2 Chronicles 20
1 After this also came the children of Moab and the children of Ammon, and with them of the Ammonites against Iehoshaphat to battell.
Pasadas estas cosas aconteció que los hijos de Moab y de Ammón, y con ellos de los Ammonitas, vinieron contra Josafat a la guerra.
2 Then there came that tolde Iehoshaphat, saying, There commeth a great multitude against thee from beyonde the Sea, out of Aram: and beholde, they bee in Hazzon Tamar, which is En-gedi.
Y vinieron, y dieron aviso a Josafat, diciendo: Contra ti viene una grande multitud de la otra parte de la mar, y de Siria; y, he aquí, ellos están en Asason-tamar, que es Engadí.
3 And Iehoshaphat feared, and set him selfe to seeke the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Iudah.
Entonces él hubo temor: y puso Josafat su rostro, para consultar a Jehová, e hizo pregonar ayuno a todo Judá.
4 And Iudah gathered them selues together to aske counsel of the Lord: they came euen out of all the cities of Iudah to inquire of the Lord,
Y juntáronse los de Judá para buscar socorro de Jehová: y también de todas las ciudades de Judá vinieron para buscar socorro de Jehová.
5 And Iehoshaphat stoode in the Congregation of Iudah and Ierusalem in the house of the Lord before the new court,
Y púsose Josafat en pie en la congregación de Judá y de Jerusalem, en la casa de Jehová, delante del patio nuevo,
6 And saide, O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heauen? and reignest not thou on all the kingdomes of the heathen? and in thine hande is power and might, and none is able to withstand thee.
Y dijo: Jehová Dios de nuestros padres ¿no eres tú Dios en los cielos? ¿Y no te enseñoreas en todos los reinos de las gentes? ¿No está en tu mano la fuerza y el poder, que no hay quien te resista?
7 Diddest not thou our God cast out ye inhabitants of this lande before thy people Israel, and gauest it to the seede of Abraham thy friende for euer?
Dios nuestro, ¿no echaste tú los moradores de aquesta tierra delante de tu pueblo Israel, y la diste a la simiente de Abraham tu amigo para siempre?
8 And they dwelt therein, and haue built thee a Sanctuarie therein for thy Name, saying,
Y ellos han habitado en ella, y te han edificado en ella santuario a tu nombre, diciendo:
9 If euill come vpon vs, as the sworde of iudgement, or pestilence, or famine, we will stande before this house and in thy presence (for thy name is in this house) and will crie vnto thee in our tribulation, and thou wilt heare and helpe.
Si mal viniere sobre nosotros, o espada de juicio, o pestilencia, o hambre, presentarnos hemos delante de esta casa, y delante de ti; porque tu nombre está en esta casa; y de nuestras tribulaciones clamarémos a ti, y tú nos oirás y salvarás.
10 And now beholde, the children of Ammon and Moab, and mount Seir, by whome thou wouldest not let Israel goe, when they came out of the land of Egypt: but they turned aside from them, and destroyed them not:
Ahora pues, he aquí los hijos de Ammón y de Moab, y el monte de Seir, por los cuales no quisiste que pasase Israel, cuando venían de la tierra de Egipto, sino que se apartasen de ellos, y no los destruyesen;
11 Behold, I say, they reward vs, in comming to cast vs out of thine inheritance, which thou hast caused vs to inherit.
He aquí, ellos nos dan el pago, que vienen a echarnos de tu posesión, que tú nos diste que poseyésemos.
12 O our God, wilt thou not iudge them? for there is no strength in vs to stand before this great multitude that commeth against vs, neither doe wee knowe what to doe: but our eyes are toward thee.
Dios nuestro, ¿no los juzgarás tú? Porque en nosotros no hay fuerza contra tan grande multitud que viene contra nosotros: no sabemos lo que hemos de hacer; mas a ti son nuestros ojos.
13 And all Iudah stoode before the Lord with their yong ones, their wiues, and their children.
Y todo Judá estaba en pie delante de Jehová, también sus niños, y sus mujeres, y sus hijos.
14 And Iahaziel the sonne of Zechariah the sonne of Benaiah, the sonne of Ieiel, the sonne of Mattaniah, a Leuite of the sonnes of Asaph was there, vpon whome came the Spirite of ye Lord, in the middes of the Congregation.
Y estaba allí Jahaziel, hijo de Zacarías, hijo de Banaías, hijo de Jehiel, hijo de Matanías, Levita de los hijos de Asaf, sobre el cual vino el Espíritu de Jehová, en medio de la congregación;
15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Iudah, and ye inhabitantes of Ierusalem, and thou, King Iehoshaphat: thus saith the Lord vnto you, Feare you not, neither be afraide for this great multitude: for the battel is not yours, but Gods.
Y dijo: Oíd todo Judá, y moradores de Jerusalem, y tú rey Josafat: Jehová os dice así: No temáis, ni hayáis miedo delante de esta tan grande multitud; porque no es vuestra la guerra, sino de Dios.
16 To morowe goe yee downe against them: beholde, they come vp by the cleft of Ziz, and ye shall finde them at the ende of the brooke before the wildernesse of Ieruel.
Mañana descenderéis contra ellos: he aquí que ellos subirán por la cuesta de Sis; y hallarlos heis junto al arroyo, antes del desierto de Jeruel.
17 Ye shall not neede to fight in this battell: stand still, moue not, and behold the saluation of the Lord towardes you: O Iudah, and Ierusalem, feare ye not, neither be afraid: to morow goe out against them, and the Lord wilbe with you.
Y no habrá para que vosotros peleéis ahora: paráos, estád quedos, y ved la salud de Jehová con vosotros, Oh Judá y Jerusalem: no temáis ni desmayéis; salíd mañana contra ellos: que Jehová será con vosotros.
18 Then Iehoshaphat bowed downe with his face to the earth, and all Iudah and the inhabitants of Ierusalem fell downe before the Lord, worshipping the Lord.
Entonces Josafat inclinó su rostro a tierra, y asimismo todo Judá y los moradores de Jerusalem se postraron delante de Jehová, y adoraron a Jehová.
19 And the Leuites of the children of the Kohathites and of the childre of the Corhites stood vp to prayse the Lord God of Israel with a loude voyce on hie.
Y levantáronse los Levitas de los hijos de Caat, y de los hijos de Coré, para alabar a Jehová el Dios de Israel a grande y alta voz.
20 And when they arose early in the morning, they went forth to the wildernesse of Tekoa: and as they departed, Iehoshaphat stoode and sayde, Heare ye me, O Iudah, and ye inhabitants of Ierusalem: put your trust in the Lord your God, and ye shalbe assured: beleeue his Prophets, and ye shall prosper.
Y como se levantaron por la mañana, salieron por el desierto de Tecua: y mientras ellos salían, Josafat estando en pie, dijo: Oídme Judá, y moradores de Jerusalem: Creéd a Jehová vuestro Dios, y seréis seguros: y creéd a sus profetas, y seréis prosperados.
21 And when he had consulted with the people, and appoynted singers vnto the Lord, and them that should prayse him that is in the beautifull Sanctuarie, in going forth before the men of armes, and saying, Prayse ye the Lord, for his mercy lasteth for euer,
Y habido consejo con el pueblo, puso a algunos que cantasen a Jehová; y alabasen en la hermosura de la santidad, mientras que salía la gente armada, y dijesen: Glorificád a Jehová, porque su misericordia es para siempre.
22 And when they began to shoute, and to prayse, the Lord layed ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Iudah, and they slewe one another.
Y como comenzaron con clamor y con alabanza, puso Jehová asechanzas contra los hijos de Ammón, de Moab, y del monte de Seir, que venían contra Judá: y matáronse los unos a los otros.
23 For the children of Ammon and Moab rose against the inhabitants of mount Seir, to slay and to destroy them and when they had made an end of the inhabitantes of Seir, euery one helped to destroy another.
Y los hijos de Ammón y Moab se levantaron contra los del monte de Seir, para matarlos y destruirlos: y como hubieron acabado a los del monte de Seir, cada cual ayudó a su compañero a matarse.
24 And when Iudah came towarde Mizpah in the wildernes, they looked vnto the multitude: and behold, the carkeises were fallen to the earth, and none escaped.
Y como vino Judá a la atalaya del desierto, miraron por la multitud, y, hélos aquí que estaban tendidos en tierra muertos, que ninguno había escapado.
25 And when Iehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoyle of them, they founde among them in abundance both of substance and also of bodies laden with precious iewels, which they tooke for themselues, till they could cary no more: they were three dayes in gathering of the spoyle: for it was much.
Y viniendo Josafat y su pueblo a despojarlos, hallaron en ellos muchas riquezas, y cuerpos muertos, y vestidos, y vasos preciados; los cuales tomaron para sí, que no los podían llevar: tres días duró el despojo, porque era mucho.
26 And in the fourth day they assembled themselues in the valley of Berachah: for there they blessed the Lord: therefore they called the name of that place, The valley of Berachah vnto this day.
Y al cuarto día juntáronse en el valle de la bendición, porque allí bendijeron a Jehová: y por esto llamaron al nombre de aquel lugar el valle de Beraca, hasta hoy.
27 Then euery man of Iudah and Ierusalem returned with Iehoshaphat their head, to goe againe to Ierusalem with ioy: for the Lord had made them to reioyce ouer their enemies.
Y todo Judá, y los de Jerusalem, y Josafat por su cabeza, volvieron para tornarse a Jerusalem con gozo, porque Jehová les había dado gozo de sus enemigos.
28 And they came to Ierusalem with viols and with harpes, and with trumpets, euen vnto the house of the Lord.
Y vinieron a Jerusalem con salterios, arpas, y bocinas a la casa de Jehová.
29 And the feare of God was vpon all the kingdomes of the earth, whe they had heard that the Lord had fought against ye enemies of Israel.
Y vino el pavor de Dios sobre todos los reinos de la tierra, cuando oyeron que Jehová había peleado contra los enemigos de Israel.
30 So the kingdom of Iehoshaphat was quiet, and his God gaue him rest on euery side.
Y el reino de Josafat tuvo reposo, porque su Dios le dio reposo de todas partes.
31 And Iehoshaphat reigned ouer Iudah, and was fiue and thirtie yeere olde, when he began to reigne: and reigned fiue and twentie yeere in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
Así reinó Josafat sobre Judá: de treinta y cinco años era cuando comenzó a reinar: y reinó veinte y cinco años en Jerusalem. El nombre de su madre fue Azuba, hija de Selaquí.
32 And he walked in the way of Asa his father, and departed not therefrom, doing that which was right in the sight of the Lord.
Y anduvo en el camino de Asa su padre, sin apartarse de él, haciendo lo que era recto en los ojos de Jehová.
33 Howbeit the hie places were not taken away: for the people had not yet prepared their hearts vnto the God of their fathers.
Con todo eso los altos no eran quitados; que el pueblo aun no había aparejado su corazón al Dios de sus padres.
34 Concerning the rest of the actes of Iehoshaphat first and last, beholde, they are written in the booke of Iehu the sonne of Hanani, which is mentioned in the booke of the kings of Israel.
Lo demás de los hechos de Josafat, primeros y postreros, he aquí, están escritos en las palabras de Jehú, hijo de Janani, del cual es hecha mención en el libro de los reyes de Israel.
35 Yet after this did Iehoshaphat King of Iudah ioyne himselfe with Ahaziah King of Israel, who was giuen to do euill.
Pasadas estas cosas, Josafat rey de Judá hizo amistad con Ocozías rey de Israel, el cual fue dado a impiedad.
36 And he ioyned with him, to make ships to go to Tarshish: and they made the shippes in Ezion Gaber.
E hizo con él compañía para aparejar navíos, que fuesen a Társis. E hicieron navíos en Asión-gaber.
37 Then Eliezer ye sonne of Dodauah of Mareshah prophecied against Iehoshaphat, saying, Because thou hast ioyned thy selfe with Ahaziah, the Lord hath broken thy workes. and the shippes were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish.
Entonces Eliezer, hijo de Dodava de Maresa, profetizó contra Josafat, diciendo: Por cuanto has hecho compañía con Ocozías, Jehová destruirá tus obras. Y los navíos se quebraron, y no pudieron ir a Társis.
