1 Peter 1
1 PETER an Apostle of IESVS CHRIST, to the strangers that dwell here and there throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia,
Pedro, apóstol de Jesucristo, a los elegidos que viven como extranjeros en la Dispersión en el Ponto, Galacia, Capadocia, Asia y Bitinia,
2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God ye Father vnto sanctification of ye Spirit, through obedience and sprinkeling of the blood of Iesus Christ: Grace and peace bee multiplied vnto you.
según la previsión de Dios Padre, en santificación del Espíritu, para que obedezcáis a Jesucristo y seáis rociados con su sangre: Que la gracia y la paz se multipliquen.
3 Blessed bee God, euen the Father of our Lord Iesus Christ, which according to his aboundant mercie hath begotten vs againe vnto a liuely hope by the resurrection of Iesus Christ from the dead,
Bendito sea el Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que según su gran misericordia nos hizo nacer de nuevo a una esperanza viva por la resurrección de Jesucristo de entre los muertos,
4 To an inheritance immortall and vndefiled, and that withereth not, reserued in heauen for vs,
a una herencia incorruptible e incontaminada que no se desvanece, reservada en el Cielo para vosotros,
5 Which are kept by the power of God through faith vnto saluation, which is prepared to be shewed in the last time.
que por el poder de Dios estáis guardados por la fe para una salvación preparada para ser revelada en el último tiempo.
6 Wherein yee reioyce, though nowe for a season (if neede require) yee are in heauinesse, through manifolde tentations,
En esto os regocijáis en gran medida, aunque ahora por un tiempo, si es necesario, habéis sido afligidos en diversas pruebas,
7 That the triall of your faith, being much more precious then golde that perisheth (though it be tried with fire) might bee founde vnto your praise, and honour and glorie at the appearing of Iesus Christ:
para que la prueba de vuestra fe, que es más preciosa que el oro que perece, aunque sea probada por el fuego, sea hallada para que resulte en alabanza, gloria y honor en la revelación de Jesucristo,
8 Whome yee haue not seene, and yet loue him, in whome nowe, though yee see him not, yet doe you beleeue, and reioyce with ioy vnspeakeable and glorious,
a quien, no habiendo conocido, amáis. En él, aunque ahora no lo veáis, creyendo, os alegráis enormemente con una alegría indecible y llena de gloria,
9 Receiuing the ende of your faith, euen the saluation of your soules.
recibiendo el resultado de vuestra fe, la salvación de vuestras almas.
10 Of the which saluation ye Prophets haue inquired and searched, which prophecied of the grace that should come vnto you,
Con respecto a esta salvación, los profetas buscaron e indagaron diligentemente. Profetizaron sobre la gracia que vendría a vosotros,
11 Searching when or what time the Spirite which testified before of Christ which was in them, shoulde declare the sufferings that should come vnto Christ, and the glorie that shoulde follow.
buscando a quién o a qué tiempo apuntaba el Espíritu de Cristo que estaba en ellos cuando predijo los sufrimientos de Cristo y las glorias que los seguirían.
12 Vnto whome it was reueiled, that not vnto themselues, but vnto vs they shoulde minister the things, which are nowe shewed vnto you by them which haue preached vnto you the Gospell by the holy Ghost sent downe from heauen, the which things the Angels desire to beholde.
A ellos se les reveló que no se servían a sí mismos, sino a vosotros, en estas cosas que ahora se os han anunciado por medio de los que os han predicado la Buena Nueva por el Espíritu Santo enviado desde el cielo; cosas que los ángeles desean examinar.
13 Wherefore, girde vp the Ioynes of your minde: bee sober, and trust perfectly on that grace that is brought vnto you, in the reuelation of Iesus Christ,
Por lo tanto, preparen sus mentes para la acción. Sed sobrios, y poned vuestra esperanza plenamente en la gracia que se os traerá en la revelación de Jesucristo,
14 As obedient children, not fashioning your selues vnto the former lustes of your ignorance:
como hijos de la obediencia, no conformándoos según vuestras antiguas concupiscencias, como en vuestra ignorancia,
15 But as hee which hath called you, is holie, so be yee holie in all maner of conuersation;
sino que así como el que os llamó es santo, sed también vosotros santos en toda vuestra conducta,
16 Because it is written, Be yee holie, for I am holie.
porque está escrito: “Seréis santos, porque yo soy santo.”
17 And if ye call him Father, which without respect of person iudgeth according to euery mans woorke, passe the time of your dwelling here in feare,
Si invocáis a aquel que, sin acepción de personas, juzga según la obra de cada uno, pasad el tiempo de vuestra vida como extranjeros aquí con temor reverente,
18 Knowing that yee were not redeemed with corruptible things, as siluer and golde, from your vaine conuersation, receiued by the traditions of the fathers,
sabiendo que habéis sido redimidos, no con cosas corruptibles como plata u oro, de la inútil forma de vida transmitida por vuestros padres
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a Lambe vndefiled, and without spot.
sino con sangre preciosa, como la de un cordero sin defecto ni mancha, la sangre de Cristo,
20 Which was ordeined before the foundation of the world, but was declared in the last times for your sakes,
que fue conocido de antemano antes de la fundación del mundo, pero que fue revelado en este último tiempo por causa de vosotros,
21 Which by his meanes doe beleeue in God that raised him from the dead, and gaue him glorie, that your faith and hope might bee in God,
que por medio de él sois creyentes en Dios, que lo resucitó de entre los muertos y le dio gloria, para que vuestra fe y esperanza estén en Dios.
22 Hauing purified your soules in obeying the trueth through the spirite, to loue brotherly without faining, loue one another with a pure heart feruently,
Habiendo purificado vuestras almas en vuestra obediencia a la verdad por medio del Espíritu en sincero afecto fraternal, amaos unos a otros de corazón fervientemente,
23 Being borne anewe, not of mortall seede, but of immortall, by the woorde of God, who liueth and endureth for euer. (aiōn g165)
habiendo nacido de nuevo, no de semilla corruptible, sino de incorruptible, por medio de la palabra de Dios, que vive y permanece para siempre. (aiōn g165)
24 For all flesh is as grasse, and all the glorie of man is as the flower of grasse. The grasse withereth, and the flower falleth away.
Pues, “Toda la carne es como la hierba, y toda la gloria del hombre como la flor en la hierba. La hierba se marchita y su flor cae;
