2 Chronicles 19

1 And Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah returned safe to his house in Ierusalem.

१यहूदाचा राजा यहोशाफाट यरूशलेमामध्ये आपल्या घरी सुखरुप परतला.

2 And Iehu the sonne of Hanani the Seer went out to meete him, and said to King Iehoshaphat, Wouldest thou helpe the wicked, and loue them that hate the Lord? therefore for this thing the wrath of the Lord is vpon thee.

२हनानीचा पुत्र येहू हा द्रष्टा होता तो राजा यहोशाफाटाला सामोरा गेला. येहू यहोशाफाटाला म्हणाला, “दुष्टांच्या मदतीला तू का गेलास? परमेश्वराचा द्वेष करणाऱ्यांबद्दल तुला आपुलकी का वाटावी? म्हणूनच परमेश्वराचा तुझ्यावर कोप झाला आहे.”

3 Neuertheles good things are found in thee, because thou hast taken away ye groues out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seeke God.

३पण तू काही चांगल्या गोष्टीही केल्या आहेस. या देशातून तू अशेराचे खांब हटवलेस आणि परमेश्वरास अनुसरायचे तू मन: पूर्वक ठरवले आहेस.

4 So Iehoshaphat dwelt at Ierusalem, and returned and went through the people from Beer-sheba to mount Ephraim, and brought them againe vnto the Lord God of their fathers.

४यहोशाफाट यरूशलेमामध्ये राहत असे, त्याने पुन्हा एकदा बैर-शेबापासून एफ्राइमाच्या डोंगराळ प्रदेशापर्यंत फिरुन लोकांच्या भेटी घेतल्या. त्याने लोकांस पुन्हा एकदा त्यांच्या पूर्वजांचा देव परमेश्वर याच्याकडे वळवले.

5 And hee set iudges in the lande throughout all the strong cities of Iudah, citie by citie,

५तसेच त्याने यहूदामध्ये आणि यहूदाच्या प्रत्येक तटबंदीच्या नगरांत न्यायाधीश नेमले.

6 And said to the iudges, Take heede what ye doe: for yee execute not the iudgements of man, but of the Lord, and he will be with you in the cause and iudgement.

६यहोशाफाटाने या न्यायाधीशांना सांगितले, “तुम्ही जे करायचे ते विचारपूर्वक करा. कारण लोकांसाठी नव्हे तर परमेश्वरासाठी तुम्ही न्याय करत आहात. तुमच्या निर्णयाला त्याची साथ असेल.

7 Wherefore nowe let the feare of the Lord be vpon you: take heede, and do it: for there is no iniquitie with the Lord our God, neither respect of persons, nor receiuing of reward.

७तुम्ही सर्वांनी परमेश्वराचे भय बाळगावे. तुम्ही जे काही कराल ते सांभाळून काळजीपूर्वक करा कारण आपला परमेश्वर देव न्यायी आहे. लोकांच्या बाबतीत तो पक्षपाती नाही. आणि लाच घेऊन न्याय फिरवणे हे ही त्याच्या नीतीत बसत नाही.”

8 Moreouer in Ierusalem did Iehoshaphat set of the Leuites, and of the Priests and of the chiefe of the families of Israel, for the iudgement and cause of the Lord: and they returned to Ierusale.

८यानंतर यहोशाफाटाने यरूशलेमामध्ये काही परमेश्वराचे लेवी, याजक तसेच इस्राएल घराण्यांतील वयस्कर मंडळी यांना न्यायाधीश म्हणून नेमले. परमेश्वराच्या नियमांना अनुसरुन त्यांनी यरूशलेमामधल्या रहिवाश्यांच्या वादांचा निकाल लावायचा होता. ते यरूशलेमेत राहीले

9 And he charged them, saying, Thus shall yee doe in the feare of the Lord faithfully and with a perfite heart.

९यहोशाफाटाने त्यांना आज्ञापूर्वक सांगितले की, “परमेश्वराचे भय धरुन निष्कपट रीतीने आणि मन: पूर्वक ही सेवा करा.

10 And in euery cause that shall come to you of your brethren that dwel in their cities, betweene blood and blood, betweene law and precept, statutes and iudgements, ye shall iudge them, and admonish them that they trespasse not against the Lord, that wrath come not vpon you and vpon your brethren. This shall ye do and trespasse not.

१०खुनाचा वाद, कायदा, नियम, आज्ञा, किंवा एखादा न्याय यासंबंधी तुमच्याकडे वाद येतील. हे वाद नगरात राहणाऱ्या तुमच्या बांधवांकडूनच उपस्थित केले जातील. अशा सर्वबाबतीत प्रत्येक वेळी लोकांस सांगा की त्यांनी परमेश्वराविरुध्द पाप करु नये. हे तुम्ही निष्ठेने पार पाडले नाहीत तर तुमच्यावर आणि या तुमच्या भाऊबंदांवर परमेश्वराचा कोप ओढवेल. एवढे करा म्हणजे तुमच्या मनात अपराधभाव राहणार नाही.

11 And behold, Amariah the Priest shalbe the chiefe ouer you in all matters of the Lord, and Zebadiah ye sonne of Ishmael, a ruler of the house of Iudah, shalbe for al the Kings affaires, and the Leuites shalbe officers before you. Bee of courage, and doe it, and the Lord shalbe with the good.

११अमऱ्या हा मुख्य याजक आहे. परमेश्वराच्या बाबतीतल्या सर्व गोष्टींमध्ये त्याचे वर्चस्व राहील आणि इश्माएलचा पुत्र जबद्या, राजाच्या बाबतीतल्या सर्व गोष्टीविषयी मुखत्यार म्हणून नेमलेला आहे. जबद्या हा यहूदा वंशाचा अधिकारी आहे. लेवी हे लेखनिक कारभारी म्हणून तुमच्या दिमतीला आहेत. जे जे कराल ते धैर्याने करा. उचित तेच करणाऱ्यांना परमेश्वराची साथ असो.”
