1 Samuel 23
1 Then they tolde Dauid, saying, Beholde, the Philistims fight against Keilah, and spoyle the barnes.
और उन्होंने दाऊद को ख़बर दी कि “देख, फ़िलिस्ती क़'ईला से लड़ रहे हैं और खलिहानों को लूट रहे हैं।”
2 Therfore Dauid asked counsel of the Lord, saying, Shal I goe and smite these Philistims? And the Lord answered Dauid, Go and smite the Philistims, and saue Keilah.
तब दाऊद ने ख़ुदावन्द से पूछा कि “क्या मैं जाऊँ और उन फ़िलिस्तियों को मारूं?” ख़ुदावन्द ने दाऊद को फ़रमाया, “जा फ़िलिस्तियों को मार और क़'ईला को बचा।”
3 And Dauids men said vnto him, See, we be afrayde here in Iudah, howe much more if we come to Keilah against the hoste of ye Philistims?
और दाऊद के लोगों ने उससे कहा कि “देख, हम तो यहीं यहूदाह में डरते हैं, तब हम क़'ईला को जाकर फ़िलिस्ती लशकरों का सामना करें तो कितना ज़्यादा न डर लगेगा?”
4 Then Dauid asked counsell of the Lord againe. And the Lord answered him, and sayd, Arise, go downe to Keilah: for I wil deliuer the Philistims into thine hand.
तब दाऊद ने ख़ुदावन्द से फिर सवाल किया, ख़ुदावन्द ने जवाब दिया कि “उठ क़'ईला को जा क्यूँकि मैं फ़िलिस्तियों को तेरे क़ब्ज़े में कर दूँगा।”
5 So Dauid and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistims, and brought away their cattel, and smote them with a great slaughter: thus Dauid saued the inhabitants of Keilah.
इसलिए दाऊद और उसके लोग क़'ईला को गए और फ़िलिस्तियों से लड़े और उनकी मवाशी ले आए और उनको बड़ी खूँरेज़ी के साथ क़त्ल किया, यूँ दाऊद ने क़'ईलियों को बचाया।
6 (And when Abiathar the sonne of Ahimelech fled to Dauid to Keilah, he brought an Ephod with him)
जब अख़ीमलिक का बेटा अबीयातर दाऊद के पास क़'ईला को भागा तो उसके हाथ में एक अफ़ूद था जिसे वह साथ ले गया था।
7 And it was tolde Saul that Dauid was come to Keilah, and Saul sayd, God hath deliuered him into mine hand: for he is shut in, seeing he is come into a citie that hath gates and barres.
और साऊल को ख़बर हुई कि दाऊद क़'ईला में आया है इसलिए साऊल कहने लगा कि “ख़ुदा ने उसे मेरे क़ब्ज़े में कर दिया क्यूँकि वह जो ऐसे शहर में घुसा है, जिस में फाटक और अड़बंगे हैं तो क़ैद हो गया है।”
8 Then Saul called all the people together to warre, for to go downe to Keilah, and to besiege Dauid and his men.
और साऊल ने जंग के लिए अपने सारे लश्कर को बुला लिया ताकि क़'ईला में जाकर दाऊद और उसके लोगों को घेर ले।
9 And Dauid hauing knowledge that Saul imagined mischiefe against him, saide to Abiathar the Priest, Bring the Ephod.
और दाऊद को मा'लूम हो गया कि साऊल उसके ख़िलाफ़ बुराई की तदबीरें कर रहा है, इसलिए उसने अबीयातर काहिन से कहा कि “अफ़ूद यहाँ ले आ।”
10 Then sayde Dauid, O Lord God of Israel, thy seruat hath heard, that Saul is about to come to Keilah to destroy the citie for my sake.
और दाऊद ने कहा, ऐ ख़ुदावन्द इस्राईल के ख़ुदा तेरे बन्दे ने यह क़त'ई सुना है कि साऊल क़'ईला को आना चाहता है ताकि मेरी वजह से शहर को बरबाद करदे।
11 Wil the lordes of Keilah deliuer me vp into his hand? and will Saul come downe, as thy seruant hath heard? O Lord God of Israel, I beseech thee, tell thy seruant. And the Lord sayde, He will come downe.
तब क्या क़'ईला के लोग मुझको उसके हवाले कर देंगे? क्या साऊल जैसा तेरे बन्दे ने सुना है आएगा? ऐ ख़ुदावन्द इस्राईल के ख़ुदा मैं तेरी मिन्नत करता हूँ कि तू अपने बन्दे को बता दे “ख़ुदावन्द ने कहा, वह आएगा।”
12 Then said Dauid, Will the lords of Keilah deliuer me vp, and the men that are with me, into the hand of Saul? And the Lord sayde, They will deliuer thee vp.
तब दाऊद ने कहा कि “क्या क़'ईला के लोग मुझे और मेरे लोगों को साऊल के हवाले कर देंगे?” ख़ुदावन्द ने कहा, “वह तुझे हवाले कर देंगे।”
13 Then Dauid and his men, which were about sixe hundreth, arose, and departed out of Keilah, and went whither they coulde. And it was tolde Saul, that Dauid was fled from Keilah, and he left off his iourney.
तब दाऊद और उसके लोग जो क़रीबन छ: सौ थे उठकर क़'ईला से निकल गए और जहाँ कहीं जा सके चल दिए और साऊल को ख़बर मिली कि दाऊद क़'ईला से निकल गया तब वह जाने से बाज़ रहा।
14 And Dauid abode in the wildernesse in holdes, and remayned in a mountaine in the wildernes of Ziph. And Saul sought him euery day, but God deliuered him not into his hand.
और दाऊद ने वीराने के क़िलों' में सुकूनत की और दश्त ऐ ज़ीफ़ के पहाड़ी मुल्क में रहा, और साऊल हर रोज़ उसकी तलाश में रहा, लेकिन ख़ुदावन्द ने उसको उसके क़ब्ज़े में हवाले न किया।
15 And Dauid sawe that Saul was come out for to seeke his life: and Dauid was in the wildernes of Ziph in the wood.
और दाऊद ने देखा कि साऊल उसकी जान लेने को निकला है, उस वक़्त दाऊद दश्त — ए — ज़ीफ़ के बन में था।
16 And Ionathan Sauls sonne arose and went to Dauid into the wood, and comforted him in God,
और साऊल का बेटा यूनतन उठकर दाऊद के पास बन में गया और ख़ुदा में उसका हाथ मज़बूत किया।
17 And said vnto him, Feare not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not finde thee, and thou shalt be King ouer Israel, and I shalbe next vnto thee: and also Saul my father knoweth it.
उसने उससे कहा, “तू मत डर क्यूँकि तू मेरे बाप साऊल के हाथ में नहीं पड़ेगा और तू इस्राईल का बादशाह होगा और में तुझ से दूसरे दर्जे पर हूँगा, यह मेरे बाप साऊल को भी मा'लूम है।”
18 So they twaine made a couenant before ye Lord: and Dauid did remaine in the wood: but Ionathan went to his house.
और उन दोनों ने ख़ुदावन्द के आगे 'अहद ओ पैमान किया और दाऊद बन में ठहरा रहा, और यूनतन अपने घर को गया।
19 Then came vp the Ziphims to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doeth not Dauid hide himselfe by vs in holdes, in the wood in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the right side of Ieshimon?
तब ज़ीफ़ के लोग जिबा' में साऊल के पास जाकर कहने लगे, “क्या दाऊद हमारे बीच कोहे हकीला के बन के क़िलों' में जंगल के जुनूब की तरफ़ छिपा नही है?
20 Nowe therefore, O King, come downe according to all that thine heart can desire, and our part shall be to deliuer him into the Kinges handes.
इसलिए अब ऐ बादशाह तेरे दिल को जो बड़ी आरजू आने की है उसके मुताबिक़ आ और उसको बादशाह के हाथ में हवाले करना हमारा ज़िम्मा रहा।”
21 Then Saul said, Be ye blessed of the Lord: for ye haue had compassion on mee.
तब साऊल ने कहा, “ख़ुदावन्द की तरफ़ से तुम मुबारक हो क्यूँकि तुमने मुझ पर रहम किया।
22 Goe, I pray you, and prepare ye yet better: know and see his place where he haunteth, and who hath seene him there: for it is sayd to me, He is subtile, and craftie.
इसलिए अब ज़रा जाकर सब कुछ और पक्का कर लो और उसकी जगह को देख, कर जान लो कि उसका ठिकाना कहाँ है, और किसने उसे वहाँ देखा है, क्यूँकि मुझ से कहा, गया है कि वह बड़ी चालाकी से काम करता है।
23 See therefore and know all the secret places where he hideth himselfe, and come ye againe to me with the certaintie, and I will goe with you: and if he be in the lande, I will searche him out throughout all the thousands of Iudah.
इसलिए तुम देख भाल कर जहाँ — जहाँ वह छिपा करता है उन ठिकानों का पता लगा कर ज़रूर मेरे पास फिर आओ और मैं तुम्हारे साथ चलूँगा और अगर वह इस मुल्क में कहीं भी हो तो में उसे यहूदाह के हज़ारों हज़ार में से ढूँड निकालूँगा।”
24 Then they arose and went to Ziph before Saul, but Dauid and his men were in the wildernesse of Maon, in the playne on the right hande of Ieshimon.
इसलिए वह उठे और साऊल से पहले ज़ीफ़ को गए लेकिन दाऊद और उसके लोग म'ऊन के वीराने में थे जो जंगल के जुनूब की तरफ़ मैदान में था।
25 Saul also and his men went to seeke him, and they told Dauid: wherefore he came downe vnto a rocke, and abode in the wildernesse of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he folowed after Dauid in the wildernes of Maon.
और साऊल और उसके लोग उसकी तलाश में निकले और दाऊद को ख़बर पहुँची, इसलिए वह चट्टान पर से उतर आया और म'ऊन के वीराने में रहने लगा, और साऊल ने यह सुनकर म'ऊन के वीराने में दाऊद का पीछा किया।
26 And Saul and his men went on the one side of the mountaine, and Dauid and his men on the other side of the mountaine: and Dauid made haste to get from the presence of Saul: for Saul and his men compassed Dauid and his men round about, to take them.
और साऊल पहाड़ की इस तरफ़ और दाऊद और उसके लोग पहाड़ की उस तरफ़ चल रहे थे, और दाऊद साऊल के ख़ौफ़ से निकल जाने की जल्दी कर रहा, था इसलिए कि साऊल और उसके लोगों ने दाऊद को और उसके लोगों को पकड़ने के लिए घेर लिया था।
27 But there came a messenger to Saul, saying, Haste thee, and come: for the Philistims haue inuaded the land.
लेकिन एक क़ासिद ने आकर साऊल से कहा कि “जल्दी चल क्यूँकि फ़िलिस्तियों ने मुल्क पर हमला किया है।”
28 Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing Dauid, and went against the Philistims. Therefore they called that place, Sela-hammahlekoth.
इसलिए साऊल दाऊद का पीछा छोड़ कर फ़िलिस्तियों का मुक़ाबिला करने को गया इसलिए उन्होंने उस जगह का नाम सिला'हम्मख़ल्कोत रख्खा।
29 And Dauid went thence, and dwelt in holdes at En-gedi.
और दाऊद वहाँ से चला गया और 'ऐन जदी के क़िलों' में रहने लगा।
