1 Samuel 7

1 Then the men of Kiriath-iearim came, and tooke vp the Arke of the Lord, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill: and they sanctified Eleazar his sonne, to keepe the Arke of the Lord.

۱ خداوند را آوردند، و آن را به خانه ابیناداب در جبعه داخل کرده، پسرش العازار راتقدیس نمودند تا تابوت خداوند را نگاهبانی کند.

2 (For while the Arke abode in Kiriath-iearim, the time was long, for it was twentie yeeres) and al the house of Israel lamented after ye Lord.

۲ و از روزی که تابوت در قریه یعاریم ساکن شد، وقت طول کشید تا بیست سال گذشت، و بعداز آن خاندان اسرائیل برای پیروی خداوند جمع شدند.

3 Then Samuel spake vnto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye be come againe vnto the Lord with all your heart, put away the strange gods from among you, and Ashtaroth, and direct your hearts vnto the Lord, and serue him only, and he shall deliuer you out of the hand of ye Philistims.

۳ و سموئیل تمامی خاندان اسرائیل را خطاب کرده، گفت: «اگر به تمامی دل به سوی خداوندبازگشت نمایید، و خدایان غیر و عشتاروت را ازمیان خود دور کنید، و دلهای خود را برای خداوند حاضر ساخته، او را تنها عبادت نمایید، پس او، شما را از دست فلسطینیان خواهدرهانید.»

4 Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and serued the Lord onely.

۴ آنگاه بنی‌اسرائیل بعلیم و عشتاروت رادور کرده، خداوند را تنها عبادت نمودند.

5 And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you vnto the Lord.

۵ و سموئیل گفت: «تمامی اسرائیل را درمصفه جمع کنید تا درباره شما نزد خداوند دعانمایم.»

6 And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drewe water and powred it out before the Lord, and fasted the same day, and sayd there, We haue sinned against the Lord. And Samuel iudged the children of Israel in Mizpeh.

۶ و در مصفه جمع شدند و آب کشیده، آن را به حضور خداوند ریختند، و آن روز راروزه داشته، در آنجا گفتند که بر خداوند گناه کرده‌ایم، و سموئیل بنی‌اسرائیل را در مصفه داوری نمود.

7 When the Philistims heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the princes of the Philistims went vp against Israel: and when the children of Israel heard that, they were afraide of the Philistims.

۷ و چون فلسطینیان شنیدند که بنی‌اسرائیل درمصفه جمع شده‌اند، سروران فلسطینیان براسرائیل برآمدند، و بنی‌اسرائیل چون این راشنیدند، از فلسطینیان ترسیدند.

8 And the children of Israel sayd to Samuel, Cease not to crie vnto the Lord our God for vs, that hee may saue vs out of the hand of the Philistims.

۸ و بنی‌اسرائیل به سموئیل گفتند: «از تضرع نمودن برای ما نزدیهوه خدای ما ساکت مباش تا ما را از دست فلسطینیان برهاند.»

9 Then Samuel tooke a sucking lambe, and offered it all together for a burnt offering vnto the Lord, and Samuel cryed vnto the Lord for Israel, and the Lord heard him.

۹ و سموئیل بره شیرخواره گرفته، آن را به جهت قربانی سوختنی تمام برای خداوند گذرانید، و سموئیل درباره اسرائیل نزدخداوند تضرع نموده، خداوند او را اجابت نمود.

10 And as Samuel offered the burnt offering, the Philistims came to fight against Israel: but the Lord thundred with a great thunder that day vpon the Philistims, and scattered them: so they were slaine before Israel.

۱۰ و چون سموئیل قربانی سوختنی رامی گذرانید، فلسطینیان برای مقاتله اسرائیل نزدیک آمدند، و در آن روز خداوند به صدای عظیم بر فلسطینیان رعد کرده، ایشان را منهزم ساخت، و از حضور اسرائیل شکست یافتند.

11 And the men of Israel went from Mizpeh and pursued the Philistims, and smote them vntill they came vnder Beth-car.

۱۱ ومردان اسرائیل از مصفه بیرون آمدند و فلسطینیان را تعاقب نموده، ایشان را تا زیر بیت کار شکست دادند.

12 Then Samuel tooke a stone and pitched it betweene Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name thereof, Eben-ezer, and he sayd, Hitherto hath the Lord holpen vs.

۱۲ و سموئیل سنگی گرفته، آن را میان مصفه وسن برپا داشت و آن را ابن عزر نامیده، گفت: «تابحال خداوند ما را اعانت نموده است.»

13 So the Philistims were brought vnder, and they came no more againe into the coastes of Israel: and the hand of the Lord was against the Philistims all the dayes of Samuel.

۱۳ پس فلسطینیان مغلوب شدند، و دیگر به حدوداسرائیل داخل نشدند، و دست خداوند در تمامی روزهای سموئیل بر فلسطینیان سخت بود.

14 Also the cities which the Philistims had taken from Israel, were restored to Israel, from Ekron euen to Gath: and Israel deliuered the coastes of the same out of the hands of the Philistims: and there was peace betweene Israel and the Amorites.

۱۴ وشهرهایی که فلسطینیان از اسرائیل گرفته بودند، از عقرون تا جت، به اسرائیل پس دادند، و اسرائیل حدود آنها را از دست فلسطینیان رهانیدند، و در میان اسرائیل و اموریان صلح شد.

15 And Samuel iudged Israel all the dayes of his life,

۱۵ و سموئیل در تمام روزهای عمر خود براسرائیل داوری می‌نمود.

16 And went about yeere by yere to Beth-el, and Gilgal, and Mizpeh, and iudged Israel in all those places.

۱۶ و هر سال رفته، به بیت ئیل و جلجال و مصفه گردش می‌کردند، و درتمامی این‌جاها بر اسرائیل داوری می‌نمود.

17 Afterward hee returned to Ramah: for there was his house, and there he iudged Israel: also he built an altar there vnto the Lord.

۱۷ وبه رامه بر می‌گشت زیرا خانه‌اش در آنجا بود و درآنجا بر اسرائیل داوری می‌نمود، و مذبحی درآنجا برای خداوند بنا کرد.
