».
12 Then Salomon offered burnt offrings vnto the Lord, on the altar of the Lord, which he had built before the porche,
In quel tempo Salomone offrì olocausti al Signore sull'altare del Signore, che aveva costruito di fronte al vestibolo.
13 To offer according to the commandement of Moses euery day, in the Sabbaths, and in the newe moones, and in the solemne feastes, three times in the yeere, that is, in the feast of the Vnleauened bread, and in the feast of the Weekes, and in the feast of the Tabernacles.
Ogni giorno offriva olocausti secondo il comando di Mosè, nei sabati, nei noviluni e nelle tre feste dell'anno, cioè nella festa degli azzimi, nella festa delle settimane e nella festa delle capanne.
14 And he set the courses of the Priestes to their offices, according to the order of Dauid his father, and the Leuites in their watches, for to praise and minister before the Priestes euery day, and the porters by their courses, at euery gate: for so was the commandement of Dauid the man of God.
Secondo le disposizioni di Davide suo padre, stabilì le classi dei sacerdoti per il loro servizio; anche per i leviti dispose che nel loro ufficio lodassero Dio e assistessero i sacerdoti ogni giorno; ai portieri nelle loro classi assegnò le singole porte, perché così aveva comandato Davide, uomo di Dio.
15 And they declined not from the commandement of the King, concerning the Priests and the Leuites, touching al things, and touching the treasures.
Non si allontanarono in nulla dalle disposizioni del re Davide riguardo ai sacerdoti e ai leviti; lo stesso avvenne riguardo ai tesori.
16 Nowe Salomon had made prouision for all the worke, from the day of the foundation of the house of the Lord, vntill it was finished: so the house of the Lord was perfite.
Così fu realizzata tutta l'opera di Salomone da quando si gettarono le fondamenta del tempio fino al suo compimento definitivo.
17 Then went Salomon to Ezion-geber, and to Eloth by the sea side in the lande of Edom.
Allora Salomone andò ad Ezion-Ghèber e ad Elat sulla riva del mare, nella regione di Edom.
18 And Huram sent him by the handes of his seruants, shippes, and seruants that had knowledge of the sea: and they went with the seruants of Salomon to Ophir, and brought thence foure hundreth and fiftie talents of golde, and brought them to King Salomon.
Curam gli mandò alcune navi con propri equipaggi e uomini esperti del mare. Costoro, insieme con i marinai di Salomone, andarono in Ofir e di là presero quattrocentocinquanta talenti d'oro e li portarono al re Salomone.
