1 Kings 6
1 And in the foure hundreth and foure score yeere (after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt) and in the fourth yere of the reigne of Salomon ouer Israel, in the moneth Zif, (which is the second moneth) he built the house of the Lord.
Alla costruzione del tempio del Signore fu dato inizio l'anno quattrocentottanta dopo l'uscita degli Israeliti dal paese d'Egitto, l'anno quarto del regno di Salomone su Israele, nel mese di Ziv, cioè nel secondo mese.
2 And the house which King Salomon built for the Lord, was three score cubites long, and twentie broade, and thirtie cubites hie.
Il tempio costruito dal re Salomone per il Signore, era lungo sessanta cubiti, largo venti, alto trenta.
3 And the porch before the Temple of the house was twentie cubites long according to the breadth of the house, and ten cubites broade before the house.
Davanti al tempio vi era un atrio lungo venti cubiti, in base alla larghezza del tempio, ed esteso per dieci cubiti secondo la lunghezza del tempio.
4 And in the house he made windowes, broad without, and narrowe within.
Fece nel tempio finestre quadrangolari con grate.
5 And by the wall of the house hee made galleries round about, euen by the walles of the house round about the Temple and the oracle, and made chambers round about.
Intorno al muro del tempio fu costruito un edificio a piani, lungo la navata e la cella.
6 The nethermost gallerie was fiue cubites broade, and the middlemost sixe cubites broade, and the third seuen cubites broade: for he made restes round about without the house, that the beames should not be fastened in the walles of the house.
Il piano più basso era largo cinque cubiti, quello di mezzo sei e il terzo sette, perché le mura esterne, intorno, erano state costruite a riseghe, in modo che le travi non poggiassero sulle mura del tempio.
7 And when the house was built, it was built of stone perfite, before it was brought, so that there was neither hammer, nor axe, nor any toole of yron heard in the house, while it was in building.
Per la sua costruzione si usarono pietre lavorate e intere; durante i lavori nel tempio non si udì rumore di martelli, di piccone o di altro arnese di ferro.
8 The doore of the middle chamber was in the right side of the house, and men went vp with winding stayres into the middlemost, and out of the middlemost into the third.
La porta del piano più basso era sul lato destro del tempio; per mezzo di una scala a chiocciola si passava al piano di mezzo e dal piano di mezzo a quello superiore.
9 So he built the house and finished it, and sieled the house being vawted with sieling of cedar trees.
In tal modo Salomone costruì il tempio; dopo averlo terminato, lo ricoprì con assi e travi di cedro.
10 And he built the galleries vpon al the wall of the house of fiue cubites height, and they were ioyned to the house with beames of cedar.
Innalzò anche l'ala laterale intorno al tempio, alta cinque cubiti per piano; la unì al tempio con travi di cedro.
11 And the worde of the Lord came to Salomon, saying,
E il Signore parlò a Salomone e disse:
12 Cocerning this house which thou buildest, if thou wilt walke in mine ordinances, and execute my iudgements, and keepe al my commadements, to walke in them, then will I performe vnto thee my promise, which I promised to Dauid thy father.
«Riguardo al tempio che stai edificando, se camminerai secondo i miei decreti, se eseguirai le mie disposizioni e osserverai tutti i miei comandi, uniformando ad essi la tua condotta, io confermerò a tuo favore le parole dette da me a Davide tuo padre.
13 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and wil not forsake my people Israel.
Io abiterò in mezzo agli Israeliti; non abbandonerò il mio popolo Israele».
14 So Salomon built the house and finished it,
Terminata la costruzione del tempio,
15 And built the walles of the house within, with boards of cedar tree from the pauement of the house vnto the walles of the sieling, and within he couered them with wood, and couered the floore of the house with planks of firre.
Salomone rivestì all'interno le pareti del tempio con tavole di cedro dal pavimento al soffitto; rivestì anche con legno di cedro la parte interna del soffitto e con tavole di cipresso il pavimento.
16 And he built twentie cubites in the sides of the house with boards of cedar, from the floore to the walles, and he prepared a place within it for the oracle, euen the most holy place.
Separò uno spazio di venti cubiti, a partire dal fondo del tempio, con un assito di tavole di cedro che dal pavimento giungeva al soffitto, e la cella che ne risultò all'interno divenne il santuario, il Santo dei santi.
17 But the house, that is, the Temple before it, was fourtie cubites long.
La navata di fronte ad esso era di quaranta cubiti.
18 And the cedar of the house within was carued with knops, and grauen with floures: all was cedar, so that no stone was seene.
Il cedro all'interno del tempio era scolpito a rosoni e a boccioli di fiori; tutto era di cedro e non si vedeva una pietra.
19 Also he prepared the place of the oracle in the mids of the house within, to set the Arke of the couenant of the Lord there.
Per l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore fu apprestata una cella nella parte più segreta del tempio.
20 And the place of the oracle within was twentie cubites long, and twentie cubites broad, and twentie cubites hie, and hee couered it with pure golde, and couered the altar with cedar.
La cella interna era lunga venti cubiti e alta venti. La rivestì d'oro purissimo e vi eresse un altare di cedro.
21 So Salomon couered the house within with pure golde: and he shut the place of the oracle with chaines of gold, and couered it with golde.
Salomone rivestì l'interno del tempio con oro purissimo e fece passare, davanti alla cella, un velo che scorreva mediante catenelle d'oro e lo ricoprì d'oro.
22 And he ouerlayde all the house with gold, vntill all the house was made perfite. also he couered the whole altar, that was before the oracle, with golde.
E d'oro fu rivestito tutto l'interno del tempio, e rivestì d'oro anche tutto l'altare che era nella cella.
23 And within the oracle he made two Cherubims of oliue tree, ten cubites hie.
Nella cella fece due cherubini di legno di ulivo, alti dieci cubiti.
24 The wing also of the one Cherub was fiue cubites, and the wing of the other Cherub was fiue cubites: from the vttermost part of one of his wings vnto the vttermost part of the other of his wings, were ten cubites.
L'ala di un cherubino era di cinque cubiti e di cinque cubiti era anche l'altra ala del cherubino; c'erano dieci cubiti da una estremità all'altra delle ali.
25 Also the other Cherub was of ten cubites: both the Cherubims were of one measure and one sise.
Di dieci cubiti era l'altro cherubino; i due cherubini erano identici nella misura e nella forma.
26 For the height of the one Cherub was ten cubits, and so was the other Cherub.
L'altezza di un cherubino era di dieci cubiti, così anche quella dell'altro.
27 And he put the Cherubims within the inner house, and the Cherubims stretched out their wings, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other Cherub touched the other wall: and their other wings touched one another in the middes of the house.
Pose i cherubini nella parte più riposta del tempio, nel santuario. I cherubini avevano le ali spiegate; l'ala di uno toccava la parete e l'ala dell'altro toccava l'altra parete; le loro ali si toccavano in mezzo al tempio, ala contro ala.
28 And he ouerlaied the Cherubims with golde.
Erano anch'essi rivestiti d'oro.
29 And he carued all the walles of the house round about with grauen figures of Cherubims and of Palmetrees, and grauen flowres within and without.
Ricoprì le pareti del tempio con sculture e incisioni di cherubini, di palme e di boccioli di fiori, all'interno e all'esterno.
30 And the floore of the house hee couered with golde within and without.
Ricoprì d'oro il pavimento del tempio, all'interno e all'esterno.
31 And in the entring of the oracle he made two doores of oliue tree: and the vpper post and side postes were fiue square.
Fece costruire la porta della cella con battenti di legno di ulivo; il frontale e gli stipiti formavano un pentagono.
32 The two doores also were of oliue tree, and he graued them with grauing of Cherubims and palme trees, and grauen floures, and couered them with golde, and layed thin golde vpon the Cherubims and vpon the palme trees.
I due battenti erano di legno di ulivo. Su di essi fece scolpire cherubini, palme e boccioli di fiori, che ricoprì d'oro, stendendo lamine d'oro sui cherubini e sulle palme.
33 And so made he for the doore of the Temple, postes of oliue tree foure square.
Lo stesso procedimento adottò per la porta della navata, che aveva stipiti di legno di ulivo a forma quadrangolare.
34 But the two doores were of firre tree, the two sides of the one doore were round, and the two sides of the other doore were round.
I due battenti erano di legno di abete; un battente era costituito da due pezzi girevoli e così l'altro battente.
35 And he graued Cherubims, and palme trees, and carued floures and couered the carued worke with golde, finely wrought.
Vi scolpì cherubini, palme e boccioli di fiori, che ricoprì d'oro lungo le linee dell'incisione.
36 And hee built the court within with three rowes of hewed stone, and one rowe of beames of cedar.
Costruì il muro del cortile interno con tre ordini di pietre squadrate e con un ordine di tavole di cedro.
37 In the fourth yeere was the foundation of the house of the Lord layed in the moneth of Zif:
Nell'anno quarto, nel mese di Ziv, si gettarono le fondamenta del tempio del Signore.
38 And in the eleuenth yeere in the moneth of Bul, (which is the eight moneth) hee finished the house with all the furniture thereof, and in euery point: so was he seuen yeere in building it.
Nell'anno undecimo, nel mese di Bul, che è l'ottavo mese, fu terminato il tempio in tutte le sue parti e con tutto l'occorrente. Salomone lo edificò in sette anni.
