1 Kings 8
1 Then King Salomon assembled the Elders of Israel, euen all the heads of the tribes, the chiefe fathers of the children of Israel vnto him in Ierusalem, for to bring vp the Arke of the couenant of the Lord from the citie of Dauid, which is Zion.
ഇതിനുശേഷം, യഹോവയുടെ ഉടമ്പടിയുടെ പേടകം ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരമായ സീയോനിൽനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നതിനായി ശലോമോൻരാജാവ് ഇസ്രായേലിലെ എല്ലാ ഗോത്രത്തലവന്മാരെയും കുലത്തലവന്മാരെയും പിതൃഭവനനേതാക്കന്മാരെയും ജെറുശലേമിൽ തന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വിളിച്ചുവരുത്തി.
2 And all the men of Israel assembled vnto King Salomon at the feast in the moneth of Ethanim, which is the seuenth moneth.
ഏഴാംമാസമായ ഏഥാനീം മാസത്തിലെ ഉത്സവദിവസങ്ങളിൽ ഇസ്രായേൽജനം മുഴുവനും ശലോമോൻരാജാവിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ സമ്മേളിച്ചു.
3 And all the Elders of Israel came and the Priests tooke the Arke.
ഇസ്രായേൽ ഗോത്രത്തലവന്മാരെല്ലാവരും എത്തിച്ചേർന്നപ്പോൾ പുരോഹിതന്മാർ പേടകം എടുത്തു.
4 They bare the Arke of the Lord, and they bare the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tabernacle: those did the Priestes and Leuites bring vp.
ലേവ്യരും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ചേർന്നായിരുന്നു യഹോവയുടെ പേടകവും സമാഗമകൂടാരവും അതിലുള്ള സകലവിശുദ്ധ ഉപകരണങ്ങളും കൊണ്ടുവന്നത്.
5 And King Salomon and all the Congregation of Israel, that were assembled vnto him, were with him before the Arke, offering sheepe and beeues, which could not be tolde, nor nombred for multitude.
എണ്ണുകയോ തിട്ടപ്പെടുത്തുകയോ ചെയ്യാൻ കഴിയാത്തവിധം ആടുകളെയും കാളകളെയും യാഗമായി അർപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ശലോമോൻരാജാവും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നെത്തിയ ഇസ്രായേൽജനം മുഴുവനും പേടകത്തിനുമുമ്പിൽ സന്നിഹിതരായിരുന്നു.
6 So the Priestes brought the Arke of the couenant of the Lord vnto his place, into the oracle of the house, into the most holy place, euen vnder the wings of the Cherubims.
അതിനുശേഷം, പുരോഹിതന്മാർ യഹോവയുടെ ഉടമ്പടിയുടെ പേടകം ദൈവാലയത്തിന്റെ അന്തർമന്ദിരത്തിൽ അതിവിശുദ്ധസ്ഥലത്ത്, അതിനു നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരുന്ന സ്ഥാനത്തു, കെരൂബുകളുടെ ചിറകുകൾക്കു കീഴിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചു.
7 For ye Cherubims stretched out their wings ouer the place of the Arke, and the Cherubims couered the Arke, and the barres thereof aboue.
കെരൂബുകൾ പേടകത്തിനു മുകളിൽ ചിറകുകൾ വിരിച്ച്, പേടകത്തെയും അതിന്റെ തണ്ടുകളെയും ആവരണംചെയ്തിരുന്നു.
8 And they drewe out the barres, that the endes of the barres might appeare out of the Sanctuarie before the oracle, but they were not seene without: and there they are vnto this day.
അന്തർമന്ദിരത്തിനു മുമ്പിലുള്ള വിശുദ്ധസ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു നോക്കിയാൽ അഗ്രഭാഗങ്ങൾ കാണത്തക്കവിധം ഈ തണ്ടുകൾ നീളമുള്ളവയായിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ, വിശുദ്ധസ്ഥലത്തിനു വെളിയിൽനിന്നു നോക്കിയാൽ അവ കാണാമായിരുന്നില്ല. അവ ഇന്നുവരെയും അവിടെയുണ്ട്.
9 Nothing was in the Arke saue the two tables of stone which Moses had put there at Horeb, where the Lord made a couenant with the children of Israel, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.
ഇസ്രായേൽജനം ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോന്നശേഷം യഹോവ അവരുമായി ഹോരേബിൽവെച്ച് ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ മോശ പേടകത്തിനുള്ളിൽ നിക്ഷേപിച്ച രണ്ടു കൽപ്പലകകൾ അല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും അതിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.
10 And when the Priestes were come out of the Sanctuarie, the cloude filled the house of the Lord,
പുരോഹിതന്മാർ വിശുദ്ധസ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നും പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയം ഒരു മേഘംകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞു.
11 So that the Priestes could not stande to minister, because of the cloude: for the glorie of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord.
യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സ് അവിടത്തെ ആലയത്തിൽ നിറഞ്ഞിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട്, ശുശ്രൂഷചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന് ആലയത്തിൽ നിൽക്കാൻ, മേഘം നിമിത്തം പുരോഹിതന്മാർക്കു കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.
12 Then spake Salomon, The Lord said, that he woulde dwell in the darke cloude.
അപ്പോൾ ശലോമോൻ: “താൻ കാർമുകിലിൽ വസിക്കുമെന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
13 I haue built thee an house to dwell in, an habitation for thee to abide in for euer.
എന്നാൽ, ഞാൻ അവിടത്തേക്കുവേണ്ടി ഒരു വിശിഷ്ടമായ ആലയം—അവിടത്തേക്ക് നിത്യകാലം വസിക്കാനുള്ള ഒരിടം—പണിതിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
14 And the King turned his face, and blessed all the Congregation of Israel: for all the Congregation of Israel stoode there.
ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ സർവസഭയും അവിടെ നിൽക്കുമ്പോൾത്തന്നെ രാജാവു തിരിഞ്ഞ് അവരെ ആശീർവദിച്ചു.
15 And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who spake with his mouth vnto Dauid my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,
അതിനുശേഷം അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞത്: “ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ! എന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിനോട് അവിടന്നു തിരുവാകൊണ്ട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വാഗ്ദാനം തിരുക്കരങ്ങളാൽ പൂർത്തീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
16 Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no citie of all the tribes of Israel, to builde an house that my name might be there: but I haue chosen Dauid to be ouer my people Israel.
‘എന്റെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിനെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്ന് വിടുവിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവന്ന നാൾമുതൽ ഇന്നുവരെ എന്റെ നാമം സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതിനുവേണ്ടി ഒരാലയം നിർമിക്കാൻ ഇസ്രായേൽ ഗോത്രങ്ങളിലെങ്ങും ഞാൻ ഒരു നഗരം തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിട്ടില്ല, എന്നാൽ, എന്റെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിനെ ഭരിക്കുന്നതിനു ഞാൻ ദാവീദിനെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു,’ എന്ന് എന്റെ പിതാവിനോട് അവിടന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
17 And it was in ye heart of Dauid my father to builde an house to the Name of the Lord God of Israel.
“ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിന് ഒരു ആലയം പണിയണമെന്നത് എന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ഹൃദയാഭിലാഷമായിരുന്നു.
18 And the Lord said vnto Dauid my father, Where as it was in thine heart to build an house vnto my Name, thou diddest well, that thou wast so minded:
എന്നാൽ, യഹോവ എന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിനോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചത്: ‘എന്റെ നാമത്തിന് ഒരു ആലയം പണിയുന്നതിന് നീ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചല്ലോ! ഇങ്ങനെ ഒരഭിലാഷം ഉണ്ടായതു നല്ലതുതന്നെ.
19 Neuerthelesse thou shalt not builde the house, but thy sonne that shall come out of thy loynes, he shall builde the house vnto my Name.
എന്നിരുന്നാലും, ആലയം പണിയേണ്ട വ്യക്തി നീയല്ല; എന്നാൽ, നിന്റെ മകൻ, നിന്റെ സ്വന്തം മാംസവും രക്തവുമായവൻ, തന്നെയാണ് എന്റെ നാമത്തിന് ഒരു ആലയം പണിയേണ്ടത്.’
20 And the Lord hath made good his worde that he spake: and I am risen vp in the roume of Dauid my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised, and haue built the house for the Name of the Lord God of Israel.
“അങ്ങനെ, താൻ നൽകിയ വാഗ്ദാനം യഹോവ നിറവേറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു. കാരണം, യഹോവ വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്തിരുന്നതുപോലെ ഞാൻ എന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ അനന്തരാവകാശിയായി ഇന്ന് ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു. ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിന് ഞാൻ ഒരു ആലയം നിർമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
21 And I haue prepared therein a place for the Arke, wherein is the couenant of the Lord which he made with our fathers, whe he brought them out of the lande of Egypt.
യഹോവ നമ്മുടെ പൂർവികരെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്ന് കൊണ്ടുവന്നപ്പോൾ താൻ അവരോടു ചെയ്ത ഉടമ്പടി രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന പേടകം സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിന് ഞാൻ അതിൽ ഒരു സ്ഥലവും ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.”
22 Then Salomon stoode before the altar of the Lord in the sight of all the Congregation of Israel, and stretched out his handes towarde heauen,
അതിനുശേഷം, ശലോമോൻ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ സർവസഭയുടെയും മുന്നിൽ യഹോവയുടെ യാഗപീഠത്തിനുമുമ്പാകെ നിന്നുകൊണ്ട് ആകാശത്തിലേക്കു കൈകളുയർത്തി
23 And sayd, O Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee in heauen aboue, or in the earth beneath, thou that keepest couenant and mercie with thy seruants that walke before thee with all their heart,
ഇങ്ങനെ പ്രാർഥിച്ചു: “ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, ഉയരെ ആകാശത്തിലോ താഴേ ഭൂമിയിലോ അങ്ങേക്കു തുല്യനായി ഒരു ദൈവവുമില്ല. അവിടത്തെ വഴികളെ പൂർണഹൃദയത്തോടെ പിൻതുടരുന്ന തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരോട് അങ്ങയുടെ അചഞ്ചലസ്നേഹത്തിന്റെ ഉടമ്പടി നിറവേറ്റുന്ന ദൈവം അങ്ങാണല്ലോ!
24 Thou that hast kept with thy seruant Dauid my father, that thou hast promised him: for thou spakest with thy mouth and hast fulfilled it with thine hande, as appeareth this day.
അവിടത്തെ ദാസനും എന്റെ പിതാവുമായ ദാവീദിന് അങ്ങു നൽകിയ വാഗ്ദാനം അവിടന്നു നിറവേറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു. തിരുവാകൊണ്ട് അവിടന്നു വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്തത് ഇന്നു തൃക്കൈയാൽ അങ്ങു പൂർത്തീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
25 Therefore now, Lord God of Israel, keepe with thy seruant Dauid my father that thou hast promised him, saying, Thou shalt not want a man in my sight to sit vpon ye throne of Israel: so that thy childre take heed to their way, that they walke before me; as thou hast walked in my sight
“ഇപ്പോൾ, ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, എന്റെ പിതാവും അവിടത്തെ ദാസനുമായ ദാവീദിന് അവിടന്നു നൽകിയ വാഗ്ദാനം: ‘നീ എന്റെമുമ്പാകെ വിശ്വസ്തതയോടെ ജീവിച്ചതുപോലെ നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും എന്റെമുമ്പാകെ ജീവിക്കാൻ തങ്ങളുടെ വഴികളിൽ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുകമാത്രം ചെയ്താൽ, ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജസിംഹാസനത്തിലിരിക്കാൻ നിനക്കൊരു പുരുഷൻ എന്റെമുമ്പാകെ ഇല്ലാതെപോകുകയില്ല.’ ഈ വാഗ്ദാനവും അവിടന്നു പാലിക്കണമേ!
26 And nowe, O God of Israel, I pray thee, let thy worde be verified, which thou spakest vnto thy seruant Dauid my father.
അതുകൊണ്ട്, ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമേ, അവിടത്തെ ദാസനും എന്റെ പിതാവുമായ ദാവീദിന് അവിടന്നു നൽകിയ വാഗ്ദാനം ഇപ്പോൾ സഫലമാക്കിത്തരണമേ!
27 Is it true in deede that God will dwell on the earth? beholde, the heauens, and the heauens of heauens are not able to conteine thee: howe much more vnable is this house that I haue built?
“എന്നാൽ, ദൈവം യഥാർഥമായി ഭൂമിയിൽ വസിക്കുമോ? സ്വർഗത്തിനും സ്വർഗാധിസ്വർഗത്തിനുപോലും അങ്ങയെ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളാൻ സാധിക്കുകയില്ലല്ലോ! അങ്ങനെയെങ്കിൽ, അടിയൻ നിർമിച്ച ഈ ആലയം അങ്ങയെ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളാൻ എത്രയോ അപര്യാപ്തം?
28 But haue thou respect vnto the prayer of thy seruant, and to his supplication, O Lord, my God, to heare the cry and prayer which thy seruant prayeth before thee this day:
എങ്കിലും, എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, അവിടത്തെ ദാസനായ അടിയന്റെ പ്രാർഥനയും കരുണയ്ക്കുവേണ്ടിയുള്ള അടിയന്റെ യാചനയും ചെവിക്കൊള്ളണമേ! അവിടത്തെ ഈ ദാസൻ ഇന്നു തിരുസന്നിധിയിൽ സമർപ്പിക്കുന്ന നിലവിളിയും പ്രാർഥനയും അങ്ങു ശ്രദ്ധിക്കണമേ!
29 That thine eyes may be open toward this house, night and day, euen towarde the place whereof thou hast said, My Name shalbe there: that thou mayest hearken vnto the prayer which thy seruant prayeth in this place.
രാപകൽ അവിടത്തെ കടാക്ഷം ഈ ആലയത്തിന്മേൽ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കണമേ! ‘എന്റെ നാമം അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും,’ എന്ന് ഈ സ്ഥലത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് അവിടന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ. അവിടത്തെ ഈ ദാസൻ ഈ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞ് നടത്തുന്ന ഈ പ്രാർഥന ചെവിക്കൊള്ളുമല്ലോ!
30 Heare thou therefore the supplication of thy seruant, and of thy people Israel, which pray in this place, and heare thou in the place of thine habitation, euen in heauen, and when thou hearest, haue mercie.
അവിടത്തെ ഈ ദാസനും അവിടത്തെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലും ഇവിടേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു പ്രാർഥിക്കുമ്പോൾ അടിയങ്ങളുടെ സങ്കടയാചന കേൾക്കണേ! അവിടത്തെ വാസസ്ഥലമായ സ്വർഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് കേട്ട് അടിയങ്ങളോടു ക്ഷമിക്കണമേ!
31 When a man shall trespasse against his neighbour, and he lay vpon him an othe to cause him to sweare, and the swearer shall come before thine altar in this house,
“ഒരാൾ തന്റെ അയൽവാസിയോടു തെറ്റുചെയ്യുകയും അയാൾ ശപഥംചെയ്യാൻ നിർബന്ധിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്താൽ, ആ വ്യക്തി ഈ ആലയത്തിൽ എത്തി അവിടത്തെ യാഗപീഠത്തിനുമുമ്പാകെ ശപഥംചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ,
32 Then heare thou in heauen, and doe and iudge thy seruants, that thou condemne the wicked to bring his way vpon his head, and iustifie the righteous, to giue him according to his righteousnesse.
അവിടന്നു സ്വർഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് കേട്ട് അപരാധിയെ കുറ്റം വിധിച്ചും അയാളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു തക്കതായ ശിക്ഷ അയാളുടെമേൽ വരുത്തിയും അവിടത്തെ ദാസർക്കു നീതി നടപ്പാക്കിത്തരണമേ. നിഷ്കളങ്കനെ നിരപരാധിയെന്നു വിധിക്കുകയും അയാളുടെ നിഷ്കളങ്കത തെളിയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യണമേ!
33 When thy people Israel shall be ouerthrowen before the enemie, because they haue sinned against thee, and turne againe to thee, and confesse thy Name, and pray and make supplication vnto thee in this house,
“അവിടത്തെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേൽ അങ്ങേക്കെതിരേ പാപംചെയ്യുകയും അങ്ങനെ അവർ ശത്രുവിനാൽ പരാജിതരാക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ, അവർ വീണ്ടും മനംതിരിഞ്ഞ് അവിടത്തെ ഈ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു വരികയും അവിടത്തെ നാമം ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു പ്രാർഥിക്കുകയും സങ്കടയാചന ബോധിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്താൽ,
34 Then heare thou in heauen, and be mercifull vnto the sinne of thy people Israel, and bring them againe vnto the lande, which thou gauest vnto their fathers.
അവിടന്ന് സ്വർഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് അവരുടെ പ്രാർഥനകേട്ട് അവിടത്തെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ പാപം ക്ഷമിക്കുകയും അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്ക് അവിടന്നു വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്ത ദേശത്തേക്ക് അവരെ മടക്കിവരുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യണമേ!
35 When heauen shalbe shut vp, and there shalbe no raine because they haue sinned against thee, and shall pray in this place, and confesse thy Name, and turne from their sinne, when thou doest afflict them,
“അവിടത്തെ ജനം അങ്ങയോടു പാപം ചെയ്യുകനിമിത്തം ആകാശം അടഞ്ഞ് മഴയില്ലാതെയിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ—അവിടന്ന് അങ്ങനെ അവരെ ശിക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോൾ—അവർ ഈ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞുവന്നു പ്രാർഥിക്കുകയും അവിടത്തെ നാമം ഏറ്റുപറയുകയും തങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു പിന്തിരിയുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നപക്ഷം,
36 Then heare thou in heauen, and pardon the sinne of thy seruants and of thy people Israel (when thou hast taught the the good way wherein they may walke) and giue raine vpon the land that thou hast giuen to thy people to inherite.
അവിടന്നു സ്വർഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് അതു കേൾക്കണമേ, അവിടത്തെ ദാസരും അവിടത്തെ ജനവുമായ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ പാപം ക്ഷമിക്കണമേ. അവർ ജീവിക്കേണ്ട ശരിയായ വഴി അങ്ങ് അവരെ പഠിപ്പിക്കണേ, അങ്ങയുടെ ജനത്തിന് അവിടന്ന് അവകാശമായി നൽകിയ ദേശത്ത് മഴ വർഷിക്കണേ.
37 When there shalbe famine in the land, when there shalbe pestilence, when there shall be blasting, mildewe, grashopper or caterpiller, when their enemie shall besiege them in the cities of their lande, or any plague, or any sickenesse,
“ദേശത്ത് ക്ഷാമമോ പകർച്ചവ്യാധിയോ ഉഷ്ണക്കാറ്റോ വിഷമഞ്ഞോ വെട്ടുക്കിളിയോ കീടബാധയോ ഉണ്ടാകുമ്പോൾ, അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ശത്രു അവരുടെ ഏതെങ്കിലും നഗരത്തെ ഉപരോധിക്കുമ്പോൾ, ഏതെങ്കിലും രോഗമോ വ്യാധിയോ വരുമ്പോൾ,
38 Then what prayer, and supplication so euer shalbe made of any man or of all thy people Israel, when euery one shall knowe the plague in his owne heart, and stretch foorth his handes in this house,
അങ്ങയുടെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിലെ ഏതെങ്കിലും ഒരാൾ, ഹൃദയവ്യഥയോടെ ഈ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു കരങ്ങളുയർത്തി അവിടത്തെ സമക്ഷത്തിൽ ഒരു പ്രാർഥനയോ അപേക്ഷയോ സമർപ്പിക്കുന്നപക്ഷം,
39 Heare thou then in heauen, in thy dwelling place, and be mercifull, and doe, and giue euery man according to all his wayes, as thou knowest his heart, (for thou only knowest the heartes of all the children of men)
അവിടത്തെ വാസസ്ഥലമായ സ്വർഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് അതു കേൾക്കണമേ. അവരോടു ക്ഷമിച്ച് അതിൻപ്രകാരം പ്രവർത്തിക്കണമേ, ഓരോരുത്തരോടും അവരവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾക്കനുസൃതമായി പെരുമാറണമേ, കാരണം, അയാളുടെ ഹൃദയം അവിടന്ന് അറിയുന്നല്ലോ! സകലമനുഷ്യരുടെയും ഹൃദയം അറിയുന്നത് അവിടന്നുമാത്രമാണല്ലോ!
40 That they may feare thee as long as they liue in ye lad, which thou gauest vnto our fathers.
അങ്ങനെ, അവിടന്നു ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കു നൽകിയ ഈ ദേശത്തു വസിക്കുന്ന കാലമെല്ലാം അവർ അങ്ങയെ ഭയപ്പെടാൻ ഇടയാകുമല്ലോ.
41 Moreouer as touching the stranger that is not of thy people Israel, who shall come out of a farre countrey for thy Names sake,
“അവിടത്തെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടാത്ത ഒരു വിദേശി, അവിടത്തെ നാമംനിമിത്തം വിദൂരദേശത്തുനിന്നു വരികയും—
42 (When they shall heare of thy great name, and of thy mightie hande, and of thy stretched out arme) and shall come and pray in this house,
കാരണം അവിടത്തെ മഹത്തായ നാമത്തെയും ബലമുള്ള കരത്തെയും നീട്ടിയ ഭുജത്തെയുംകുറിച്ച് ദൂരെയുള്ളവർ കേൾക്കുമല്ലോ—അയാൾ ഈ ആലയത്തിലേക്കുതിരിഞ്ഞ് പ്രാർഥിക്കുമ്പോൾ,
43 Heare thou in heauen thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth for vnto thee: that all the people of the earth may know thy Name, and feare thee, as do thy people Israel: and that they may know, that thy Name is called vpon in this house which I haue built.
അങ്ങയുടെ വാസസ്ഥലമായ സ്വർഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് ആ പ്രാർഥന കേൾക്കണേ! ആ വിദേശി അങ്ങയോട് അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നതെന്തായാലും അവിടന്നു ചെയ്തുകൊടുക്കണേ. ആ വിധത്തിൽ അവിടത്തെ സ്വന്തജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിനെപ്പോലെ ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലജനതകളും അവിടത്തെ നാമം അറിയുകയും അങ്ങയെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമല്ലൊ! അടിയൻ നിർമിച്ച ഈ ആലയം അവിടത്തെ നാമത്തിലാണ് വിളിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതെന്ന് അവർ അറിയുമാറാകട്ടെ!
44 When thy people shall go out to battell against their enemie by the way that thou shalt sende them, and shall pray vnto the Lord towarde the way of the citie which thou hast chosen, and toward the house that I haue built for thy Name,
“അവിടത്തെ ജനം അവരുടെ ശത്രുക്കൾക്കെതിരേ യുദ്ധത്തിനുപോകുമ്പോൾ—അവിടന്ന് അവരെ എവിടെയൊക്കെ അയച്ചാലും—അവിടെനിന്നും അവർ അങ്ങു തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന നഗരത്തിലേക്കും അടിയൻ അവിടത്തെ നാമത്തിനുവേണ്ടി നിർമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ആലയത്തിലേക്കും തിരിഞ്ഞ് യഹോവയോടു പ്രാർഥിക്കുമ്പോൾ,
45 Heare thou then in heauen their prayer and their supplication, and iudge their cause.
അങ്ങ് സ്വർഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് അവരുടെ പ്രാർഥനയും യാചനയും കേട്ട് അവരുടെ കാര്യം സാധിച്ചുകൊടുക്കണേ!
46 If they sinne against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not) and thou be angry with them, and deliuer them vnto the enemies, so that they cary them away prisoners vnto the land of the enemies, either farre or neere,
“ഇസ്രായേൽ അവിടത്തേക്കെതിരേ പാപംചെയ്യുകയും—പാപം ചെയ്യാത്ത ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും ഇല്ലല്ലോ—അവിടന്ന് അവരോടു കോപിച്ച് അവരെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ കൈകളിൽ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുകയും അവരുടെ ശത്രുക്കൾ അവരെ, അടുത്തോ അകലെയോ ഉള്ള തങ്ങളുടെ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലേക്ക് അടിമകളാക്കികൊണ്ടുപോകുകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ,
47 Yet if they turne againe vnto their heart in the lande (to the which they be caryed away captiues) and returne and pray vnto thee in the lande of them that caryed them away captiues, saying, We haue sinned, we haue transgressed, and done wickedly,
അവർ അടിമകളായിക്കഴിയുന്ന രാജ്യത്തുവെച്ച് അവർ മനമുരുകി അനുതപിച്ച്, ‘ഞങ്ങൾ പാപംചെയ്തു വഴിതെറ്റിപ്പോയി, ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവർത്തിച്ചുപോയി,’ എന്ന് ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു പ്രാർഥിക്കുകയും
48 If they turne againe vnto thee with all their heart, and with all their soule in the lande of their enemies, which led them away captiues, and pray vnto thee toward the way of their land, which thou gauest vnto their fathers, and toward the citie which thou hast chosen, and the house, which I haue built for thy Name,
തങ്ങളെ അടിമകളാക്കി കൊണ്ടുപോയ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ രാജ്യത്തുവെച്ച് പൂർണഹൃദയത്തോടും പൂർണമനസ്സോടുംകൂടി അവിടത്തെ സന്നിധിയിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞ് അവിടന്ന് അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കു കൊടുത്ത ദേശത്തിലേക്കും അവിടന്നു തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത നഗരത്തിലേക്കും അടിയൻ തിരുനാമത്തിനുവേണ്ടി നിർമിച്ച ആലയത്തിലേക്കും തിരിഞ്ഞ് അവിടത്തോടു പ്രാർഥിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ,
49 Then heare thou their prayer and their supplication in heauen thy dwelling place, and iudge their cause,
അവിടത്തെ വാസസ്ഥലമായ സ്വർഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് അവരുടെ പ്രാർഥനയും യാചനയും കേട്ട് അവരുടെ കാര്യം നടത്തിക്കൊടുക്കണേ.
50 And be mercifull vnto thy people that haue sinned against thee, and vnto all their iniquities (wherein they haue transgressed against thee) and cause that they, which led them away captiues, may haue pitie and compassion on them:
അവിടത്തേക്കെതിരേ പാപംചെയ്ത അവിടത്തെ ജനത്തോട് അങ്ങു ക്ഷമിക്കണമേ. അവിടത്തേക്കെതിരേ അവർ പ്രവർത്തിച്ച സകല അതിക്രമങ്ങളും ക്ഷമിക്കണമേ! അവരെ അടിമകളാക്കിയ ശത്രുക്കൾ അവരോട് കരുണകാണിക്കാൻ അനുവദിക്കണമേ.
51 For they be thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest out of Egypt from the middes of the yron fornace.
കാരണം, അവർ ഈജിപ്റ്റ് എന്ന ഇരുമ്പുചൂളയിൽനിന്ന് അങ്ങ് മോചിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവന്ന അവിടത്തെ ജനവും അവിടത്തെ അവകാശവും ആണല്ലോ!
52 Let thine eyes be open vnto the prayer of thy seruant, and vnto the prayer of thy people Israel, to hearken vnto them, in all that they call for vnto thee.
“അവിടത്തെ ദാസനും അവിടത്തെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലും നടത്തുന്ന അപേക്ഷകളെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കണേ, അവർ അങ്ങയോടു നിലവിളിക്കുമ്പോഴെല്ലാം അവിടന്നു കേൾക്കണേ!
53 For thou diddest separate them to thee from among all people of the earth for an inheritance, as thou saidest by the hand of Moses thy seruant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord God.
കർത്താവായ യഹോവേ, അവിടന്നു ഞങ്ങളുടെ പൂർവികരെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്ന് മോചിപ്പിച്ച് കൊണ്ടുവന്നപ്പോൾ അവിടത്തെ ദാസനായ മോശമുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ, അവിടന്നു ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലജനതകളിൽനിന്നും സ്വന്തം അവകാശമായിരിക്കാൻ, അങ്ങ് അവരെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തുവല്ലോ!”
54 And when Salomon had made an ende of praying all this prayer and supplication vnto the Lord, he arose from before the altar of the Lord, from kneeling on his knees, and stretching of his handes to heauen,
ശലോമോൻ ഈ പ്രാർഥനകളും യാചനകളും യഹോവയുടെമുമ്പാകെ സമർപ്പിച്ചുതീർന്നപ്പോൾ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം എഴുന്നേറ്റു. അവിടെ, അദ്ദേഹം കൈകൾ ആകാശത്തിലേക്കുയർത്തി മുട്ടുകുത്തി നിൽക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
55 And stoode and blessed all the Congregation of Israel with a loud voyce, saying,
അദ്ദേഹം എഴുന്നേറ്റുനിന്ന് ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ സർവസഭയെയും ഉച്ചത്തിൽ ഇപ്രകാരം ആശീർവദിച്ചു:
56 Blessed be the Lord that hath giuen rest vnto his people Israel, according to all that hee promised: there hath not fayled one word of all his good promise which he promised by the hand of Moses his seruant.
“താൻ വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്തിരുന്നതുപോലെ തന്റെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിനു വിശ്രമം നൽകിയ യഹോവ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ. തന്റെ ദാസനായ മോശമുഖാന്തരം നൽകിയ നല്ല വാഗ്ദാനങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നുപോലും അവിടന്നു നിറവേറ്റാതിരുന്നിട്ടില്ല.
57 The Lord our God be with vs, as he was with our fathers, that he forsake vs not, neither leaue vs,
നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമ്മുടെ പൂർവികരോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതുപോലെ നമ്മോടുകൂടെയും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കട്ടെ; അവിടന്നു നമ്മെ കൈവിടുകയോ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.
58 That he may bow our heartes vnto him, that we may walke in all his waies, and keepe his commandements, and his statutes, and his lawes, which he commanded our fathers.
അവിടത്തെ നിർദേശങ്ങളെല്ലാം അനുസരിച്ചു ജീവിക്കുന്നതിനും അവിടന്നു നമ്മുടെ പൂർവികർക്കു നൽകിയ കൽപ്പനകളും ഉത്തരവുകളും നിയമങ്ങളും അനുസരിക്കുന്നതിനുമായി അവിടന്നു നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയം തങ്കലേക്കു തിരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ!
59 And these my wordes, which I haue prayed before the Lord, be neere vnto the Lord our God day and night, that he defende the cause of his seruant, and the cause of his people Israel alway as the matter requireth,
യഹോവയുടെമുമ്പാകെ ഞാൻ സമർപ്പിച്ച എന്റെ ഈ വാക്കുകൾ രാപകൽ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കട്ടെ, അവിടത്തെ ഈ ദാസന്റെയും അവിടത്തെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെയും ദൈനംദിന ആവശ്യങ്ങൾ അനുസരിച്ചുള്ള കാര്യങ്ങൾ അവിടന്നു നിറവേറ്റിത്തരട്ടെ!
60 That all the people of ye earth may knowe, that the Lord is God, and none other.
അങ്ങനെ, യഹോവ ആകുന്നു ദൈവം എന്നും, മറ്റൊരു ദൈവം ഇല്ലെന്നും ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലജനതകളും മനസ്സിലാക്കട്ടെ!
61 Let your heart therefore be perfit with the Lord our God to walke in his statutes, and to keepe his commandements, as this day.
എന്നാൽ, ഇന്നത്തെപ്പോലെതന്നെ അവിടത്തെ ഉത്തരവുകൾ അനുസരിച്ചു ജീവിക്കുന്നതിനും അവിടത്തെ കൽപ്പനകൾ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നതിനും നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയം നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു പരിപൂർണവിശ്വസ്തത പുലർത്തട്ടെ.”
62 Then the King and all Israel with him offred sacrifice before the Lord.
അതിനുശേഷം, ശലോമോൻരാജാവും അദ്ദേഹത്തോടുകൂടെയുണ്ടായിരുന്ന സകല ഇസ്രായേല്യരും യഹോവയുടെമുമ്പാകെ യാഗങ്ങൾ അർപ്പിച്ചു.
63 And Salomon offered a sacrifice of peace offrings which he offered vnto the Lord, to wit, two and twentie thousande beeues, and an hundreth and twentie thousande sheepe: so the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the Lord.
സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളായി ശലോമോൻ യഹോവയ്ക്ക് 22,000 കാളകളെയും 1,20,000 ചെമ്മരിയാടുകളെയും കോലാടുകളെയും അർപ്പിച്ചു. ഇപ്രകാരം, രാജാവും സകല ഇസ്രായേലുംചേർന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ നിർവഹിച്ചു.
64 The same day did the King halowe the middle of the court, that was before the house of the Lord: for there he made burnt offerings, and the meate offrings, and the fat of the peace offeringes, because the brasen altar that was before the Lord, was too litle to receiue the burnt offerings, and the meate offerings, and the fat of the peace offrings.
അന്നുതന്നെ രാജാവ് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിലെ അങ്കണത്തിന്റെ മധ്യഭാഗം വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ച് അവിടെ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും ഭോജനയാഗങ്ങളും സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള മേദസ്സും അർപ്പിച്ചു. കാരണം, യഹോവയുടെമുമ്പാകെയുള്ള വെങ്കലയാഗപീഠത്തിൽ ഇത്രത്തോളം ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും ഭോജനയാഗങ്ങളും സമാധാനയാഗത്തിനുള്ള മേദസ്സും ഉൾക്കൊള്ളാൻ അത്രയ്ക്കു വലുപ്പമുള്ളതായിരുന്നില്ല.
65 And Salomon made at that time a feast and all Israel with him, a very great Congregation, euen from the entring in of Hamath vnto the riuer of Egypt, before the Lord our God, seuen dayes and seuen dayes, euen fourteene dayes.
അങ്ങനെ ശലോമോനും അദ്ദേഹത്തോടൊപ്പമുണ്ടായിരുന്ന സകല ഇസ്രായേലും—ലെബോ-ഹമാത്തിന്റെ പ്രവേശനകവാടംമുതൽ ഈജിപ്റ്റിന്റെ തോടുവരെയുള്ള ഒരു വലിയ ജനസമൂഹം—അന്ന് ഉത്സവം ആചരിച്ചു. നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ഏഴുദിവസവും വീണ്ടും ഒരു ഏഴുദിവസവും അങ്ങനെ ആകെ പതിന്നാലു ദിവസം അവർ ഉത്സവം ആചരിച്ചു.
66 And the eight day he sent the people away: and they thanked the King and went vnto their tentes ioyous and with glad heart, because of al the goodnesse that the Lord had done for Dauid his seruant, and for Israel his people.
അടുത്തദിവസം അദ്ദേഹം ജനത്തെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു. യഹോവ തന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിനും തന്റെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിനുംവേണ്ടി ചെയ്ത സകലനന്മകളെയും ഓർത്ത് അവർ ആനന്ദിക്കുകയും ആഹ്ലാദിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു; അവർ രാജാവിനെ ആശീർവദിക്കുകയും സ്വഭവനങ്ങളിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുകയും ചെയ്തു.
