2 Chronicles 22
1 And the inhabitants of Ierusalem made Ahaziah his yongest sonne King in his steade: for the armie that came with the Arabians to the campe, had slayne all the eldest: therefore Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah reigned.
E os moradores de Jerusalem fizeram rei a Achazias, seu filho mais moço, em seu logar: porque a tropa, que viera com os arabios ao arraial, tinha morto a todos os mais velhos: e assim reinou Achazias, filho de Jorão, rei de Judah.
2 Two and fourtie yeere olde was Ahaziah when he began to reigne, and he reigned one yeere in Ierusalem. and his mothers name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.
Era da edade de quarenta e dois annos, quando começou a reinar, e reinou um anno em Jerusalem: e era o nome de sua mãe Athalia, filha d'Omri.
3 He walked also in the wayes of the house of Ahab: for his mother counselled him to doe wickedly.
Tambem este andou nos caminhos da casa d'Achab; porque sua mãe era sua conselheira, para obrar impiamente.
4 Wherefore he did euill in the sight of the Lord, like the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellers after the death of his father, to his destruction.
E fez o que era mal aos olhos do Senhor, como a casa d'Achab, porque elles eram seus conselheiros depois da morte de seu pae, para a sua perdição.
5 And he walked after their counsel, and went with Iehoram the sonne of Ahab King of Israel to fight against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth Gilead: and the Aramites smote Ioram.
Tambem andou no seu conselho, e foi-se com Jorão, filho d'Achab, rei d'Israel, á peleja contra Hazael, rei da Syria, junto a Ramoth-gilead: e os syros feriram a Jorão,
6 And he returned to be healed in Izreel, because of the woundes wherewith they had wounded him at Ramah, when he fought with Hazael King of Aram. Nowe Azariah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah went downe to see Iehoram the sonne of Ahab at Izreel, because hee was diseased.
E tornou a curar-se em Jezreel, das feridas que se lhe deram junto a Rama, pelejando contra Hazael, rei da Syria: e Azarias, filho de Jorão, rei de Judah, desceu para ver a Jorão, filho d'Achab, em Jezreel; porque estava doente.
7 And the destruction of Ahaziah came of God in that he went to Ioram: for when he was come, he went forth with Iehoram against Iehu the sonne of Nimshi, whom the Lord had anointed to destroy the house of Ahab.
Veiu pois de Deus o abatimento d'Achazias, para que viesse a Jorão; porque vindo elle, saiu com Jorão contra Jehu, filho de Nimsi, a quem o Senhor tinha ungido para desarreigar a casa d'Achab.
8 Therefore when Iehu executed iudgement vpon the house of Ahab, and found the princes of Iudah and the sonnes of the brethren of Ahaziah that waited on Ahaziah, he slew them also.
E succedeu que, executando Jehu juizo contra a casa d'Achab, achou os principes de Judah e os filhos dos irmãos d'Achazias, que serviam a Achazias, e os matou.
9 And he sought Ahaziah, and they caught him where he was hid in Samaria, and brought him to Iehu, and slewe him, and buryed him, because, sayd they, he is the sonne of Iehoshaphat, which sought the Lord with all his heart. So the house of Ahaziah was not able to reteine the kingdome.
Depois buscou a Achazias (porque se tinha escondido em Samaria), e o alcançaram, e o trouxeram a Jehu, e o mataram, e o sepultaram; porque disseram: Filho é de Josaphat, que buscou ao Senhor com todo o seu coração. E não tinha já a casa d'Achazias ninguem que tivesse força para o reino.
10 Therefore when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah sawe that her sonne was dead, shee arose and destroyed all the Kings seede of the house of Iudah.
Vendo pois Athalia, mãe d'Achazias, que seu filho era morto, levantou-se, e destruiu, toda a semente real da casa de Judah.
11 But Iehoshabeath the daughter of ye King, tooke Ioash the sonne of Ahaziah, and stale him from among the Kings sonnes, that shoulde be slayne, and put him and his nource in the bed chamber: so Iehoshabeath the daughter of King Iehoram the wife of Iehoiada the Priest (for shee was the sister of Ahaziah) hid him from Athaliah: so she slew him not.
Porém Josebath, filha do rei, tomou a Joás, filho d'Achazias, e furtou-o d'entre os filhos do rei, a quem matavam, e o poz com a sua ama na camara dos leitos: assim Josebath, filha do rei Jorão, mulher do sacerdote Joiada (porque era irmã d'Achazias), o escondeu de diante d'Athalia, de modo que o não matou.
12 And hee was with them hid in the house of God sixe yeeres, whiles Athaliah reigned ouer the land.
E esteve com elles escondido na casa de Deus seis annos: e Athalia reinou sobre a terra.
