1 Samuel 10
1 Then Samuel tooke a viole of oyle and powred it vpon his head, and kissed him, and saide, Hath not the Lord anointed thee to be gouernour ouer his inheritance?
Darauf nahm Samuel die Ölflasche, goß sie auf sein Haupt und küßte ihn. Dann sprach er: "Damit salbt dich der Herr zum Fürsten über sein Eigentum.
2 When thou shalt depart from me this day, thou shalt finde two men by Rahels sepulchre in the border of Beniamin, euen at Zelzah, and they will say vnto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seeke, are founde: and lo, thy father hath left the care of the asses, and soroweth for you, saying, What shall I doe for my sonne?
Gehst du heute von mir weg, so triffst du zwei Männer bei Rachels Grab an der Grenze Benjamins im Glutschatten. Sie sagen zu dir: 'Die Eselinnen, die du suchen gegangen, haben sich gefunden. Dein Vater hat die Sache mit den Eselinnen aufgegeben; dafür ist er um euch besorgt und sagt: Was soll ich für meinen Sohn tun?'
3 Then shalt thou go forth from thence and shalt come to the plaine of Tabor, and there shall meete thee three men going vp to God to Bethel: one carying three kiddes, and an other carying three loaues of bread, and another carying a bottle of wine:
Gehst du von da weiter und kommst du zur Taboreiche, so stoßen dort drei Männer zu dir. Sie gehen zu der Gottheit nach Betel hinauf. Der eine führt drei Böcklein mit sich, der andere hat drei Brotlaibe und der dritte einen Schlauch Wein.
4 And they will aske thee if all be well, and will giue thee the two loaues of bread, which thou shalt receiue of their handes.
Sie grüßen dich und geben dir zwei Brote. Nimm sie von ihnen an!
5 After that shalt thou come to the hill of God, where is the garisons of the Philistims: and when thou art come thither to the citie, thou shalt meete a companie of Prophets comming downe from the hie place with a viole, and a tymbrell, and a pipe, and an harpe before them, and they shall prophecie.
Hernach kommst du zu dem Gotteshügel, wo die Philisterposten sind, und wenn du dorthin in die Stadt kommst, dann triffst du einen Trupp Propheten, die von der Höhe kommen; ihnen voraus Harfen, Pauken, Flöten und Zithern; sie selbst aber sind verzückt.
6 Then the Spirit of the Lord will come vpon thee, and thou shalt prophecie with them, and shalt be turned into another man.
Dann kommt über dich der Geist des Herrn, und du wirst mit ihnen verzückt und wandelst dich in einen anderen Menschen.
7 Therefore when these signes shall come vnto to thee, doe as occasion shall serue: for God is with thee.
Wenn diese Zeichen bei dir eintreffen, dann tu dein Möglichstes! Denn Gott ist mit dir.
8 And thou shalt goe downe before me to Gilgal: and I also will come downe vnto thee to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace. Tary for me seuen dayes, till I come to thee and shewe thee what thou shalt doe.
Geh vor mir nach dem Gilgal hinab! Ich komme zu dir hinab, Brandopfer darzubringen und Mahlopfer zu schlachten. Warte aber sieben Tage, bis ich zu dir komme und dir kundtue, was du tun sollst!"
9 And when he had turned his backe to goe from Samuel, God gaue him another heart: and all those tokens came to passe that same day.
Als er den Rücken wandte, um von Samuel wegzugehen, da wandelte ihm Gott sein Inneres. Und an jenem Tage trafen alle diese Zeichen ein.
10 And when they came thither to the hill, beholde, the companie of Prophets meete him, and the Spirit of God came vpon him, and he prophecied among them.
Als sie dorthin nach dem Hügel kamen, eilte ihm ein Trupp Propheten entgegen. Auch der Geist Gottes kam über ihn, und er ward mitten unter ihnen verzückt.
11 Therefore all the people that knewe him before, when they saw that he prophecied among the Prophets, saide eche to other, What is come vnto the sonne of Kish? is Saul also among the Prophets?
Und alle, die ihn von früher her kannten und sahen, wie er mit den Propheten verzückt war, diese Leute sagten zueinander: "Was ist mit dem Sohn des Kis geschehen? Ist auch Saul unter den Propheten?"
12 And one of the same place answered, and said, But who is their father? Therefore it was a prouerbe, Is Saul also among the Prophets?
Da erwiderte ein Mann von dort und sprach: "Aber wer ist denn ihr Vater?" Daher entstand das Sprichwort: "Auch Saul unter den Propheten?"
13 And when he had made an ende of prophecying, he came to the hie place.
Als er aufhörte, verzückt zu sein, kam er auf die Höhe.
14 And Sauls vncle saide vnto him, and to his seruant, Whither went ye? And he saide, To seeke the asses: and when we sawe that they were no where, we came to Samuel.
Da fragte Sauls Oheim ihn und seinen Diener: "Wohin seid ihr gegangen?" Er sprach: "Die Eselinnen zu suchen, und als wir sahen, daß sie nicht da waren, gingen wir zu Samuel."
15 And Sauls vncle saide, Tell me, I pray thee, what Samuel said vnto you.
Da sagte Sauls Oheim: "Sag mir doch, was Samuel zu euch gesprochen hat!"
16 Then Saul saide to his vncle, He tolde vs plainely that the asses were founde: but concerning the kingdome whereof Samuel spake, tolde he him not.
Da sprach Saul zu seinem Oheim: "Er hat uns mitgeteilt, daß die Eselinnen gefunden seien." Aber die Sache mit dem Königtum, wovon Samuel gesprochen, sagte er ihm nicht.
17 And Samuel assembled the people vnto the Lord in Mizpeh,
Da entbot Samuel das Volk zum Herrn auf die Mispa.
18 And he saide vnto the children of Israel, Thus saith ye Lord God of Israel, I haue brought Israel out of Egypt, and deliuered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the handes of all kingdomes that troubled you.
Er sprach zu den Söhnen Israels: "So spricht der Herr, Gott Israels: 'Ich habe aus Ägypten Israel herausgeführt und aus der Hand Ägyptens und all der Königreiche euch gerettet, die euch bedrängt haben.'
19 But ye haue this day cast away your God, who onely deliuereth you out of all your aduersities and tribulations: and ye said vnto him, No, but appoint a King ouer vs. Nowe therefore stand ye before the Lord according to your tribes, and according to your thousands.
Ihr aber verwerft jetzt euren Gott, der euch Retter war, in all euren Leiden und Nöten half. Ihr sagt: 'Nein! Einen König sollst du über uns setzen!' Nun denn! So stellt euch vor dem Herrn auf, nach euren Stämmen und Tausendschaften!"
20 And when Samuel had gathered together all the tribes of Israel, the tribe of Beniamin was taken.
Hierauf ließ Samuel alle Stämme Israels antreten. Da traf es den Stamm Benjamin.
21 Afterwarde he assembled the tribe of Beniamin according to their families, and the familie of Matri was taken. So Saul the sonne of Kish was taken, and when they sought him, he coulde not be found.
Hierauf ließ er den Stamm Benjamin sippenweise antreten. Da traf es die Sippe der Matriter. Dann traf es Saul, des Kis Sohn. Da suchten sie ihn. Er aber war nicht zu finden.
22 Therefore they asked the Lord againe, if that man should yet come thither. And the Lord answered, Beholde, he hath hid himselfe among the stuffe.
Da fragten sie nochmals den Herrn: "Ist der Mann überhaupt hierher gekommen?" Da sprach der Herr: "Ja! Er hält sich beim Gepäck versteckt."
23 And they ranne, and brought him thence: and when he stoode among the people, he was hier then any of the people from the shoulders vpwarde.
Da liefen sie hin und holten ihn von dort. Als er mitten unters Volk trat, überragte er alles Volk von seiner Schulter an.
24 And Samuel saide to all the people, See ye not him, whom the Lord hath chosen, that there is none like him among all the people? and all the people shouted and saide, God saue the King.
Da sprach Samuel zum ganzen Volk: "Seht ihr nicht? Der, den sich der Herr erkoren, hat nicht seinesgleichen im ganzen Volk." Und das ganze Volk jubelte und rief:"Es lebe der König!"
25 Then Samuel tolde the people the duetie of the kingdome, and wrote it in a booke, and laied it vp before the Lord, and Samuel sent all the people away euery man to his house.
Hernach trug Samuel dem Volk die Rechte des Königtums vor. Dann schrieb er sie in das Buch und legte dies vor dem Herrn nieder. Dann entließ Samuel das ganze Volk, jeden in seine Heimat.
26 Saul also went home to Gibeah, and there followed him a bande of men, whose heart God had touched,
Auch Saul war in seine Heimat nach Gibea gegangen, und mit ihm ging die Schar, deren Herz Gott gerührt hatte.
27 But the wicked men saide, Howe shall hee saue vs? So they despised him, and brought him no presents: but he held his tongue.
Bösewichter aber hatten gesagt: "Was kann uns dieser helfen?" Und sie verachteten ihn und sie hatten ihm kein Geschenk gebracht. Er aber stellte sich wie taub.
