2 Chronicles 21
1 Iehosphaphat then slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid: and Iehoram his sonne reigned in his steade.
Und Josaphat legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und er wurde bei seinen Vätern begraben in der Stadt Davids. Und [2. Kön. 8,16] Joram, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.
2 And he had brethren the sonnes of Iehoshaphat, Azariah, and Iehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah. All these were the sonnes of Iehoshaphat King of Israel.
Und er hatte Brüder, Söhne Josaphats: Asarja und Jechiel und Sekarja und Asarja und Michael und Schephatja; alle diese waren Söhne Josaphats, des Königs von Israel. [d. h. Israel im allgemeinen Sinne; vergl. v 4; Kap. 12,6;28,19]
3 And their father gaue them great giftes of siluer and of golde, and of precious things, with strong cities in Iudah, but the kingdome gaue he to Iehoram: for he was the eldest.
Und ihr Vater gab ihnen viele Geschenke an Silber und an Gold und an Kostbarkeiten, nebst festen Städten in Juda; aber das Königreich gab er Joram, denn er war der Erstgeborene.
4 And Iehoram rose vp vpon the kingdom of his father, and made himselfe strong, and slew all his brethren with the sworde, and also of the princes of Israel.
Und als Joram über das Königreich seines Vaters aufgestanden und erstarkt war, da tötete er alle seine Brüder und auch einige Oberste von Israel mit dem Schwerte.
5 Iehoram was two and thirtie yeere olde, when he began to reigne, and he reigned eyght yeere in Ierusalem.
Zweiunddreißig Jahre war Joram alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte acht Jahre zu Jerusalem.
6 And he walked in the way of the Kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done: for he had the daughter of Ahab to wife, and he wrought euill in the eyes of the Lord.
Und er wandelte auf dem Wege der Könige von Israel, wie das Haus Ahabs getan hatte, denn er hatte eine Tochter Ahabs zum Weibe; und er tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovas.
7 Howbeit the Lord would not destroy the house of Dauid, because of the couenant that he had made with Dauid, and because he had promised to giue a light to him, and to his sonnes for euer.
Aber Jehova wollte das Haus Davids nicht verderben, um des Bundes willen, den er mit David gemacht, und so wie er gesagt hatte, daß er ihm und seinen Söhnen eine Leuchte geben wolle alle Tage.
8 In his dayes Edom rebelled from vnder the hand of Iudah, and made a King ouer them.
In seinen Tagen fielen die Edomiter von der Botmäßigkeit Judas ab und setzten einen König über sich.
9 And Iehoram went forth with his princes, and all his charets with him: and hee rose vp by night, and smote Edom, which had compassed him in, and the captaines of the charets.
Da zog Joram hinüber mit seinen Obersten, und alle Wagen mit ihm. Und es geschah, als er sich des Nachts aufmachte, da schlug er die Edomiter, welche ihn und die Obersten der Wagen umringt hatten.
10 But Edom rebelled from vnder the hande of Iudah vnto this day. then did Libnah rebell at the same time from vnder his hand, because he had forsaken the Lord God of his fathers.
So fielen die Edomiter von der Botmäßigkeit Judas ab bis auf diesen Tag. Damals, zu derselben Zeit, fiel auch Libna von seiner Botmäßigkeit ab; denn er hatte Jehova, den Gott seiner Väter, verlassen.
11 Moreouer hee made hie places in the mountaines of Iudah, and caused the inhabitants of Ierusalem to commit fornication, and compelled Iudah thereto.
Auch er machte Höhen auf den Bergen Judas, und er verleitete die Bewohner von Jerusalem, Hurerei zu treiben, und verführte Juda dazu.
12 And there came a writing to him from Elijah the Prophet, saying, Thus sayth the Lord God of Dauid thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the wayes of Iehoshaphat thy father, nor in the wayes of Asa King of Iudah,
Da gelangte eine Schrift von Elia, dem Propheten, an ihn, welche lautete: So spricht Jehova, der Gott deines Vaters David: Darum, daß du nicht auf den Wegen deines Vaters Josaphat und auf den Wegen Asas, des Königs von Juda, gewandelt hast,
13 But hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Iudah and the inhabitantes of Ierusalem to go a whoring, as the house of Ahab went a whoring, and hast also slaine thy brethre of thy fathers house, which were better then thou,
sondern auf dem Wege der Könige von Israel gewandelt und Juda und die Bewohner von Jerusalem verleitet hast, Hurerei zu treiben, nach den Hurereien des Hauses Ahabs, und auch deine Brüder, das Haus deines Vaters, ermordet hast, die besser waren als du:
14 Beholde, with a great plague will the Lord smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wiues, and all thy substance,
siehe, so wird Jehova dein Volk und deine Söhne und deine Weiber und alle deine Habe plagen mit einer großen Plage;
15 And thou shalt be in great diseases in the disease of thy bowels, vntill thy bowels fall out for the disease, day by day.
du aber wirst schwer erkranken an einer Krankheit deiner [W. du aber wirst in vielen [od. großen] Krankheiten sein, in Erkrankung deiner usw.] Eingeweide, bis deine Eingeweide infolge der Krankheit heraustreten werden Tag für Tag. [O. von Zeit zu Zeit; so auch v 19]
16 So the Lord stirred vp against Iehoram the spirite of the Philistims, and the Arabians that were beside the Ethiopians.
Und Jehova erweckte wider Joram den Geist der Philister und der Araber, die zur Seite der Kuschiter wohnen.
17 And they came vp into Iudah, and brake into it, and caryed away all the substance that was found in the Kings house, and his sonnes also, and his wiues, so that there was not a sonne left him, saue Iehoahaz, the yongest of his sonnes.
Und sie zogen wider Juda herauf und brachen ein und führten alle Habe weg, die sich im Hause des Königs vorfand, und auch seine Söhne und seine Weiber; und es blieb ihm kein Sohn übrig als nur Joahas, der jüngste seiner Söhne.
18 And after all this, the Lord smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease.
Und nach allem diesem plagte ihn Jehova mit einer unheilbaren Krankheit in seinen Eingeweiden.
19 And in processe of time, euen after the end of two yeeres, his guttes fell out with his disease: so he dyed of sore diseases: and his people made no burning for him like the burning of his fathers.
Und es geschah von Tag zu Tag, und zur Zeit, als das Ende von zwei Jahren eintrat, daß seine Eingeweide bei seiner Krankheit heraustraten [O. Und es geschah nach vielen Tagen, und zwar zur Zeit, da traten usw.; ] und er starb unter heftigen Schmerzen. Und sein Volk machte ihm keinen Brand gleich dem Brande seiner Väter.
20 When he began to reigne, he was two and thirtie yeere olde, and reigned in Ierusalem eight yeere, and liued without being desired: yet they buryed him in the citie of Dauid, but not among the sepulchres of the Kings.
Jahre war er alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte acht Jahre zu Jerusalem. Und er ging hin, ohne vermißt zu werden; und man begrub ihn in der Stadt Davids, aber nicht in den Gräbern der Könige.
