2 Chronicles 11
1 And when Rehoboam was come to Ierusalem, he gathered of the house of Iudah and Beniamin nine score thousande chosen men of warre to fight against Israel, and to bring the kingdome againe to Rehoboam.
Llegado a Jerusalén reunió Roboam la casa de Judá y la de Benjamín, ciento ochenta mil hombres, tropas escogidas, para atacar a Israel y devolver el reino a Roboam.
2 But the worde of the Lord came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
Entonces llegó la palabra de Yahvé a Semeías, varón de Dios, en estos términos:
3 Speake vnto Rehoboam, the sonne of Salomon King of Iudah, and to all Israel that are in Iudah, and Beniamin, saying,
Habla a Roboam, hijo de Salomón, rey de Judá, y a todo Israel que está en Judá y Benjamín, diciendo:
4 Thus sayth the Lord, Ye shall not goe vp, nor fight against your brethren: returne euery man to his house: for this thing is done of me. They obeyed therfore the word of the Lord, and returned from going against Ieroboam.
Así dice Yahvé: “No subáis a luchar con vuestros hermanos; vuélvase cada cual a su casa; pues por voluntad mía ha sido hecho esto.” Y ellos, al oír las palabras de Yahvé, desistieron de marchar contra Jeroboam.
5 And Rehoboam dwelt in Ierusalem, and buylt strong cities in Iudah.
Roboam habitó en Jerusalén, y edificó ciudades fortificadas en Judá.
6 Hee buylt also Beth-lehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,
Fortificó a Betlehem, Etam, Tecoa,
7 And Beth-zur, and Shoco, and Adullam,
Betsur, Socó, Odullam,
8 And Gath, and Maresha, and Ziph,
Gat, Maresá, Cif,
9 And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
Adoraim, Laquís, Acecá,
10 And Zorah, and Aialon, and Hebron, which were in Iudah and Beniamin, strong cities.
Zorá, Ayalón y Hebrón, ciudades fortificadas situadas en Judá y en Benjamín.
11 And he repaired the strong holdes and put captaines in them, and store of vitaile, and oyle and wine.
Después de restaurar las fortalezas, puso en ellas comandantes, provisiones de víveres, de aceite y de vino,
12 And in all cities he put shieldes and speares, and made them exceeding strong: so Iudah and Beniamin were his.
y en cada una de ellas escudos y lanzas; y las hizo sumamente fuertes. Con él estaban Judá y Benjamín.
13 And the Priests and the Leuites that were in all Israel, resorted vnto him out of all their coastes.
Los sacerdotes y los levitas de todo Israel se vinieron a él desde todos sus territorios;
14 For the Leuites left their suburbes and their possession, and came to Iudah and to Ierusalem: for Ieroboam and his sonnes had cast them out from ministring in the Priestes office vnto the Lord.
pues los levitas abandonaron sus ejidos y sus posesiones y se fueron a Judá y a Jerusalén, porque Jeroboam y sus hijos les habían prohibido el ejercicio de las funciones sacerdotales en honor de Yahvé;
15 And he ordeyned him Priests for the hie places, and for the deuils and for the calues which he had made.
y además había establecido sacerdotes para los lugares altos, los sátiros y los becerros que había hecho.
16 And after the Leuites there came to Ierusalem of all the tribes of Israel, such as set their heartes to seeke the Lord God of Israel, to offer vnto the Lord God of their fathers.
Los siguieron aquellos que de entre todas las tribus de Israel tenían puesto su corazón en buscar a Yahvé, el Dios de Israel. Vinieron, pues, a Jerusalén, para ofrecer sacrificios a Yahvé, el Dios de sus padres,
17 So they strengthened the kingdome of Iudah, and made Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon mightie, three yeere long: for three yeere they walked in in the way of Dauid and Salomon.
y así fortalecieron el reino de Judá y consolidaron (el reino) de Roboam, hijo de Salomón, por tres años: pues tres años siguieron el camino de David y de Salomón.
18 And Rehoboam tooke him Mahalath ye daughter of Ierimoth the sonne of Dauid to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the sonne of Ishai,
Roboam tomó por mujer a Mahalat, hija de Jerimot, hijo de David y de Abihail, hija de Eliab, hijo de Isaí.
19 Which bare him sonnes Ieush, and Shemariah, and Zaham.
Esta le dio los hijos Jeús, Semarías y Záham.
20 And after her he tooke Maakah ye daughter of Absalom which bare him Abiiah, and Atthai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
Después tomó a Maacá, hija de Absalón, la cual le dio a luz a Abías, Atai, Sisa y Selomit.
21 And Rehoboam loued Maakah ye daughter of Absalom aboue all his wiues and his concubines: for he tooke eighteene wiues, and three score concubines, and begate eyght and twentie sonnes, and three score daughters.
Roboam amaba a Maacá, hija de Absalón, más que a todas sus mujeres y concubinas; pues tuvo diez y ocho mujeres y sesenta concubinas; y engendró veinte y ocho hijos y sesenta hijas.
22 And Rehoboam made Abiiah the sonne of Maakah the chiefe ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him King.
Roboam puso a Abías, hijo de Maacá, por cabeza y príncipe de sus hermanos, porque quería hacerle rey.
23 And he taught him: and dispersed all his sonnes throughout all the countreis of Iudah and Beniamin vnto euery strong citie: and hee gaue them aboundance of vitaile, and desired many wiues.
Para este fin repartió hábilmente a todos sus (demás) hijos por toda la tierra de Judá y de Benjamín, en todas las ciudades fortificadas, dándoles alimentos en abundancia y procurándoles muchas mujeres.
