1 Samuel 19
1 Then Saul spake to Ionathan his sonne, and to all his seruantes, that they shoulde kill Dauid: but Ionathan Sauls sonne had a great fauour to Dauid.
Saúl dijo a su hijo Jonatán y a todos sus esclavos que mataran a David, pero Jonatán, hijo de Saúl, amaba mucho a David.
2 And Ionathan told Dauid, saying, Saul my father goeth about to slay thee: nowe therefore, I pray thee, take heede vnto thy selfe vnto the morning, and abide in a secret place, and hide thy selfe.
Jonatán habló a David: Mi padre Saúl procura matarte. Te ruego que tengas cuidado por la mañana. Quédate en un lugar secreto y escóndete.
3 And I will go out, and stand by my father in the fielde where thou art, and will commune with my father of thee, and I will see what he sayth, and will tell thee.
Yo saldré del campo donde tú estés. Me pondré junto a mi padre y le hablaré de ti. Veré qué responde y te lo informaré.
4 And Ionathan spake good of Dauid vnto Saul his father, and said vnto him, Let not the King sinne against his seruat, against Dauid: for he hath not sinned against thee, but his works haue bene to thee very good.
Jonatán habló bien de David a su padre Saúl: No peque el rey contra su esclavo David, pues él no pecó contra ti. Sus obras son muy buenas para ti,
5 For he did put his life in daunger, and slew the Philistim, and the Lord wrought a great saluation for al Israel: thou sawest it, and thou reioycedst: wherefore then wilt thou sinne against innocent blood, and slay Dauid without a cause?
porque él puso su vida en la palma de su mano y mató al filisteo. Y Yavé otorgó una gran victoria a todo Israel. Tú lo viste y te alegraste de ello. ¿Por qué entonces quieres pecar contra sangre inocente al matar a David sin causa?
6 Then Saul hearkened vnto the voyce of Ionathan, and Saul sware, As the Lord liueth, he shall not dye.
Saúl escuchó la voz de Jonatán y juró: ¡Vive Yavé que no morirá!
7 So Ionathan called Dauid, and Ionathan shewed him all those words, and Ionathan brought Dauid to Saul, and hee was in his presence as in times past.
Jonatán llamó a David y le contó todas esas cosas. Él mismo llevó a David ante Saúl, y estuvo delante de él como en tiempos pasados.
8 Againe the warre began, and Dauid went out and fought with the Philistims, and slew them with a great slaughter, and they fled from him.
Después hubo guerras otra vez, y David salió y combatió contra los filisteos. Los derrotó con gran matanza, y huyeron de él.
9 And the euill spirit of the Lord was vpon Saul, as hee sate in his house hauing his speare in his hand, and Dauid played with his hand.
Pero el espíritu malo de parte de Yavé llegó otra vez a Saúl cuando él estaba sentado en su casa con su lanza en la mano, mientras David tañía.
10 And Saul intended to smite Dauid to the wall with the speare: but hee turned aside out of Sauls presence, and he smote the speare against the wall: but Dauid fled, and escaped the same night.
Saúl procuró clavar a David en la pared con la lanza, pero él se apartó de delante de Saúl, y la lanza se clavó en la pared. David huyó aquella noche.
11 Saul also sent messengers vnto Dauids house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal Dauids wife told it him, saying, If thou saue not thy selfe this night, to morowe thou shalt be slayne.
Pero Saúl envió emisarios a la casa de David para que lo vigilaran y lo mataran por la mañana. Mical, la esposa de David, le advirtió y le dijo: Si no salvas tu vida esta noche, mañana estarás muerto.
12 So Michal let Dauid downe through a window: and he went, and fled, and escaped.
Mical descolgó a David por una ventana, y él salió, huyó y escapó.
13 Then Michal tooke an image, and layde it in the bed, and put a pillow stuffed with goates heare vnder the head of it, and couered it with a cloth.
Mical tomó un ídolo doméstico y lo puso en la cama. Colocó una sábana de pelo de cabra en la cabecera y lo cubrió con ropas.
14 And when Saul sent messengers to take Dauid, she sayd, He is sicke.
Cuando Saúl envió emisarios para agarrar a David, ella dijo: Está enfermo.
15 And Saul sent the messengers againe to see Dauid, saying, Bring him to me in the bed, that I may slay him.
Saúl volvió a enviar emisarios para que vieran a David y les dijo: ¡Tráiganmelo en la misma cama para que lo mate!
16 And when the messengers were come in, behold, an image was in the bed, with a pillow of goates heare vnder the head of it.
Pero cuando entraron los emisarios, ¡ahí en la cama estaba el ídolo doméstico con la sábana de pelo de cabra en la cabecera!
17 And Saul said vnto Michal, Why hast thou mocked me so, and sent away mine enemie, that he is escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said vnto me, Let me go, or els I will kill thee.
Y Saúl preguntó a Mical: ¿Por qué me engañaste y dejaste ir a mi enemigo para que se escapara? Mical respondió a Saúl: Porque él me dijo: Déjame escapar. ¿Por qué debo matarte?
18 So Dauid fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him: and he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.
Así pues, David escapó y fue a Samuel en Ramá. Le informó todo cuanto Saúl le hizo. Luego él salió con Samuel y vivieron en Nayot.
19 But one tolde Saul, saying, Beholde, Dauid is at Naioth in Ramah.
Fue dado aviso a Saúl: Ciertamente David está en Nayot de Ramá.
20 And Saul sent messengers to take Dauid: and when they sawe a company of Prophets prophecying, and Samuel standing as appoynted ouer them, the Spirit of God fell vpon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophecied.
Entonces Saúl envió emisarios para que detuvieran a David, los cuales vieron a un grupo de profetas que profetizaban, y a Samuel que estaba entre ellos y los presidía. El Espíritu de ʼElohim llegó sobre los emisarios de Saúl, y ellos también profetizaron.
21 And when it was tolde Saul, he sent other messengers, and they prophecied likewise: againe Saul sent the third messengers, and they prophecied also.
Informaron a Saúl, quien envió otros emisarios. También ellos profetizaron. Saúl volvió a enviar emisarios por tercera vez, y también éstos profetizaron.
22 Then went he himselfe to Ramah, and came to a great well that is in Sechu, and he asked, and sayd, Where are Samuel and Dauid? and one sayd, Behold, they be at Naioth in Ramah.
Así que él mismo fue a Nayot de Ramá. Al llegar a la gran cisterna que está en Secú, preguntó: ¿Dónde están Samuel y David? Uno contestó: Ciertamente están en Nayot de Ramá.
23 And he went thither, euen to Naioth in Ramah, and the Spirit of God came vpon him also, and he went prophecying vntill hee came to Naioth in Ramah.
Fue a Nayot de Ramá. El Espíritu de ʼElohim llegó sobre él, y andaba y profetizaba hasta que llegó a Nayot de Ramá.
24 And he stript off his clothes, and he prophesied also before Samuel, and fell downe naked all that day and all that night: therefore they say, Is Saul also among the Prophets?
Él también se despojó de sus ropas y profetizó de la misma manera en presencia de Samuel. Todo aquel día y aquella noche quedó desnudo en tierra. Por esto se suele decir: ¿También Saúl entre los profetas?
