2 Chronicles 5
1 So was all the worke finished that Salomon made for the house of the Lord, and Salomon brought in the things that Dauid his father had dedicated, with the siluer and the golde, and all the vessels, and put them among the treasures of the house of God.
Et ainsi fut terminé tout l'ouvrage exécuté par Salomon pour le Temple de l'Éternel, et Salomon introduisit ce que David, son père, avait consacré; et l'argent et l'or et tout le mobilier, il le mit dans le Trésor de la Maison de Dieu.
2 Then Salomon assembled the Elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chiefe fathers of the children of Israel vnto Ierusalem to bring vp the Arke of the couenant of the Lord from the citie of Dauid, which is Zion.
Alors Salomon assembla les Anciens d'Israël et tous les chefs des Tribus, les princes des maisons patriarcales des enfants d'Israël, à Jérusalem pour transférer l'Arche d'Alliance de l'Éternel de la Cité de David, c'est-à-dire, de Sion.
3 And all ye men of Israel assembled vnto the King at the feast: it was in ye seuenth moneth.
Et auprès du roi s'assemblèrent tous les hommes d'Israël à la Fête (c'était le septième mois).
4 And all the Elders of Israel came, and the Leuites tooke vp the Arke.
Et vinrent tous les Anciens d'Israël, et les Lévites portèrent l'Arche.
5 And they caried vp the Arke and the Tabernacle of the Congregation: and all the holy vessels that were in the Tabernacle, those did the Priests and Leuites bring vp.
Et ils apportèrent l'Arche et la Tente du Rendez-vous et tout le mobilier sacré qui était dans la Tente, ces objets furent apportés par les Prêtres, les Lévites.
6 And King Salomon and all the Congregation of Israel that were assembled vnto him, were before ye Arke, offring sheepe and bullocks, which could not be told nor nobred for multitude.
Et le roi Salomon et toute l'Assemblée d'Israël qui s'était réunie auprès de lui, devant l'Arche sacrifièrent des brebis et des bœufs qui ne pouvaient se nombrer, ni se compter, tant il y en avait.
7 So the Priests brought the Arke of the couenant of the Lord vnto his place, into the Oracle of the house, into the most Holy place, euen vnder the wings of the Cherubims.
Et les Prêtres introduisirent l'Arche d'Alliance de l'Éternel à sa place, dans le Sanctuaire de l'édifice, dans le Lieu Très-Saint au-dessous des ailes des Chérubins.
8 For ye Cherubims stretched out their wings ouer the place of the Arke, and the Cherubims couered the Arke and the barres thereof aboue.
Et les Chérubins avaient les ailes étendues sur l'emplacement de l'Arche, et les Chérubins couvraient l'Arche et ses barres d'en haut.
9 And they drewe out the barres, that the endes of the barres might bee seene out of the Arke before the Oracle, but they were not seene without: and there they are vnto this day.
Et les barres étaient assez longues pour que de l'Arche devant le Sanctuaire on pût en voir les extrémités, mais du dehors on ne les apercevait pas, et elle y a été jusqu'à ce jour.
10 Nothing was in the Arke, saue the two Tables, which Moses gaue at Horeb, where the Lord made a couenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.
Il n'y avait rien dans l'Arche que les deux Tables qu'y avait mises Moïse en Horeb, quand l'Éternel fit alliance avec les enfants d'Israël à leur sortie de l'Egypte.
11 And when the Priestes were come out of the Sanctuarie (for all the Priests that were present, were sanctified and did not waite by course.
Et lorsque les Prêtres sortirent du Lieu-Saint, (car tous les Prêtres présents s'étaient mis en état de sainteté, sans égard à la distinction des classes)
12 And the Leuites the singers of all sortes, as of Asaph, of Heman, of Ieduthun, and of their sonnes and of their brethren, being clad in fine linen, stoode with cymbales, and with violes and harpes at the East ende of the altar, and with them an hundreth and twentie Priestes blowing with trumpets:
et lorsque les Lévites, les Chantres, eux tous, savoir Asaph, Heiman et Jeduthun, et leurs fils et leurs frères, vêtus de byssus et munis de cymbales, de harpes et de luths furent debout, au côté oriental de l'autel accompagnés de cent vingt Prêtres sonnant des trompettes,
13 And they were as one, blowing trumpets, and singing, and made one sounde to bee heard in praysing and thanking the Lord, and when they lift vp their voyce with trumpets and with cymbales, and with instruments of musicke, and when they praysed the Lord, singing, For he is good, because his mercie lasteth for euer) then the house, euen the house of the Lord was filled with a cloude,
et lorsque, comme un seul homme, les trompettes et les chantres entonnèrent tout d'une voix la louange de l'Éternel et l'action de grâces à l'Éternel, et lorsqu'ils poussèrent leur voix au bruit des trompettes et des cymbales et des instruments à cordes et louant l'Éternel de ce qu'il est bon et sa miséricorde éternelle, alors l'édifice, le temple de l'Éternel se remplit d'une nuée,
14 So that the Priests could not stand to minister, because of the cloude: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.
et les Prêtres ne pouvaient y tenir pour faire leur service, par l'effet de la nuée, caria gloire de l'Éternel avait rempli la Maison de Dieu.
