1 Peter 5
1 The elders which are among you, I beseech which am also an elder, and a witnesse of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shalbe reueiled,
Por tanto, exhorto a los ancianos de entre vosotros, como compañero y testigo de los sufrimientos de Cristo, y que también participará en la gloria que se revelará:
2 Feede the flocke of God, which dependeth vpon you, caring for it not by constraint, but willingly: not for filthy lucre, but of a ready minde:
pastoread el rebaño de Dios que está entre vosotros, ejerciendo la vigilancia, no por obligación, sino voluntariamente; no por ganancia deshonesta, sino de buen grado;
3 Not as though ye were lords ouer Gods heritage, but that yee may bee ensamples to the flocke.
no como señoreando a los que se os ha confiado, sino poniéndoos como ejemplo del rebaño.
4 And when that chiefe shepheard shall appeare, ye shall receiue an incorruptible crowne of glory.
Cuando se manifieste el pastor principal, recibiréis la corona de gloria que no se marchita.
5 Likewise ye yonger, submit your selues vnto the elders, and submit your selues euery man, one to another: decke your selues inwardly in lowlinesse of minde: for God resisteth the proude, and giueth grace to the humble.
Asimismo, vosotros, los más jóvenes, estad sujetos a los mayores. Sí, revestíos todos de humildad y someteos unos a otros; porque “Dios resiste a los soberbios, pero da gracia a los humildes.”
6 Humble your selues therefore vnder the mightie hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.
Humillaos, pues, bajo la poderosa mano de Dios, para que él os exalte a su debido tiempo,
7 Cast all your care on him: for he careth for you.
echando todas vuestras preocupaciones sobre él, porque él se ocupa de vosotros.
8 Be sober, and watch: for your aduersarie the deuil as a roaring lyon walketh about, seeking whom he may deuoure:
Sé sobrio y autocontrolado. Estad atentos. Vuestro adversario, el diablo, anda como un león rugiente, buscando a quién devorar.
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren which are in the world.
Resistidle firmes en vuestra fe, sabiendo que vuestros hermanos que están en el mundo pasan por los mismos sufrimientos.
10 And the God of all grace, which hath called vs vnto his eternall glory by Christ Iesus, after that ye haue suffered a litle, make you perfite, confirme, strengthen and stablish you. (aiōnios g166)
Pero el Dios de toda gracia, que os llamó a su gloria eterna por Cristo Jesús, después de que hayáis sufrido un poco, os perfeccione, establezca, fortalezca y asiente. (aiōnios g166)
A él sea la gloria y el poder por los siglos de los siglos. Amén. (aiōn g165)
12 By Syluanus a faithfull brother vnto you, as I suppose, haue I written briefly, exhorting and testifying how that this is the true grace of God, wherein ye stand.
Por medio de Silvano, nuestro fiel hermano, como lo considero, os he escrito brevemente, exhortando y testificando que ésta es la verdadera gracia de Dios en la que estáis.
13 The Church that is at Babylon elected together with you, saluteth you, and Marcus my sonne.
Os saluda la que está en Babilonia, elegida junto con vosotros. Lo mismo hace Marcos, hijo mío.
14 Greete yee one another with the kisse of loue. Peace be with you all which are in Christ Iesus, Amen.
Saludaos unos a otros con un beso de amor. La paz sea con todos los que están en Cristo Jesús. Amén.
