2 Chronicles 11
1 And when Rehoboam was come to Ierusalem, he gathered of the house of Iudah and Beniamin nine score thousande chosen men of warre to fight against Israel, and to bring the kingdome againe to Rehoboam.
Ko je Rehabám prišel v Jeruzalem, je iz Judove in Benjaminove hiše zbral sto osemdeset tisoč izbranih mož, ki so bili bojevniki, da se borijo zoper Izrael, da bi kraljestvo lahko ponovno privedli k Rehabámu.
2 But the worde of the Lord came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
Toda beseda od Gospoda je prišla Božjemu možu Šemajáju, rekoč:
3 Speake vnto Rehoboam, the sonne of Salomon King of Iudah, and to all Israel that are in Iudah, and Beniamin, saying,
»Govori Rehabámu, Salomonovemu sinu, Judovemu kralju in vsemu Izraelu v Judu in Benjaminu, rekoč:
4 Thus sayth the Lord, Ye shall not goe vp, nor fight against your brethren: returne euery man to his house: for this thing is done of me. They obeyed therfore the word of the Lord, and returned from going against Ieroboam.
›Tako govori Gospod: ›Ne boste šli gor niti se ne boste borili zoper svoje brate. Vsak mož naj se vrne k svoji hiši, kajti ta stvar je storjena od mene.‹« Ubogali so Gospodove besede in se vrnili pred [tem, da bi] šli zoper Jerobeáma.
5 And Rehoboam dwelt in Ierusalem, and buylt strong cities in Iudah.
Rehabám je prebival v Jeruzalemu in gradil mesta za obrambo v Judu.
6 Hee buylt also Beth-lehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,
Zgradil je celo Bethlehem, Etám, Tekóo,
7 And Beth-zur, and Shoco, and Adullam,
Bet Cur, Sohóm, Adulám,
8 And Gath, and Maresha, and Ziph,
Gat, Marešo, Zif,
9 And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
Adorájim, Lahíš, Azéko,
10 And Zorah, and Aialon, and Hebron, which were in Iudah and Beniamin, strong cities.
Coro, Ajalón in Hebrón, ki so v Judu in v Benjaminu utrjena mesta.
11 And he repaired the strong holdes and put captaines in them, and store of vitaile, and oyle and wine.
Utrdil je oporišča in vanje postavil poveljnike in zaloge živeža, olja in vina.
12 And in all cities he put shieldes and speares, and made them exceeding strong: so Iudah and Beniamin were his.
V vsako posamezno mesto je postavil ščite in sulice ter jih naredil silno močne, [ker je] imel Juda in Benjamin na svoji strani.
13 And the Priests and the Leuites that were in all Israel, resorted vnto him out of all their coastes.
Duhovniki in Lévijevci, ki so bili po vsem Izraelu, so zahajali k njemu iz vseh svojih krajev.
14 For the Leuites left their suburbes and their possession, and came to Iudah and to Ierusalem: for Ieroboam and his sonnes had cast them out from ministring in the Priestes office vnto the Lord.
Kajti Lévijevci so zapustili svoja predmestja in svojo lastnino ter prišli k Judu in Jeruzalemu, kajti Jerobeám in njegovi sinovi so jih zavrgli pred izvrševanjem duhovniške službe Gospodu.
15 And he ordeyned him Priests for the hie places, and for the deuils and for the calues which he had made.
Odredil si je duhovnike za visoke kraje, za hudiče in za teleti, ki ju je naredil.
16 And after the Leuites there came to Ierusalem of all the tribes of Israel, such as set their heartes to seeke the Lord God of Israel, to offer vnto the Lord God of their fathers.
Za njimi so iz vseh Izraelovih rodov [prišli] tisti, ki so svoja srca naravnali, da iščejo Gospoda Boga. Iz Izraela so prišli v Jeruzalem, da darujejo Gospodu, Bogu svojih očetov.
17 So they strengthened the kingdome of Iudah, and made Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon mightie, three yeere long: for three yeere they walked in in the way of Dauid and Salomon.
Tako so tri leta krepili Judovo kraljestvo in Salomonovega sina Rehabáma naredili močnega, kajti tri leta so hodili po Davidovi in Salomonovi poti.
18 And Rehoboam tooke him Mahalath ye daughter of Ierimoth the sonne of Dauid to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the sonne of Ishai,
Rehabám si je za ženo vzel Mahaláto, hčer Davidovega sina Jerimóta in Abihájilo, hčer Jesejevega sina Eliába,
19 Which bare him sonnes Ieush, and Shemariah, and Zaham.
ki sta mu rodila otroke: Jeúša, Šemarjája in Zaháma.
20 And after her he tooke Maakah ye daughter of Absalom which bare him Abiiah, and Atthai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
Za njo je vzel Absalomovo hčer Maáho, ki mu je rodila Abíja, Atája, Zizá in Šelomíta.
21 And Rehoboam loued Maakah ye daughter of Absalom aboue all his wiues and his concubines: for he tooke eighteene wiues, and three score concubines, and begate eyght and twentie sonnes, and three score daughters.
Rehabám je ljubil Absalomovo hčer Maáho bolj, kot vse svoje žene in svoje priležnice, (kajti vzel je osemnajst žena in šestdeset priležnic ter zaplodil osemindvajset sinov in šestdeset hčerá.)
22 And Rehoboam made Abiiah the sonne of Maakah the chiefe ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him King.
Rehabám je postavil Maáhinega sina Abíja, da bo vladar med svojimi brati, kajti mislil je, da ga postavi za kralja.
23 And he taught him: and dispersed all his sonnes throughout all the countreis of Iudah and Beniamin vnto euery strong citie: and hee gaue them aboundance of vitaile, and desired many wiues.
Modro je ravnal in vse svoje otroke razpršil po vseh Judovih in Benjaminovih deželah, do vsakega utrjenega mesta in dal jim je živeža v obilju. In želel je mnogo žená.
