1 Samuel 9
1 There was nowe a man of Beniamin, mightie in power named Kish, the sonne of Abiel, the sonne of Zeror, the sonne of Bechorath, the sonne of Aphiah, the sonne of a man of Iemini.
Agora havia um homem de Benjamin, cujo nome era Kish, filho de Abiel, filho de Zeror, filho de Becorath, filho de Aphiah, filho de um Benjamita, um homem poderoso e valoroso.
2 And he had a sonne called Saul, a goodly yong man and a faire: so that among the children of Israel there was none goodlier then he: from the shoulders vpwarde he was hier then any of the people.
Ele tinha um filho cujo nome era Saul, um jovem impressionante; e não havia entre os filhos de Israel uma pessoa mais bonita do que ele. De seus ombros para cima, ele era mais alto do que qualquer outro povo.
3 And the asses of Kish Sauls father were lost: therefore Kish said to Saul his sonne, Take nowe one of the seruants with thee, and arise, goe, and seeke the asses.
Os burros de Kish, o pai de Saul, estavam perdidos. Kish disse a Saul seu filho: “Agora leve um dos criados com você, e levante-se, vá procurar os burros”.
4 So he passed through mount Ephraim, and went through the lande of Shalishah, but they found them not. Then they went through the land of Shalim, and there they were not: he went also through ye land of Iemini, but they found the not.
Ele passou pela região montanhosa de Efraim, e passou pela terra de Shalishah, mas eles não os encontraram. Então eles passaram pela terra de Shaalim, e não estavam lá. Então ele passou pela terra dos benjamitas, mas eles não os encontraram.
5 When they came to the lande of Zuph, Saul saide vnto his seruant that was with him, Come and let vs returne, lest my father leaue the care of asses, and take thought for vs.
Quando chegaram à terra de Zuph, Saul disse a seu servo que estava com ele: “Venha! Vamos voltar, para que meu pai não deixe de se preocupar com os burros e fique ansioso por nós”.
6 And he said vnto him, Behold nowe, in this citie is a man of God, and he is an honorable man: all that he saith commeth to passe: let vs nowe goe thither, if so be that he can shewe vs what way we may goe.
O servo lhe disse: “Eis que há um homem de Deus nesta cidade, e ele é um homem que é honrado”. Tudo o que ele diz certamente acontece”. Agora vamos lá. Talvez ele possa nos dizer qual o caminho a seguir”.
7 Then saide Saul to his seruant, Well then, let vs goe: but what shall we bring vnto the man? For the bread is spent in our vessels, and there is no present to bring to the man of God: what haue we?
Então Saul disse a seu servo: “Mas eis que, se formos, o que devemos trazer o homem? Pois o pão é gasto em nossos sacos, e não há um presente para levar ao homem de Deus”. O que nós temos”?
8 And the seruant answered Saul againe, and said, Beholde, I haue founde about me the fourth part of a shekell of siluer: that will I giue the man of God, to tell vs our way.
O criado respondeu novamente a Saul e disse: “Eis que tenho na minha mão a quarta parte de um siclo de prata. Darei isso ao homem de Deus, para nos dizer nosso caminho”.
9 (Beforetime in Israel when a man went to seeke an answere of God, thus he spake, Come, and let vs goe to the Seer: for he that is called nowe a Prophet, was in the olde time called a Seer)
(Em tempos anteriores em Israel, quando um homem foi perguntar a Deus, ele disse: “Venha! Vamos até o vidente”; pois aquele que agora é chamado de profeta, antes era chamado de vidente).
10 Then saide Saul to his seruant, Well saide, come, let vs goe: so they went into the citie where the man of God was.
Então Saul disse a seu criado: “Bem dito. Venha! Vamos!”. Então eles foram para a cidade onde estava o homem de Deus.
11 And as they were going vp the hie way to the citie, they found maydes that came out to draw water, and said vnto them, Is there here a Seer?
Quando subiram para a cidade, encontraram jovens donzelas que saíam para tirar água e lhes disseram: “A vidente está aqui?”
12 And they answered them, and said, Yea: loe, he is before you: make haste nowe, for he came this day to the citie: for there is an offering of the people this day in the hie place.
Eles responderam e disseram: “Ele está. Eis que ele está diante de vocês”. Apresse-se agora, pois ele chegou hoje à cidade; pois o povo tem hoje um sacrifício no lugar alto.
13 When ye shall come into the citie, ye shall finde him straightway yet he come vp to the hie place to eate: for the people will not eate vntill he come, because he will blesse the sacrifice: and then eate they that be bidden to the feast: nowe therefore goe vp: for euen now shall ye find him.
Assim que você entrar na cidade, você o encontrará imediatamente antes que ele suba ao alto para comer; pois o povo não comerá até que ele chegue, porque ele abençoa o sacrifício. Depois, aqueles que são convidados comem. Agora, portanto, subam; pois, neste momento, vocês o encontrarão”.
14 Then they went vp into the citie, and when they were come into the middes of the citie, Samuel came out against them, to goe vp to the hie place.
Eles foram até a cidade. Quando entraram na cidade, eis que Samuel saiu em direção a eles para subir até o alto.
15 But the Lord had reueiled to Samuel secretly (a day before Saul came) saying,
Agora Yahweh havia revelado a Samuel um dia antes de Saul chegar, dizendo:
16 To morow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Beniamin: him shalt thou anoint to be gouernour ouer my people Israel, that he may saue my people out of the hands of the Philistims: for I haue looked vpon my people, and their crie is come vnto me.
“Amanhã, por esta hora, eu lhe enviarei um homem da terra de Benjamim, e você o ungirá para ser príncipe sobre meu povo Israel. Ele salvará meu povo da mão dos filisteus; pois eu olhei para o meu povo, porque o seu clamor chegou até mim”.
17 When Samuel therefore sawe Saul, the Lord answered him, See, this is the man whom I spake to thee of, he shall rule my people.
Quando Samuel viu Saul, Javé lhe disse: “Eis o homem de quem eu falei com você! Ele terá autoridade sobre meu povo”.
18 Then went Saul to Samuel in the middes of the gate, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, where the Seers house is.
Então Saul se aproximou de Samuel na porta de entrada e disse: “Por favor, me diga onde fica a casa do vidente”.
19 And Samuel answered Saul, and saide, I am the Seer: goe vp before me vnto the hie place: for ye shall eate with me to day. and to morowe I will let thee goe, and will tell thee all that is in thine heart.
Samuel respondeu a Saul e disse: “Eu sou o vidente”. Suba antes de mim para o alto, pois hoje você vai comer comigo. Pela manhã, eu os deixarei ir e lhes direi tudo o que está em seu coração”.
20 And as for thine asses that were lost three dayes ago, care not for them: for they are founde. and on whom is set all the desire of Israel? is it not vpon thee and on all thy fathers house?
Quanto aos seus burros que se perderam há três dias, não se preocupe com eles, pois eles foram encontrados. Para quem todo Israel deseja? Não é você e toda a casa de seu pai?”.
21 But Saul answered, and said, Am not I the sonne of Iemini of the smallest tribe of Israel? and my familie is the least of all the families of the tribe of Beniamin. Wherefore then speakest thou so to me?
Saul respondeu: “Não sou eu um benjamita, da menor das tribos de Israel? E minha família é a menor de todas as famílias da tribo de Benjamim? Por que então você fala assim comigo?”
22 And Samuel tooke Saul and his seruant, and brought them into the chamber, and made them sit in the chiefest place among them that were bidden: which were about thirtie persons.
Samuel levou Saul e seu criado e os levou para o quarto de hóspedes, e os fez sentar no melhor lugar entre aqueles que foram convidados, que eram cerca de trinta pessoas.
23 And Samuel saide vnto the cooke, Bring foorth the portion which I gaue thee, and whereof I said vnto thee, Keepe it with thee.
Samuel disse ao cozinheiro: “Traga a porção que eu lhe dei, da qual eu lhe disse: 'Ponha-a de lado'”.
24 And the cooke tooke vp the shoulder, and that which was vpon it, and set it before Saul. And Samuel said, Beholde, that which is left, set it before thee and eate: for hitherto hath it bene kept for thee, saying, Also I haue called the people. So Saul did eate with Samuel that day.
O cozinheiro pegou a coxa, e o que estava nela, e a colocou diante de Saul. Samuel disse: “Eis o que foi reservado! Ponha-o diante de si mesmo e coma; porque foi guardado para você pelo tempo designado, pois eu disse: 'Convidei o povo'”. Então Saul comeu com Samuel naquele dia.
25 And when they were come downe from the hie place into the citie, he communed with Saul vpon the top of the house.
Quando desceram do alto para a cidade, ele conversou com Saul no topo da casa.
26 And when they arose early about ye spring of the day, Samuel called Saul to the top of the house, saying, Vp, that I may send thee away. And Saul arose, and they went out, both he, and Samuel.
Eles se levantaram cedo; e sobre o amanhecer, Samuel ligou para Saul no terraço, dizendo: “Levante-se, para que eu possa mandá-lo embora”. Saul se levantou, e ambos foram para fora, ele e Samuel, juntos.
27 And when they were come downe to the ende of the citie, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the seruant goe before vs, (and he went) but stand thou still nowe, that I may shewe thee the worde of God.
Quando estavam descendo no final da cidade, Samuel disse a Saul: “Diga ao criado que vá à nossa frente”. Ele foi adiante, então Samuel disse: “Mas fique quieto primeiro, para que eu possa fazer com que você ouça a mensagem de Deus”.
