2 Chronicles 31

1 And when all these thinges were finished, all Israel that were found in the cities of Iudah, went out and brake the images, and cut downe the groues, and brake downe the hie places, and the altars thorowout all Iudah and Beniamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, vntil they had made an ende: afterwarde all the children of Israel returned euery man to his possession, into their owne cities.

بعد از پایان عید پِسَح، اسرائیلی‌هایی که برای شرکت در عید به اورشلیم آمده بودند به شهرهای یهودا، بنیامین، افرایم و منسی رفتند و بتکده‌های روی تپه‌ها را ویران کرده، تمام بتها، مذبحها و مجسمه‌های شرم‌آور اشیره را در هم کوبیدند. سپس همگی به خانه‌های خود بازگشتند.

2 And Hezekiah appoynted the courses of the Priests and Leuites by their turnes, euery man according to his office, both Priestes and Leuites, for the burnt offring and peace offrings, to minister and to giue thankes, and to prayse in the gates of the tentes of the Lord.

حِزِقیا دسته‌های کاهنان و لاویان را برحسب نوع خدمتی که داشتند دوباره سر خدمت قرار داد. خدمات ایشان عبارت بودند از: تقدیم قربانیهای سوختنی و قربانیهای سلامتی، رهبری مراسم عبادتی و شکرگزاری و خواندن سرود در خانهٔ خداوند.

3 (And the Kings portion was of his owne substance for the burnt offrings, euen for ye burnt offrings of the morning and of the euening, and the burnt offrings for the Sabbaths, and for the new moones, and for the solemne feastes, as it is written in the Law of the Lord)

همچنین برای قربانیهای سوختنی صبح و عصر، قربانیهای روزهای شَبّات و جشنهای ماه نو و سایر عیدها که در تورات خداوند مقرر شده بود، پادشاه از اموال خود حیواناتی هدیه کرد.

4 He commanded also the people that dwelt in Ierusalem, to giue a part to the Priestes, and Leuites, that they might be encouraged in the Law of the Lord.

علاوه بر این، برای اینکه کاهنان و لاویان بتوانند تمام وقت مشغول انجام وظیفه‌ای باشند که در تورات خدا برای آنها مقرر شده بود، از مردم اورشلیم خواست تا سهم مقرر شدهٔ کاهنان و لاویان را به آنها بدهند.

5 And when the commandement was spread, the children of Israel brought abundance of first fruites, of corne, wine, and oyle, and honie, and of all the increase of the fielde, and the tithes of all things brought they abundantly.

به محض صدور فرمان پادشاه، مردم اسرائیل با کمال سخاوتمندی نوبر غله، شراب، روغن زیتون و عسل و نیز ده‌یک تمام محصولات زمین خود را آورده، هدیه کردند.

6 And the children of Israel and Iudah that dwelt in ye cities of Iudah, they also brought the tithes of bullockes and sheepe, and the holy tithes which were consecrate vnto the Lord their God, and laide them on many heapes.

تمام کسانی که در یهودا ساکن بودند علاوه بر ده‌یک گله‌ها و رمه‌ها، مقدار زیادی هدایای دیگر آوردند و برای خداوند، خدای خود وقف کردند.

7 In the thirde moneth they beganne to lay the foundation of the heapes, and finished them in the seuenth moneth.

این کار را از ماه سوم شروع کردند و در ماه هفتم به پایان رساندند.

8 And when Hezekiah and the princes came, and saw the heapes, they blessed the Lord and his people Israel.

وقتی حِزِقیا و بزرگان قوم آمدند و این هدایا را دیدند خداوند را شکر و سپاس گفتند و برای قوم اسرائیل برکت طلبیدند.

9 And Hezekiah questioned with the Priests and the Leuites concerning the heapes.

حِزِقیا از کاهنان و لاویان دربارهٔ هدایا سؤال کرد،

10 And Azariah the chiefe Priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and sayde, Since the people beganne to bring the offrings into the house of the Lord, we haue eaten and haue bene satisfied, and there is left in abundance: for the Lord hath blessed his people, and this abundance that is left.

و عزریا، کاهن اعظم، که از طایفهٔ صادوق بود جواب داد: «از وقتی که مردم شروع کردند به آوردن این هدایای خوراکی به خانهٔ خداوند، ما از آنها خوردیم و سیر شدیم و مقدار زیادی نیز باقی مانده است، زیرا خداوند قوم خود را برکت داده است.»

11 And Hezekiah commanded to prepare chambers in the house of the Lord: and they prepared them,

حِزِقیا دستور داد که در خانهٔ خداوند انبارهایی بسازند.

12 And caryed in the first fruites, and the tithes, and the dedicate things faithfully: and ouer them was Conaniah the Leuite, the chiefe, and Shimei his brother the seconde.

پس از آماده شدن انبارها، تمام مواد خوراکی اهدا شده را در آنجا انبار کردند. مسئولیت نگهداری انبارها به عهدهٔ کننیای لاوی بود و برادرش شمعی نیز او را کمک می‌کرد.

13 And Iehiel, and Azariah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Ierimoth, and Iozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah were ouerseers by the appointment of Conaniah, and Shimei his brother, and by the commandement of Hezekiah the King, and of Azariah the chiefe of the house of God.

ده لاوی دیگر نیز از طرف حِزِقیای پادشاه و عزریا، کاهن اعظم، تعیین شدند تا زیر نظر این دو برادر خدمت کنند. این لاویان عبارت بودند از: یحی‌ئیل، عزریا، نحت، عسائیل، یریموت، یوزاباد، ایلی‌ئیل، یسمخیا، محت و بنایا.

14 And Kore the sonne of Imnah the Leuite porter towarde the East, was ouer the things that were willingly offred vnto God, to distribute the oblations of the Lord, and the holy things that were consecrate.

قوری (پسر یمنهٔ لاوی) که نگهبان دروازهٔ شرقی بود، مسئول توزیع هدایا در میان کاهنان شد. دستیاران او اینها بودند: عیدن، منیامین، یشوع، شمعیا، امریا و شکنیا. ایشان هدایا را به شهرهای کاهنان بردند و میان گروه‌های مختلف کاهنان تقسیم می‌کردند و سهم پیر و جوان را به طور مساوی می‌دادند.

15 And at his hande were Eden, and Miniamin, and Ieshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shechaniah, in the cities of the Priestes, to distribute with fidelitie to their brethren by courses, both to the great and small,

16 Their daily portion: beside their generation being males from three yeere olde and aboue, euen to all that entred into the house of the Lord to their office in their charge, according to their courses:

در ضمن به خانوادهٔ کاهنان نیز سهمی تعلق می‌گرفت.

17 Both to the generation of the Priestes after the house of their fathers, and to the Leuites from twentie yeere olde and aboue, according to their charge in their courses:

نام کاهنان برحسب طایفه‌هایشان و نام لاویان بیست ساله و بالاتر نیز برحسب وظایفی که در گروه‌های مختلف داشتند، ثبت شده بود.

18 And to the generation of all their children, their wiues, and their sonnes and their daughters throughout all ye Congregation: for by their fidelitie are they partakers of the holy things.

به خانواده‌های کاهنانی که نامشان ثبت شده بود، به طور مرتب سهمیه‌ای داده می‌شد زیرا این کاهنان خود را وقف خدمت خدا کرده بودند.

19 Also to the sonnes of Aaron, the Priestes, which were in the fieldes and suburbes of their cities, in euery citie the men that were appointed by names, shoulde giue portions to all the males of the Priestes, and to all the generation of the Leuites.

افرادی نیز تعیین شدند تا هدایای خوراکی را بین کاهنان نسل هارون که در مزارع اطراف شهرها زندگی می‌کردند و نیز بین کسانی که نامشان در نسب نامهٔ لاویان ثبت شده بود، توزیع کنند.

20 And thus did Hezekiah throughout al Iudah, and did well, and vprightly, and truely before the Lord his God.

به این ترتیب حِزِقیای پادشاه در مورد توزیع هدایا در سراسر یهودا اقدام نمود و آنچه در نظر خداوند، خدایش پسندیده و درست بود بجا آورد.

21 And in all the workes that he began for the seruice of the house of God, both in the Law and in the commandements, to seeke his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.

او با تمام دل و جان آنچه برای خانهٔ خدا لازم بود انجام می‌داد و از شریعت و احکام خدا پیروی می‌نمود و به همین جهت همیشه موفق بود.
