1 Peter 4

1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for vs in the flesh, arme your selues likewise with the same minde, which is, that he which hath suffered in the flesh, hath ceased from sinne,

ക്രിസ്തു ശരീരത്തിൽ കഷ്ടം സഹിച്ചതിനാൽ നിങ്ങളും അതുപോലെതന്നെ കഷ്ടം സഹിക്കാൻ സന്നദ്ധരായിരിക്കുക. കാരണം, ശാരീരിക കഷ്ടതകൾ പാപത്തിന് തടയിടുന്നു.

2 That he hence forward should liue (as much time as remaineth in the flesh) not after the lusts of men, but after the will of God.

തത്ഫലമായി ശാരീരിക കഷ്ടത അനുഭവിക്കുന്ന വ്യക്തി, പാപകരമായ മാനുഷികമോഹങ്ങൾ പൂർത്തീകരിക്കാനല്ല, മറിച്ച്, ശിഷ്ടായുസ്സ് ദൈവഹിതം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നയാളായി ജീവിക്കും.

3 For it is sufficient for vs that we haue spet the time past of ye life, after the lust of the Gentiles, walking in wantonnes, lustes, drunkennes, in gluttonie, drinkings, and in abominable idolatries.

കഴിഞ്ഞകാലങ്ങളിൽ, യെഹൂദേതരർ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടതും അവർ അനുവർത്തിച്ചുവന്നതുമായ, കുത്തഴിഞ്ഞ ജീവിതരീതി, ദുർമോഹം, മദ്യപാനം, മദിരോത്സവം, കൂത്താട്ടം, നിഷിദ്ധമായ വിഗ്രഹാരാധന തുടങ്ങിയവയിൽ നിങ്ങൾ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു.

4 Wherein it seemeth to them strange, that yee runne not with them vnto the same excesse of riot: therefore speake they euill of you,

അവരുടെ അപരിഷ്കൃതവും നാശകരവുമായ ചര്യകളിൽ നിങ്ങൾ അവരോടൊപ്പം പങ്കു ചേരാത്തതിൽ അവർ അത്ഭുതപ്പെടുകയും നിങ്ങളെ ദുഷിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു.

5 Which shall giue accounts to him, that is readie to iudge quicke and dead.

എന്നാൽ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവരെയും മരിച്ചവരെയും ന്യായംവിധിക്കാൻ തയ്യാറായിരിക്കുന്ന ദൈവത്തിനുമുമ്പാകെ അവർ കണക്കു ബോധിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടിവരും.

6 For vnto this purpose was the Gospell preached also vnto the dead, that they might bee condemned, according to men in the flesh, but might liue according to God in the spirit.

അതുകൊണ്ടാണ് ഇപ്പോൾ മൃതാവസ്ഥയിലിരിക്കുന്നവരോടും സുവിശേഷം പ്രസംഗിച്ചത്. അവർ സകലമനുഷ്യരെയുംപോലെ മരണത്തിന് വിധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവരെങ്കിലും ആത്മാവിൽ ദൈവത്തെപ്പോലെ ജീവിക്കുന്നു.

7 Now the ende of all things is at hand. Be ye therefore sober, and watching in prayer.

എന്നാൽ, സകലത്തിന്റെയും അന്ത്യം ആസന്നമായിരിക്കുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങൾ പ്രാർഥനയിൽ സമചിത്തതയും ജാഗ്രതയും പുലർത്തുക.

8 But aboue all thinges haue feruent loue among you: for loue shall couer the multitude of sinnes.

സർവോപരി പരസ്പരം അഗാധമായി സ്നേഹിക്കുക; സ്നേഹം സംഖ്യാതീതമായ പാപങ്ങൾ മറയ്ക്കുന്നു.

9 Be ye harberous one to another, without grudging.

പരാതികൂടാതെ പരസ്പരം ആതിഥ്യമര്യാദ കാണിക്കുക.

10 Let euery man as hee hath receiued the gift, minister the same one to another, as good disposers of the manifolde grace of God.

ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നു ലഭിച്ച വിവിധ കൃപാദാനങ്ങളുടെ നല്ല കാര്യസ്ഥരായി ഓരോരുത്തരും തങ്ങൾക്കു ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ദാനങ്ങൾ മറ്റുള്ളവരെ സേവിക്കുന്നതിനായി ഉപയോഗിക്കുക.

11 If any man speake, let him speake as the wordes of God. If any man minister, let him do it as of the abilitie which God ministreth, that God in al things may be glorified through Iesus Christ, to whome is prayse and dominion for euer, and euer, Amen. (aiōn g165)

പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്നയാൾ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടുകൾ പ്രസ്താവിക്കട്ടെ. ശുശ്രൂഷിക്കുന്നയാൾ ദൈവം നൽകിയ ശക്തിക്കനുസൃതമായി അതു ചെയ്യട്ടെ. അങ്ങനെ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിലൂടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നാമം എല്ലാവിധത്തിലും മഹത്ത്വപ്പെടട്ടെ. അവിടത്തേക്ക് മഹത്ത്വവും അധികാരവും എന്നെന്നേക്കും ഉണ്ടാകുമാറാകട്ടെ. ആമേൻ. (aiōn g165)

12 Dearely beloued, thinke it not strange concerning the firie triall, which is among you to proue you, as though some strange thing were come vnto you:

പ്രിയരേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ മാറ്റുരയ്ക്കുന്ന അഗ്നിപരീക്ഷകൾ നേരിടുമ്പോൾ അസാധാരണമായത് എന്തോ സംഭവിച്ചു എന്നതുപോലെ അത്ഭുതപ്പെടരുത്;

13 But reioyce, in asmuch as ye are partakers of Christs suffrings, that when his glory shall appeare, ye may be glad and reioyce.

ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ കഷ്ടതകളിൽ നിങ്ങൾ പങ്കാളികളാകുന്നതിൽ ആനന്ദിക്കുകയാണ് വേണ്ടത്. അങ്ങനെ അവിടത്തെ മഹത്ത്വം വെളിപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അത്യധികം ആനന്ദിക്കാൻ സാധിക്കും.

14 If yee be railed vpon for the Name of Christ, blessed are ye: for the spirit of glory, and of God resteth vpon you: which on their part is euill spoken of: but on your part is glorified.

നിങ്ങൾ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമംമൂലം അവഹേളിക്കപ്പെടുന്നെങ്കിൽ, അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരാണ്. കാരണം, മഹത്ത്വത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവായ ദൈവാത്മാവ് നിങ്ങളുടെമേൽ അധിവസിക്കുന്നു.

15 But let none of you suffer as a murtherer, or as a thiefe, or an euil doer, or as a busibodie in other mens matters.

നിങ്ങൾ കൊലപാതകിയോ മോഷ്ടാവോ ദുഷ്കർമിയോ അന്യരുടെ കാര്യങ്ങളിൽ അനാവശ്യമായി ഇടപെടുന്നയാളോ ആയിട്ടല്ല കഷ്ടം സഹിക്കേണ്ടത്.

16 But if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not bee ashamed: but let him glorifie God in this behalfe.

ക്രിസ്ത്യാനിയായിട്ട് പീഡനം സഹിക്കുന്നതിൽ ലജ്ജിക്കേണ്ടതില്ല; മറിച്ച്, ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമം വഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്ത്വപ്പെടുത്തുകയാണു വേണ്ടത്.

17 For the time is come, that iudgement must beginne at the house of God. If it first beginne at vs, what shall the ende be of them which obey not the Gospel of God?

ദൈവഭവനത്തിൽ ന്യായവിധി ആരംഭിക്കാൻ സമയം ആസന്നമായിരിക്കുന്നു; അത് നമ്മിലാണ് ആരംഭിക്കുന്നതെങ്കിൽ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സുവിശേഷം അനുസരിക്കാത്തവരുടെ ഗതി എന്തായിരിക്കും!

18 And if the righteous scarcely bee saued, where shall the vngodly and the sinner appeare?

“നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ രക്ഷപ്രാപിക്കുന്നത് ദുഷ്കരമെങ്കിൽ, അഭക്തരുടെയും പാപികളുടെയും ഗതി എന്താകും!”

19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God, commit their soules to him in well doing, as vnto a faithfull Creator.

അതുകൊണ്ട്, ദൈവഹിതപ്രകാരം കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിക്കുന്നവർ, വിശ്വസ്തനായ സ്രഷ്ടാവിനു തങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ സമർപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് നന്മ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കട്ടെ.
