1 Kings 3
1 Salomon then made affinitie with Pharaoh King of Egypt, and tooke Pharaohs daughter, and brought her into the citie of Dauid, vntill hee had made an ende of buylding his owne house, and the house of the Lord, and the wall of Ierusalem round about.
Und Salomoh verschwägerte sich mit Pharao, dem König von Ägypten, und nahm die Tochter Pharaos und brachte sie in die Stadt Davids, bis er den Bau seines Hauses und des Hauses Jehovahs und der Mauer rings um Jerusalem vollendet hätte.
2 Only the people sacrificed in the hie places, because there was no house buylt vnto the name of the Lord, vntill those dayes.
Das Volk opferte jedoch auf den Opferhöhen; denn noch war bis zu selbigen Tagen kein Haus für den Namen Jehovahs gebaut.
3 And Salomon loued the Lord, walking in the ordinances of Dauid his father: onely he sacrificed and offred incense in the hie places.
Und Salomoh liebte Jehovah, so, daß er nach den Satzungen seines Vaters David wandelte, nur daß er auf den Opferhöhen opferte und räucherte.
4 And the King went to Gibeon to sacrifice there, for that was the chiefe hie place: a thousand burnt offrings did Salomon offer vpon that altar.
Und der König ging nach Gibeon, um allda zu opfern; denn dort war die große Opferhöhe. Tausend Brandopfer opferte Salomoh auf selbigem Altar.
5 In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Salomon in a dreame by night: and God sayd, Aske what I shall giue thee.
In Gibeon erschien Jehovah dem Salomoh im Traume der Nacht; und Gott sprach: Bitte, was Ich dir geben soll.
6 And Salomon sayd, Thou hast shewed vnto thy seruant Dauid my father great mercie, when hee walked before thee in trueth, and in righteousnesse, and in vprightnes of heart with thee: and thou hast kept for him this great mercie, and hast giuen him a sonne, to sit on his throne, as appeareth this day.
Und Salomoh sprach: Du hast an Deinem Knechte David, meinem Vater, große Barmherzigkeit getan, wie er vor Dir wandelte in Wahrheit, Gerechtigkeit und Geradheit des Herzens mit Dir, und hast ihm diese große Barmherzigkeit gehalten und ihm einen Sohn gegeben, der auf seinem Throne säße, wie es an diesem Tage ist.
7 And now, O Lord my God, thou hast made thy seruant King in steade of Dauid my father: and I am but a yong childe, and know not howe to go out and in.
Und nun hast Du, o Jehovah, mein Gott, Deinen Knecht an Davids, meines Vaters Stelle zum König gemacht, und ich bin noch ein kleiner Junge, weiß weder Ausgang noch Eingang.
8 And thy seruant is in the mids of thy people, which thou hast chosen, euen a great people which cannot be told nor nobred for multitude.
Und Dein Knecht ist inmitten Deines Volkes, das Du erwähltest, vieles Volkes, so, daß man es nicht berechnen noch zählen kann vor Menge.
9 Giue therefore vnto thy seruant an vnderstanding heart, to iudge thy people, that I may discerne betweene good and bad: for who is able to iudge this thy mightie people?
So gib Deinem Knecht ein gehorsames Herz, zu richten Dein Volk, zu unterscheiden zwischen gut und böse; denn wer vermöchte sonst dies Dein gewichtiges Volk zu richten.
10 And this pleased the Lord well, that Salomon had desired this thing.
Und das Wort war gut in den Augen des Herrn, daß Salomoh um solches bat.
11 And God sayde vnto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thy selfe long life, neyther hast asked riches for thy selfe, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies, but hast asked for thy selfe vnderstanding to heare iudgement,
Und Gott sprach zu ihm: Weil du um solches gebeten, und nicht gebeten hast für dich um viele Tage, und nicht gebeten für dich um Reichtum und nicht gebeten hast um die Seele deiner Feinde, sondern für dich gebeten hast um Einsicht, das Recht zu hören:
12 Beholde, I haue done according to thy wordes: lo, I haue giuen thee a wise and an vnderstanding heart, so that there hath bene none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall arise the like vnto thee.
Siehe, so habe Ich getan nach deinem Worte. Siehe, Ich habe dir gegeben ein weises und einsichtsvolles Herz, daß gleich dir keiner vor dir war, noch nach dir aufstehen soll gleich dir.
13 And I haue also giuen thee that, which thou hast not asked, both riches and honour, so that among the Kings there shall be none like vnto thee all thy dayes.
Und auch um was du nicht gebeten hast, gebe Ich dir, beides, Reichtum und Herrlichkeit, so daß kein Mann unter den Königen gewesen ist, wie du alle deine Tage.
14 And if thou wilt walke in my wayes, to keepe mine ordinances and my commandements, as thy father Dauid did walke, I will prolong thy dayes.
Und wenn du wandelst in Meinen Wegen, daß du hältst Meine Satzungen und Gebote, wie David, dein Vater, wandelte, so verlängere Ich deine Tage.
15 And when Salomon awoke, behold, it was a dreame, and he came to Ierusalem, and stoode before the Arke of the couenant of the Lord, and offred burnt offrings and made peace offrings, and made a feast to all his seruants.
Und Salomoh erwachte und siehe, es war ein Traum; und er kam nach Jerusalem und stand vor der Lade des Bundes Jehovahs, und opferte Brandopfer und brachte Dankopfer dar, und machte ein Gastmahl für alle seine Knechte.
16 Then came two harlots vnto the King, and stoode before him.
Da kamen zwei Weiber, Buhlerinnen, zum König hinein und standen vor ihm.
17 And the one woman sayd, Oh my lorde, I and this woman dwell in one house, and I was deliuered of a childe with her in the house.
Und das eine Weib sprach: Bitte, mein Herr, ich und das Weib da, wohnen in einem Hause, und ich gebar bei ihr im Hause.
18 And the third day after that I was deliuered, this woman was deliuered also: and we were in the house together: no stranger was with vs in the house, saue we twaine.
Und es geschah am dritten Tage nach meinem Gebären, daß auch dieses Weib gebar, und wir waren zusammen. Kein Fremder war bei uns im Hause, nur wir zwei waren im Hause.
19 And this womans sonne died in the night: for she ouerlay him.
Und der Sohn dieses Weibes starb in der Nacht, weil sie auf ihm gelegen hatte.
20 And she rose at midnight, and tooke my sonne from my side, while thine handmaide slept, and layde him in her bosome, and layde her dead sonne in my bosome.
Und sie stand mitten in der Nacht auf und nahm meinen Sohn von meiner Seite, da deine Magd schlief, und sie legte ihn an ihren Busen, und ihren Sohn, den toten, legte sie an meinen Busen.
21 And when I rose in the morning to giue my sonne sucke, beholde, he was dead: and when I had well considered him in the morning, beholde, it was not my sonne, whom I had borne.
Und ich stand am Morgen auf, um meinen Sohn zu säugen, und siehe, er war tot; da ich ihn aber am Morgen betrachtete, siehe aber, da war es nicht mein Sohn, den ich geboren hatte.
22 Then the other woman sayd, Nay, but my sonne liueth, and thy sonne is dead. Againe she sayde, No, but thy sonne is dead, and mine aliue: thus they spake before the King.
Und das andere Weib sprach: Nein, mein Sohn ist der lebende und dein Sohn der tote. Und diese sprach: Nein, sondern dein Sohn ist der tote, und mein Sohn ist der lebendige; und so redeten sie vor dem König.
23 Then sayde the King, She sayth, This that liueth is my sonne, and the dead is thy sonne: and the other sayth, Nay, but the dead is thy sonne, and the liuing is my sonne.
Und der König sprach: Die hier spricht: Der lebendige da ist mein Sohn, und dein Sohn ist der tote, und die da sagt: Nein, sondern dein Sohn ist der tote, und mein Sohn der lebendige.
24 Then the King said, Bring me a sworde: and they brought out a sworde before the King.
Und der König sprach: Holet mir ein Schwert. Und sie brachten das Schwert vor den König.
25 And the King sayde, Deuide ye the liuing child in twaine, and giue the one halfe to the one, and the other halfe to the other.
Und der König sprach: Hauet damit das lebendige Kind entzwei, und gebt die Hälfte der einen und die Hälfte der anderen.
26 Then spake the woman, whose the liuing child was, vnto the King, for her compassion was kindled toward her sonne, and she sayde, Oh my lorde, giue her the liuing childe, and slay him not: but the other sayde, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but deuide it.
Und das Weib, deren Sohn der lebendige war, sprach zu dem Könige; denn ihr Erbarmen ward erregt für ihren Sohn, und sie sprach: Bitte, mein Herr, gebt ihr das lebendige Kind und tötet es nicht. Jene aber sprach: Weder mein noch dein sei es, hauet es entzwei.
27 Then the King answered, and sayde, Giue her the liuing childe, and slay him not: this is his mother.
Und der König antwortete und sprach: Gebt ihr das lebendige Kind und tötet es nicht! Sie ist seine Mutter.
28 And all Israel heard the iudgement, which the King had iudged, and they feared the King: for they sawe that the wisedome of God was in him to doe iustice.
Und ganz Israel hörte das Gericht, das der König gerichtet hatte, und sie fürchteten sich vor dem Könige; denn sie sahen, daß die Weisheit Gottes in seinem Inneren war, Gericht zu tun.
