2 Chronicles 11
1 And when Rehoboam was come to Ierusalem, he gathered of the house of Iudah and Beniamin nine score thousande chosen men of warre to fight against Israel, and to bring the kingdome againe to Rehoboam.
Przyjechawszy tedy Roboam do Jeruzalemu, zebrał dom Judowy i pokolenie Benjaminowe, sto i ośmdziesiąt tysięcy mężów przebranych do boju, aby walczyli z Izraelem, a żeby przywrócone było królestwo do Roboama.
2 But the worde of the Lord came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
I stało się słowo Pańskie do Semejasza, męża Bożego, mówiąc:
3 Speake vnto Rehoboam, the sonne of Salomon King of Iudah, and to all Israel that are in Iudah, and Beniamin, saying,
Powiedz Roboamowi, synowi Salomonowemu, królowi Judzkiemu, i wszystkiemu Izraelowi w Judzie i w pokoleniu Benjaminowem, mówiąc:
4 Thus sayth the Lord, Ye shall not goe vp, nor fight against your brethren: returne euery man to his house: for this thing is done of me. They obeyed therfore the word of the Lord, and returned from going against Ieroboam.
Tak mówi Pan: Nie wychodźcie, ani walczcie z braćmi waszymi, wróćcie się każdy do domu swego; albowiem odemnie stała się ta rzecz. I usłuchali słowa Pańskiego, i wrócili się, a nie ciągnęli przeciw Jeroboamowi.
5 And Rehoboam dwelt in Ierusalem, and buylt strong cities in Iudah.
I mieszkał Roboam w Jeruzalemie, a pobudował miasta obronne w Judzie.
6 Hee buylt also Beth-lehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,
I zbudował Betlehem, i Etam i Tekue;
7 And Beth-zur, and Shoco, and Adullam,
I Betsur, i Soko, i Adullam:
8 And Gath, and Maresha, and Ziph,
I Get, i Maresa, i Zyf:
9 And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
I Adoraim, i Lachis, i Aseka;
10 And Zorah, and Aialon, and Hebron, which were in Iudah and Beniamin, strong cities.
I Sora, i Ajalon, i Hebron, które były w Judzie i w pokoleniu Benjaminowem miasta obronne.
11 And he repaired the strong holdes and put captaines in them, and store of vitaile, and oyle and wine.
A gdy zmocnił one twierdze, postanowił w nich starostów, i wystawił szpichlerze dla zboża, i dla oliwy, i dla wina.
12 And in all cities he put shieldes and speares, and made them exceeding strong: so Iudah and Beniamin were his.
A w każdem mieście złożył tarcze i włócznie, a opatrzył je bardzo mocno: a tak panował nad Judą i Benjaminem.
13 And the Priests and the Leuites that were in all Israel, resorted vnto him out of all their coastes.
Kapłani też i Lewitowie, którzy byli we wszystkim Izraelu, zebrali się do niego ze wszystkich granic swoich.
14 For the Leuites left their suburbes and their possession, and came to Iudah and to Ierusalem: for Ieroboam and his sonnes had cast them out from ministring in the Priestes office vnto the Lord.
Bo opuściwszy Lewitowie przedmieścia swoje, i osiadłości swoje, szli do Judy i do Jeruzalemu; (gdyż był ich wyrzucił Jeroboam i synowie jego, aby nie odprawowali urzędu kapłańskiego Panu.
15 And he ordeyned him Priests for the hie places, and for the deuils and for the calues which he had made.
I postanowił sobie kapłanów po wyżynach, i dyjabłom, i cielcom, których był naczynił.)
16 And after the Leuites there came to Ierusalem of all the tribes of Israel, such as set their heartes to seeke the Lord God of Israel, to offer vnto the Lord God of their fathers.
A za nimi ze wszystkich pokoleń Izraelskich, którzy obrócili serca swe ku szukaniu Pana, Boga Izraelskiego, przyszli do Jeruzalemu, aby ofiarowali Panu, Bogu ojców swoich.
17 So they strengthened the kingdome of Iudah, and made Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon mightie, three yeere long: for three yeere they walked in in the way of Dauid and Salomon.
A tak umocnili królestwo Judzkie, i utwierdzili Roboama, syna Salomonowego, przez trzy lata; albowiem chodzili drogą Dawida i Salomona przez one trzy lata.
18 And Rehoboam tooke him Mahalath ye daughter of Ierimoth the sonne of Dauid to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the sonne of Ishai,
Potem pojął sobie Roboam za żonę Mahalatę córkę Jerymota, syna Dawidowego, i Abihailę, córkę Elijaba, syna Isajego.
19 Which bare him sonnes Ieush, and Shemariah, and Zaham.
Która mu urodziła synów: Jehusa, i Semaryjasza, i Zaama.
20 And after her he tooke Maakah ye daughter of Absalom which bare him Abiiah, and Atthai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
A po niej pojął Maachę, córkę Absalomową, która mu urodziła Abijasza, i Etaja, i Sysę, i Salomitę.
21 And Rehoboam loued Maakah ye daughter of Absalom aboue all his wiues and his concubines: for he tooke eighteene wiues, and three score concubines, and begate eyght and twentie sonnes, and three score daughters.
I miłował Roboam Maachę, córkę Absalomową, nad wszystkie żony swoje, i nad założnice swoje. Albowiem pojął był żon ośmnaście, a założnic sześćdziesiąt, i spłodził dwadzieścia i ośm synów i sześćdziesiąt córek.
22 And Rehoboam made Abiiah the sonne of Maakah the chiefe ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him King.
I postanowił Roboam Abijasza, syna Maachy, za księcia, za hetmana między braćmi jego; albowiem zamyślał go uczynić królem.
23 And he taught him: and dispersed all his sonnes throughout all the countreis of Iudah and Beniamin vnto euery strong citie: and hee gaue them aboundance of vitaile, and desired many wiues.
A roztropnie sobie postępując, rozsadził wszystkich innych synów swych po wszystkich krainach Judzkich i Benjaminowych, po wszystkich miastach obronnych, i opatrzył ich dostatkiem żywności, i nadał im wiele żon.
