2 Chronicles 24
1 Ioash was seuen yere olde, when he began to reigne, and he reigned fourty yeere in Ierusalem: and his mothers name was Zibiah of Beer-sheba.
Yoashi alikuwa na umri wa miaka saba alipoanza kutawala; akatawala kwa mika arobaini katika Yerusalemu. Jina la mama yake aliitwa Sibia wa Beer-sheba.
2 And Ioash did vprightly in the sight of the Lord, all the dayes of Iehoiada the Priest.
Yoashi alifanya yaliyo mema katika macho ya Yahwe siku zote za Yehoyada, yule kuhani.
3 And Iehoiada tooke him two wiues, and he begate sonnes and daughters.
Yehoyada akajichukulia wake wawili kwa ajili yake, na akawa baba wa wana na mabinti.
4 And afterward it came into Ioash mind, to renew the house of the Lord.
Ikawa baada ya haya, kwamba Yoashi aliamua kuitengeneza nyumba ya Yahwe.
5 And he assembled the Priests and the Leuites, and said to them, Goe out vnto the cities of Iudah, and gather of all Israel money to repaire the house of your God, from yeere to yeere, and haste the thing: but the Leuites hasted not.
Akawakusanya pamoja makuhani na Walawi, na kusema kwao, “Nendeni nje kila mwaka kwenye miji ya Yuda na kukusanya fedha kutoka Israeli yote kwa ajili ya kuikarabati nyumba ya Mungu wenu. Hakikisheni kwamba mnaanza haraka.” Walawi hawakufanya kitu kwanza.
6 Therefore the King called Iehoiada, the chiefe, and said vnto him, Why hast thou not required of the Leuites to bring in out of Iudah and Ierusalem the taxe of Moses the seruant of the Lord, and of the Congregation of Israel, for the Tabernacle of the testimonie?
Kwa hiyo mfalme akamuita Yehoyada, yule kuhani, na kumwambia, “Kwa nini hukuwaagiza Walawi kuleta kutoka Yud na Yerusalemu kodo iliyoagizwa na Musa mtumishi wa Yahwe na kusanyiko la Israeli, kwa ajili ya amri za hema ya agano?”
7 For wicked Athaliah, and her children brake vp the house of God: and all the things that were dedicate for the house of the Lord, did they bestowe vpon Baalim.
Kwa maana wana wa Athalia, yule mwanamke muovu, walikuwa wameivunja nyumba ya Mungu na kuwapa Mabaali vitu vyote vitakatifu vya nyumba ya Yahwe.
8 Therefore the King commanded, and they made a chest, and set it at the gate of the house of the Lord without.
Kwa hiyo mfalme aliamuru, na wakatengeneza kasha na kulileta nje kwenye lango kwenye nyumba ya Yahwe.
9 And they made proclamation thorow Iudah and Ierusalem, to bring vnto the Lord the taxe of Moses the seruant of God, layde vpon Israel in the wildernesse.
Kisha wakafanya tangazo katika Yuda na Yerusalemu, kwa ajili ya watu kuleta kwa Yahwe kodi aliyoiagiza Musa mtumishi wa Mungu juu ya Israeli jangwani.
10 And all the princes and all the people reioyced, and brought in, and cast into the chest, vntill they had finished.
Viongozi wote na watu wote wakafurahia na wakaleta fedha na kuiweka kwenye kasha hadi walipomaliza kulijaza.
11 And when it was time, they brought the chest vnto the Kings officer by the hand of the Leuites: and when they saw that there was much siluer, then the Kings Scribe (and one appoynted by the hie Priest) came and emptied the chest, and tooke it, and caried it to his place againe: thus they did day by day, and gathered siluer in abundance.
Ikatokea kwamba kila lilipoletwa kasha kwa mikono ya Walawi kwa wakuu wa mfalme, na kila walipoona kwamba kulikuwa na fedha nyingi sana ndani yake, waandishi wa mfalme na mkuu wa kuhani mkuu walikuja, kulihamishia fedha kasha, na kulirudisha sehemu yake. Walifanya hivyo siku baada siku, wakikusanya kiasi kikubwa cha fedha.
12 And the King and Iehoiada gaue it to such as did the labour and worke in the house of the Lord, and hyred masons and carpenters to repayre the house of the Lord: they gaue it also to workers of yron and brasse, to repayre the house of the Lord.
Mfalme na Yehoyada akawapa zile fedha wale waliofanya kazi ya kuhudumu katika nyumba ya Yahwe, Watu hawa waliwaajiri waashi na maseremala ili waijenge nyumba ya Yahwe, na pia wale waliofanya kazi katika chuma na shaba.
13 So the workemen wrought, and the worke amended through their hands: and they restored the house of God to his state, and strengthened it.
Kwa hiyo wafanya kazi wakafanya kazi, na kazi ya kukarabati ikasonga mbele mikononi mwao; waakaisimamisha nyumba ya Mungu katika hali yake halisi na kuiimarisha.
14 And when they had finished it, they brought the rest of the siluer before the King and Iehoiada, and he made thereof vessels for the house of the Lord, euen vessels to minister, both morters and incense cuppes, and vessels of golde, and of siluer: and they offred burnt offrings in the house of the Lord continually all the dayes of Iehoiada.
Walipomaliza, wakaleta fedha zilizobaki kwa mfalme na Yehoyada. Fedha hizo zilitumika kutengenezea samani kwa ajili ya nyumba ya Yahwe, vyombo vya huduma na kutolea dhabihu—vijiko na vyombo vya dhahabu na fedha. Wakatoa sadaka za kuteketezwa bila kukomaa katika nyumba ya Yahwe kwa siku zote za Yehoyada.
15 But Iehoiada waxed olde, and was ful of dayes and dyed. An hundreth and thirtie yeere olde was he when he dyed.
Yehoyada akazeeka na alaaikuwa amejaa siku, na kisha akafa; alikuwa na umri wa mika 130 alipokufa.
16 And they buried him in the citie of Dauid with the kings, because he had done good in Israel, and toward God and his house.
Wakamzika katika aamji wa Daudi miongoni mwa wafalme, kwa sababu alikuwa amefanya mema katika Israeli, kwa Mungu, na kwa ajili ya nyumba ya Mungu,
17 And after the death of Iehoiada, came the princes of Iudah, and did reuerence to the King, and the King hearkened vnto them.
Sasa baada ya kifo cha Yehoyada, kiongozi wa Yuda akaja na kutoa heshima kwa mfalme. Kisha mfalme akawasikiliza.
18 And they left the house of the Lord God of their fathers, and serued groues and idoles: and wrath came vpon Iudah and Ierusalem, because of this their trespasse.
Wakaiacha nyumba ya Yahwe, Mungu wa babu zao, na kuwaabudu miungu na maashera na sanamu. Ghadhabu ya Mungu ikaja juu ya Yuda na Yerusalemu kwa sababau ya hili kosa lao.
19 And God sent Prophets amog the, to bring them againe vnto the Lord: and they made protestation among them, but they would not heare.
Bado akatuma manabii kwao ili kuwaleta tena kwake, Yahwe, manabii wakatangaza juu ya watu, lakini walipuuza kusikiliza.
20 And the Spirit of God came vpon Zechariah the sonne of Iehoiada the Priest, which stoode aboue the people, and sayde vnto them, Thus sayth God, Why transgresse ye the commandements of the Lord? surely ye shall not prosper: because ye haue forsaken the Lord, he also hath forsaken you.
Roho wa Mungu akaja juu ya Zekaria mwana wa Yehoyada, yule kuhani; Zekaria akasimama juu ya watu na kusema kwao, “Mungu anasema hivi: Kwa nini mnazivunja amri za Yahwe, ili kwamba msifanikiwe? Kwa kuwa mmemsahau Yahwe, pia amewasahau ninyi.”
21 Then they conspired against him and stoned him with stones at the commandement of the King, in the court of the house of the Lord.
Lakini wakapanga njama dhidi yake; kwa amri ya mfalme, wakampiga kwa mawe katika uwanja wa nyumba ya Yahwe.
22 Thus Ioash the King remembred not the kindnesse which Iehoiada his father had done to him, but slewe his sonne. And when he dyed, he sayd, The Lord looke vpon it, and require it.
Katika namna hii hii, Yoashi, yule mfalme, akapuuza ukarimu ambao Yehoyada, baba yake Zekaria, alikuwa amemfanyia.
23 And when the yeere was out, the host of Aram came vp against him, and they came against Iudah and Ierusalem, and destroyed all the princes of the people from among the people, and sent all the spoyle of them vnto the King of Damascus.
Ikawa karibu mwisho wa mwaka, kwamba jeshi la Aramu wakaja juu yake Yoashi. Wakaja Yuda na Yerusalemu; wakawaua viongozi wote wa watu na kupeleka nyara zote kutoka kwao kwa mfalme wa Dameski.
24 Though the armie of Aram came with a small company of men, yet the Lord deliuered a very great armie into their hand, because they had forsaken the Lord God of their fathers: and they gaue sentence against Ioash.
Jeshsi la Waaramu walikuwa wamekuja na jeshi dogo, lakini Yahwe akawapa ushindi juu ya jeshi kubwa, kwa sababu Yuda alikuwa amemsahau Yahwe, Mungu wa babu zao. Katika namna hii Waaramu wakaleta hukumu juu ya Yoashi.
25 And when they were departed from him, (for they left him in great diseases) his owne seruants conspired against him for the blood of the children of Iehoiada the Priest, and slewe him on his bed, and he dyed, and they buryed him in the citie of Dauid: but they buryed him not in the sepulchres of the Kings.
Katika muda ambao Waaramu walikuwa wameondoka, Yoashi alikuwa amejeruhiwa vikali. Watumishi wake wakapanga njama dhidi yake kwa sababu ya mauaji ya wana wa Yehoyada, yule kuhani. Wakamuua katika kitanda chake, na akafa; wakamzika katika mji wa Daudi, lakini siyo katika makaburi ya wafalme.
26 And these are they that conspired against him, Zabad the sonne of Shimrath an Ammonitesse, and Iehozabad the sonne of Shimrith a Moabitesse.
Hawa walikuwa watu waliopanaga njama dhidi yake: Zabadi mwana wa Shimeathi, Mwamoni; na Yehozabadi mwana wa Shimrithi, Mwanamke Mmoabu.
27 But his sonnes, and the summe of the taxe gathered by him, and the foundation of the house of God, behold, they are written in the storie of the booke of the Kings. And Amaziah his sonne reigned in his steade.
Sasa matukio kuhusu wanaye, unabii muhimu uliokuwa umesemwa kumhusu yeye, na kujengwa tena kwa nyumba ya Mungu, ona, yameandikwa katika Kamusi ya kitabu cha wafalme. Amazia mwanaye, akawa mfalme katika nafasi yake.
