1 Samuel 21
1 Then came Dauid to Nob, to Ahimelech the Priest, and Ahimelech was astonied at the meeting of Dauid, and saide vnto him, Why art thou alone, and no man with thee?
Und David kam nach Nob, zu Ahimelech, dem Priester. Und Ahimelech kam David ängstlich entgegen und sprach zu ihm: Warum bist du allein, und niemand ist bei dir?
2 And Dauid saide to Ahimelech the Priest, The King hath commanded mee a certaine thing, and hath sayd vnto me, Let no man know whereabout I sende thee, and what I haue commanded thee: and I haue appointed my seruants to such and such places.
Und David sprach zu dem Priester Ahimelech: Der König hat mir eine Sache geboten; und er sprach zu mir: Niemand soll irgendwie um die Sache wissen, in der ich dich sende und die ich dir geboten habe! Und die Knaben habe ich an den und den Ort beschieden.
3 Nowe therefore if thou hast ought vnder thine hande, giue me fiue cakes of bread, or what commeth to hand.
Und nun, was ist unter deiner Hand? Gib fünf Brote in meine Hand, oder was sich vorfindet.
4 And the Priest answered Dauid, and saide, There is no common bread vnder mine hande, but here is halowed bread, if the yong men haue kept themselues, at least from women.
Und der Priester antwortete David und sprach: Es ist kein gemeines Brot unter meiner Hand, sondern nur heiliges Brot ist da; wenn sich nur die Knaben der Weiber enthalten haben!
5 Dauid then answered the Priest, and sayde vnto him, Certainely women haue bene separarate from vs these two or three dayes since I came out: and the vessels of the yong men were holy, though the way were prophane, and how much more then shall euery one be sanctified this day in the vessell?
Und David antwortete dem Priester und sprach zu ihm: Ja, denn Weiber sind uns versagt seit gestern und vorgestern, als ich auszog, und die Gefäße der Knaben sind heilig. Und es ist einigermaßen gemeines Brot, und das um so mehr, als heute neues in den Gefäßen geheiligt wird.
6 So the Priest gaue him halowed bread: for there was no bread there, saue the shewe bread that was taken from before the Lord, to put hote bread there, the day that it was taken away.
Da gab ihm der Priester heiliges Brot; denn es war daselbst kein anderes Brot, als nur das Schaubrot, das vor Jehova weggenommen worden war, um warmes Brot aufzulegen am Tage seiner Wegnahme.
7 (And there was the same day one of the seruants of Saul abiding before the Lord, named Doeg the Edomite, the chiefest of Sauls heardmen)
(Es war aber daselbst an jenem Tage ein Mann von den Knechten Sauls, der sich zurückgezogen vor Jehova aufhielt, sein Name war Doeg, der Edomiter; er war der Aufseher der Hirten Sauls.)
8 And Dauid said vnto Ahimelech, Is there not here vnder thine hand a speare or a sworde? for I haue neither brought my sworde nor mine harnesse with me, because the Kings businesse required haste.
Und David sprach zu Ahimelech: Und ist hier nicht unter deiner Hand ein Speer oder ein Schwert? Denn weder mein Schwert noch meine Waffen habe ich zur Hand genommen, weil die Sache des Königs dringend war.
9 And the Priest said, The sword of Goliath the Philistim, whom thou slewest in the valley of Elah, behold, it is wrapt in a cloth behinde the Ephod: if thou wilt take that to thee, take it: for there is none other saue that here: And Dauid sayd, There is none to that, giue it me.
Und der Priester sprach: Das Schwert Goliaths, des Philisters, den du im Terebinthental erschlagen hast, siehe, es ist in ein Oberkleid gewickelt hinter dem Ephod; wenn du es dir nehmen willst, so nimm es, denn es ist kein anderes hier außer diesem. Und David sprach: Seinesgleichen gibt es nicht; gib es mir!
10 And Dauid arose and fled the same day from the presence of Saul, and went to Achish the King of Gath.
Und David machte sich auf und floh an selbigem Tage vor Saul, und er kam zu Achis, dem König von Gath.
11 And the seruants of Achish said vnto him, Is not this Dauid the King of the land? did they not sing vnto him in daunces, saying, Saul hath slayne his thousand, and Dauid his ten thousande?
Und die Knechte Achis' sprachen zu ihm: Ist das nicht David, der König des Landes? Haben sie nicht von diesem in den Reigen gesungen und gesprochen: “Saul hat seine Tausende erschlagen, und David seine Zehntausende”?
12 And Dauid considered these wordes, and was sore afraide of Achish the King of Gath.
Und David nahm sich diese Worte zu Herzen und fürchtete sich sehr vor Achis, dem König von Gath.
13 And hee changed his behauiour before them, and fayned him selfe mad in their handes, and scrabled on the doores of the gate, and let his spettel fall downe vpon his beard.
Und er verstellte seinen Verstand vor ihren Augen und tat unsinnig unter ihren Händen, und er kritzelte an die Flügel des Tores und ließ seinen Speichel auf seinen Bart herabfließen.
14 Then said Achish vnto his seruants, Lo, ye see the man is beside him selfe, wherefore haue ye brought him to me?
Da kam Achis zu seinen Knechten: Siehe, ihr sehet einen wahnsinnigen Mann; warum bringet ihr ihn zu mir?
15 Haue I neede of mad men, that ye haue brought this fellowe to play the mad man in my presence? shall he come into mine house?
Fehlt es mir an Wahnsinnigen, daß ihr diesen hergebracht habt, um sich bei mir wahnsinnig zu gebärden? Sollte der in mein Haus kommen?
