1 Samuel 8
1 When Samuel was nowe become olde, he made his sonnes Iudges ouer Israel.
੧ਜਦ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਵੱਡੀ ਉਮਰ ਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
2 (And the name of his eldest sonne was Ioel, and the name of the second Abiah) euen Iudges in Beer-sheba.
੨ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਯੋਏਲ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਬਿਯਾਹ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਬਏਰਸ਼ਬਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਆਂ - ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਸਨ।
3 And his sonnes walked not in his wayes, but turned aside after lucre, and tooke rewards, and peruerted the iudgement.
੩ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਾ ਚੱਲੇ ਸਗੋਂ ਝੂਠੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਸ਼ਵਤ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੱਖਪਾਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ।
4 Wherefore all the Elders of Israel gathered them together, and came to Samuel vnto Ramah,
੪ਤਦ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਮਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ,
5 And said vnto him, Beholde, thou art olde, and thy sonnes walke not in thy wayes: make vs nowe a King to iudge vs like all nations.
੫ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੋਲੇ, ਵੇਖ, ਤੂੰ ਵੱਡੀ ਉਮਰ ਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੱਲਦੇ। ਸੋ ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਡਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਠਹਿਰਾ ਦੇ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Giue vs a King to iudge vs: and Samuel prayed vnto the Lord.
੬ਪਰ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖੀ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਰਾਜਾ ਠਹਿਰਾ ਦੇ ਜੋ ਸਾਡਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰੇ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਰੀ ਲੱਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
7 And the Lord said vnto Samuel, Heare the voyce of the people in all that they shall say vnto thee: for they haue not cast thee away, but they haue cast me away, that I should not reigne ouer the.
੭ਤਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਵੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਣ ਕੰਨ ਲਗਾ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਿਆਗਿਆ ਸਗੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਨਾ ਕਰਾਂ।
8 As they haue euer done since I brought them out of Egypt euen vnto this day, (and haue forsaken me, and serued other gods) euen so doe they vnto thee.
੮ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆਇਆ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਜ ਤੱਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੇ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੇਵੀ-ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
9 Nowe therefore hearken vnto their voyce: howbeit yet testifie vnto them, and shewe them the maner of ye King that shall reigne ouer them.
੯ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਣ। ਤੂੰ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸ ਦੇ ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵਰਤਾਉ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
10 So Samuel told all the wordes of the Lord vnto the people that asked a King of him.
੧੦ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੱਸੀਆਂ।
11 And he saide, This shall be the maner of the King that shall reigne ouer you: he will take your sonnes, and appoint them to his charets, and to be his horsemen, and some shall runne before his charet.
੧੧ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਉਸ ਰਾਜੇ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਵਰਤਾਉ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਰੱਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਨੌਕਰ ਰੱਖੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰੱਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੱਜਣਗੇ।
12 Also he will make them his captaines ouer thousands, and captaines ouer fifties, and to eare his ground, and to reape his haruest, and to make instruments of warre, and the thinges that serue for his charets.
੧੨ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਬਣਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਖੇਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਢੀ ਕਰਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਲੜਾਈ ਦੇ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਅਤੇ ਰੱਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਨ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਾਵੇਗਾ,
13 He will also take your daughters and make them apoticaries, and cookes, and bakers.
੧੩ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਰਸੋਈ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਾਵੇਗਾ,
14 And he will take your fieldes, and your vineyardes, and your best Oliue trees, and giue them to his seruants.
੧੪ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਪੈਲੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਾਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ਼ਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਜ਼ੈਤੂਨ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਚੰਗੇ-ਚੰਗੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਲੈ ਲਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
15 And he will take the tenth of your seede, and of your vineyards, and giue it to his Eunuches, and to his seruants.
੧੫ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਬੀਜ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਖ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਸਵੰਧ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੁਸਰਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
16 And he will take your men seruants, and your maide seruants, and the chiefe of your yong men, and your asses, and put them to his worke.
੧੬ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਸੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਜੁਆਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਗਧਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਮ ਲਵੇਗਾ
17 He will take the tenth of your sheepe, and ye shall be his seruants.
੧੭ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਬੱਕਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਦਸਵੰਧ ਵੀ ਲਵੇਗਾ ਸੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮ ਬਣੋਗੇ,
18 And ye shall crie out at that day, because of your King, whom ye haue chosen you, and the Lord will not heare you at that day.
੧੮ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਦੁਹਾਈਆਂ ਦੇਵੋਗੇ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੇਗਾ!
19 But the people would not heare the voyce of Samuel, but did say, Nay, but there shall be a King ouer vs.
੧੯ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਾ ਮੰਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਨਹੀਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ।
20 And we also will be like all other nations, and our King shall iudge vs, and goe out before vs, and fight our battels.
੨੦ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੋਈਏ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਸਾਡਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਅੱਗੇ-ਅੱਗੇ ਤੁਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਲੜਾਈ ਕਰੇ।
21 Therefore when Samuel heard all ye wordes of ye people, he rehearsed the in ye eares of ye Lord.
੨੧ਤਦ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ।
22 And the Lord saide to Samuel, Hearken vnto their voyce, and make them a King. And Samuel said vnto the men of Israel, Goe euery man vnto his citie.
੨੨ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਮੰਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਰਾਜਾ ਚੁਣ। ਤਦ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਭ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਓ।
