1 Samuel 3
1 Nowe the childe Samuel ministred vnto the Lord before Eli: and the word of the Lord was precious in those dayes: for there was no manifest vision.
Sa-mu-ên thơ ấu phục sự Đức Giê-hô-va tại trước mặt Hê-li. Trong lúc đó, lời của Đức Giê-hô-va lấy làm hiếm hoi, và những sự hiện thấy chẳng năng có.
2 And at that time, as Eli lay in his place, his eyes began to waxe dimme that he could not see.
Vả, bấy giờ Hê-li khởi làng mắt, chẳng thấy rõ. Có ngày kia, người đang nằm tại chỗ mình quen nằm,
3 And yet the light of God went out, Samuel slept in the temple of the Lord, where the Arke of God was.
đèn của Đức Chúa Trời chưa tắt, Sa-mu-ên nằm ngủ trong đền thờ của Đức Giê-hô-va, là nơi có cái hòm thánh.
4 Then the Lord called Samuel: and hee said, Here I am.
Bấy giờ, Đức Giê-hô-va gọi Sa-mu-ên; người thưa rằng: Có tôi đây!
5 And he ranne vnto Eli, and said, Here am I, for thou calledst me. But he said, I called thee not: goe againe and sleepe. And he went and slept.
Đoạn, người chạy đến gần Hê-li, mà rằng: Có tôi đây, vì ông có kêu tôi. Hê-li đáp: Ta không kêu, hãy ngủ lại đi. Rồi người đi ngủ lại.
6 And the Lord called once againe, Samuel. And Samuel arose, and went to Eli, and said, I am here: for thou diddest call me. And he answered, I called thee not, my sonne: go againe and sleepe.
Đức Giê-hô-va lại gọi nữa rằng: Hỡi Sa-mu-ên! Sa-mu-ên chổi dậy, đi đến cùng Hê-li, mà rằng: có tôi đây, vì ông đã kêu tôi. Người đáp: Hỡi con, ta không kêu, hãy đi ngủ lại đi.
7 Thus did Samuel, before hee knewe the Lord, and before the word of the Lord was reueiled vnto him.
Vả, Sa-mu-ên chưa biết Giê-hô-va; lời Đức Giê-hô-va chưa được bày tỏ ra cho người.
8 And the Lord called Samuel againe the thirde time: and he arose, and went to Eli, and said, I am here: for thou hast called me. Then Eli perceiued that the Lord had called the childe.
Đức Giê-hô-va lại gọi Sa-mu-ên lần thứ ba; người chổi dậy, đi đến gần Hê-li, mà rằng: Có tôi đây, vì ông đã kêu tôi. Bấy giờ, Hê-li hiểu rằng Đức Giê-hô-va gọi đứa trẻ.
9 Therefore Eli saide vnto Samuel, Goe and sleepe: and if he call thee, then say, Speake Lord, for thy seruant heareth. So Samuel went, and slept in his place.
Người nói cùng Sa-mu-ên rằng: Hãy đi ngủ đi, và nếu có ai gọi con, con hãy nói: Hỡi Đức Giê-hô-va, xin hãy phán, kẻ tôi tớ Ngài đang nghe! Vậy, Sa-mu-ên đi nằm tại chỗ mình.
10 And the Lord came, and stoode, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speake, for thy seruant heareth.
Đức Giê-hô-va đến đứng tại đó, gọi như các lần trước: Hỡi Sa-mu-ên! hỡi Sa-mu-ên! Sa-mu-ên thưa: Xin hãy phán, kẻ tôi tớ Ngài đang nghe!
11 Then the Lord said to Samuel, Beholde, I wil doe a thing in Israel, whereof whosoeuer shall heare, his two eares shall tingle.
Đức Giê-hô-va phán cùng Sa-mu-ên rằng: Nầy ta sẽ làm ra trong Y-sơ-ra-ên một sự, phàm ai nghe đến, lỗ tai phải bắt lùng bùng.
12 In that day I will raise vp against Eli all things which I haue spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an ende.
Bấy giờ, ta sẽ làm ứng nghiệm nơi Hê-li các lời hăm dọa ta đã phán về nhà người; ta sẽ khởi sự và làm cho hoàn thành.
13 And I haue tolde him that I will iudge his house for euer, for the iniquitie which hee knoweth, because his sonnes ranne into a slaunder, and he stayed them not.
Ta có báo trước rằng ta sẽ đoán xét nhà người đời đời, vì người đã biết tánh nết quái gở của các con trai mình, mà không cấm.
14 Nowe therefore I haue sworne vnto the house of Eli, that the wickednes of Elis house, shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offring for euer.
Bởi cớ đó, ta thề cùng nhà Hê-li rằng tội phạm của nhà ấy sẽ chẳng hề chuộc được, hoặc bởi hi sinh hay là bởi của lễ chay.
15 Afterward Samuel slept vntil the morning, and opened the doores of the house of the Lord, and Samuel feared to shewe Eli the vision.
Sa-mu-ên nằm ngủ cho đến sáng, đoạn mở các cửa đền của Đức Giê-hô-va. Người sợ không dám thuật sự hiện thấy nầy cho Hê-li.
16 Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel my sonne. And he answered, Here I am.
Nhưng Hê-li gọi Sa-mu-ên mà rằng; Sa-mu-ên, hỡi con! Người thưa: Có tôi đây.
17 Then he said, What is it, that the Lord said vnto thee? I pray thee, hide it not from mee. God doe so to thee, and more also, if thou hide any thing from me, of all that he said vnto thee.
Hê-li nói: Đức Giê-hô-va có phán cùng con lời gì? Xin con đừng giấu chi cùng ta hết. Nếu con giấu ta một thí chi trong mọi điều Đức Giê-hô-va đã phán cùng con, nguyện Đức Chúa Trời phạt con nặng nề.
18 So Samuel tolde him euery whit, and hid nothing from him. Then hee said, It is the Lord: let him do what seemeth him good.
Sa-mu-ên bèn thuật lại hết, chẳng giấu gì với người. Hê-li đáp rằng: Aáy là Đức Giê-hô-va, nguyện Ngài làm điều đẹp ý Ngài!
19 And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him, and let none of his words fall to the ground.
Sa-mu-ên trở nên khôn lớn, Đức Giê-hô-va ở cùng người: Ngài chẳng để một lời nào của người ra hư.
20 And all Israel from Dan to Beer-sheba knew that faithfull Samuel was the Lordes Prophet.
Từ Đan cho đến Bê-e-sê-ba, cả Y-sơ-ra-ên đều biết rằng Sa-mu-ên được lập làm tiên tri của Đức Giê-hô-va.
21 And the Lord appeared againe in Shiloh: for the Lord reueiled himselfe to Samuel in Shiloh by his word.
Đức Giê-hô-va cứ hiện ra tại Si-lô, vì ấy tại Si-lô mà Đức Giê-hô-va hiện ra cùng Sa-mu-ên, khiến cho người biết lời của Ngài.
