1 Samuel 23
1 Then they tolde Dauid, saying, Beholde, the Philistims fight against Keilah, and spoyle the barnes.
૧તેઓએ દાઉદને જણાવ્યું કે, “જો, પલિસ્તીઓ કઈલા વિરુદ્ધ લડીને ખળીઓમાં કણસલાંમાંથી અનાજ લૂંટે છે.”
2 Therfore Dauid asked counsel of the Lord, saying, Shal I goe and smite these Philistims? And the Lord answered Dauid, Go and smite the Philistims, and saue Keilah.
૨તેથી દાઉદે સહાય માટે ઈશ્વરને પ્રાર્થના કરીને તેમને પૂછ્યું, “હું જઈને આ પલિસ્તીઓ પર હુમલો કરું?” ઈશ્વરે દાઉદને કહ્યું, “જા અને પલિસ્તીઓને મારીને કઈલાને બચાવ.”
3 And Dauids men said vnto him, See, we be afrayde here in Iudah, howe much more if we come to Keilah against the hoste of ye Philistims?
૩દાઉદના માણસોએ તેને કહ્યું કે, “જો, અમને અહીં યહૂદિયામાં ભય લાગે છે. તો પછી કઈલામાં પલિસ્તીઓનાં સૈન્યોની સામે જતા કેટલો વિશેષ ભય લાગશે?”
4 Then Dauid asked counsell of the Lord againe. And the Lord answered him, and sayd, Arise, go downe to Keilah: for I wil deliuer the Philistims into thine hand.
૪પછી દાઉદે ફરીથી ઈશ્વરને પ્રાર્થના કરી. ઈશ્વરે તેને જવાબ આપ્યો, “ઊઠીને, કઈલા પર આક્રમણ કર. હું તને પલિસ્તીઓની ઉપર વિજય અપાવીશ.”
5 So Dauid and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistims, and brought away their cattel, and smote them with a great slaughter: thus Dauid saued the inhabitants of Keilah.
૫દાઉદ તથા તેના માણસો કઈલામાં ગયા અને પલિસ્તીઓ સાથે યુદ્ધ કર્યું. તેઓએ તેમનાં જાનવરોને દૂર લઈ જઈને હુમલો કર્યો. અને તેઓનો સંહાર કર્યો. એમ દાઉદે કઈલા રહેવાસીઓને બચાવ્યા.
6 (And when Abiathar the sonne of Ahimelech fled to Dauid to Keilah, he brought an Ephod with him)
૬જયારે અહીમેલેખનો દીકરો અબ્યાથાર દાઉદ પાસે કઈલામાં નાસી આવ્યો, ત્યારે તે પોતાના હાથમાં એક એફોદ લેતો આવ્યો હતો.
7 And it was tolde Saul that Dauid was come to Keilah, and Saul sayd, God hath deliuered him into mine hand: for he is shut in, seeing he is come into a citie that hath gates and barres.
૭શાઉલને સમાચાર મળ્યા કે દાઉદ કઈલામાં છે. ત્યારે તેણે કહ્યું, “હવે ઈશ્વરે તેને મારા હાથમાં સોંપી દીધો છે. કેમ કે તે અંદરથી બંધ હોય દરવાજાવાળા નગરમાં પ્રવેશ્યો છે. તે સપડાઈ ગયો છે.”
8 Then Saul called all the people together to warre, for to go downe to Keilah, and to besiege Dauid and his men.
૮કઈલા ઉપર ચઢાઈ કરીને દાઉદ તથા તેના માણસોને ઘેરી લેવા સારુ શાઉલે સર્વ લોકોને યુદ્ધમાં બોલાવ્યા.
9 And Dauid hauing knowledge that Saul imagined mischiefe against him, saide to Abiathar the Priest, Bring the Ephod.
૯દાઉદ જાણતો હતો કે શાઉલ તેની વિરુદ્ધ ઉપદ્રવ કરવાની યુક્તિઓ રચે છે. તેણે અબ્યાથાર યાજકને કહ્યું, “એફોદ અહીં લાવ.”
10 Then sayde Dauid, O Lord God of Israel, thy seruat hath heard, that Saul is about to come to Keilah to destroy the citie for my sake.
૧૦પછી દાઉદે કહ્યું, “પ્રભુ, ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વર, તમારા સેવકે નક્કી સાંભળ્યું છે કે મારે લીધે નગરનો નાશ કરવાને શાઉલ કઈલા પર ચઢાઈ કરવાની તક શોધે છે.
11 Wil the lordes of Keilah deliuer me vp into his hand? and will Saul come downe, as thy seruant hath heard? O Lord God of Israel, I beseech thee, tell thy seruant. And the Lord sayde, He will come downe.
૧૧કઈલાના માણસો શું મને તેના હાથમાં સોંપી દેશે? તમારા સેવકના સાંભળ્યાં મુજબ શું શાઉલ અહીં આવશે? પ્રભુ, ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વર, હું તમને આજીજી કરું છું, કૃપા કરી તમારા સેવકને જણાવો.” ઈશ્વરે કહ્યું, “તે ચઢાઈ કરશે.”
12 Then said Dauid, Will the lords of Keilah deliuer me vp, and the men that are with me, into the hand of Saul? And the Lord sayde, They will deliuer thee vp.
૧૨ત્યાર પછી દાઉદે કહ્યું, “શું કઈલાના માણસો મને તથા મારા માણસોને શાઉલના હાથમાં સોંપી દેશે?” ઈશ્વરે કહ્યું, “તેઓ તને સોંપી દેશે.”
13 Then Dauid and his men, which were about sixe hundreth, arose, and departed out of Keilah, and went whither they coulde. And it was tolde Saul, that Dauid was fled from Keilah, and he left off his iourney.
૧૩ત્યારે દાઉદ તથા તેના માણસો, જે આશરે છસો હતા, તેઓ ઊઠીને કઈલામાંથી રવાના થયા અને જવાય ત્યાં જતા રહ્યા. શાઉલને સમાચાર મળ્યા કે દાઉદ કઈલામાંથી નાસી ગયો છે તેથી શાઉલે ત્યાં જવાનું બંધ રાખ્યું.
14 And Dauid abode in the wildernesse in holdes, and remayned in a mountaine in the wildernes of Ziph. And Saul sought him euery day, but God deliuered him not into his hand.
૧૪દાઉદ અરણ્યમાં મજબૂત મિલોઓમાં અને ઝીફના અરણ્યમાં પહાડી પ્રદેશમાં રહ્યો. શાઉલ તેને દરરોજ શોધતો હતો, પણ ઈશ્વરે તેને તેના હાથમાં લાગવા દીધો નહિ.
15 And Dauid sawe that Saul was come out for to seeke his life: and Dauid was in the wildernes of Ziph in the wood.
૧૫દાઉદે જોયું કે શાઉલ મારો જીવ લેવા સારુ બહાર આવ્યો છે; દાઉદ ઝીફના અરણ્યમાં આવેલા હોરેશમાં હતો.
16 And Ionathan Sauls sonne arose and went to Dauid into the wood, and comforted him in God,
૧૬ત્યાર પછી શાઉલનો દીકરો યોનાથાન ઊઠીને હોરેશમાં દાઉદ પાસે ગયો અને તેના હાથ ઈશ્વરમાં મજબૂત કર્યા.
17 And said vnto him, Feare not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not finde thee, and thou shalt be King ouer Israel, and I shalbe next vnto thee: and also Saul my father knoweth it.
૧૭યોનાથાને તેને કહ્યું, “બીશ નહિ. કેમ કે મારા પિતા શાઉલનો હાથ તને પકડી પાડી શકશે નહિ. તું ઇઝરાયલ પર રાજા થશે અને હું તારાથી બીજે દરજ્જે હોઈશ. મારા પિતા શાઉલ પણ આ જાણે છે.”
18 So they twaine made a couenant before ye Lord: and Dauid did remaine in the wood: but Ionathan went to his house.
૧૮પછી તેઓ બન્નેએ ઈશ્વરની આગળ કરાર કર્યો. અને દાઉદ હોરેશમાં રહ્યો અને યોનાથાન પોતાને ઘરે ગયો.
19 Then came vp the Ziphims to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doeth not Dauid hide himselfe by vs in holdes, in the wood in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the right side of Ieshimon?
૧૯પછી ઝીફીઓએ ગિબયામાં શાઉલ પાસે આવીને કહ્યું, “શું દાઉદ હોરેશના કિલ્લાઓમાં અમારી મધ્યે સંતાઈ રહ્યો નથી? એ કિલ્લા હખીલા પર્વત પર, એટલે દક્ષિણના અરણ્ય તરફ આવેલા છે.
20 Nowe therefore, O King, come downe according to all that thine heart can desire, and our part shall be to deliuer him into the Kinges handes.
૨૦માટે હવે, હે રાજા, ત્યાં આવવા માટેની તમારા હૃદયની સઘળી ઇચ્છા પ્રમાણે કરો. અમે તમને તમારા હાથમાં સોંપી દઈશું.”
21 Then Saul said, Be ye blessed of the Lord: for ye haue had compassion on mee.
૨૧શાઉલે કહ્યું, “ઈશ્વરથી તમે આશીર્વાદિત છો. કેમ કે તમે મારા પર દયા કરી છે.
22 Goe, I pray you, and prepare ye yet better: know and see his place where he haunteth, and who hath seene him there: for it is sayd to me, He is subtile, and craftie.
૨૨જાઓ, તે વિષે હજી વધારે નક્કી કરીને જાણો અને શોધો કે તેની સંતાવાની જગ્યા ક્યાં છે અને ત્યાં તેને કોણે જોયો છે. કેમ કે મને ખબર મળી છે કે તે ઘણો ચાલાક છે.
23 See therefore and know all the secret places where he hideth himselfe, and come ye againe to me with the certaintie, and I will goe with you: and if he be in the lande, I will searche him out throughout all the thousands of Iudah.
૨૩માટે જુઓ, તેની સંતાઈ રહેવાની સર્વ જગ્યાઓ જાણી લઈને, સાચી માહિતી લઈને મારી પાસે આવજો, એટલે હું તમારી સાથે આવીશ, જો તે દેશમાં હશે, તો હું તેને યહૂદિયાના હજારોમાંથી માણસો શોધી કાઢીશ.”
24 Then they arose and went to Ziph before Saul, but Dauid and his men were in the wildernesse of Maon, in the playne on the right hande of Ieshimon.
૨૪પછી તેઓ ઊઠીને શાઉલની અગાઉ ઝીફમાં ગયા. દાઉદ અને તેના માણસો માઓન રાનમાં, અરણ્યની દક્ષિણે અરાબામાં હતા.
25 Saul also and his men went to seeke him, and they told Dauid: wherefore he came downe vnto a rocke, and abode in the wildernesse of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he folowed after Dauid in the wildernes of Maon.
૨૫શાઉલ તથા તેના માણસો તેને શોધવા ગયા. અને દાઉદને તેની ખબર મળી, ત્યારે તે ઊતરીને ખડકાળ પર્વત પાસે આવીને માઓનના અરણ્યમાં રહ્યો. જયારે શાઉલે તે સાંભળ્યું, ત્યારે તે માઓનના અરણ્યમાં દાઉદની પાછળ પડ્યો.
26 And Saul and his men went on the one side of the mountaine, and Dauid and his men on the other side of the mountaine: and Dauid made haste to get from the presence of Saul: for Saul and his men compassed Dauid and his men round about, to take them.
૨૬શાઉલ પર્વતની એક બાજુએ ગયો અને દાઉદ તથા તેના માણસો પર્વતની પેલી બાજુએ ગયા. દાઉદે શાઉલને લીધે ત્યાં છટકી જવા માટે ઉતાવળ કરી. કેમ કે શાઉલ તથા તેના માણસો દાઉદ તથા તેના માણસોને પકડવા માટે તેમને ઘેરી લીધા હતા.
27 But there came a messenger to Saul, saying, Haste thee, and come: for the Philistims haue inuaded the land.
૨૭એક સંદેશાવાહકે પાસે આવીને શાઉલને કહ્યું, “જલ્દી આવ કેમ કે પલિસ્તીઓએ દેશમાં લૂંટફાટ ચલાવી છે.”
28 Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing Dauid, and went against the Philistims. Therefore they called that place, Sela-hammahlekoth.
૨૮પછી શાઉલ દાઉદનો પીછો કરવાને બદલે પાછો વળીને પલિસ્તીઓની સામે ગયો. એ માટે તે જગ્યાનું નામ તેઓએ સેલા-હામ્માહલકોથ પાડયું.
29 And Dauid went thence, and dwelt in holdes at En-gedi.
૨૯દાઉદ ત્યાંથી નીકળીને એન-ગેદીના કિલ્લાઓમાં જઈને રહ્યો.
