1 Samuel 16
1 The Lord then saide vnto Samuel, Howe long wilt thou mourne for Saul, seeing I haue cast him away from reigning ouer Israel? fill thine horne with oyle and come, I will sende thee to Ishai the Bethlehemite: for I haue prouided mee a King among his sonnes.
Emesịa Onyenwe anyị sịrị Samuel, “Ruo ole mgbe ka ị ga-anọgide na-eru ụjụ nʼihi Sọl, ebe ọ bụ na m ajụla ya dịka eze ndị Izrel? Ugbu a, gbajuo mmanụ na mpi gị, bilie ije. Ana m eziga gị ka ijekwuru Jesi onye Betlehem, ahọrọla m otu onye ga-abụ eze site nʼetiti ụmụ ya ndị ikom.”
2 And Samuel sayde, Howe can I goe? for if Saul shall heare it, he will kill me. Then the Lord answered, Take an heifer with thee, and say, I am come to doe sacrifice to the Lord.
Ma Samuel zara sị, “Oleekwanụ otu m ga-esi gaa nʼebe ahụ? Ọ bụrụ na Sọl anụ ya, ọ ga-egbu m.” Onyenwe anyị sịrị, “Were nwaagbọghọ ehi, jiri ya nʼaka, sị, ‘Abịara m ịchụrụ Onyenwe anyị aja.’
3 And call Ishai to the sacrifice, and I will shewe thee what thou shalt doe, and thou shalt anoynt vnto me him whom I name vnto thee.
Ị ga-akpọ Jesi ka ọ bịa soro nʼọchụchụ aja ahụ. Mgbe ahụ, aga m egosi gị ihe ị ga-eme. Ị ga-etekwara m ya mmanụ, bụ onye m nke ga-egosi gị.”
4 So Samuel did that the Lord bade him, and came to Beth-lehem, and the Elders of the towne were astonied at his comming, and sayd, Commest thou peaceablie?
Samuel mere ihe Onyenwe anyị kwuru. Mgbe o rutere na Betlehem, ndị okenye obodo ahụ ji ịma jijiji pụta izute ya. Ha jụrụ ya sị “Ọ dịkwa mma? Udo ọ dịkwa?”
5 And he answeared, Yea: I am come to doe sacrifice vnto the Lord: sanctifie your selues, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified Ishai and his sonnes, and called them to the sacrifice.
Ma Samuel zara ha sị “E, udo dị, Abịara m ịchụrụ Onyenwe anyị aja. Doonụ onwe unu nsọ bịa soro m gaa ịchụ aja ahụ.” O dokwara Jesi na ụmụ ya ndị ikom nsọ, gwakwa ha ka ha soro gaa.
6 And when they were come, hee looked on Eliab, and saide, Surely the Lordes Anointed is before him.
Mgbe ha ruru, Samuel hụrụ Eliab kwuo nʼobi ya sị, “Nʼezie, onye nke Onyenwe anyị tere mmanụ na-eguzo nʼihu Onyenwe anyị.”
7 But the Lord said vnto Samuel, Looke not on his countenance, nor on the height of his stature, because I haue refused him: for God seeth not as man seeth: for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord beholdeth the heart.
Ma Onyenwe anyị zara Samuel sị ya, “Ejila ihu mmadụ maọbụ ito ogologo ya ekpebi, nʼihi na onye a abụghị ya. Onyenwe anyị adịghị ahụ ihe dịka mmadụ si ahụ. Mmadụ na-ele anya nʼelu ahụ, ma Onyenwe anyị na-ele anya nʼobi.”
8 Then Ishai called Abinadab, and made him come before Samuel. And he saide, Neither hath the Lord chosen this.
Jesi kpọrọ Abinadab ka ọ gafee nʼihu Samuel. Ma Samuel sịrị, “Onyenwe anyị ahọrọghị onye a.”
9 Then Ishai made Shammah come. And he said, Neither yet hath the Lord chosen him.
Jesi mere ka Shama bịa gafee, ma Samuel sịrị, “Mba Onyenwe anyị ahọrọghị onye a.”
10 Againe Ishai made his seue sonnes to come before Samuel: and Samuel saide vnto Ishai, The Lord hath chosen none of these.
Ụmụ ndị ikom Jesi asaa si otu a gafee nʼihu Samuel, ma Samuel sịrị ya, “Onyenwe anyị ahọrọghị ndị a.”
11 Finally, Samuel said vnto Ishai, Are there no more children but these? And hee sayde, There remaineth yet a litle one behinde, that keepeth the sheepe. Then Samuel saide vnto Ishai, Sende and set him: for we will not sit downe, till he be come hither.
Ọ jụrụ Jesi sị, “Ndị a ọ gwụchaala ụmụ ndị ikom ị mụtara?” Jesi zara sị “O fọdụrụ ọdụdụ nwa m, ma ọ nọ nʼọhịa na-azụ atụrụ.” Samuel sịrị, “Ziga ozi kpọlata ya, anyị agaghị anọdụ ala tutu ruo mgbe ọ bịara.”
12 And he sent, and brought him in: and he was ruddie, and of a good countenance, and comely visage. And the Lord saide, Arise, and anoynt him: for this is he.
Ọ zigara ozi ka akpọọ ya, mee ka ọ bịa. O nwere ụcha ahụ pụrụ iche, nwee anya mara mma, dịkwa mma ile anya. Mgbe ahụ, Onyenwe anyị gwara Samuel okwu sị ya, “Ọ bụ onye a, bilie tee ya mmanụ.”
13 Then Samuel tooke the horne of oyle, and anoynted him in the middes of his brethren. And the Spirit of the Lord came vpon Dauid, from that day forwarde: then Samuel rose vp, and went to Ramah.
Ya mere, Samuel weere mpi ahụ mmanụ dị tee ya nʼihu ụmụnne ya. Site nʼụbọchị ahụ Mmụọ Onyenwe anyị bịakwasịrị Devid nʼebe ọ dị ukwuu. Emesịa, Samuel laghachiri na Rema.
14 But the Spirite of the Lord departed from Saul, and an euill spirite sent of the Lord vexed him.
Ugbu a, Mmụọ Onyenwe anyị esitela nʼime Sọl pụọ, Onyenwe anyị zitekwara mmụọ ọjọọ nke bịara na-esogbu Sọl.
15 And Sauls seruants said vnto him, Beholde nowe, the euill spirite of God vexeth thee.
Ndị na-ejere Sọl ozi gwara ya okwu sị, “Lee, mmụọ ọjọọ si nʼebe Chineke nọ bịa na-enye gị nsogbu.
16 Let our Lord therefore command thy seruants, that are before thee, to seeke a man that is a cunning plaier vpon the harpe: that when the euil spirit of God commeth vpon thee, hee may play with his hand, and thou maiest be eased.
Biko, ka onyenwe anyị nye ndị ohu ya nọ nʼebe a ike, ka ha gaa chọta onye maara akpọ ụbọ akwara nke ọma. Ọ ga-akpọ ụbọ akwara mgbe ọbụla mmụọ ọjọọ si nʼebe Chineke nọ bịa bịakwasịrị gị, ime ka ahụ dị gị mma.”
17 Saul then saide vnto his seruantes, Prouide me a man, I pray you, that can play well, and bring him to me.
Sọl kwenyere sị ha, “Ọ dị mma, gaanụ chọta ma kpọtara m nwoke na-akpọ ụbọ akwara nke ọma.”
18 Then answered one of his seruauntes, and sayde, Beholde, I haue seene a sonne of Ishai, a Bethlehemite, that can plaie, and is strong, valiant and a man of warre and wise in matters, and a comely person, and the Lord is with him.
Otu onye nʼime ndị na-eje ozi kwuru sị, “Lee, ahụla m otu nʼime ụmụ ndị ikom Jesi, onye Betlehem, onye maara akpọ ụbọ akwara nke ọma. Ọ bụ dike na ọka nʼagha. Ọ bụ onye na-ekwu okwu nke ọma, na nwoke mara mma ile anya. Onyenwe anyị nọnyekwara ya.”
19 Wherefore Saul sent messengers vnto Ishai, and said, Send me Dauid thy sonne which is with the sheepe.
Sọl zipụrụ ndị ozi ka ha jekwuru Jesi sị ya, “Zitere m nwa gị nwoke Devid, onye na-azụrụ gị atụrụ.”
20 And Ishai tooke an asse laden with breade and a flagon of wine and a kidde, and sent them by the hand of Dauid his sonne vnto Saul.
Ya mere Jesi zipụrụ Devid ka o jekwuru Sọl. O mekwara ka Devid duru otu ịnyịnya ibu nke o bukwasịrị achịcha, na otu karama akpụkpọ mmanya, na otu nwa ewu, onyinye a na-enye Sọl.
21 And Dauid came to Saul, and stoode before him: and he loued him verie well, and he was his armour bearer.
Devid bịakwutere Sọl, banye nʼọrụ ijere ya ozi. Sọl hụrụ ya nʼanya nke ukwuu, nʼihi ya, Devid ghọrọ otu nʼime ndị na-ebu ihe agha Sọl.
22 And Saul sent to Ishai, saying, Let Dauid nowe remaine with me: for he hath found fauour in my sight.
Mgbe ahụ, Sọl ziri Jesi ozi sị ya, “Biko, kwere ka Devid bụrụ otu nʼime ndị agha m, nʼihi na ihe ya na-atọ m ụtọ.”
23 And so when the euil spirite of God came vpon Saul, Dauid tooke an harpe and plaied with his hande, and Saul was refreshed, and was eased: for the euill spirit departed from him.
Mgbe ọbụla mmụọ ọjọọ ahụ si nʼebe Chineke nọ bịa malitere inye Sọl nsogbu, Devid na-akpọ ụbọ akwara ya. Ahụ Sọl na-adajụkwa, mmụọ ọjọọ ahụ na-esitekwa nʼebe ọ nọ wezuga onwe ya.
