1 Samuel 25

1 Then Samuel dyed, and all Israel assembled, and mourned for him, and buried him in his owne house at Ramah. And Dauid arose and went downe to the wildernes of Paran.

௧சாமுவேல் இறந்தான். இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் எல்லோரும் கூடிவந்து, அவனுக்காகத் துக்கங்கொண்டாடி, ராமாவிலிருக்கிற அவனுடைய வீட்டில் அவனை அடக்கம்செய்தார்கள்; தாவீது எழுந்து, பாரான் வனாந்திரத்திற்குப் புறப்பட்டுப் போனான்.

2 Now in Maon was a man, who had his possessio in Carmel, and the man was exceeding mightie and had three thousand sheepe, and a thousand goates: and he was shering his sheepe in Carmel.

௨மாகோனிலே ஒரு மனிதன் இருந்தான்; அவனுடைய தொழில்துறை கர்மேலில் இருந்தது; அந்த மனிதன் பெரும் செல்வந்தனாக இருந்தான்; அவனுக்கு 3,000 ஆடும், 1,000 வெள்ளாடும் இருந்தது; அவன் அப்பொழுது கர்மேலில் தன்னுடைய ஆடுகளை மயிர் கத்தரித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.

3 The name also of the man was Nabal, and the name of his wife Abigail, and she was a woman of singular wisdome, and beautifull, but the man was churlish, and euil conditioned, and was of the familie of Caleb.

௩அந்த மனிதனுக்கு நாபால் என்றும், அவனுடைய மனைவிக்கு அபிகாயில் என்றும் பெயர்; அந்த பெண் மகா புத்திசாலியும் ரூபவதியுமாயிருந்தாள்; அந்தக் கணவனோ முரடனும், தீயவனும், கபடுள்ளவனுமாக இருந்தான்; அவன் காலேபுடைய சந்ததியான்.

4 And Dauid heard in the wildernesse, that Nabal did shere his sheepe.

௪நாபால் தன்னுடைய ஆடுகளை மயிர் கத்தரிக்கிற செய்தியை வனாந்தரத்தில் இருக்கிற தாவீது கேட்டபோது,

5 Therefore Dauid sent tenne yong men, and Dauid said vnto the yong men, Go vp to Carmel, and go to Nabal, and aske him in my name how he doeth.

௫தாவீது பத்து வாலிபர்களை அழைத்து: நீங்கள் கர்மேலுக்குப் போய், நாபாலிடத்தில் சென்று, என்னுடைய பேரைச்சொல்லி, அவன் சுகசெய்தியை விசாரித்து,

6 And thus shall ye say for salutation, Both thou, and thine house, and all that thou hast, be in peace, wealth and prosperitie.

௬அவனை பார்த்து: நீர் வாழ்க, உமக்குச் சமாதானமும், உம்முடைய வீட்டுக்குச் சமாதானமும், உமக்கு உண்டான எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் சமாதானமும் உண்டாவதாக என்று அவனை வாழ்த்தி,

7 Behold, I haue heard, that thou hast sherers: now thy shepherds were with vs, and we did the no hurt, neyther did they misse any thing all the while they were in Carmel.

௭இப்பொழுது ஆடுகளை மயிர் கத்தரிக்கிறவர்கள் உம்மிடத்தில் இருக்கிறார்கள் என்று கேள்விப்பட்டேன்; உம்முடைய மேய்ப்பர் எங்களோடு இருந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் கர்மேலில் இருந்த நாளெல்லாம் நாங்கள் அவர்களை வருத்தப்படுத்தவில்லை; அவர்களுடைய பொருள் ஒன்றும் காணாமல் போனதும் இல்லை.

8 Aske thy seruants and they wil shew thee. Wherefore let these yong men finde fauour in thine eyes: (for we come in a good season) giue, I pray thee, whatsoeuer commeth to thine hand vnto thy seruants, and to thy sonne Dauid.

௮உம்முடைய வேலைக்காரரைக் கேளும்; அவர்கள் உமக்குச் சொல்லுவார்கள்; ஆதலால் இந்த வாலிபர்களுக்கு உம்முடைய கண்களிலே தயை கிடைக்கவேண்டும்; நல்ல நாளில் வந்தோம்; உம்முடைய கையில் உள்ளதை உம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரர்களுக்கும், உம்முடைய மகனான தாவீதுக்கும் கொடுக்கும்படி வேண்டுகிறேன் என்று சொல்லுங்கள் என்றான்.

9 And when Dauids yong men came, they tolde Nabal all those wordes in the name of Dauid, and helde their peace.

௯தாவீதின் வாலிபர்கள் போய், இந்த வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் தாவீதின் பெயரினாலே நாபாலிடத்தில் சொல்லி, பின்பு ஒன்றும் பேசாதிருந்தார்கள்.

10 Then Nabal answered Dauids seruantes, and sayd, Who is Dauid? and who is the sonne of Ishai? there be many seruantes nowe a dayes, that breake away euery man from his master.

௧0நாபால் தாவீதின் ஊழியக்காரருக்குப் பதிலாக: தாவீது என்பவன் யார்? ஈசாயின் குமாரன் யார்? தங்கள் எஜமான்களை விட்டு ஓடிப்போகிற வேலைக்காரர் இந்நாளில் அநேகர் உண்டு.

11 Shall I then take my bread, and my water, and my flesh that I haue killed for my sherers, and giue it vnto men, whom I know not whence they be?

௧௧நான் என்னுடைய அப்பத்தையும், என்னுடைய தண்ணீரையும், என்னுடைய ஆடுகளை மயிர் கத்தரிக்கிறவர்களுக்காக நான் அடித்துச் சமையல்செய்ததையும் எடுத்து, இன்ன இடத்தார் என்று நான் அறியாத மனிதருக்கு கொடுப்பேனோ என்றான்.

12 So Dauids seruants turned their way, and went againe, and came, and tolde him all those things.

௧௨தாவீதின் வாலிபர்கள் தங்கள் வழியே திரும்பி, மறுபடியும் தாவீதினிடத்தில் வந்து, இந்த வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் அவனுக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள்.

13 And Dauid said vnto his men, Girde euery man his sword about him. And they girded euery man his sworde: Dauid also girded his sworde. And about foure hundreth men went vp after Dauid, and two hundreth abode by the cariage.

௧௩அப்பொழுது தாவீது தன்னுடைய மனிதர்களை பார்த்து: நீங்கள் அவரவர் உங்கள் பட்டயத்தைக் கட்டிக்கொள்ளுங்கள் என்றான்; அவரவர் தங்கள் பட்டயத்தைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டார்கள்; தாவீதும் தன்னுடைய பட்டயத்தைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டான்; ஏறக்குறைய 400 பேர் தாவீதுக்குப் பின்சென்று புறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்; 200 பேர் பொருட்கள் அருகில் இருந்து விட்டார்கள்.

14 Nowe one of the seruantes tolde Abigail Nabals wife, saying, Beholde, Dauid sent messengers out of the wildernesse to salute our master, and he rayled on them.

௧௪அப்பொழுது வேலைக்காரர்களில் ஒருவன் நாபாலுடைய மனைவியாகிய அபிகாயிலைப் பார்த்து: இதோ, நம்முடைய எஜமானுடைய சுகசெய்தியை விசாரிக்க தாவீது வனாந்திரத்திலிருந்து தூதுவர்களை அனுப்பினான்; அவர் அவர்கள்மேல் கோபம்கொண்டார்.

15 Notwithstanding the men were very good vnto vs, and we had no displeasure, neither missed we any thing as long as we were conuersant with them, when we were in the fieldes.

௧௫அந்த மனிதர்களோ எங்களுக்கு மிகவும் நல்லவர்களாக இருந்தார்கள்; நாங்கள் வெளிகளில் இருக்கும்போது, அவர்கள் எங்களிடத்தில் நடமாடின நாளெல்லாம் அவர்கள் எங்களை வருத்தப்படுத்தினதுமில்லை; நமது பொருளில் ஒன்றும் காணாமல் போனதுமில்லை.

16 They were as a wall vnto vs both by night and by day, all the while we were with them keeping sheepe.

17 Nowe therefore take heede, and see what thou shalt doe: for euill will surely come vpon our master, and vpon all his familie: for he is so wicked that a man can not speake to him.

௧௭இப்பொழுது நீர் செய்யவேண்டியதைக் கவனித்துப்பாரும்; நம்முடைய எஜமான் மேலும், அவருடைய வீட்டார்கள் எல்லோர்மேலும், நிச்சயமாய் ஒரு தீங்கு வருகிறதாக இருக்கிறது; இவரோ, ஒருவரும் தம்மோடே பேசக்கூடாதபடி, மதிப்பற்ற மகனாக இருக்கிறார் என்றான்.

18 Then Abigail made haste, and tooke two hundreth cakes, and two bottels of wine, and fiue sheepe ready dressed, and fiue measures of parched corne, and an hundreth frailes of raisins, and two hundreth of figs, and laded them on asses.

௧௮அப்பொழுது அபிகாயில் வேகமாக 200 அப்பங்களையும் இரண்டு தோல்பை திராட்சை ரசத்தையும், சமையல்செய்யப்பட்ட ஐந்து ஆடுகளையும், ஐந்துபடி வறுத்த பயிற்றையும், வற்றலாக்கப்பட்ட 100 திராட்சை குலைகளையும், வற்றலான 200 அத்திப்பழ அடைகளையும் எடுத்து, கழுதைகள்மேல் ஏற்றி,

19 Then she said vnto her seruants, Go ye before me: beholde, I will come after you: yet she tolde not her husband Nabal.

௧௯தன்னுடைய வேலைக்காரரைப் பார்த்து: நீங்கள் எனக்கு முன்னே போங்கள்; இதோ, நான் உங்கள் பின்னே வருகிறேன் என்று சொல்லி அனுப்பினாள்; தன்னுடைய கணவனாகிய நாபாலுக்கு அதை அறிவிக்கவில்லை.

20 And as shee rode on her asse, shee came downe by a secret place of the mountaine, and beholde, Dauid and his men came downe against her, and she met them.

௨0அவள் ஒரு கழுதையின்மேல் ஏறி, மலையின் மறைவில் இறங்கிவரும்போது, இதோ, தாவீதும் அவனுடைய மனிதர்களும் அவளுக்கு எதிராக இறங்கி வந்தார்கள்; அவர்களைச் சந்தித்தாள்.

21 And Dauid said, In deede I haue kept all in vaine that this fellow had in the wildernesse, so that nothing was missed of all that pertained vnto him: for he hath requited me euill for good.

௨௧தாவீது தன்னுடைய மக்களைப் பார்த்து: அவனுக்கு வனாந்திரத்தில் இருக்கிறதையெல்லாம் வீணாகவே காப்பாற்றினேன்; அவனுக்கு உண்டானதிலெல்லாம் ஒன்றும் காணாமல்போனதில்லை; என்றாலும் நன்மைக்குப் பதிலாக அவன் எனக்குத் தீமை செய்தான்.

22 So and more also doe God vnto the enemies of Dauid: for surely I will not leaue of all that he hath, by the dawning of the day, any that pisseth against the wall.

௨௨அவனுக்கு உண்டான எல்லாவற்றிலும் சுவரில் நீர்விடும் ஒரு நாய் முதற்கொண்டு பொழுதுவிடியும்வரை நான் உயிரோடே வைத்தால், தேவன் தாவீதின் எதிரிகளுக்கு அதற்குச் சரியாகவும் அதற்கு அதிகமாகவும் செய்யக்கடவர் என்று சொல்லியிருந்தான்.

23 And when Abigail sawe Dauid, she hasted and lighted off her asse, and fell before Dauid on her face, and bowed her selfe to the ground,

௨௩அபிகாயில் தாவீதைப் பார்க்கும்போது, விரைந்து கழுதையை விட்டு இறங்கி, தாவீதுக்கு நேராகத் தரையில் முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து பணிந்து,

24 And fel at his feete, and sayd, Oh, my lord, I haue committed the iniquitie, and I pray thee, let thine handmayde speake to thee, and heare thou the wordes of thine handmayde.

௨௪அவனுடைய பாதத்திலே விழுந்து: என்னுடைய ஆண்டவனே, இந்தப்பழி என்மேல் சுமரட்டும்; உம்முடைய அடியாளுடைய வார்த்தைகளை நீர் கேட்கும்படி உம்முடைய அடியாள் உமது செவி கேட்கப் பேசவேண்டும்.

25 Let not my lorde, I pray thee, regard this wicked man Nabal: for as his name is, so is he: Nabal is his name, and follie is with him: but I thine handmayde sawe not the yong men of my lord whom thou sentest.

௨௫என்னுடைய ஆண்டவனாகிய நீர் நாபால் என்னும் இந்த மதிப்பற்ற மனிதனை ஒரு பொருட்டாக எண்ணவேண்டாம்; அவனுடைய பேர் எப்படியோ அப்படியே அவனும் இருக்கிறான்; அவனுடைய பெயர் நாபால், அவனுக்குப் பயித்தியமும் இருக்கிறது; உம்முடைய அடியாளாகிய நானோ, என்னுடைய ஆண்டவன் அனுப்பின வாலிபர்களைக் காணவில்லை.

26 Now therefore my lord, as the Lord liueth, and as thy soule liueth (the Lord, I say, that hath withholden thee from comming to shedde blood, and that thine hand should not saue thee) so now thine enemies shall be as Nabal, and they that intend to doe my lord euill.

௨௬இப்பொழுதும் என்னுடைய ஆண்டவனே, நீர் இரத்தம் சிந்த வரவும், உம்முடைய கை நீதியைச் சரிக்கட்டவும், யெகோவா உமக்கு இடங்கொடுக்கவில்லை என்பதைக் யெகோவாடைய ஜீவனைக்கொண்டும், உம்முடைய ஜீவனைக்கொண்டும் சொல்லுகிறேன்; இப்போதும் உம்முடைய எதிரிகளும், என்னுடைய ஆண்டவனுக்கு விரோதமாகத் தீங்கு தேடுகிறவர்களும், நாபாலைப்போல ஆகட்டும்.

27 And now, this blessing which thine handmaid hath brought vnto my lorde, let it be giuen vnto the yong men, that follow my lord.

௨௭இப்போதும் உமது அடியாள் என்னுடைய ஆண்டவனுக்குக் கொண்டுவந்த காணிக்கையை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, என்னுடைய ஆண்டவனைப் பின்பற்றுகிற வாலிபர்களுக்கு கொடுப்பீராக.

28 I pray thee, forgiue the trespasse of thine handmaide: for the Lord will make my lorde a sure house, because my lord fighteth the battels of the Lord, and none euill hath bene found in thee in all thy life.

௨௮உமது அடியாளின் மீறுதலை மன்னியும், யெகோவா என்னுடைய ஆண்டவனுக்கு நிலையான வீட்டை நிச்சயமாய்க் கட்டுவார்; என்னுடைய ஆண்டவன் யெகோவாவுடைய யுத்தங்களை நடத்துகிறவராமே; நீர் உயிரோடே இருக்கும் நாளில் ஒரு தீங்கும் உம்மிலே காணப்படாமலிருப்பதாக.

29 Yet a man hath risen vp to persecute thee, and to seeke thy soule, but the soule of my lorde shall be bounde in the bundel of life with the Lord thy God: and the soule of thine enemies shall God cast out, as out of the middle of a sling.

௨௯உம்மைத் துன்பப்படுத்தவும், உம்முடைய பிராணனை வாங்க வழிதேடவும், ஒரு மனிதன் எழுந்தாலும் என்னுடைய ஆண்டவனுடைய ஆத்துமா உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவின் ஆதரவில் இருக்கிற ஜீவனுள்ளோருடைய கட்டிலே கட்டப்பட்டிருக்கும்; உம்முடைய எதிரிகளின் ஆத்துமாக்களோ கவணில் வைத்து எறிந்தாற்போல எறியப்படும்.

30 And when the Lord shall haue done to my lord al the good that he hath promised thee, and shall haue made thee ruler ouer Israel,

௩0யெகோவா உம்மைக்குறித்துச் சொன்ன நன்மையின்படி எல்லாம் இனி என்னுடைய ஆண்டவனுக்குச் செய்து, இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு அதிபதியாக உம்மை நியமிக்கும்போது,

31 Then shall it be no griefe vnto thee, nor offence of minde vnto my lord, that he hath not shed blood causelesse, nor that my lorde hath not preserued him selfe: and when the Lord shall haue dealt well with my lorde, remember thine handmaide.

௩௧நீர் காரணமில்லாமல் இரத்தம் சிந்தாமலும், என்னுடைய ஆண்டவனாகிய நீர் பழிவாங்காமலும் இருந்ததுண்டானால், அப்பொழுது என்னுடைய ஆண்டவனாகிய உமக்குத் துக்கமும் இருக்காது, மனவருத்தமும் இருக்காது; யெகோவா என்னுடைய ஆண்டவனுக்கு நன்மை செய்யும்போது, உம்முடைய அடியாளை நினைப்பீராக என்றாள்.

32 Then Dauid said to Abigail, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, which sent thee this day to meete me.

௩௨அப்பொழுது தாவீது அபிகாயிலை நோக்கி: உன்னை இன்றையதினம் என்னைச் சந்திக்க அனுப்பின இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம்.

33 And blessed be thy counsel, and blessed be thou, which hast kept me this day from comming to shed blood, and that mine hand hath not saued me.

௩௩நீ சொல்லிய யோசனை ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படுவதாக; நான் இரத்தம் சிந்த வராதபடியும், என்னுடைய கையே பழிவாங்காதபடியும், நீ இன்றையதினம் எனக்குத் தடைசெய்ததால், நீயும் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படுவாயாக.

34 For in deede, as the Lord God of Israel liueth, who hath kept me backe from hurting thee, except thou haddest hasted and met mee, surely there had not bene left vnto Nabal by the dawning of the day, any that pisseth against the wall.

௩௪நீ தீவிரமாய் என்னைச் சந்திக்க வராமல் இருந்தாயானால், பொழுது விடியும் வரை நாபாலுக்கு ஒரு நாயும் உயிரோடே வைக்கப்படுவதில்லை என்று, உனக்குத் தீங்குசெய்ய எனக்கு இடங்கொடாதிருக்கிற இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவின் ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு உண்மையாய்ச் சொல்கிறேன் என்று சொல்லி,

35 Then Dauid receiued of her hande that which she had brought him, and said to her, Goe vp in peace to thine house: beholde, I haue heard thy voyce, and haue graunted thy petition.

௩௫அவள் தனக்குக் கொண்டு வந்ததைத் தாவீது அவள் கையிலே வாங்கிக்கொண்டு, அவளைப் பார்த்து: நீ சமாதானத்தோடு உன்னுடைய வீட்டுக்குப் போ; இதோ, நான் உன்னுடைய சொல்லைக்கேட்டு, உன்னுடைய முகத்தைப் பார்த்து, இப்படிச் செய்தேன் என்றான்.

36 So Abigail came to Nabal, and behold, he made a feast in his house, like the feast of a King, and Nabals heart was merie within him, for he was very drunken: wherefore shee tolde him nothing, neither lesse nor more, vntil the morning arose.

௩௬அபிகாயில் நாபாலிடத்தில் வந்தபோது, இதோ, ராஜவிருந்திற்கு இணையான விருந்து அவனுடைய வீட்டிலே நடந்தது; அவனுடைய இருதயம் மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருந்தது; அவன் குடி வெறியில் இருந்தான்; எனவே, பொழுது விடியும்வரை சிறிய, பெரிய காரியங்கள், ஒன்றையும் அவனுக்கு அறிவிக்கவில்லை.

37 Then in the morning when the wine was gone out of Nabal, his wife tolde him those wordes, and his heart died within him, and he was like a stone.

௩௭பொழுது விடிந்து, நாபாலின் குடிவெறி தெளிந்தபின்பு, அவனுடைய மனைவி இந்தக் காரியங்களை அவனுக்கு அறிவித்தாள்; அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய இருதயம் அவனுக்குள்ளே செத்து, அவன் கல்லைப்போலானான்.

38 And about ten dayes after, the Lord smote Nabal, that he dyed.

௩௮யெகோவா நாபாலைத் தண்டித்தார், ஏறக்குறைய பத்து நாட்களுக்குப்பின்பு, அவன் செத்தான்.

39 Now when Dauid heard, that Nabal was dead, he said, Blessed be the Lord that hath iudged the cause of my rebuke of ye hand of Nabal, and hath kept his seruant from euil: for the Lord hath recompensed the wickednesse of Nabal vpon his owne head. Also Dauid sent to commune with Abigail to take her to his wife.

௩௯நாபால் செத்துப்போனான் என்று தாவீது கேள்விப்பட்டபோது: என்னுடைய நிந்தையின் வழக்கை நாபாலின் கையில் விசாரித்து, தம்முடைய அடியானை தீங்கு செய்யாதபடிக்குத் தடுத்த யெகோவாவுக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம்; யெகோவா தாமே நாபாலின் தீங்கை அவன் தலையின்மேல் திரும்பச்செய்தார் என்று சொல்லி, அபிகாயிலை திருமணம் செய்வற்காக அவளோடு பேச, தாவீது ஆட்களை அனுப்பினான்.

40 And whe the seruants of Dauid were come to Abigail to Carmel, they spake vnto her, saying, Dauid sent vs to thee, to take thee to his wife.

௪0தாவீதின் ஊழியக்காரர்கள் கர்மேலில் இருக்கிற அபிகாயிலினிடம் வந்து, தாவீது உன்னை திருமணம் செய்ய விரும்பி, எங்களை உன்னிடத்தில் அனுப்பினார் என்று அவளோடு சொல்லுகிறபோது,

41 And she arose, and bowed her selfe on her face to the earth, and said, Behold, let thine handmayde be a seruant to wash the feete of the seruants of my lord.

௪௧அவள் எழுந்திருந்து தரைவரை முகங்குனிந்து, இதோ, நான் என்னுடைய ஆண்டவனுடைய ஊழியக்காரர்களின் கால்களைக் கழுவும் பணிவிடைக்காரியாகிய அவருடைய அடியாள் என்றாள்.

42 And Abigail hasted, and arose, and rode vpon an asse, and her fiue maides folowed her, and she went after the messengers of Dauid, and was his wife.

௪௨பின்பு அபிகாயில் விரைவாக எழுந்து, ஒரு கழுதையின்மேல் ஏறி, ஐந்து பணிப்பெண்களைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, தாவீதின் தூதுவர்கள் பின்சென்று போய், அவனுக்கு மனைவியானாள்.

43 Dauid also tooke Ahinoam of Izreel, and they were both his wiues.

௪௩யெஸ்ரயேல் ஊராளாகிய அகினோவாமையும் தாவீது திருமணம் செய்தான்; அவர்கள் இருவரும் அவனுக்கு மனைவிகளானார்கள்.

44 Now Saul had giuen Michal his daughter Dauids wife to Phalti the sonne of Laish, which was of Gallim.

௪௪சவுல் தாவீதின் மனைவியாகிய மீகாள் என்னும் தன்னுடைய மகளைக் காலீம் ஊர்க்காரனாகிய லாயிசின் மகனான பல்த்திக்குக் கொடுத்திருந்தான்.
