2 Chronicles 36

1 Then the people of the lande tooke Iehoahaz the sonne of Iosiah, and made him king in his fathers steade in Ierusalem.

Et le peuple du pays prit Joachaz, fils de Josias, et le fit roi en la place de son père à Jérusalem.

2 Iehoahaz was three and twentie yeere old when he began to reigne, and he reigned three moneths in Ierusalem.

Joachaz avait vingt-trois ans à son avènement, et il régna trois mois à Jérusalem.

3 And the King of Egypt tooke him away at Ierusalem, and condemned the lande in an hundreth talents of siluer, and a talent of gold.

Et le roi d'Égypte le destitua à Jérusalem et frappa le pays d'une amende de cent talents d'argent et un talent d'or.

4 And the King of Egypt made Eliakim his brother King ouer Iudah and Ierusalem, and turned his name to Iehoiakim: and Necho tooke Iehoahaz his brother, and caryed him to Egypt.

Et le roi d'Egypte fit son frère Eliakim roi de Juda et de Jérusalem et changea son nom en celui de Jojakim, et Nécho fit prisonnier son frère Joachaz et le mena en Egypte.

5 Iehoiakim was fiue and twentie yeere old, when he began to reigne, and he reigned eleuen yeere in Ierusalem, and did euill in the sight of the Lord his God.

Jojakim avait vingt-cinq ans à son avènement, et il régna onze ans à Jérusalem. Et il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel, son Dieu.

6 Against him came vp Nebuchadnezzar King of Babel, and bounde him with chaines to cary him to Babel.

Contre lui s'avança Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babel, qui le lia de chaînes pour le mener à Babel.

7 Nebuchadnezzar also caryed of the vessels of the house of the Lord to Babel, and put them in his temple at Babel.

Nebucadnetsar emporta aussi à Babel de la vaisselle du Temple de l'Éternel, et la plaça dans son temple à Babel.

8 Concerning the rest of the actes of Iehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was founde vpon him, behold, they are written in the booke of the Kings of Israel and Iudah, and Iehoiachin his sonne reigned in his stead.

Le reste des actes de Jojakim, et ses abominations, auxquelles il s'adonna, et ce qui se trouvait en lui, cela est d'ailleurs consigné dans le livre des rois d'Israël et de Juda. Et Jojachin, son fils, devint roi en sa place.

9 Iehoiachin was eight yeere olde when he beganne to reigne, and he reigned three moneths and ten dayes in Ierusalem, and did euill in the sight of the Lord.

Jojachin avait [dix-] huit ans à son avènement, et il régna trois mois et dix jours à Jérusalem. Et il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel.

10 And when the yeere was out, King Nebuchadnezzar sent and brought him to Babel with the precious vessels of the house of the Lord, and he made Zedekiah his brother King ouer Iudah and Ierusalem.

Et l'année étant révolue, le roi Nebucadnetsar l'envoya chercher pour l'amener à Babel avec de la vaisselle précieuse du Temple de l'Éternel, et fit Sédécias, son frère, roi de Juda et de Jérusalem.

11 Zedekiah was one and twentie yeere olde, when he beganne to reigne, and reigned eleuen yeere in Ierusalem.

Sédécias avait vingt-un ans à son avènement, et il régna onze ans à Jérusalem.

12 And he did euill in the sight of the Lord his God, and humbled not himselfe before Ieremiah the Prophet at the commandement of the Lord,

Et il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel, son Dieu; il ne s'humilia point devant Jérémie, le prophète, interprète de l'Éternel.

13 But he rebelled moreouer against Nebuchadnezzar, which had caused him to sweare by God: and he hardened his necke and made his heart obstinate that he might not returne to the Lord God of Israel.

Et il se rebella aussi contre le roi Nebucadnetsar, qui l'avait assermenté au nom de Dieu, et il eut le col trop roide, et le cœur trop dur pour revenir à l'Éternel, Dieu d'Israël.

14 All the chiefe of the Priestes also and of the people trespassed wonderfully, according to all the abominations of the heathen, and polluted the house of the Lord which he had sanctified in Ierusalem.

Tous les chefs des Prêtres aussi et le peuple accumulèrent les transgressions imitant toutes les abominables pratiques des nations, et souillèrent le Temple de l'Éternel dont Il avait fait un lieu saint à Jérusalem.

15 Therefore the Lord God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising earely and sending: for he had compassion on his people, and on his habitation.

Et l'Éternel, Dieu de leurs pères, leur adressa des messages par l'organe de ses envoyés, que dès le matin déléguait; car Il voulait épargner son peuple et sa résidence.

16 But they mocked the messengers of God and despised his wordes, and misused his Prophets, vntill the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, and till there was no remedie.

Mais ils se moquèrent des envoyés de Dieu, et méprisèrent leurs avis et se rirent de ses prophètes, jusqu'à ce qu'enfin monta le courroux de l'Éternel contre son peuple pour lequel il n'y eut plus de salut.

17 For he brought vpon them the King of the Caldeans, who slewe their yong men with the sworde in the house of their Sanctuarie, and spared neither yong man, nor virgin, ancient, nor aged. God gaue all into his hande,

Alors il fit marcher contre eux le roi des Chaldéens, qui tua leurs jeunes hommes avec l'épée dans leur Sanctuaire et n'épargna ni l'adolescent, ni la vierge, ni le vieillard et l'homme caduc. Il livra tout entre ses mains.

18 And all the vessels of the house of God great and small, and the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the King, and of his princes: all these caryed he to Babel.

Et tous les meubles de la Maison de Dieu, et les grands et les petits, et les trésors du Temple de l'Éternel et les trésors du roi et de ses princes, il emmena tout à Babel.

19 And they burnt the house of God, and brake downe the wall of Ierusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and all the precious vessels thereof, to destroy all.

Et ils incendièrent la Maison de Dieu et démolirent la muraille de Jérusalem et en livrèrent tous les palais aux flammes et exterminèrent tous les meubles de prix.

20 And they that were left by the sworde, caryed he away to Babel, and they were seruants to him and to his sonnes, vntill the kingdome of the Persians had rule,

Et il emmena à Babel les restants échappés a l'épée, comme prisonniers; et ils lui furent asservis et à ses fils jusqu'à l'avènement de la monarchie des Perses,

21 To fulfill the worde of the Lord by the mouth of Ieremiah, vntill the lande had her fill of her Sabbaths: for all the dayes that she lay desolate, she kept Sabbath, to fulfill seuentie yeeres.

pour accomplir la menace de l'Éternel, prononcée par la bouche de Jérémie, jusqu'à ce que le pays eût satisfait à ses Sabbats; il y satisfit tout le temps de la désolation jusqu'à l'accomplissement de soixante-dix années.

22 But in the first yeere of Cyrus King of Persia (when the worde of the Lord, spoken by the mouth of Ieremiah, was finished) the Lord stirred vp the spirit of Cyrus King of Persia, and he made a proclamation through all his kingdome, and also by writing, saying,

Et dans la première année de Cyrus, roi de Perse, afin que s'accomplît la promesse de l'Éternel faite par la bouche de Jérémie, l'Éternel émut l'esprit de Cyrus, roi de Perse, lequel fit publier de vive voix dans tout son empire, et aussi par un rescrit, ce message:

23 Thus saith Cyrus King of Persia, All the kingdomes of the earth hath the Lord God of heauen giuen me, and hath commanded me to build him an house in Ierusalem, that is in Iudah. Who is among you of all his people, with whom the Lord his God is? let him goe vp.

Ainsi parle Cyrus, roi de Perse: Tous les royaumes de la terre m'ont été donnés par l'Éternel, Dieu des Cieux, et il m'a enjoint de lui édifier une Maison à Jérusalem en Juda. Qu'avec tous ceux qui sont de son peuple, soit l'Éternel, son Dieu, et qu'ils partent!
