1 Samuel 10
1 Then Samuel tooke a viole of oyle and powred it vpon his head, and kissed him, and saide, Hath not the Lord anointed thee to be gouernour ouer his inheritance?
Y tomando Samuel una ampolla de aceite, derramóla sobre su cabeza, y besóle, y díjole: ¿No te ha ungido Jehová por capitán sobre su heredad?
2 When thou shalt depart from me this day, thou shalt finde two men by Rahels sepulchre in the border of Beniamin, euen at Zelzah, and they will say vnto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seeke, are founde: and lo, thy father hath left the care of the asses, and soroweth for you, saying, What shall I doe for my sonne?
Hoy luego que te hayas apartado de mí, hallarás dos varones junto al sepulcro de Raquel, en el término de Ben-jamín en Salesa, los cuales te dirán: Las asnas, que habías ido a buscar, son halladas: y tu padre, había ya dejado el negocio de las asnas, y congojábase por vosotros, diciendo: ¿Qué haré de mi hijo?
3 Then shalt thou go forth from thence and shalt come to the plaine of Tabor, and there shall meete thee three men going vp to God to Bethel: one carying three kiddes, and an other carying three loaues of bread, and another carying a bottle of wine:
Y como de allí te fueres más adelante, y llegares a la campaña de Tabor, salirte han al encuentro tres varones, que suben a Dios en Bet-el: llevando el uno tres cabritos, y el otro tres tortas de pan, y el tercero, un cuero de vino.
4 And they will aske thee if all be well, and will giue thee the two loaues of bread, which thou shalt receiue of their handes.
Los cuales, luego que te hayan saludado, te darán dos panes, y tú los tomarás de mano de ellos.
5 After that shalt thou come to the hill of God, where is the garisons of the Philistims: and when thou art come thither to the citie, thou shalt meete a companie of Prophets comming downe from the hie place with a viole, and a tymbrell, and a pipe, and an harpe before them, and they shall prophecie.
De allí vendrás al collado de Dios, donde está la guarnición de los Filisteos, y como entrares allá en la ciudad, encontrarás una compañía de profetas, que descienden del alto, y delante de ellos salterio, y adufe, y flauta, y arpa, y ellos profetizando.
6 Then the Spirit of the Lord will come vpon thee, and thou shalt prophecie with them, and shalt be turned into another man.
Y el Espíritu de Jehová te arrebatará, y profetizarás con ellos; y serás mudado en otro varón.
7 Therefore when these signes shall come vnto to thee, doe as occasion shall serue: for God is with thee.
Y cuando te hubieren venido estas señales hazte lo que te viniere a la mano: porque Dios es contigo.
8 And thou shalt goe downe before me to Gilgal: and I also will come downe vnto thee to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace. Tary for me seuen dayes, till I come to thee and shewe thee what thou shalt doe.
Y descenderás delante de mí en Galgal; y luego yo descenderé a ti a sacrificar holocaustos, y a matar víctimas pacíficas. Tú me esperarás siete días hasta que yo venga a ti, y te enseñe lo que has de hacer.
9 And when he had turned his backe to goe from Samuel, God gaue him another heart: and all those tokens came to passe that same day.
Y aconteció que como él tornó su hombro para partirse de Samuel, Dios le trocó su corazón: y todas estas señales vinieron en aquel día.
10 And when they came thither to the hill, beholde, the companie of Prophets meete him, and the Spirit of God came vpon him, and he prophecied among them.
Y como llegaron allá al collado, he aquí la compañía de los profetas que venía a encontrarse con él, y él Espíritu de Dios le arrebató, y profetizó entre ellos.
11 Therefore all the people that knewe him before, when they saw that he prophecied among the Prophets, saide eche to other, What is come vnto the sonne of Kish? is Saul also among the Prophets?
Y aconteció que todos los que le conocían de ayer y de anteayer, miraban como profetizaba con los profetas. Y el pueblo decía el uno al otro. ¿Qué ha acontecido al hijo de Cis? ¿Saul también entre los profetas?
12 And one of the same place answered, and said, But who is their father? Therefore it was a prouerbe, Is Saul also among the Prophets?
Y alguno de allí respondió, y dijo: ¿Y quién es el padre de ellos? Por esta causa se tornó en proverbio, ¿También Saul entre los profetas?
13 And when he had made an ende of prophecying, he came to the hie place.
Y cesó de profetizar, y llegó al alto.
14 And Sauls vncle saide vnto him, and to his seruant, Whither went ye? And he saide, To seeke the asses: and when we sawe that they were no where, we came to Samuel.
Y un tio de Saul dijo a él y a su criado: ¿Dónde fuisteis? Y él respondió: A buscar las asnas. Y como vimos que no parecían, fuimos a Samuel.
15 And Sauls vncle saide, Tell me, I pray thee, what Samuel said vnto you.
Y dijo el tio de Saul: Yo te ruego que me declares, ¿qué os dijo Samuel?
16 Then Saul saide to his vncle, He tolde vs plainely that the asses were founde: but concerning the kingdome whereof Samuel spake, tolde he him not.
Y Saul respondió a su tio, declarando nos declaró que las asnas habían parecido. Mas del negocio del reino, de que Samuel le habló, no le descubrió nada.
17 And Samuel assembled the people vnto the Lord in Mizpeh,
Y Samuel convocó el pueblo a Jehová en Maspa.
18 And he saide vnto the children of Israel, Thus saith ye Lord God of Israel, I haue brought Israel out of Egypt, and deliuered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the handes of all kingdomes that troubled you.
Y dijo a los hijos de Israel: Así dijo Jehová el Dios de Israel: Yo saqué a Israel de Egipto, y os libré de mano de los Egipcios, y de mano de todos los reinos que os afligieron;
19 But ye haue this day cast away your God, who onely deliuereth you out of all your aduersities and tribulations: and ye said vnto him, No, but appoint a King ouer vs. Nowe therefore stand ye before the Lord according to your tribes, and according to your thousands.
Mas vosotros habéis desechado hoy a vuestro Dios, que os guarda de todas vuestras aflicciones y angustias, diciendo: No, sino pon rey sobre nosotros. Ahora pues ponéos delante de Jehová por vuestras tribus, y por vuestros millares.
20 And when Samuel had gathered together all the tribes of Israel, the tribe of Beniamin was taken.
Y haciendo allegar Samuel todas las tribus de Israel, fue tomada la tribu de Ben-jamín.
21 Afterwarde he assembled the tribe of Beniamin according to their families, and the familie of Matri was taken. So Saul the sonne of Kish was taken, and when they sought him, he coulde not be found.
E hizo llegar la tribu de Ben-jamín por sus linajes, y fue tomada la familia de Metri, y de ella fue tomado Saul hijo de Cis: y como le buscaron, no fue hallado.
22 Therefore they asked the Lord againe, if that man should yet come thither. And the Lord answered, Beholde, he hath hid himselfe among the stuffe.
Y preguntaron otra vez a Jehová, si había aun de venir allí aquel varón: y Jehová respondió: He aquí que él está escondido entre el bagaje.
23 And they ranne, and brought him thence: and when he stoode among the people, he was hier then any of the people from the shoulders vpwarde.
Entonces corrieron allá, y tomáronle de allí; y puesto en medio del pueblo, desde el hombro arriba era más alto que todo el pueblo.
24 And Samuel saide to all the people, See ye not him, whom the Lord hath chosen, that there is none like him among all the people? and all the people shouted and saide, God saue the King.
Y Samuel dijo a todo el pueblo: ¿Habéis visto al que ha elegido Jehová, que no hay semejante a él en todo el pueblo? Entonces el pueblo clamó con alegría, diciendo: Viva el rey.
25 Then Samuel tolde the people the duetie of the kingdome, and wrote it in a booke, and laied it vp before the Lord, and Samuel sent all the people away euery man to his house.
Entonces Samuel recitó al pueblo el derecho del reino, y escribiólo en un libro, el cual guardó delante de Jehová.
26 Saul also went home to Gibeah, and there followed him a bande of men, whose heart God had touched,
Y envió Samuel a todo el pueblo cada uno a su casa: y Saul también se fue a su casa en Gabaa, y fueron con él algunos del ejército, el corazón de los cuales Dios había tocado.
27 But the wicked men saide, Howe shall hee saue vs? So they despised him, and brought him no presents: but he held his tongue.
Mas los impíos dijeron: ¿Cómo nos ha este de salvar? Y tuviéronle en poco, y no le trajeron presente: mas él disimuló.
