2 Chronicles 6

1 Then Salomon sayd, The Lord hath sayde that he would dwell in the darke cloude:

Entonces Salomón dijo: Señor, has dicho que habitas en la densa nube.

2 And I haue built thee an house to dwell in, an habitation for thee to dwell in for euer.

Así que he hecho para ti un lugar para vivir, una casa en la que puedes estar siempre presente.

3 And the King turned his face, and blessed all the Congregation of Israel (for all the Congregation of Israel stoode there)

Luego, volviendo la cara, el rey dio una bendición a todos los hombres de Israel; y todos estaban de pie juntos.

4 And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who spake with his mouth vnto Dauid my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,

Y dijo: Alabado sea el Señor, el Dios de Israel, quien dio su palabra a mi padre David, y con su mano fuerte ha hecho realidad su palabra, diciendo:

5 Since the day that I brought my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no citie of al the tribes of Israel to buylde an house, that my Name might be there, neyther chose I any man to be a ruler ouer my people Israel:

Desde el día en que saqué a mi pueblo de la tierra de Egipto, ninguna ciudad en todas las tribus de Israel ha sido escogida por mí para la construcción de una casa para el lugar de descanso de mi nombre; y no tomé a un hombre como gobernante de mi pueblo Israel;

6 But I haue chosen Ierusalem, that my Name might be there, and haue chosen Dauid to be ouer my people Israel.

Pero ahora he hecho una selección de Jerusalén, para que mi nombre esté allí, y de David, para estar sobre mi pueblo Israel.

7 And it was in the heart of Dauid my father to builde an house vnto the Name of the Lord God of Israel,

Ahora estaba en el corazón de mi padre David edificar una casa para el nombre del Señor, el Dios de Israel.

8 But the Lord sayde to Dauid my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to buylde an house vnto my Name, thou diddest well, that thou wast so minded.

Pero el Señor le dijo a David mi padre: Hiciste bien en tener en tu corazón el deseo de hacer una casa para mi nombre.

9 Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house, but thy sonne which shall come out of thy loynes, he shall buylde an house vnto my Name.

Pero tú mismo no serás el constructor de la casa; Pero tu hijo, la descendencia de tu cuerpo, él es quien levantará una casa a mi nombre.

10 And the Lord hath performed his worde that he spake: and I am risen vp in the roume of Dauid my father, and am set on the throne of Israel as the Lord promised, and haue built an house to the Name of the Lord God of Israel.

Y el Señor ha guardado su palabra; porque he tomado el lugar de mi padre David en el trono del reino de Israel, como el Señor dio su palabra; Y he hecho la casa para el nombre del Señor el Dios de Israel.

11 And I haue set the Arke there, wherein is the couenant of the Lord, that he made with the children of Israel.

Y allí he puesto el cofre del pacto, en el cual está el pacto del Señor, que hizo con el pueblo de Israel.

12 And the King stoode before the altar of the Lord, in the presence of all the Congregation of Israel, and stretched out his hands,

Entonces tomó su lugar delante del altar del Señor, estando presentes todos los hombres de Israel,

13 (For Salomon had made a brasen skaffold and set it in the middes of the court, of fiue cubites long, and fiue cubites broade, and three cubites of height, and vpon it he stoode, and kneeled downe vpon his knees before all the Congregation of Israel, and stretched out his hands toward heauen)

Porque Salomón había hecho un escenario de bronce, de cinco codos de largo, cinco codos de ancho y tres codos de alto, y lo había colocado en medio del atrio; sobre esto tomó su lugar y se arrodilló. Ante todo el encuentro de Israel, extendiendo sus manos al cielo.

14 And sayd, O Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee in heauen nor in earth, which keepest couenant, and mercie vnto thy seruants, that walke before thee with all their heart.

Y él dijo: Señor, Dios de Israel, no hay Dios como tú en el cielo ni en la tierra; manteniendo su pacto y la misericordia de tus siervos, mientras van por tus caminos con todo su corazón;

15 Thou that hast kept with thy seruant Dauid my father, that thou hast promised him: for thou spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as appeareth this day.

Porque has guardado la palabra que diste a tu siervo David, mi padre; con tu boca lo dijiste y con tu mano lo has hecho realidad este día.

16 Therefore now Lord God of Israel, keepe with thy seruant Dauid my father, that thou hast promised him, saying, Thou shalt not want a man in my sight, that shall sit vpon the throne of Israel: so that thy sonnes take heede to their wayes, to walke in my Lawe, as thou hast walked before me.

Ahora, Señor, Dios de Israel, deja que tu palabra a tu siervo David, mi padre, se haga realidad cuando dijiste: Nunca estarás sin un hombre que ocupe su lugar delante de mí en el del trono de israel; Si solo tus hijos presten atención a sus caminos, como tú has andado en mi ley, como lo has hecho delante mi.

17 And now, O Lord God of Israel, let thy worde be verified, which thou spakest vnto thy seruant Dauid.

Ahora, Señor, Dios de Israel, haz que tu palabra se cumpla, como dijiste a tu siervo David.

18 (Is it true in deede that God will dwell with man on earth? beholde, the heauens, and the heauens of heauens are not able to conteine thee: how much more vnable is this house, which I haue buylt?)

¿Pero es verdaderamente posible que Dios pueda ser alojado con hombres en la tierra? Mira, el cielo y el cielo de los cielos no son lo suficientemente anchos como para ser tu lugar de descanso: cuánto menos esta casa que he hecho.

19 But haue thou respect to the prayer of thy seruant, and to his supplication, O Lord my God, to heare the crye and prayer which thy seruant prayeth before thee,

Aun así, atiende a la oración de tu siervo y a su oración de gracia, Señor Dios mío, y escucha el clamor y la oración que tu siervo hace ante ti;

20 That thine eyes may be open toward this house day and night, euen toward the place, whereof thou hast sayde, that thou wouldest put thy Name there, that thou mayest hearken vnto the prayer, which thy seruant prayeth in this place.

Para que tus ojos estén abiertos a esta casa día y noche, a este lugar del cual has dicho que pondrías tu nombre allí; para escuchar la oración que tu siervo haga, dirigiéndose a este lugar.

21 Heare thou therefore the supplication of thy seruant, and of thy people Israel, which they pray in this place: and heare thou in the place of thine habitation, euen in heauen, and when thou hearest, be mercifull.

Y escucha las oraciones de tu siervo y de tu pueblo Israel, cuando hacen sus oraciones, dirigiéndose a este lugar; escucha, desde el cielo, tu lugar de habitación; escucha y ten piedad.

22 When a man shall sinne against his neighbour, and he laye vpon him an othe to cause him to sweare, and the swearer shall come before thine altar in this house,

Si un hombre hace mal a su prójimo y tiene que prestar juramento, y se presenta ante tu altar para prestar juramento en esta casa.

23 Then heare thou in heauen, and doe, and iudge thy seruants, in recompensing the wicked to bring his way vpon his head, and in iustifying the righteous, to giue him according to his righteousnes.

Entonces, escucha desde el cielo, y sé juez de tus siervos, castigando al malhechor, para que su pecado caiga sobre su cabeza; y por tu decisión, guardando del mal al que no ha hecho nada malo.

24 And when thy people Israel shalbe ouerthrowen before the enemie, because they haue sinned against thee, and turne againe, and confesse thy Name, and pray, and make supplication before thee in this house,

Y si tu pueblo Israel es vencido en la guerra, por su pecado contra ti; si se vuelven a ti nuevamente, honrando tu nombre, haciendo oraciones y pidiendo tu gracia en esta casa.

25 Then heare thou in heauen, and be mercifull vnto the sinne of thy people Israel, and bring them againe vnto the land which thou gauest to them and to their fathers.

Entonces escucha desde cielo y deja que el pecado de tu pueblo Israel tenga perdón, y llévalo de nuevo a la tierra que les diste a ellos y a sus padres.

26 When heauen shall be shut vp, and there shalbe no rayne, because they haue sinned against thee, and shall pray in this place, and confesse thy Name, and turne from their sinne, when thou doest afflict them,

Cuando el cielo está cerrado y no llueve, debido a su pecado en contra tuyo; si hacen oraciones con la cara puesta en este lugar, honran tu nombre y se apartan de su pecado cuando los castigas.

27 Then heare thou in heauen, and pardon the sinne of thy seruants, and of thy people Israel (when thou hast taught them the good way wherein they may walke) and giue rayne vpon thy lande, which thou hast giuen vnto thy people for an inheritance.

Escúchalos desde el cielo, para que el pecado de sus siervos y el pecado de su pueblo, Israel, tenga perdón, cuando les aclare el buen camino por el cual deben ir; y envía lluvia tú a está tierra, la cual has dado a tu pueblo por su herencia.

28 When there shalbe famine in the land, when there shalbe pestilence, blasting, or mildew, when there shall be grashopper, or caterpiller, when their enemie shall besiege them in the cities of their land, or any plague or any sickenesse,

Si no hay alimento en la tierra, si hay enfermedad, si los frutos de la tierra son dañados por el calor o el agua, la langosta o el gusano; si sus atacantes cierran sus ciudades; cualquier problema o cualquier enfermedad que pueda haber.

29 Then what prayer and supplication so euer shalbe made of any man, or of all thy people Israel, whe euery one shall knowe his owne plague, and his owne disease, and shall stretch forth his hands toward this house,

Cualquier oración o petición que es hecha por cualquier hombre, o por todo tu pueblo Israel, cualquiera que sea su problema, cuyas manos se extienden a esta casa:

30 Heare thou then in heauen, thy dwelling place, and be merciful, and giue euery man according vnto all his wayes, as thou doest knowe his heart (for thou onely knowest the hearts of the children of men)

Escucha desde el cielo, tu morada, responde con perdón, y dale a cada hombre, cuyo corazón secreto está abierto para ti, la recompensa según sus acciones; porque tú, y solo tú, tienes conocimiento de los corazones de los hijos de los hombres;

31 That they may feare thee, and walke in thy wayes as long as they liue in the land which thou gauest vnto our fathers.

Para que puedan adorar y reverenciar, mientras vivan en la tierra que diste a nuestros antepasados.

32 Moreouer, as touching ye stranger which is not of thy people Israel, who shall come out of a farre countrey for thy great Names sake, and thy mighty hande, and thy stretched out arme: when they shall come and pray in this house,

Y en cuanto al hombre extranjero, que no es de tu pueblo Israel, sino que viene de un país lejano por la gloria de tu nombre y tu mano fuerte y tu brazo extendido; Cuando viene a hacer su oración, se dirige a esta casa.

33 Heare thou in heauen thy dwelling place, and doe according to all that the stranger calleth for vnto thee, that all the people of the earth may knowe thy Name, and feare thee like thy people Israel, and that they may knowe, that thy Name is called vpon in this house which I haue built.

Entonces, escucha, desde el cielo, tu morada, y dale su deseo, cualquiera que sea; para que todos los pueblos de la tierra tengan conocimiento de tu nombre, te adoren como lo hace tu pueblo Israel, y vean que tu nombre es invocado en este templo que he construido.

34 When thy people shall goe out to battell against their enemies, by the way that thou shalt send them, and they pray to thee, in the way towarde this citie, which thou hast chosen, euen toward the house which I haue built to thy Name,

Si tu pueblo sale a la guerra contra sus atacantes, por cualquier camino que puedas enviarles, si te hacen sus oraciones, dirigiendo sus rostros hacia este pueblo tuyo que tú escogiste y hacia esta casa que he construido para tu nombre.

35 Then heare thou in heauen their prayer and their supplication, and iudge their cause.

Entonces, escucha desde el cielo a su oración y su clamor de gracia, y ve a su favor.

36 If they sinne against thee (for there is no man that sinneth not) and thou be angry with them and deliuer them vnto the enemies, and they take them and cary them away captiue vnto a land farre or neere,

Si hacen algo malo contra ti, porque ningún hombre está sin pecado y tú estás enojado con ellos, y los entregas al poder de los que luchan contra ellos, para que se los llevan prisioneros a una tierra lejana o cercana;

37 If they turne againe to their heart in the lande whither they be caryed in captiues, and turne and pray vnto thee in the lande of their captiuitie, saying, We haue sinned, we haue transgressed and haue done wickedly,

Y si reflexionan, en la tierra donde están prisioneros, se vuelven hacia ti, te claman en oración en esa tierra y dicen: Somos pecadores, hemos hecho mal, hemos hecho lo malo.

38 If they turne againe to thee with all their heart, and with all their soule in the land of their captiuitie, whither they haue caryed them captiues, and pray toward their land, which thou gauest vnto their fathers, and toward the citie which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I haue built for thy Name,

Si con todo su corazón y alma se vuelven a ti, en la tierra donde están prisioneros, la tierra donde han sido llevados, y hacen sus oraciones, volviendo sus ojos a la tierra que les diste a sus padres, y al pueblo que escogiste, y a la casa que he construido para tu nombre.

39 Then heare thou in heauen, in the place of thine habitation their prayer and their supplication, and iudge their cause, and be mercifull vnto thy people, which haue sinned against thee.

Luego, escucha desde el cielo tu morada a su oración y su clamor, y hazles justicia, respondiendo con perdón a las personas que han pecado contra ti.

40 Nowe my God, I beseech thee, let thine eyes be open, and thine eares attent vnto the prayer that is made in this place.

Ahora, oh Dios mío, que tus ojos estén abiertos y escucha las oraciones hechas en este lugar.

41 Nowe therefore arise, O Lord God, to come into thy rest, thou, and the Arke of thy strength: O Lord God, let thy Priestes be clothed with saluation, and let thy Saints reioyce in goodnesse.

Levántate ahora, oh Señor Dios, vuelve a tu lugar de descanso, tú y él cofre poderoso, que tus sacerdotes, oh Señor Dios, estén vestidos de salvación, y que tus santos se alegren de lo que es bueno.

42 O Lord God, refuse not the face of thine anoynted: remember the mercies promised to Dauid thy seruant.

Oh, Señor Dios, no rechaces el rostro de tu ungido; ten en cuenta tus misericordias para con David, tu siervo.
