2 Chronicles 22
1 And the inhabitants of Ierusalem made Ahaziah his yongest sonne King in his steade: for the armie that came with the Arabians to the campe, had slayne all the eldest: therefore Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah reigned.
Y el pueblo de Jerusalén hizo a Ocozías, su hijo menor, rey en su lugar, porque la banda de hombres que vinieron con los árabes, al campamento había matado a todos los hijos mayores. Y Ocozías, hijo de Joram, llegó a ser rey.
2 Two and fourtie yeere olde was Ahaziah when he began to reigne, and he reigned one yeere in Ierusalem. and his mothers name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.
Ocozías tenía veintidós años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó en Jerusalén por un año. El nombre de su madre era Atalía, la hija de Omri.
3 He walked also in the wayes of the house of Ahab: for his mother counselled him to doe wickedly.
Él siguió los caminos de la familia de Acab, porque su madre era su maestra en el mal.
4 Wherefore he did euill in the sight of the Lord, like the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellers after the death of his father, to his destruction.
E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, como hizo la familia de Acab; porque después de la muerte de su padre fueron sus guías para su destrucción.
5 And he walked after their counsel, and went with Iehoram the sonne of Ahab King of Israel to fight against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth Gilead: and the Aramites smote Ioram.
Siguiendo su sugerencia, fue con Joram, hijo de Acab, rey de Israel, para hacer la guerra a Hazael, rey de Siria, en Ramot-Galaad: y Joram fue herido por los arqueros.
6 And he returned to be healed in Izreel, because of the woundes wherewith they had wounded him at Ramah, when he fought with Hazael King of Aram. Nowe Azariah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah went downe to see Iehoram the sonne of Ahab at Izreel, because hee was diseased.
Y regresó a Jezreel para curarse de las heridas que le habían causado en Ramá cuando luchaba contra Hazael, rey de Siria. Y Ocozías, hijo de Joram, rey de Judá, descendió a Jezreel para ver a Joram, hijo de Acab, porque estaba enfermo.
7 And the destruction of Ahaziah came of God in that he went to Ioram: for when he was come, he went forth with Iehoram against Iehu the sonne of Nimshi, whom the Lord had anointed to destroy the house of Ahab.
Ahora, por el propósito de Dios, el viaje de Ocozías para ver a Joram fue la causa de su caída: porque cuando llegó allí, salió con Joram a encontrarse con Jehú, el hijo de Nimsi, que había sido ungido por el Señor para la destrucción de la familia de Acab.
8 Therefore when Iehu executed iudgement vpon the house of Ahab, and found the princes of Iudah and the sonnes of the brethren of Ahaziah that waited on Ahaziah, he slew them also.
Cuando Jehú estaba efectuando el castigo de la familia de Acab, vino a los príncipes de Judá y a los hijos de los hermanos de Ocozías, los siervos de Ocozías, y los mató.
9 And he sought Ahaziah, and they caught him where he was hid in Samaria, and brought him to Iehu, and slewe him, and buryed him, because, sayd they, he is the sonne of Iehoshaphat, which sought the Lord with all his heart. So the house of Ahaziah was not able to reteine the kingdome.
Y fue en busca de Ocozías; y cuando llegaron donde él estaba porque estaba en un lugar secreto en Samaria, lo llevaron a Jehú y lo mataron; luego lo enterraron, porque dijeron: Él es el hijo de Josafat, cuyo corazón era fiel al Señor. Así que la familia de Ocozías no tenía poder para mantener el reino.
10 Therefore when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah sawe that her sonne was dead, shee arose and destroyed all the Kings seede of the house of Iudah.
Cuando Atalía, la madre de Ocozías, vio que su hijo estaba muerto, ella tuvo todo el resto de la simiente del reino de Judá muerto.
11 But Iehoshabeath the daughter of ye King, tooke Ioash the sonne of Ahaziah, and stale him from among the Kings sonnes, that shoulde be slayne, and put him and his nource in the bed chamber: so Iehoshabeath the daughter of King Iehoram the wife of Iehoiada the Priest (for shee was the sister of Ahaziah) hid him from Athaliah: so she slew him not.
Pero Josaba, la hija del rey, se llevó en secreto a Joás, hijo de Ocozías, de entre los hijos del rey que habían sido ejecutados, y lo puso a él y a la mujer que lo cuidaba en un dormitorio. Así que Josaba, la hija del rey Joram, la esposa de Joiada, el sacerdote y la hermana de Ocozías, lo mantuvo a salvo de Atalía, para que ella no lo matara.
12 And hee was with them hid in the house of God sixe yeeres, whiles Athaliah reigned ouer the land.
Y lo mantuvo a salvo con ellas en la casa de Dios durante seis años, mientras Atalía estaba gobernando la tierra.
