< 1 Samuel 9 >
1 There was nowe a man of Beniamin, mightie in power named Kish, the sonne of Abiel, the sonne of Zeror, the sonne of Bechorath, the sonne of Aphiah, the sonne of a man of Iemini.
Benjamin acaeng, Aphiah capa Bekorah, Bekorah capa Zeror, Zeror capa Abiel, Abiel capa Kish loe, thacak Benjamin acaeng ah oh.
2 And he had a sonne called Saul, a goodly yong man and a faire: so that among the children of Israel there was none goodlier then he: from the shoulders vpwarde he was hier then any of the people.
Anih mah Saul, tiah ahmin kaom, capa maeto sak; anih loe takphrah kahoih thendoeng ah oh, anih baktih tungkrang kahoih Israel kaminawk thungah om ai; anih ih palaeng loe minawk boih pongah sang kue.
3 And the asses of Kish Sauls father were lost: therefore Kish said to Saul his sonne, Take nowe one of the seruants with thee, and arise, goe, and seeke the asses.
Saul ampa Kish ih hrang to anghmat ving pongah, Kish mah a capa Saul khaeah, Tamna maeto caeh haih loe, hrang to pakrong hoih, tiah a naa.
4 So he passed through mount Ephraim, and went through the lande of Shalishah, but they found them not. Then they went through the land of Shalim, and there they were not: he went also through ye land of Iemini, but they found the not.
To pongah anih loe Ephraim prae mae nui ih prae to poeng moe, Shalisha taeng khoek to hrang to pakrong; toe hnu hoi ai; to pacoengah Shalim prae doeh poeng hoi let bae, toe hnu hoi ai toengtoeng vop.
5 When they came to the lande of Zuph, Saul saide vnto his seruant that was with him, Come and let vs returne, lest my father leaue the care of asses, and take thought for vs.
Zuph prae to a phak hoi naah loe, Saul mah a tamna khaeah, Angzo ah, amlaem si boeh; to tih ai nahaeloe kam pa mah hrang to poek ai ah, aihnik hae poek khing lat ueloe, mawn khing tih, tiah a naa.
6 And he said vnto him, Behold nowe, in this citie is a man of God, and he is an honorable man: all that he saith commeth to passe: let vs nowe goe thither, if so be that he can shewe vs what way we may goe.
Toe a tamna mah anih khaeah, Khenah, hae vangpui thungah Sithaw kami maeto oh; anih loe paroeai khingya ih kami ah oh; anih mah lokthuih naah a thuih ih lok baktiah oh tangtang; vaihi to ah caeh hoi noek si; anih mah naa bangah maw a caeh hoi nahaeloe hoih tih, tiah na thui thai khoe doeh om tih, tiah a naa.
7 Then saide Saul to his seruant, Well then, let vs goe: but what shall we bring vnto the man? For the bread is spent in our vessels, and there is no present to bring to the man of God: what haue we?
Saul mah a tamna khaeah, To kami khaeah a caeh hoi nahaeloe, to kami to tih tangqum maw a paek hoi han loe? Takaw kae doeh boeng boeh; Sithaw kami paek hanah tangqum tidoeh a tawn hoi ai boeh, timaw a tawnh hoi vop? tiah a naa.
8 And the seruant answered Saul againe, and said, Beholde, I haue founde about me the fourth part of a shekell of siluer: that will I giue the man of God, to tell vs our way.
A tamna mah Saul khaeah; Khenah, phoisa shekel tamat to ka tawnh; a caeh hoi haih loklam thuih hanah, Sithaw kami to ka paek han, tiah a naa.
9 (Beforetime in Israel when a man went to seeke an answere of God, thus he spake, Come, and let vs goe to the Seer: for he that is called nowe a Prophet, was in the olde time called a Seer)
Canghniah loe Israel prae ah kami mah Sithaw lokdueng han koeh naah, Angzo ah, hmalam khet kop kami khaeah caeh si, tiah a thui o; to nathuem ah loe tahmaa to hmalam khenkung, tiah a kawk o.
10 Then saide Saul to his seruant, Well saide, come, let vs goe: so they went into the citie where the man of God was.
Saul mah a tamna khaeah, Hoih, angzo ah, caeh si, tiah a naa. To pongah Sithaw kami ohhaih vangpui ah a caeh hoi.
11 And as they were going vp the hie way to the citie, they found maydes that came out to draw water, and said vnto them, Is there here a Seer?
Vangpui ohhaih mae nuiah a caeh hoi tahang naah, tangla thoemto tuidok hanah vangpui thung hoiah angzoh o, nihcae khaeah, Hae vangpui thungah hmalam khen kop kami oh maw? tiah a dueng hoi.
12 And they answered them, and said, Yea: loe, he is before you: make haste nowe, for he came this day to the citie: for there is an offering of the people this day in the hie place.
Nihcae mah, Ue oh; nang hnik hmaa ah oh; vaihi karangah caeh hoih; kaminawk mah hmuensang ah angbawnhaih sak o pongah, anih loe vaihni vangpui ah angzoh.
13 When ye shall come into the citie, ye shall finde him straightway yet he come vp to the hie place to eate: for the people will not eate vntill he come, because he will blesse the sacrifice: and then eate they that be bidden to the feast: nowe therefore goe vp: for euen now shall ye find him.
Anih angbawnhaih buhcaak hanah hmuensang ah caeh ai naah, vangpui thung na kun hoi pacoengah na hnu hoi roep tih hmang; kaminawk loe angbawnhaih tahamhoihaih paek hanah anih angzo ai karoek to buhcaa o mak ai; tahamhoihaih paek pacoengah ni kaminawk mah buh to caak o; vaihi caeh hoiah, vaihi tue thuemah ni na hnu hoi thai tih, tiah a naa o.
14 Then they went vp into the citie, and when they were come into the middes of the citie, Samuel came out against them, to goe vp to the hie place.
Nihnik loe vangpui ah caeh hoi tahang moe, vangpui thungah akun hoi naah, khenah, Samuel loe hmuensang ah caeh tahang hanah, nihnik ohhaih ahmuen ah angzoh.
15 But the Lord had reueiled to Samuel secretly (a day before Saul came) saying,
Saul angzoh hanah nito angaih vop, to naah hae hmuen hae Angraeng mah Samuel khaeah amtuengsak coek boeh,
16 To morow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Beniamin: him shalt thou anoint to be gouernour ouer my people Israel, that he may saue my people out of the hands of the Philistims: for I haue looked vpon my people, and their crie is come vnto me.
khawnbang vaihi atue ah, Benjamin prae ih kami maeto kang patoeh han; anih to kai ih Israel kaminawk zaehoikung ah situi bawh ah; anih mah kai ih kaminawk to Philistinnawk ban thung hoiah pahlong tih; a hang o haih lok kai khaeah phak boeh pongah, kaimah ih kaminawk to ka khet boeh, tiah a naa.
17 When Samuel therefore sawe Saul, the Lord answered him, See, this is the man whom I spake to thee of, he shall rule my people.
Samuel mah Saul to hnuk naah, Angraeng mah anih khaeah, Nang khaeah kang thuih ih kami mah, kai ih kaminawk to uk tih, tiah a naa.
18 Then went Saul to Samuel in the middes of the gate, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, where the Seers house is.
Saul mah khongkha ah Samuel hnuk naah anih khaeah, Hmalam kawng thui thaih kami ih im naa ah maw oh, nang thui thai tih maw? tiah a naa.
19 And Samuel answered Saul, and saide, I am the Seer: goe vp before me vnto the hie place: for ye shall eate with me to day. and to morowe I will let thee goe, and will tell thee all that is in thine heart.
Samuel mah Saul khaeah, Hmalam kawng thui thaih kami loe kai boeh ni, tiah a naa. Ka hmaa ah hmuensang ah caeh tahang ah, vaihni loe kai hoi nawnto buhcaa si; khawnbang khawnthaw ah kang caehsak han hmang, palung thungah na poek ih hmuennawk to kang thuih boih han.
20 And as for thine asses that were lost three dayes ago, care not for them: for they are founde. and on whom is set all the desire of Israel? is it not vpon thee and on all thy fathers house?
Kalaem tangcae ni thumto naah, anghmaa laa hrang pongah, mawnhaih palung tawn hmah; hrang to hnuk o let boeh. Israel kaminawk mah mi maw koeh o? Nang hoi nam pa imthung takoh boih nuiah na ai maw koehhaih palung a suek o? tiah a naa.
21 But Saul answered, and said, Am not I the sonne of Iemini of the smallest tribe of Israel? and my familie is the least of all the families of the tribe of Beniamin. Wherefore then speakest thou so to me?
Saul mah, Toe kai loe Israel acaeng thungah kathoeng koek, Benjamin acaeng ah ka oh; to pacoeng ah Benjamin acaeng thungah doeh kathoeng koek imthung takoh ah ka oh; tipongah to baktih lok to kai khaeah nang thuih loe? tiah a naa.
22 And Samuel tooke Saul and his seruant, and brought them into the chamber, and made them sit in the chiefest place among them that were bidden: which were about thirtie persons.
To naah Samuel mah Saul hoi a tamna to imthung ah caeh haih moe, a kawk ih kami quithumto thungah, kahoih koek ahmuen ah anghnutsak.
23 And Samuel saide vnto the cooke, Bring foorth the portion which I gaue thee, and whereof I said vnto thee, Keepe it with thee.
Samuel mah buh thong kaminawk khaeah, Tapraek hanah, kang thuih ih, kai mah kang paek ih moi to, hae ah na sin ah, tiah a naa.
24 And the cooke tooke vp the shoulder, and that which was vpon it, and set it before Saul. And Samuel said, Beholde, that which is left, set it before thee and eate: for hitherto hath it bene kept for thee, saying, Also I haue called the people. So Saul did eate with Samuel that day.
To pongah caaknaek thongkung mah, moi palaeng to lak moe, Saul hmaa ah koeng pae; Samuel mah, khenah, Nang han tapraek moe, suek ih moi loe na hmaa ah patoem boeh, caa ah; ka kawk ih kaminawk khaeah ka thuih ih lok baktih toengah, hae loe vaihni ni khoek to nang hanah ni suek, tiah a naa. To na niah Saul hoi Samuel loe buh nawnto caak hoi.
25 And when they were come downe from the hie place into the citie, he communed with Saul vpon the top of the house.
Hmuensang hoi vangpui ah amlaem hoi tathuk naah, Samuel hoi Saul imphu ah lokram hoi.
26 And when they arose early about ye spring of the day, Samuel called Saul to the top of the house, saying, Vp, that I may send thee away. And Saul arose, and they went out, both he, and Samuel.
Nihnik loe khawnbang khawnthaw ah angthawk hoi; khodai naah loe, Samuel mah Saul to imphu ah kawk; Angthawk ah, nam pui hoi kang patoeh han boeh, tiah a naa. Saul loe angthawk moe, Samuel hoi nawnto tasa bangah caeh hoi.
27 And when they were come downe to the ende of the citie, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the seruant goe before vs, (and he went) but stand thou still nowe, that I may shewe thee the worde of God.
Vangpui boenghaih ahmuen phak hoi naah, Samuel mah Saul khaeah, Na tamna to na hmabang ah caehsak ah, tiah a naa. To naah a thuih ih lok baktih toengah a tamna to hmabang ah caehsak, toe nang loe hae ah nawnetta thung om raeh, Sithaw khae ih lok kang thuih han vop, tiah a naa.
