1 Samuel 30
1 Bvt when Dauid and his men were come to Ziklag the thirde day, the Amalekites had inuaded vpon the South, euen vnto Ziklag, and had smitten Ziklag, and burnt it with fire,
Cuando David y sus hombres habían llegado a Siclag al tercer día, los amalecitas habían hecho una incursión en el sur y en Siclag, y habían atacado a Siclag y la habían quemado con fuego,
2 And had taken the women that were therein, prisoners, both small and great, and slewe not a man, but caryed them away, and went their wayes.
y habían llevado cautivas a las mujeres y a todos los que estaban en ella, tanto pequeños como grandes. No mataron a ninguno, sino que se los llevaron y siguieron su camino.
3 So Dauid and his men came to the city, and beholde, it was burnt with fire, and their wiues, and their sonnes, and their daughters were taken prisoners.
Cuando David y sus hombres llegaron a la ciudad, he aquí que ésta había sido incendiada, y sus mujeres, sus hijos y sus hijas habían sido llevados cautivos.
4 Then Dauid and the people that was with him, lift vp their voyces and wept, vntill they could weepe no more.
Entonces David y el pueblo que estaba con él alzaron la voz y lloraron hasta que ya no tuvieron fuerzas para llorar.
5 Dauids two wiues were taken prisoners also, Ahinoam the Izreelite, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.
Las dos esposas de David fueron llevadas cautivas, Ahinoam la jezreelita y Abigail la esposa de Nabal el carmelita.
6 And Dauid was in great sorowe: for the people entended to stone him, because the heartes of all the people were vexed euery man for his sonnes and for his daughters: but Dauid comforted him selfe in the Lord his God.
David estaba muy afligido, pues el pueblo hablaba de apedrearlo, porque las almas de todo el pueblo estaban afligidas, cada una por sus hijos y por sus hijas; pero David se fortaleció en Yahvé, su Dios.
7 And Dauid saide to Abiathar the Priest Ahimelechs sonne, I pray thee, bring me the Ephod. And Abiathar brought the Ephod to Dauid.
David dijo al sacerdote Abiatar, hijo de Ajimelec: “Por favor, tráeme el efod”. Abiatar llevó el efod a David.
8 Then Dauid asked counsell at the Lord, saying, Shall I follow after this companie? shall I ouertake them? And he answered him, Followe: for thou shalt surely ouertake them, and recouer all.
David consultó a Yahvé, diciendo: “Si persigo a esta tropa, ¿la alcanzaré?”. Él le respondió: “Persigue, porque seguramente los alcanzarás, y sin falta lo recuperarás todo”.
9 So Dauid and the sixe hundreth men that were with him, went, and came to the riuer Besor, where a part of them abode:
Así que David se fue, él y los seiscientos hombres que estaban con él, y llegaron al arroyo Besor, donde se quedaron los que quedaron atrás.
10 But Dauid and foure hundreth men followed (for two hundreth abode behinde, being too wearie to goe ouer the riuer Besor)
Pero David siguió, él y cuatrocientos hombres; porque se quedaron atrás doscientos, que estaban tan débiles que no podían pasar el arroyo de Besor.
11 And they found an Egyptian in the fielde, and brought him to Dauid, and gaue him bread and he did eat, and they gaue him water to drinke.
Encontraron a un egipcio en el campo, lo llevaron a David y le dieron pan, y él comió, y le dieron de beber agua.
12 Also they gaue him a fewe figges, and two clusters of raisins: and when he had eaten, his spirite came againe to him: for he had eaten no bread, nor drunke any water in three dayes, and three nightes.
Le dieron un trozo de una torta de higos y dos racimos de pasas. Cuando hubo comido, su espíritu volvió a él, pues no había comido pan ni bebido agua durante tres días y tres noches.
13 And Dauid saide vnto him, To whome belongest thou? and whence art thou? And he saide, I am a yong man of Egypt, and seruant to an Amalekite: and my master left me three dayes agoe, because I fell sicke.
David le preguntó: “¿A quién perteneces? ¿De dónde eres?” Dijo: “Soy un joven egipcio, siervo de un amalecita; y mi amo me dejó, porque hace tres días me enfermé.
14 We roued vpon the South of Chereth, and vpon the coast belonging to Iudah, and vpon the South of Caleb, and we burnt Ziklag with fire.
Hicimos una incursión en el sur de los queretanos, en el que pertenece a Judá y en el sur de Caleb, y quemamos Ziklag con fuego.”
15 And Dauid saide vnto him, Canst thou bring me to this companie? And he said, Sweare vnto me by God, that thou wilt neither kill me, nor deliuer me into the handes of my master, and I will bring thee to this companie.
David le dijo: “¿Me harás bajar a esta tropa?” Dijo: “Júrame por Dios que no me matarás ni me entregarás en manos de mi amo, y te haré bajar a esta tropa”.
16 And when he had brought him thither, beholde, they lay scattered abroade vpon all the earth, eating and drinking, and dauncing, because of all the great pray that they had taken out of the lande of the Philistims, and out of the land of Iudah.
Cuando lo hizo descender, he aquí que estaban esparcidos por toda la tierra, comiendo, bebiendo y bailando, a causa de todo el gran botín que habían sacado de la tierra de los filisteos y de la tierra de Judá.
17 And Dauid smote them from the twilight, euen vnto the euening of the next morowe, so that there escaped not a man of them, saue foure hundreth yong men, which rode vpon camels, and fled.
David los golpeó desde el crepúsculo hasta la tarde del día siguiente. Ningún hombre de ellos escapó de allí, excepto cuatrocientos jóvenes que montaron en camellos y huyeron.
18 And Dauid recouered all that the Amalekites had taken: also Dauid rescued his two wiues.
David recuperó todo lo que los amalecitas habían tomado, y David rescató a sus dos esposas.
19 And they lacked nothing, small or great, sonne or daughter, or of the spoyle of all that they had taken away: Dauid recouered them all.
No les faltó nada, ni pequeño ni grande, ni hijos ni hijas, ni botín, ni nada de lo que habían tomado. David los devolvió a todos.
20 Dauid also tooke all the sheepe, and the oxen, and they draue them before his cattell, and said, This is Dauids pray.
David tomó todos los rebaños y las vacas, que condujeron delante de los otros ganados, y dijo: “Este es el botín de David”.
21 And Dauid came to the two hundreth men that were too wearie for to follow Dauid: whome they had made also to abide at the riuer Besor: and they came to meete Dauid, and to meete the people that were with him: so when Dauid came neere to the people, hee saluted them.
David se acercó a los doscientos hombres, que estaban tan desanimados que no podían seguir a David, a quien también habían hecho quedarse en el arroyo de Besor, y salieron a recibir a David y al pueblo que estaba con él. Cuando David se acercó al pueblo, lo saludó.
22 Then answered all the euill and wicked of the men that went with Dauid, and saide, Because they went not with vs, therefore will wee giue them none of the pray that wee haue recouered, saue to euery man his wife and his children: therefore let them carie them away and depart.
Entonces todos los hombres malvados y despreciables de los que iban con David respondieron y dijeron: “Por no haber ido con nosotros, no les daremos nada del botín que hemos recuperado, salvo a cada uno su mujer y sus hijos, para que los lleve y se vaya.”
23 Then saide Dauid, Yee shall not doe so, my brethren, with that which the Lord hath giuen vs, who hath preserued vs, and deliuered the companie that came against vs, into our handes.
Entonces David dijo: “No hagáis eso, hermanos míos, con lo que nos ha dado Yahvé, que nos ha preservado y ha entregado en nuestra mano a la tropa que venía contra nosotros.
24 For who will obey you in this matter? but as his part is that goeth downe to the battel, so shall his part be, that tarieth by the stuffe: they shall part alike.
¿Quién os escuchará en este asunto? Porque así como su parte es el que baja a la batalla, así será su parte el que se quede con el bagaje. Se repartirán por igual”.
25 So from that day forward hee made it a statute and a lawe in Israel, vntill this day.
Así fue desde aquel día y lo convirtió en estatuto y ordenanza para Israel hasta el día de hoy.
26 When Dauid therefore came to Ziklag, he sent of the pray vnto the Elders of Iudah and to his friends, saying, See there is a blessing for you of the spoyle of the enemies of the Lord.
Cuando David llegó a Siclag, envió parte del botín a los ancianos de Judá, a sus amigos, diciendo: “He aquí un regalo para ustedes del botín de los enemigos de Yahvé.”
27 Hee sent to them of Beth-el, and to them of South Ramoth, and to them of Iattir,
Lo envió a los que estaban en Betel, a los que estaban en Ramot del Sur, a los que estaban en Jattir,
28 And to them of Aroer, and to them of Siphmoth, and to them of Eshtemoa,
a los que estaban en Aroer, a los que estaban en Sifmot, a los que estaban en Estemoa,
29 And to them of Rachal, and to them of the cities of the Ierahmeelites, and to them of the cities of the Kenites,
a los que estaban en Racal a los que estaban en las ciudades de los jeraelitas, a los que estaban en las ciudades de los ceneos,
30 And to them of Hormah, and to them of Chor-ashan, and to them of Athach,
a los que estaban en Horma, a los que estaban en Borashan, a los que estaban en Athach,
31 And to them of Hebron, and to all the places where Dauid and his men had hanted.
a los que estaban en Hebrón, y a todos los lugares donde David mismo y sus hombres solían quedarse.
