1 Samuel 7
1 Then the men of Kiriath-iearim came, and tooke vp the Arke of the Lord, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill: and they sanctified Eleazar his sonne, to keepe the Arke of the Lord.
੧ਤਦ ਕਿਰਯਥ-ਯਾਰੀਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਅਬੀਨਾਦਾਬ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜੋ ਟਿੱਲੇ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਦੀ ਦੇਖਭਾਲ ਕਰੇ।
2 (For while the Arke abode in Kiriath-iearim, the time was long, for it was twentie yeeres) and al the house of Israel lamented after ye Lord.
੨ਅਤੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਜਦ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਕਿਰਯਥ-ਯਾਰੀਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਸਮਾਂ ਬੀਤ ਗਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀਹ ਸਾਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਟੱਬਰ ਨੇ ਵਿਰਲਾਪ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਭਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ।
3 Then Samuel spake vnto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye be come againe vnto the Lord with all your heart, put away the strange gods from among you, and Ashtaroth, and direct your hearts vnto the Lord, and serue him only, and he shall deliuer you out of the hand of ye Philistims.
੩ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਟੱਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਜੇ ਕਦੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨ ਨਾਲ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਵੱਲ ਮੁੜੋ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਓਪਰਿਆਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਸ਼ਤਾਰੋਥ ਦੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਸੁੱਟੋ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਵੱਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਧਾਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੋ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
4 Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and serued the Lord onely.
੪ਤਦ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਬਆਲ ਤੇ ਅਸ਼ਤਾਰੋਥ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
5 And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you vnto the Lord.
੫ਫੇਰ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮਿਸਪਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਿਆਂ ਕਰੋ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
6 And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drewe water and powred it out before the Lord, and fasted the same day, and sayd there, We haue sinned against the Lord. And Samuel iudged the children of Israel in Mizpeh.
੬ਸੋ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਿਸਪਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਡੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਵਰਤ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਬੋਲੇ, ਅਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ! ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਮਿਸਪਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕੀਤਾ।
7 When the Philistims heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the princes of the Philistims went vp against Israel: and when the children of Israel heard that, they were afraide of the Philistims.
੭ਜਦ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਮਿਸਪਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੋ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਡਰ ਗਏ।
8 And the children of Israel sayd to Samuel, Cease not to crie vnto the Lord our God for vs, that hee may saue vs out of the hand of the Philistims.
੮ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਚੁੱਪ ਨਾ ਰਹਿ ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਤਰਲਾ ਕਰ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਬਚਾਵੇ।
9 Then Samuel tooke a sucking lambe, and offered it all together for a burnt offering vnto the Lord, and Samuel cryed vnto the Lord for Israel, and the Lord heard him.
੯ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੁੱਧ ਚੁੰਘਦਾ ਮੇਮਣਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋਮ ਦੀ ਬਲੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਤਰਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਸੁਣ ਲਈ।
10 And as Samuel offered the burnt offering, the Philistims came to fight against Israel: but the Lord thundred with a great thunder that day vpon the Philistims, and scattered them: so they were slaine before Israel.
੧੦ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਉਸ ਹੋਮ ਦੀ ਬਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਦ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਲੜਨ ਲਈ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਏ ਤਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਵੱਡੀ ਗੜ੍ਹਕ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਬਰਾਹਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਅੱਗੇ ਹਾਰ ਗਏ।
11 And the men of Israel went from Mizpeh and pursued the Philistims, and smote them vntill they came vnder Beth-car.
੧੧ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਿਸਪਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਕੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਤ ਕਰ ਦੇ ਹੇਠ ਤੱਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਗਏ।
12 Then Samuel tooke a stone and pitched it betweene Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name thereof, Eben-ezer, and he sayd, Hitherto hath the Lord holpen vs.
੧੨ਤਦ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਪੱਥਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਪਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੇਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਬੇਨੇਜ਼ਰ ਧਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਜੋ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
13 So the Philistims were brought vnder, and they came no more againe into the coastes of Israel: and the hand of the Lord was against the Philistims all the dayes of Samuel.
੧੩ਸੋ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਹਾਰ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੇਰ ਕਦੀ ਨਾ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਭਰ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਰਿਹਾ।
14 Also the cities which the Philistims had taken from Israel, were restored to Israel, from Ekron euen to Gath: and Israel deliuered the coastes of the same out of the hands of the Philistims: and there was peace betweene Israel and the Amorites.
੧੪ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਜੋ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਤੋਂ ਖੋਹ ਲਏ ਸਨ ਅਕਰੋਨ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਗਥ ਤੱਕ ਫੇਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਛੁਡਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਅਮੋਰੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਲ ਹੋਇਆ।
15 And Samuel iudged Israel all the dayes of his life,
੧੫ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ।
16 And went about yeere by yere to Beth-el, and Gilgal, and Mizpeh, and iudged Israel in all those places.
੧੬ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਲ ਬੈਤਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਲਗਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਸਪਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੇਰਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ।
17 Afterward hee returned to Ramah: for there was his house, and there he iudged Israel: also he built an altar there vnto the Lord.
੧੭ਫੇਰ ਰਾਮਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੜ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਬਣਾਈ।
