1 Timothy 2
1 I Exhort therefore, that first of all supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giuing of thanks be made for all men,
സകലമനുഷ്യർക്കുംവേണ്ടി അപേക്ഷകളും പ്രാർഥനകളും മധ്യസ്ഥതയും സ്തോത്രവും അർപ്പിക്കണമെന്ന് ആദ്യംതന്നെ ഞാൻ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കട്ടെ.
2 For Kings, and for all that are in authoritie, that we may leade a quiet and a peaceable life, in all godlinesse and honestie.
നാം പ്രശാന്തവും സമാധാനപൂർണവും ഭയഭക്തിയുള്ളതും അന്തസ്സുറ്റതുമായ ഒരു ജീവിതം നയിക്കാൻ സാധിക്കേണ്ടതിനു രാജാക്കന്മാർക്കുവേണ്ടിയും ഉന്നത അധികാരികൾക്കുവേണ്ടിയും പ്രാർഥിക്കുക.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Sauiour,
ഇത് ഉത്തമവും നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെസന്നിധിയിൽ സ്വീകാര്യവുമാണ്.
4 Who will that all men shalbe saued, and come vnto the acknowledging of the trueth.
സകലമനുഷ്യരും രക്ഷപ്രാപിക്കണമെന്നും സത്യത്തിന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിൽ എത്തിച്ചേരണമെന്നും അവിടന്ന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.
5 For there is one God, and one Mediatour betweene God and man, which is the man Christ Iesus,
ദൈവം ഏകനാണ്; ദൈവത്തിനും മനുഷ്യർക്കും മധ്യസ്ഥനും ഏകൻ; മനുഷ്യനായ ക്രിസ്തുയേശുമാത്രം.
6 Who gaue himselfe a ransome for all men, to be that testimonie in due time,
അവിടന്ന് എല്ലാവർക്കുംവേണ്ടി വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുവിലയായി സ്വയം അർപ്പിച്ചു; ഇതാണ് ഉചിതമായ സന്ദർഭത്തിൽ മനുഷ്യനു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയ സാക്ഷ്യം.
7 Whereunto I am ordeined a preacher and an Apostle (I speake the trueth in Christ, and lie not) euen a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and veritie.
ഇതിനുവേണ്ടി പ്രഘോഷകനും അപ്പൊസ്തലനുമായി ഞാൻ നിയോഗിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു—ഞാൻ പറയുന്നത് വ്യാജമല്ല; സത്യമാണ്—യെഹൂദേതരർക്ക് വിശ്വാസത്തിലും സത്യത്തിലും ഉപദേഷ്ടാവായിട്ടുതന്നെ.
8 I will therefore that the men pray, euery where lifting vp pure hands without wrath, or douting.
കോപമോ വിവാദമോകൂടാതെ പുരുഷന്മാർ എല്ലായിടത്തും വിശുദ്ധകരങ്ങൾ ഉയർത്തി പ്രാർഥിക്കണം എന്നതാണ് ഞാൻ താത്പര്യപ്പെടുന്നത്.
9 Likewise also the women, that they aray themselues in comely apparell, with shamefastnes and modestie, not with broyded heare, or gold, or pearles, or costly apparell,
സ്ത്രീകൾ, ശാലീനതയോടും വിവേകത്തോടുംകൂടെ മാന്യമായി വസ്ത്രധാരണം ചെയ്യണം.
10 But (as becommeth women that professe the feare of God) with good workes.
ആകർഷകമായ കേശസംവിധാനം, സ്വർണം, രത്നങ്ങൾ, വിലയേറിയ ഉടയാടകൾ എന്നിവകൊണ്ടല്ല, പിന്നെയോ സൽപ്രവൃത്തികളാൽ തങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ അലങ്കരിക്കുന്നതാണ് ഭക്തകളെന്ന് അവകാശപ്പെടുന്ന സ്ത്രീകൾക്ക് അനുയോജ്യം.
11 Let the woman learne in silence with all subiection.
സ്ത്രീ പഠിക്കേണ്ടത് ശാന്തതയോടും സമ്പൂർണ വിധേയത്വത്തോടുംകൂടിയാണ്.
12 I permit not a woman to teache, neither to vsurpe authoritie ouer the man, but to be in silence.
ഞാൻ സ്ത്രീയെ, ശാന്തമായിരിക്കാൻ അല്ലാതെ ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നതിനോ പുരുഷന്റെമേൽ അധികാരം പ്രയോഗിക്കുന്നതിനോ അനുവദിക്കുന്നില്ല;
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eue.
ആദാമാണ് ആദ്യം സൃഷ്ടിക്കപ്പെട്ടത്; പിന്നെ ഹവ്വാ.
14 And Adam was not deceiued, but the woman was deceiued, and was in the transgression.
ആദാം അല്ല വഞ്ചിക്കപ്പെട്ടത്, സ്ത്രീയാണ് വഞ്ചിതയായി, അപരാധിനിയായിത്തീർന്നത്.
15 Notwithstanding, through bearing of children she shalbe saued if they continue in faith, and loue, and holines with modestie.
എന്നാൽ സ്ത്രീകൾ വിശ്വാസത്തിലും സ്നേഹത്തിലും വിശുദ്ധിയിലും ശാലീനതയോടെ തുടരുന്നെങ്കിൽ മാതൃത്വത്തിലൂടെ രക്ഷപ്രാപിക്കും.
